Blogmas Day Six: Winter Bodycare Routine

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day Six! I can’t believe that we’re already halfway through, it truly has been flying by. Today I thought it would be fun, because I just did my winter skincare routine, to share my winter bodycare routine.

For winter I really ramp it up because winter can be so drying for the skin and let’s be honest, that’s the worst. So the first thing I use, is something that I’ve been using for a really long time, and it’s the Bath and Body Works Ultimate Hydration Body Cream in Warm Vanilla Sugar. It’s one of my favorite Bath and Body Works scents and has been for a while. This has Hyaluronic Acid and Shea Butter, Hyaluronic Acid attracts water which brings in moisture and Shea Butter is also super hydrating. This has a really creamy and slightly thicker consistency which I like for winter. It also says it delivers 24 hour hydration. I definitely recommend the Ultimate Hydration Creams.

Warm Vanilla Sugar Ultimate Hydration Body Cream

The next thing I use for body is the Sol de Janeiro Coco Cabana Intense Hydration Body Cream. The Sol de Janeiro creams are some of my absolute favorite. This one is has a really nice feel, it sinks in super quick and leaves your skin feeling super soft. It has a mix of Coconut Oil, Cupuacu Butter and a CocoSugar Blend. It also smells incredible, it does have that tropical coconut scent but it also has really warm and toasty notes. It’s so good.

Sol de Janeiro - Coco Cabana Intense Hydration Body Cream 8.1 oz/ 240 mL

The next product I use, I use for my hands and my feet and it’s the Jergens Ultra Healing Lotion. This one I’ve also been using for a while and I really like it. I feel like people always forget that feet need to be moisturized too but they definitely do. I also use this for my hands because my hands so tend to get dry during the winter and this has Vitamins C, E and B5 so it’s super hydrating and does a great job of combating any dryness.

The last product I use for bodycare I also use for my hands and it’s the Mario Badescu Hydrating Hand Cream. I got a little sample of this with an order I placed and I liked it so I bought a little bottle that I keep in my handbag. It has Hyaluronic Acid as well as a mix of Peppermint, Thyme and Yarrow Extract which helps to revitalize the skin. It also has a super lightweight formula and sinks into the skin super quick. I definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a good hand cream.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we use any of the same products for bodycare let me know and if not I’d love to know what you do use.

Until next time, have fun with your bodycare routine and I can’t believe we’re halfway through Blogmas :).

Blogmas Day Nine: Winter Skincare Routine

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day Nine! Today I’m going to be showing you guys my winter skincare routine. I do these posts every season, and I really enjoy them, so with that being said let’s get into it.

The first thing I do is take the Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover for Lids, Lashes and Lips put that on a cotton pad and swipe it over my eyes and lips. One of the things I really like about this is it has a really gentle formula so you don’t have to scrub and it takes off every long wear, waterproof product you’re wearing.

JLSP2

Then I take the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Deep Dive Cleansing Gel to remove the rest of my makeup. You put this on your hands, rub until it’s foamy, then put on your face. And it leaves your skin feeling really nice.

MYSP3

My next step is to take the Caudalie Concentrated Brightening Essence on a cotton pad and swipe all over my face. This removes any dead skin cells you may have so that your serums and moisturizers can really sink in and do their job.

JSP5

Then it’s time for serums. This winter I’ve been rotating between my two favorites, the Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum which is really great at evening out your skin tone and brightening your skin and honestly during winter I feel like brightening is key because the cold can be so harsh on the skin. And the Olehenriksen Truth Serum, which has vitamin C, green tea, aloe juice and orange extract and is very hydrating and brightening as well.

OSP3

SSP7

I follow that with moisturizer and this winter I’ve been loving two. The first is the Algenist Genius Sleeping Collagen, which I talked about 975 times during the summer months and I still freaking love it. This has a really buttery texture, it makes my skin feel really soft, hydrated and almost dewy. It’s a vegan collagen, has ceramides, alguronic acid, Mary Thistle and is free of pretty much everything. The second is the Belif The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb. This makes my skin again feel really soft and smooth. The callout is that it can retain moisture for up to 26 hours and it does feel like it moisturizes for a long time.

