February Favorites

Hi everyone,

Happy Friday! As it’s the end of the month, I thought that it would be the perfect time do my February favorites. I have a good and fun mix this month, so let’s get into it.

Starting with beauty, I have a few favorites from my February BoxyCharm box, and if you haven’t read that I’ll link it down below. My first Boxy favorite is the Ace Beaute Nostalgia palette. This is a 15 pan palette, you get a mix of mattes and metallics and the color range is great. I’m having a lot of fun with this palette, all of the shadows are nicely pigmented, you get a great color payoff and they blend really nicely. I definitely recommend this if you want a fun palette.

My next Boxy favorite is the Wander Beauty Double Date Lip and Cheek. This is a double layer balm that can be used on the lips and the cheeks. The first layer is a nice light pink that builds really nicely and blends well and that is in the shade Rendezvous. The second layer is a shimmer free balm that gives a nice glow and hydration and that is in the shade Swipe. You also get a little mirror on the second layer, making this perfect to throw in your bag. I personally like this more for the lips than the cheeks, but from when I tested it on the cheeks it did look and feel nice.

My second to last beauty favorite and last Boxy favorite is the Saint Luxe Beauty Limited Edition Liner Duo. This is a set of two brown toned lip liners, the first Love Letter, is what I would call a lighter cinnamon brown and the second, Secret Admirer, is a darker more chocolate brown. These are really smooth and creamy when you apply them and they’re long wearing. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for brown liners.

And my last beauty favorite is my Valentine’s Day makeup look. I did a post all about this look, how I did it and the looks I did leading up to Valentine’s Day, which I’ll link below. I like this look a lot, it’s bright and fun and I’m really happy with how it turned out.

IMG_7389

Moving on I have a fashion favorite, and it’s my Valentine’s Day outfit. I usually like to wear something in some shade of pink, this year it was really cold and snowy, so I thought this was the perfect time to wear the cropped sweater I got for Christmas. I think it’s adorable and it paired well with the makeup look I did.

IMG_7369

My next favorite is weather favorite and it’s the snow we got. I always want snow during the winter months and we don’t always get it, but we did for a couple days and it was really fun.

IMG_7357

Moving on I have a food favorite and it’s this Honey Mustard Snack Mix from Costco. This has five different things in it, honey mustard and onion pretzel pieces, seasoned almond poppers, honey roasted sesame sticks, honey roasted almond splits and savory chickpeas. These are so, so good, the pretzel pieces are my favorite. I definitely recommend these if you’re looking for a good snack.

IMG_7455

And my last favorite is a music favorite. This month I had a little playlist of love songs and such for Valentine’s Day and I really liked it. It had Take That, Eric Clapton, The Doobie Brothers, Little Mix and more. I think themed playlists are so fun, and if it’s not something you do already, I would recommend it.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we had any of the same favorites let me know and if not I’d love to know what your February favorites were.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope you had a great February :).

Five Pink/Red Looks of February

Hi everyone,

Today I have a fun post, that I really like doing. Last March I did a series of festive looks leading up to St. Patrick’s Day, and I thought it would be fun to do the same with Valentine’s Day. I had a lot of fun doing these, so I think this is a trend I’ll be continuing.

For the first look I wanted to do something simple, but still fun. The first thing I did was prime my face and for that I used the GlamGlow GlowStarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer in Nude Glow. Then I applied my Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless Foundation in 205, Ivory, my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 5, Ivory and set everything using the Ofra Pressed Banana Powder.

IMG_7422

For the rest of my face I first applied my Nars bronzer in Laguna, then I used the blush, Makeup & Be Merry, and highlighter, Angel Kisses, from the Too Faced Unbearably Glam Collection.

IMG_7423

IMG_7425

For my eyes, the first thing I did as prime my eyes using the Pretty Vulgar Uncaged Eyeshadow Primer. I then went into the Too Faced Unbearably Glam Palette and first put Boxes And Bows in the crease, then took a mixture of Christmas Dreams and Lords A Leapin’ all over my lid. I wanted to do a fun liner, so I sprayed an angled brush with setting spray and went into the ABH/Norvina Mini Vol 1 palette. I picked the first shadow in the second row because it’s really bright and fun. I topped off the eyes with the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. For my lips I first took the Sephora Collection Lip Liner To Go in 09, Fuchsia and filled my lips in lightly, then I put the Trestique Mini Lip Glaze in Paris Pink, on top. And I set the whole look with the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.

