Three Recent Makeup Looks

Hi everyone,

I was looking through my Instagram the other day and saw three fun makeup looks that I did recently and I thought it would be fun to share with you guys how I did them. I’ve done a few posts similar to this in the past and I quite like them. A couple little notes before we start, I forgot to include them, but for all three looks I used the Too Faced Primed and Peachy Cooling Matte Skin Perfecting Primer and the Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base. And since I took these pictures I’ve switched foundation and concealer so those aren’t present in the pictures. And if you want an in depth look at some of the products I’m going to talk about I’ll leave links to corresponding posts below. With that being said, let’s get into it.

This first look was my New Years Eve look and I know I showed it in a January post, but I didn’t get in depth with it. This was the first time I had really played around with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Sultry Palette, and I’m still so happy with how it turned out.

Starting with my face, the first thing I did after putting on primer was put on my foundation, L’Oreal True Match super-blendable foundation in N2. Then I applied the matching True Match concealer in N 1-2-3, Fair/Light and in the spots I wanted more coverage, the YADAH Silky Fit Concealer BB Power Brightening in Light Beige and I made sure that was well blended with a Micro Mini Beauty Blender. To top that off I applied the Kat Von D Beauty Lock-It Setting Powder in Translucent with an e.l.f. Powder Brush. When it came to my bronzer I used the one in the top right corner of the e.l.f. Blush Palette in Light and a Firma Beauty 103 Angled Contour Brush. The blush I used is the Seraphine Botanicals Lychee + Gold Healthy Glow Rose-Gold Blush, it’s definitely become one of my favorites, and I used a big fluffy brush to apply that. And the last thing I did was highlighter and for that I used the Tini Beauty Barfly Highlighter in Candlelit.

ML8

Now for the fun part, eyes. After applying the Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base I went in with a Bare Escentuals eyeshadow brush and applied Birch and Dystopian in the crease and blended that out with a Skone Blending Brush. Then I applied Noir and blended. Once I was satisfied with that I used my L’Oreal True Match concealer, which I now only use for things like this, and applied Cyborg. It is worth saying that I did copy the eyeshadow part of this look from a picture on Pinterest. Next up was eyeliner and for that I used the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper and the mascara I used was Marc Jacobs Beauty Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara in Noir. I curled them and brushed them out. After that I took another shadow brush and applied Cyborg in inner corner of my eye and a little bit of Noir at the end. Then, taking an angled brush, I filled in my brows using Dystopian and I topped off the look by combining MDM Flow Retro and Anastasia Beverly Hills Crush. I was slightly unsure about combining them, but it created a nice color.

The second look we have is from Valentine’s Day and I really wanted to have fun with pinks.

ML3

ML7

For this look I used pretty much all of the same products on my face with the exception of the bronzer. And what I used this time is Warm My Heart from the Natural Beauty Palette and that’s from the Too Faced Best Year Ever makeup collection. It has a nice shimmer and gives you a summery glow.

ML9

I used two palettes for this look, Anastasia Beverly Hills Sultry and ColourPop She. The first shadow I used is Bloom from the ABH palette and I applied that with the Bare Escentuals eyeshadow brush and blended it with the Skone Blending Brush. Then I used Missy from the ColourPop Palette, that is really pretty matte burgundy and blended that. I applied concealer then used Rose Quartz from the ABH palette. I topped that with the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner and used the Hourglass Caution Extreme Lash Mascara in Ultra Black. I curled and brushed out my lashes and applied a little bit of Rose Quartz on the inner corner of my eye and a little bit of Missy at the end. I filled in my brows with Dystopian and topped off the look with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Crush.

And the third look I did on a random Saturday and was wanting to play with color.

ML4

ML5

ML6

For my face I used the same products that I used in the first look.