AUSP3

SPSP2

My second to last step is eye cream and for that I have my trusty duo of the Belif Moisturizing Eye Bomb and the Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream. The Belif cream has been my holy grail eye cream for a while, it makes my under eye look and feel moisturized. The Clinique Pep-Start is really hydrating, brightening and I look more refreshed after using it.

FSP3

APB9

And my last step is lips. For this I use the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask in Vanilla and the Vanilla Softlips. I’ve been using the Laneige more because it gives that extra moisture that my lips want during winter. But the Softlips is always really hydrating and both of these smell really good.

JUSP5

AF3

That about wraps it up for this post, if we use any of the same products let me know and if not I’d love to know what products you do use.

Until next time, have fun with your routines and you can never have too many skincare products :).

Blogmas Day Eight: Winter Fashion

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day Eight! Today I’m going to be talking about winter fashion. The weather around here has been pretty cold and recently there was a stretch of about a week/week and a half where it was absolutely freezing. So I wanted to share with you guys an example of how I’ve been dressing this winter. I have four different looks, so let’s get into it.

The first is for the days when it’s absolutely freezing and bundling up is the only option.

WF1

Here I’ve gone for a hat, scarf (which is tucked into my jacket), winter jacket (this jacket is a bomber style jacket and I love that it keeps me so warm but isn’t too bulky) and warm boots. Normally I’ll wear a pair of gloves, either black or silver, but I keep those in my handbag all winter anyway.

This second look is for those days when it’s a little bit cold but not so much that you need a massive jacket. And really if you wanted to not wear a massive jacket during winter you probably could get away with it with the right layers.

WF3

So I went with a long sleeve gray sweater, it’s not a super thick material so you can wear it for multiple seasons and not just winter. Then I have a black vest with a faux fur collar, this vest is a little bit puffy so it keeps you warm. And I paired it with a these over the knee boots from JustFab. These are the Lyrica boots in black and they’re actually quite comfortable. JustFab and ShoeDazzle are two of my favorite places to shop for boots because they have such a great selection, so I’ll leave some links down below.

My third look is the cozy look. For the time in the day/weekend when you want to get cozy and just chill.

WF2

This one is pretty basic. I’ll go for a sweatshirt, the one I choose depends on how cold I am because they’re all vary in thickness. A pair of leggings, again, how cold I am will depend on the length of the leggings. And my slippers, these are from Deerfoam and they’re the best, so warm and comfy. Plus they have tread on the bottom so I can wear them outside if I need to without worrying about ruining them.

And my last winter look is the dressed up look. This or a version of this is what I’ll be wearing to Christmas parties/on Christmas Eve this year.

WF4

I love this outfit. I’m calling this a sweater dress, on me it’s long enough to be, and it’s a really nice dark blue with gold and cowl neck with three gold buttons. It’s so soft and keeps me warm. I paired that with some black leggings that have a leather strip down the side and a pair of peep toe pumps that are embellished with little gems. Definitely one of my favorite pairs of heels, they add a little extra to any outfit.

That about wraps it up for this post, what are your fashion go-tos during winter?

Until next time, have fun planning your outfits and stay warm this winter :).

Blogmas Day 22: What’s in my bag; winter edition

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day 22! Today I’m going to be doing a What’s In My Bag; Winter Edition. It’s been quite a while since I’ve done one of these and I think they’re quite fun, so let’s get into it.

This is the bag I’m currently using. It’s from H&M, it has a shoulder strap, which is detachable, plus the two handles on top. The main compartment is in the middle and on each side of that is a large compartment with a gold zipper on top. There is another smaller zip pocket on the inside and two more small pockets. One of my favorite things about this bag is the gold hardware, and that includes four studs on the bottom. And one of the standout things to me was the black lining along the outer edge of the bag. I think the color is officially called Light Taupe and if you can still get this bag, I believe it also comes in black and one other color, maybe white but I’m not 100% sure.

MF3

Starting with beauty, I have a couple things that I have to have in my bag during the winter months. The First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream and Vanilla Softlips are two things I know I’ve mentioned many times but I do love them. And the other is the Bath and Body Works Winter White Woods hand sanitizer. I love this scent, it’s very wintery but without being overly sweet and in your face. It almost has a masculine quality to it and those scents can be quite refreshing. I always have lotion and hand sanitizer in my bag, but the smells change as the seasons go on.