For my eyes, the first thing I did was prime, using the Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later Primer. I then went into the ABH/Norvina Mini Vol 1 Palette and took the lighter of the purples, first shadow third row, and put that lightly in the crease. I then took the darker purple next to it and packed that into the inner corner and outer corner of my lid, leaving space in the middle. For a little bit of shimmer, I took the pinky/gold shadow, middle of the second row, and packed the on the middle of my lid. I lined my eyes using the KVD Tattoo Liner in Trooper and topped off the eyes using the Too Faced Damn Girl Mascara. For my lips I applied the Trestique Mini Lip Glaze in Paris Pink. Valentine’s Day Treats

Hi everyone,

Before we get into today’s post I want to say that today is the 12th and that means that it’s the 5 year anniversary of this blog! As always I’m incredibly grateful for all of the follows, reads, like, shares, comments, everything and here’s to many more in the future. On to today, as Valentine’s Day is on Friday, I thought today would be the perfect day to share some Valentine’s Day treats. Whether you’re having a party or just a chill night, these are perfect.

The first treat we have is Red Velvet Blossoms. I always love cookies like this and they’re typically super simple to make.

What You Need:

  • 1 box of red velvet cake mix
  • 1/4 cup of oil
  • 1/4 cup of water
  • 1 egg
  • 1 jar of red sugar crystals
  • 28 Hershey’s Kisses

What You Do:

  • The first thing you’re going to do is preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Then take a bowl, you can do this in a stand mixer as well, add in your cake mix, oil, water and the egg. Mix that until it’s well combined and there are no lumps of cake mix.
  • Next pour the red sugar crystals into a bowl and set to the side. Take your scoop and get about 1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons of the dough and drop that into the red sugar. Make sure the dough ball is evenly and completely coated.
  • Place the dough balls on the baking sheet a couple inches apart and bake them for 8-10 minutes.
  • Once the cookies come out of the oven immediately press a Hershey’s Kiss into the center and transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely.
  • Serve and enjoy!

The second treat we have is Valentine’s Day Puppy Chow. I love puppy chow, I make it for pretty much all holidays and it’s always such a crowd-pleaser.

What You Need:

  • 5 cups of Chex cereal
  • 5 ounces of white candy melts
  • 5 ounces of pink candy melts
  • 1 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 3/4 cup of Valentine’s M&M’s
  • 1/2 cup of small cinnamon heart candies

What You Do:

  • So the first thing you’re going to do is take 2 1/2 cups of the Chex, pour it in a large bowl and set that aside. Then take the white candy melts put them in a microwave safe bowl and microwave them in 30 second increments until melted and smooth. Pour that over the cereal you set aside and stir until it’s evenly coated.
  • Then take 1/2 cup of the powdered sugar, 1/4 teaspoon of salt and pour over the coated cereal making sure to evenly coat that.
  • Transfer to a baking sheet, spreading it out to cool completely.
  • You’re going to do the same thing with the other half of the cereal. Place it in the same bowl and set aside. This time take the pink coating chocolate and melt in the microwave in 30 second increments until melted and smooth and pour that over the cereal and stir until evenly coated.
  • Coat with the remaining powdered sugar and salt, transfer to a separate baking sheet to cool completely.
  • Once both are cooled, combine in a large bowl, add in the M&M’s and the cinnamon hearts and stir to combine.
  • Serve and enjoy!

The second to last treat we have is Sweetheart Milkshakes. Milkshakes are such a fun dessert this one sounds delicious.

What You Need:

  • 2 to 3 cups of vanilla ice cream
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 5-6 fresh strawberries
  • 4 tablespoons of strawberry syrup
  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa (if you want a red velvet flavor)
  • White melting chocolate
  • Red or pink sprinkles
  • Whipped cream

What You Do:

  • The first thing you’re going to do is put your ice cream, milk, strawberries and strawberry syrup in a blender and blend until smooth. If you want to add the cocoa, this is where you would do it.
  • Next melt your white chocolate. Then take your glass and dip the rim in the melted chocolate, making sure it’s well coated. Then dip in your red/pink sprinkles and allow to set.
  • Pour your milkshake into the glass, top with whipped cream and red/pink sprinkles.
  • Serve and enjoy!