ML10

Even though this look is purples, I think it adds a lot when you use another color as a base. So the first thing I did was take my Bare Escentuals brush and put Bloom in the crease and blend it out with my Skone Blending Brush. Then I went to the ColourPop She palette and used Damsel, which is a really pretty matte violet shade and blended that. Next I applied concealer and applied Empress, which is a really pigmented, really pretty metallic purple. The liner I used is the Kat Von D Beauty Tattoo Liner in Trooper and I used the Urban Decay Perversion Mascara. After curling and brushing out my lashes I applied a little Empress on the inner corner of my eye and a little Damsel at the end. I filled in my brows with Dystopian and finished the look with the Model Co Illusion Lip Liner and Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick in Crush.

That about wraps it up for this post, like I mentioned, these are some of my favorite posts to do so look out for more in the future and I’d love to know which of these three looks is your favorite.

Until next time, have fun creating your looks and you can never take too many makeup pictures :).

Blogmas Day Nine: Friendsmas

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day Nine! I can’t believe there’s only three days left of Blogmas, it’s just flown by. Today I’m going to be talking about Friendsmas. I exchanged gifts with one of my longtime friends recently, like we’ve been doing for years and it was great. I think we both nailed it this year.

So, starting off with what I got her, I went for a theme this year, and if you read my present wrapping post, then you saw me talking about some of these presents and my thought behind how I wrapped them and if you haven’t read that post I’ll link it below. Like I said, I went with a theme, it was cozy, and I think everything went together nicely.

FMS2

For the stocking it took me forever to find one that I liked, but I ended up picking this one and I think it’s perfect. The material is kind of shiny, it has the fur on the top and it says It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year. And I filled it with five beauty bits. When it came to the stocking I didn’t want to do candy and I didn’t know how candy would ship, so I went with beauty products because when I’m having a cozy night in I like to pamper myself. So there’s a nail polish, face mask, pore strips and a couple of hair treatments.

FMS3

For the main presents, the big package is a super soft blanket, the red box is a box of tea that she likes and the long blue package is a bookmark. I found this amazing shop on Etsy that makes bookmarks and they are incredible. It’s called The Burlap Butterfly and there are bookmarks for so many different fandoms, they’re so well done and I highly recommend them. I posted a picture of a Harry Potter bookmark I bought myself on my Instagram, if you want to see what they look like.

For the gifts she bought me, I gave her some ideas of things that I wanted but I didn’t know what to expect. We definitely don’t tell each other what we’ve bought in the run up to the opening of the gifts. But she did very well. And it’s not pictured here, but there was a little note in the box as well.

FMS5

I’ve mentioned before that I really like adult coloring books, I’m a pretty creative person so I enjoy that aspect of it and I also find it to be relaxing. And this one is great because giraffes are my favorite animal.

FMS6

FMS7

The other thing she got me was a set of stemless wine glasses. But these aren’t normal wine glasses, they have a Harry Potter theme. The first one says Accio Wine! And the other says I Solemnly Swear That I Am Up To No Good.

FMS8

FMS9

FMS10

FMS11

That about wraps it up for this post, if you guys hosted or attended any Friendsmas parties I hope you had a great time.

Until next time, have you guys finished your shopping yet and I can’t believe there’s only six days until Christmas :).

May favorites

Hi everyone,

Today, as it’s the 31st, I thought I would do my May favorites. This month feels like it flew by, I can’t believe tomorrow is June 1st. I have a pretty good mix of stuff this month, so let’s get into it.

Starting off with beauty, I have a couple of favorites from my May Sephora Play Box and I will leave a link to that below if you haven’t read it. The theme this month was Beauty Goals. This month marked two years of Sephora Play, so they chose products that were beloved and have stood the test of time. My first favorite is the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Trooper. I’m always down to try a new eyeliner and I really like this one. The applicator is thin so you get a really precise and clean line and it doesn’t smudge or transfer. I would definitely recommend it.

MSP6

My next favorite is the Marc Jacobs Beauty Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara in Noir. This mascara is supposed to give your lashes mega volume without clumping and it does just that. I’m kind of picky with my mascaras and I have two that I already love and use, Too Faced Better Than Sex and Essence Cosmetics I Love Crazy Volume, but I really, really like this. It makes my lashes look a mile long and this will be a fixture in my makeup bag for the foreseeable future.