DB8

DB7

Moving on, I have a couple of fashion items. The first is a pair of gloves. I keep a black pair on me, even though I have other colors, because these are the only pair I have that I don’t have to take off to use my phone.

DB5

Next we have a hat, because even though I have a lot of hair my head does get cold and they say you lose most of your body heat out of your head. I think this hat is from Forever 21 and it really does go with pretty much everything.

DB6

Next I have a pair of sunglasses. I wear sunglasses year round and this time of year the winter sun is incredibly bright and I’d rather not be blinded whilst I’m driving. My sunglass style of choice is aviators. I think they suit my face the best, I have multiple pairs and this pair is from H&M.

DB4

And lastly I have a scarf, well two scarves. I’ve been wearing a scarf practically everyday, it’s been that cold. I have two in my bag because the other day I had an outfit change and that included a scarf change. I don’t know where this first one is from, it was a gift, but I love it. It’s on the thicker side, it is an infinity scarf which is my preferred style and it’s colors I love.

DB9

The second scarf is one of my favorites, it’s a simple gray, also infinity style, and it’s a lighter fabric so you can really wear it any time of year. And this one is from Fred Meyer.

DB10

And finally we have a couple of random items. The first is a choker. It’s not uncommon for me to have some sort of necklace in my bag, but I don’t typically wear chokers. This is new, and I wanted something more on the festive side to wear and when I saw this I thought it was perfect. It’s black with a gold star and I love the simplicity.

DB3

Second to last I have a pack of hand warmers. I don’t always have particularly cold hands, but these are so great to have and I highly recommend having them around.

DB2

And lastly, I have a couple of snacks. I always have some sort of snack in my bag, usually on the healthier side, but these are not. These are Ghiradelli squares. One is Peppermint Bark and the other is Eggnog. Two flavors I love and they are actually quite good.

DB1

That about wraps it up for this post, what do you guys keep in your handbags during winter?

Until next time, I can’t believe it’s almost Christmas and I hope you guys are enjoying Blogmas :).

Blogmas Day 9: Winter skincare routine

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day 9! Today I’m going to be talking about my winter skincare routine and some of my must haves for this time of year. Winter can be rough on the skin so it’s important to go that extra mile and take care of yourself. I will leave links below for everything that I mention. And full disclose all pictures I use will be of the mini versions that came from Glam Bags and whatnot and not the full size versions I’m using now.

To take off my makeup I use the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Deep Dive Cleansing Gel. This stuff is really fantastic and takes off all of your makeup. Put one pump of it into your hands and rub your hands together until it gets foamy then put on your face.

JLGB9

After I take off my makeup I cleanse my face and for that I use the First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser with Red Clay. It unclogs pores, purifies skin and removes excess oils. I don’t have particularly oily skin, but since using this I have seen a definite difference in my skin and I’m really happy with it.

AGGB3

When it comes time to moisturize, I turn to a product I’ve been loving for many months and that is the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer. I cannot even tell you how much I love this. It leaves my skin feeling so soft and I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a new moisturizer.

MGB6

The last part of my routine is to moisturize my lips. I mentioned in my favorites last month that I’ve been alternating between two products and those are the SKYN ICELAND Berry Lip Fix with Wintered Red Algae and the Vanilla Softlips. I wear a lot of lipsticks and different lip products so I’ve always tried to take extra care of my lips and I’ve been using the Softlips for quite a while. The SKYN ICELAND is a newer addition and it’s one of those things that I can’t believe I haven’t been using since the beginning. Just a fantastic product. Both of them are.

AF3

NGB3

Now on to the must haves section of this post, one thing I cannot live without during the winter is lotion. I have two absolute favorites for this and they are the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream and the Bath and Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar 24 hour moisture Ultra Shea Body Cream. I’ve talked a lot about the Ultra Repair Cream recently so you guys know how much I love it. I have one that I keep in my handbag and one that I keep with my other products and it really has made a difference. The Bath and Body Works Body Cream I’ve been using since last December, it’s one of the things that keeps my skin soft and hydrated all year and it’s one of my all time favorite scents. I like that even though it is a thicker cream it feels light and sinks into the skin quickly and the Shea Butter is a major plus.

That about wraps it up for this post, if you guys use any of the same products in your skincare routine let me know and if not I’d love to know what you do use.