And the last treat we have is White Chocolate Valentine’s Day Popcorn. Popcorn is one of my favorite snacks and I love to jazz it up like this for holidays.

What You Need:

  • 10 cups of popped popcorn
  • 12 ounces of white chocolate
  • 2 tablespoons of sprinkles
  • 1 cup of conversation hearts

What You Do:

  • The first step is to take the popped popcorn and place it in a large bowl. Then you’re going to melt your white chocolate. Once you’ve done that pour the melted chocolate over the popcorn and stir until it’s evenly coated.
  • Then add in the sprinkles and conversation hearts and stir.
  • Pour popcorn out onto a baking sheet to cool completely.
  • Serve and enjoy!

That about wraps it up for this post, if you guys make any of these treats let me know how they turn out and if not I’d love to know what your favorite Valentine’s Day treats are.

Until next time, have fun baking and I hope you all have a happy Valentine’s Day :).

Valentine’s Day Cocktails

Hi everyone,

As we’re in February and Valentine’s Day is right around the corner I thought it would be the perfect time to do my first Valentine’s Day food/drink post. We’re going to start with some fun and delicious cocktails, so let’s get into it.

The first cocktail we have is Strawberry Bellinis. I think Bellinis are a great year round drink and they’re super easy to make. This recipe makes 2 drinks.

What You Need:

Cocktail:

  • 8 ounces of Prosecco
  • 4 ounces of strawberry syrup
  • Rim sugar
  • Strawberries to garnish, optional

Strawberry Syrup:

  • 1 pound of strawberries
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup of water

What You Do:

Strawberry Syrup:

  • The first thing you’re going to do is hull and chop your strawberries. Once you’ve done that put them in a medium sized saucepan and add in the sugar and water.
  • Put the pan on medium heat and bring the mixture to a low boil. Cook for about 8 to 10 minutes or until the fruit starts to break down and make sure to stir the entire time.
  • Once your mixture is cooked strain it, making sure to discard all of the fruit solids. Then put it back on the stove to further reduce, to do that bring to a boil then reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes or until it’s thickened up.
  • When you’re happy with the thickness of your syrup remove it from the heat and let cool. Then keep it in the fridge until you’re ready to use it.

Bellinis:

  • The first thing that you’re going to do is chill your champagne glasses. Once your glasses are chilled it’s time to rim them. To do this you can use regular sugar or a flavored sugar like strawberry to bring it all together. Get the rims of the glasses wet then dip in the sugar, making sure they’re evenly coated and set them aside.
  • Take the strawberry syrup you made earlier and add 2 ounces to each glass.
  • Top the glasses with Prosecco and garnish with a strawberry.
  • Serve and enjoy!

The second cocktail we have is Strawberry Rose Gin Fizz. I really don’t drink gin but this sounded like a really interesting drink, I may make this one just to try it out. And this recipe makes two drinks.

What You Need:

  • 6 strawberries
  • 2 teaspoons of sugar
  • 4 shots of gin
  • 1 teaspoon of rose water
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup of club soda
  • Ice
  • Lime

What You Do:

  • The first thing you’re going to do is wash, hull and chop your strawberries into small pieces.
  • Then take your sugar and sprinkle it over the top of the strawberries. Let that sit for about 5 minutes then mash up the strawberries with a fork.
  • Next, take your cocktail shaker and add ice. Then add in the strawberry mixture, gin, rose water and a little pinch of salt. Shake well and divide evenly between your two glasses.
  • Top off each glass with the club soda and a lime wedge.
  • Serve and enjoy!

The second to last cocktail we have is the Hearts Of Pom. I love pomegranate and this is such a simple drink to make. And this recipe makes 1 drink.

What You Need:

  • 2 ounces of silver tequila
  • 1 ounce of pomegranate juice
  • 1 ounce of Cointreau
  • 1 ounce of fresh lime juice
  • Pomegranate seeds to garnish, optional

What You Do:

  • The first step is to take your cocktail shaker and add ice. To that add the tequila, pomegranate juice, Cointreau and fresh lime juice. Shake well.
  • Pour into your glass and top with the pomegranate seeds.
  • Serve and enjoy!

And the last cocktail we have is Cupid’s Pink Arrow. Valentine’s Day can be a really decadent holiday and this drink is really light and refreshing. This recipes makes 1 drink.

