Hi everyone,
Over the weekend I received my October Play Box from Sephora and I thought that today would be the perfect day to go through it. The theme this month is Your Beauty Recipe, products that you can mix into your routine to help you look fresh and I think that’s a great theme. The bag is plastic with a snap and lock closure, the front is a see through dark blue with various beauty and lifestyle objects and ‘Play! By Sephora’ in the middle. The back is white with ‘Miniature beauty, major satisfaction #SephoraPlay’ written in dark blue.
The first product we have is the Youth To The People Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser. This has kale, green tea, spinach and vitamins, essentially it’s a green juice for your skin. It’s free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, synthetic dyes and more. Good for dry, combination, normal and oily skin. I like gel cleansers and this one is really intriguing to me, so I’ll let you guys know what I think.
The next product we have is the Dr. Andrew Weil For Origins Mega-Mushroom Relief & Resilience Soothing Treatment Lotion. This is a mushroom infused soothing lotion that is supposed to reduce redness and help to prepare your skin for serums/moisturizers. Redness isn’t something I have a problem with but I know someone who will probably love this.
Moving on we have the Shiseido WASO: Clear Mega-Hydrating Moisturizer. This is a moisturizer that uses whole carrot cells for hydration and peony root extract to prevent the look of any skin imperfections and is supposed to hydrate the skin for up to 24 hours. I was excited to try this because Shiseido is such a great brand, so I used it the night I got it. I like that it’s a clear gel, it’s light and I felt like it was quick to sink in to my skin. However, this broke me out so bad. I really don’t have sensitive skin but there was something in there that my skin just did not like.
Next up we have the Tarte Rainforest Of The Sea Quench Hydrating Primer. I’ve talked about this a number of times, I really like it. It has marine plant extracts, gives you a great base to work with and helps to lock in your makeup.
The second to last product we have is the ultimate, holy grail setting spray, Urban Decay All Nighter. This helps to cool and lower the temperature of your makeup so there’s no melting and it really locks it in. It says up to 16 hours on the bottle and in my experience that’s true. I will forever recommend this.
And the last product, this month’s bonus, is the dpHUE Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Masque. This has macadamia oil to add moisture and shine and sunflower seed extract to protect your color. Basically it’s super nurturing. You put this in clean, damp hair from about the middle of your hair to the ends and let it sit for between 5 and 20 minutes before you rinse it out. I’ve been super careful with my hair since getting it done, but I am interested to try this out.
That about wraps it up for this, if you guys got any of the same products in your October Play Boxes let me know which, and if not I’d love to know what you did get.
Until next time, enjoy your products and I can’t wait to see what I get next month :).