MSP5

And my last Sephora Play favorite is the YSL Black Opium perfume. I can’t even tell you how freaking good this smells. It’s very well balanced, it’s a mix of sweet, fresh and there’s a warmth to it. I would definitely say to smell this if you get the chance.

MSP7

My next favorite is a nail polish and it’s Sinful Colors 1702, Hush Money. It’s a metallic rose and it’s beautiful.

MYF2

MYF3

Moving on, I have a food favorite and it’s David sunflower seeds, the ranch flavor. I’ve always loved seeds, and around this time of year I always have them in the pantry. I love them for not only watching and playing baseball but they’re a great snack period.

From food we go to racing. My racing favorite this month was the Indy 500. I’ve watched the 500 since I can remember, it’s one of my favorite Memorial Day weekend traditions. This was the 102nd running and it was incredibly exciting. Will Power ended up winning and I’m really happy for him, his family and Team Penske. Winning this race is a big deal and no small feat.

My second to last favorite is probably the most random thing in here and it’s Goop. If you don’t know, Goop is a multipurpose hand cleaner. My dad has always sworn by this, saying it works the best and it’s the only one you’ll ever need. And it is the only thing I use when I’m in the garage working on cars and my hands are just filthy. I’ve tried others, but in the end I came back to Goop. It’s not harsh on your hands, it smells good and it does a phenomenal job of removing the layers of whatever is on your hands so you’re not scrubbing with soap forever. It also gets stains out of clothes, over the weekend I got grease on my favorite pair of jeans and it got it right out.

MYF1

And my last favorite is a music favorite and it’s the Cream 2005 Reunion Concert it took place at Royal Albert Hall, May 2-3-5-6. Cream consists of Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce (RIP) and Ginger Baker. They were one of the first rock supergroups, and while they weren’t around for very long originally, conflicts between Bruce and Baker, they made a huge impact. And around the time leading up to this concert there had been some things happen and it made Clapton think that they should get back together and put the past behind them before it was too late. And they did just that. I have both the DVD and CD versions of the concert and it is fantastic. It’s one of those things I can watch over and over, some of my favorite songs are Cream songs, and it makes me smile every time.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we had any of the same favorites this month let me know and if not, I’d love to know what your May favorites were.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope you had a great May :).

Blogmas Day 11: Christmas traditions

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day 11! Today, as there are only two weeks until Christmas, I thought I would talk about some of my Christmas traditions. I have a couple things that it would not be Christmas without, so let’s get into it.

Most of my traditions involve Christmas Eve and the first is family dinner. Every year since basically forever, my family get together and go out to our favorite Chinese restaurant for dinner. It’s always a great time and the best part is digging into the leftovers later that night after wrapping presents.

And speaking of wrapping presents, since I was a little kid I would help my father wrap the presents he had bought, and I helped him shop for, for my mother. And since my brothers and I stay at my parents house after dinner I’m still able to do that. While wrapping presents we watch It’s A Wonderful Life. It’s one of the best Christmas movies and it wouldn’t be Christmas without it.

On Christmas morning we wake up and have breakfast together and have A Christmas Story on in the background. At that point TBS is well into their 24 Hours of A Christmas Story, so it’s an easy choice for what to put on.

After breakfast my siblings and I partake in something that may be a little childish, but it’s a lot of fun. I can’t remember where exactly this came from, but someone hides a pickle ornament on the tree and the rest of us have to go and find it and the person who finds it first gets to open the first present. It gets everyone into the spirit and a little competition is always fun.

After putting on the Christmas music we open stockings and presents and just chill for the day. Eating the Chinese leftovers throughout the day and getting into the presents we got. It’s definitely a fun day.

That about wraps it up for this post, if any of you guys have similar traditions let me know and if not I’d love to know what your traditions are.

Until next time, I hope you guys are liking Blogmas and enjoy your traditions :).