What You Need:

  • 1 1/2 ounces of vodka
  • 3/4 ounce of blood orange liqueur
  • 1 1/2 ounces of orange juice
  • A splash of lemon juice
  • 5 raspberries
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 6 ounces of Sprite
  • Ice
  • Sliced Lemon to garnish
  • Raspberries to garnish

What You Do:

  • The first thing you’re going to do is take your cocktail shaker and in that muddle your raspberries. To your muddled raspberries add the vodka, blood orange liqueur, orange juice, lemon juice and sugar. Shake well.
  • Take your glass and fill it with ice. Then strain the drink into the glass and top with the Spite and mix.
  • Garnish with the sliced lemon and raspberries.
  • Serve and enjoy!

That about wraps it up for this post, if you guys make any of these cocktails I’d love to know how they turn out and if not I’d love to know what your favorite Valentine’s Day cocktail is.

Until next time, have fun making drinks and I hope you all have a happy Valentine’s Day :).

Valentine’s Day Cocktails

Hi everyone,

With Valentine’s Day being tomorrow, I thought it would be fun to do a post featuring some fun and delicious Valentine’s Day cocktails. I have three to tell you about, so let’s get into it.

First up we have the Lovebug Cocktail, this is super simple to make and can easily be made into a mocktail if you want. This makes one drink.

What You Need:

  • 3 ounces of white cranberry juice
  • 2 ounces of lemon lime soda
  • 1 ounce of vodka
  • 1 ounce of grenadine
  • Ice
  • 2 ounces of simple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons of granulated red sprinkles

What You Do:

  • First, get two plates and grab the glass that the drink will be served in. On plate pour the simple syrup and on the other pour out the sprinkles. Dip the rim of the glass in the simple syrup, then in the sprinkles until the rim is nicely lined.
  • Next, fill the cup with ice and pour in the white cranberry juice, lemon lime soda, vodka and grenadine.
  • Serve and enjoy!

The second cocktail we have is Cupid’s Cocktail. This will look really pretty once it’s made and this recipe makes four drinks.

What You Need:

  • 16 ounces of champagne
  • 8 ounces of grapefruit juice
  • 1/4 cup of pomegranate seeds
  • 6 ounces of vodka
  • 6 ounces of water
  • Pink food coloring
  • 4 strawberries

What You Do:

  • So this first step you can do either hours before making this cocktail or 24 hours before. And what you’re going to do is make vodka ice cubes. You don’t have to use heart shaped ice cube trays for this but if you can find them and want to really carry the theme through then go for it. What you’re going to do to make these is take 2 ounces of the vodka and mix it into the water, then add the pink food coloring until you have your preferred color. Then pop them into the freezer.
  • When you’re ready to serve these take out your ice cubes and put them, along with the pomegranate seeds, into the bottom of each of your glasses.
  • Fill each of the glasses with 2 ounces of grapefruit juice and top that off with champagne.
  • Finish each glass with a skewered strawberry, serve and enjoy!

The last cocktail we have is The Bourbon Sweetheart. Most cocktails for Valentine’s Day are more fruity, so I like to try and find at least one that is different and this one is perfect.

What You Need:

  • 2 dashes of Angostura bitters
  • 3/4 ounces of rich simple syrup
  • 2 strawberries, cut into large pieces
  • .50 ounces of ginger liqueur
  • 3/4 ounces of lime juice
  • 3-4 ounces of club soda
  • 2 ounces of bourbon

What You Do:

  • First, place your strawberries into a shaker and muddle the strawberries and simple syrup.
  • Then fill the shaker with crushed ice, bourbon, ginger liqueur, lime juice and bitters.
  • Shake and pour into a tall glass. Then top with club soda and a fresh strawberry to garnish.
  • Serve and enjoy!

That about wraps it up for this post, if you guys make any of these drinks tweet me a picture or tag me on Instagram. And if you guys have any drink recommendations, let me know.

Until next time, enjoy your drinks and I hope you all have a Happy Valentine’s Day :).

Valentine’s Day Treats

Hi everyone,

Today I’m going to be talking about some fun and delicious Valentine’s Day treats. It’s currently snowing here, so I was feeling cozy and after this I’m going to be doing some baking. I have three different treats to share with you, so let’s get into it.

The first one is Strawberry Truffle Kiss Cookies, these are really easy to make will be a favorite of whoever you give them to. This recipe makes 48 cookies.

What You Need:

  • 1 box of strawberry cake mix
  • 8 tablespoons of melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon of strawberry extract
  • 4 ounces of softened cream cheese
  • Pink sanding sugar
  • 48 chocolate kisses

What You Do:

  • The first step is to take the wrappers off of the kisses and put them in the freezer. This is so they don’t melt when you put them on the cookies.
  • Next add the cake mix, butter, egg and strawberry extract to a bowl and mix until a soft dough forms.
  • Once you have a soft dough, add the cream cheese and mix until well combined.
  • Put the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  • Once you take the dough out, roll it into 48 balls and run through the pink sanding sugar, making sure it’s well coated.
  • Bake the cookies at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 8 minutes. Once they’re baked let them sit for a few minutes before moving them to parchment paper/a cooling rack.
  • Top each cookie with a frozen kiss and let them cool completely.
  • Serve and enjoy!

The next treat we have is Pink Hot Chocolate. I love making hot chocolate from scratch like this, and it’s always a great choice during the winter months. This recipe makes 3 or 4 drinks depending on the size of your mug.

What You Need:

  • 4 cups of milk. If you wanted to make this thicker and creamier then you can do 2 cups of half and half and 2 cups of milk
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 8 ounces of white chocolate chips
  • Pink food coloring
  • Toppings, whipped cream, marshmallows, etc

What You Do:

  • In a medium sauce pan add the milk/half and half, vanilla and white chocolate chips and put on medium heat.
  • Stir it occasionally until everything is combined and you’ve reached the desired temperature. Make sure you don’t let it boil.
  • Add the food coloring until you have the desired color.
  • Pour into mugs and top with your desired toppings.
  • Serve and enjoy!

The last treat we have is M&M’s Caramel Cookies. I quite like M&M’s and I saw this recipe on the back of the bag, so I thought I would try it and they’re so good.

What You Need:

  • 2 sticks of softened salted butter
  • 2/3 cup of brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • 2 cups of all purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons of baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 3/4 cups of M&M’s Caramel Chocolate Candies Cupid’s Mix (these are the red, pink and white ones)

What You Do:

  • In a large bowl, add the butter and both sugars and cream until smooth. Once smooth, add the egg and vanilla extract and beat until well combined.
  • In a different bowl sift the flour, baking soda and salt together. Stir this into the butter mixture.
  • Then add in the M&M’s, making sure it’s well combined and refrigerate the dough for at least an hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Form the dough into rounded tablespoons and drop them on the tray 2 inches apart.
  • If you want chewy cookies make them for 8-10 minutes and if you want crispy cookies bake for 12-14 minutes.
  • Serve and enjoy!

That about wraps it up for this post, if you guys make any of these treats tweet me a picture or tag me on Instagram. I’d love to see how they turn out.

Until next time, enjoy your treats and have a Happy Valentine’s Day :).

Valentine’s Day cocktails

Hi everyone,

Today I’m going to be doing part three of my Valentine’s Day posts and today it’s all about Valentine’s Day cocktails. I love a good cocktail and the four I’ve selected for this are so good and definite crowd pleasers.

So first up we have Love Potion No. 9, it’s a triple berry martini and it’s one of my favorites. This recipes makes two drinks.

What you need:

  • 1 cup of pomegranate juice
  • 3 ounces of strawberry vodka
  • 3 ounces of Chambord Black Raspberry Liqueur
  • 2 heart cut strawberries to garnish, this is optional
  • 2 small pieces of dry ice, this is also optional

What you do:

  • First, in a cocktail shaker, add the pomegranate juice, vodka and the Chambord. Shake to combine.
  • If you are using the dry ice, then place one small piece in the bottom of each glass. Then pour the martini over the dry ice.
  • Garnish your drinks with two of the heart shaped strawberries on a skewer.
  • Wait for the dry ice to dissolve completely.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Next we have Strawberry Moscow Mules. Moscow Mules are always great and this is a fun twist on the classic. This recipe makes one drink.

What you need:

  • 1 1/2 ounces of vodka
  • 1 1/2 ounces of strawberry soda
  • 1/2 a small lime
  • 8 ounces of ginger beer
  • Sliced strawberries and limes to garnish, this is optional

What you do:

  • You can do this in a tumbler or a copper mug, but first add ice.
  • Add the vodka, strawberry soda, the juice from the lime and the ginger beer.
  • Stir to combine and garnish with the sliced strawberries and limes.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Our second to last cocktail is the one that I haven’t tried yet and it’s simply called Lady in Red. And this recipe makes one drink.

What you need:

  • 1 1/2 ounces of Maker’s Mark bourbon
  • 1 ounce of pomegranate juice
  • 1/2 ounce of lemon juice
  • Chilled ginger beer

What you do:

  • Add the Maker’s Mark, pomegranate juice and lemon juice to a cocktail shaker that’s been filled with ice.
  • Shake for about a minute then pour into an ice filled glass and top with the ginger beer.
  • Serve and enjoy!

And finally we have Pink Strawberry Sangria. This is also a great drink for summer parties. This recipe makes 12 drinks.

What you need:

  • One bottle of pink moscato wine, 750 ml
  • 1/2 cup of strawberry vodka
  • 2 cups of lemon lime soda
  • 6-10 large strawberries, sliced

What you do:

  • In a large pitcher combine the wine and the vodka and add in the strawberries. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  • Right before serving add in the lemon lime soda.
  • Pour over ice filled glasses.
  • Serve and enjoy!

That about wraps it up for this post, if you guys make any of these drinks tweet me a picture or tag me on Instagram.

Until next time, enjoy your drinks and I hope you all have a happy Valentine’s Day :).

Valentine’s Day treats

Hi everyone,

Today I’m going to be doing part two of my Valentine’s posts, fun and delicious treats. There are so many different fun treats for Valentine’s Day, but these are some of my favorites.

First up we have Red Velvet Cake Bites, super simple and delicious.

What you need:

  • 1 box of red velvet cake mix, if you want you can make the cake from scratch
  • 1 container of cream cheese frosting, again if you want you can make it yourself
  • 1 pound of white coating chocolate
  • Red candy melts

What you do:

  • Bake the cake according to the directions on the box.
  • Once you take the cake out let it cool completely, if you want faster cooling you can put it in the freezer. After it’s cooled crumble the entire cake into a bowl.
  • Stir in the frosting, 1/2 a cup at a time, until it reaches the point where it will hold together when formed into a ball.
  • Once you have reached that perfect consistency roll your cake bites into balls, whichever size you prefer and place them on a large baking sheet and put in the refrigerator to set up. That will take about 30 minutes.
  • Melt the white chocolate and dip the balls, making sure that they are evenly coated and place them on parchment paper to set up.
  • Melt the red candy melts and spoon it into a piping bag. Then drizzle it over each cake bite.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Next we have Strawberry Crinkle Cookies. Crinkle cookies are incredibly easy to make and always a crowd favorite.

What you need:

  • 1 box of strawberry cake mix
  • 8 ounces of whipped topping, one container
  • 1 egg
  • Powdered sugar to roll the cookies in
  • Sprinkles to decorate

What you do:

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit then grease a baking sheet and set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl lightly beat the egg and add the cake mix and the whipped topping. Mix well.
  • Once you’ve mixed the ingredients, roll small balls into powdered sugar until they are well coated.
  • Place the cookies on the baking sheet, about an inch apart, and add the sprinkles.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until the edges are firm but you don’t want them to brown.
  • Take them out of the oven and let them cool.
  • Serve and enjoy!

And finally, because you can’t have Valentine’s Day without chocolate, we have double chocolate cupcakes.

What you need:

  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups of all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup of whole milk
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of boiling water

What you do:

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line your tin with paper liners, I use red or pink to be extra festive.
  • In a large mixing bowl add the sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt and stir together.
  • Add in the eggs, milk, oil and vanilla and beat on medium speed for one minute. Then stir in the boiling water, don’t worry if the batter is thin because it’s supposed to be that way.
  • Fill the liners about 2/3 of the way full and bake the cupcakes for 18-22 minutes.
  • Cool the cupcakes completely on a wire rack before frosting.

Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting:

What you need:

  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 8 ounces of cream cheese, take this directly from the fridge
  • 4 cups of powdered sugar
  • 1 to 4 tablespoons of heavy cream, you can also use heavy whipping cream or milk
  • 1/2 cup of unsweetened cocoa

What you do:

  • Place the butter in a large mixing bowl and beat until smooth. Then add in the cream cheese and beat until fully combined and smooth.
  • Add in unsweetened cocoa and mix until fully combined, them add in the powdered sugar and mix on low. Then bump up to medium and beat until it begins to get fluffy.
  • Slowly add in the heavy cream, a little bit at a time, until you get the consistency you want.
  • Beat for about one minute or until fluffy.
  • Pipe onto your cupcakes. I like to with either red and pink sprinkles, hearts or strawberries.
  • Serve and enjoy!

That about wraps it up for this post, if you guys make any of these treats tweet me a picture or tag me on Instagram.

Until next time, part three will be up in a few days and have fun making treats and desserts this Valentine’s Day :).

Valentine’s Day drinks: Non-alcoholic edition

Hi everyone,

Happy February! As Valentine’s Day is coming up I thought it would be fun to do some festive food and drink posts. There will be three in total, one food and two drink, and we’re going to start with some fun and delicious non-alcoholic Valentine’s drinks. Whether you’re having a big party or just want to make some different for your family, these drinks are perfect.

First up we have a Cran-Raspberry Spritzer. Typically Valentine’s Day is full of so much candy and sugar and these are so refreshing.

What you need:

  • 16 ounces of Cranberry-Raspberry juice
  • 20 ounces of lemon-lime soda
  • 1 lemon, quartered
  • Fresh raspberries
  • Ice cubes

What you do:

  • First you’re going to fill four glasses with even amounts of ice. Once you’ve done that divide the Cran-Raspberry juice among the glasses.
  • Then add the Lemon-Lime soda, topping them off and making sure to divide the soda evenly.
  • Take the lemon and squeeze it into the drinks for a hint of brightness and freshness.
  • Garnish with a couple of fresh raspberries and stir.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Next up we have Sweetheart Punch. This drink is not only perfect for Valentine’s Day, but great in the summer.

What you need:

  • 1 container, 64 ounces, of strawberry lemonade
  • 1 liter of lemon-lime soda, for this and all others that call for soda I use Sprite because it’s my favorite
  • 1 container, 1/2 quart of raspberry or strawberry sherbet, whichever you prefer

What you do:

  • Chill the strawberry lemonade and soda in the refrigerator for a few hours.
  • Once chilled, pour the strawberry lemonade and soda into a punch bowl or pitcher. If you go with a pitcher make sure it’s gallon size, and stir to combine.
  • Pour the mixture into glasses and top with a scoop of sherbet.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Our second to last drink is one of the easiest and it’s Red Raspberry Punch.

What you need:

  • 2 liters of 7UP
  • 1 cup of frozen raspberries
  • 1/2 quart of raspberry sherbet

What you do:

  • First, pour roughly half of the 7UP into a punch bowl, this can also be made in a pitcher. Then add the frozen raspberries.
  • Scoop the sherbet into the bowl, or pitcher, and top with the rest of the 7UP.
  • Give it a stir and let the flavors mix together.
  • Serve and enjoy!

And lastly, we have a fun spin on a classic, Shirley Temple floats. There are a couple of different ways you can make a Shirley Temple and this one is one of the easier ways.

What you need:

  • 2 liters of lemon-lime soda or ginger ale
  • 1 large bottle or two small bottles of maraschino cherries
  • 1/2 gallon of vanilla ice cream

What you do:

  • Place a couple scoops of the vanilla ice cream into tall glasses
  • Pour a tablespoon or two of the maraschino cherry brine over the ice cream. If you don’t like grenadine or can’t find it this is a great substitute.
  • Add the soda and top with a few cherries.
  • Serve and enjoy!

That about wraps it up for this post, the next post will be Valentine’s Day treats and that will be posted in a couple of days so look out for that.

Until next time, if you guys have any fun drinks let me know and if you make any of these let me know how they turn out :).

I want your input

Hi everyone,

This isn’t the typical blog post, but rather something I want your opinion on. I’ve been wanting to do a Q&A for a while now, and I want to know how you guys want me to do it. What I’m thinking is I can do the traditional blog post where you send me your questions and I write out my answers, or I could do a livestream on YouTube. Let me know what you guys think and remember to send in questions. The questions can be about anything you want, so don’t think it has to be solely about makeup and beauty. Anyway, let me know what you guys think :).
