April 2022 BoxyCharm Unboxing

Hi everyone,

Yesterday I received my April BoxyCharm box and I thought that today would be the perfect day to go through it. The theme for this month is Spring Revival, which is very fitting as we’re in April and it’s officially Spring. I mentioned last month that my box arrived looking like it had been karate punched, and this one suffered a bit of the same fate. I don’t know if USPS hates me or hates BoxyCharm, but it definitely looks a little rough. Thankfully none of the products were damaged though, BoxyCharm does a great job with their inner packaging.

So, the first item we have is the StudioMakeup Hyaluronic Acid Rejuvenating Serum. This says that it’s a highly concentrated serum that works to reverse the effects of dehydration and the loss of elasticity while keeping your skin highly moisturized and looking youthful and radiant. This doesn’t say how concentrated it is which I would like to know, but all of the reviews I’ve seen are very positive and I do like a good serum, so I’m interested to try this and see how I like it.

The next item we have is my Choice item for the month, the Beauty Bakerie Sour Ya Doin’? Eyeshadow Palette. This is a new release for Beauty Bakerie. You guys know me, if there’s a Choice eyeshadow palette, I’m most likely going to select it and this one seemed really fun. This is a nine pan lemonade inspired palette which is the perfect theme for spring/summer. Beauty Bakerie always has the cutest packaging and when FoodTribe was still up and running I would do a lot of posts on food and drink inspired makeup products, so I got to talk about BB a lot.

This palette does come with a mirror in the top and it has a super cute boarder of pink with sliced lemons.

Like I said, this is a nine pan palette and it has a range of colors and finishes. Upon first glance I did think the overall color scheme was more geared towards fall but after swatching, the tones of these shadows definitely read more towards spring/summer. I like the little details in palettes, so the fact that the area around the pans has the gradient from yellow to white is a nice touch.

I swatched these in the rows they appear in so the first shadow we have is Pink Lemonade. Based on the name I did expect it to be more of a pink or at least a pinky/red, but this is more of a red/red. It’s still a nice shadow though. Next to that is Sangria, which one of those pinky/white shadows with a shift that makes a fantastic topper and the last shadow in the row is Sweet, which is a lighter orangey/brown.

The second row starts with Refresher and my god this shadow is pretty. This is a metallic orange and it has so much shine. I cannot wait to wear it, the formulation and pigmentation is next level. Then there’s Bellini Me which is a true matte orange, very pigmented. And the last shadow in the row is Tart, which is bright yellow. Yellow’s can be difficult to formulate and this one is a little powdery and was a little patchy at first, but it built up pretty well. It’s definitely a workable shadow.

The last row starts with Choctails, which is a medium/leaning towards dark brown. This one didn’t swatch very well. It was patchy and didn’t build as well as I would have liked, which you can see in the picture. Next to that is Sour, a matte nude and the last shadow in the row is Icy, which is another gorgeous metallic. This one is a yellow/gold and again, I can’t wait to wear it.

Moving on, we have the Aesthetica Cream Contour Kit. This is a six pan palette with both three contour shades and three highlight shades. The pans themselves are removeable and refillable and this palette in particular is formulated for fair to dark skin tones.

You do get a mirror with this palette, which makes it great for travel.

I really never do cream contour but I’m not opposed to giving it a go. When I swatched the contour and highlight shades I did notice that they were very silky and creamy and seemed like they would be blendable.

I swatched these in the rows they appear. So on top is the highlight shades and we have Heiress, Chandelier and Wanderlust. Then we have the contour shades, Honey Love, Summer Nights and Chic Parisian.

The second to last item we have is the Dominique Cosmetics Creamy Fill & Define Lip Liner in Crush. This is a lip liner that has a very unique tear drop shape that is narrow at the tip for precision and wide at the bottom to fill. It’s infused with Vitamin E to protect from free radicals, smooth fine lines, boost circulation and keep your lips pillowy-soft. This is long lasting and in a demi-matte finish so it’s light on the lips. This shade in particular is on the brown side, which is the kind of lip liner I tend to go for. I’m already thinking of what lipsticks it would go well with and how it would be nice on it’s own as an all over color. I’m excited about this one. I also want to mention the Dominique Cosmetics packaging because I always really like it. It’s simple but very nice.

And the last item we have is the Flirtacious Looks Cosmetics The Perfect Duel: Foundation Travel Set. This is an essential foundation tool travel set and I think it’s adorable.

The first took we have is the Mini Base. This is a travel sized, paddle shaped synthetic brush with a short handle for easier application. When I tell you this brush is incredibly soft, it is incredibly soft. I don’t usually use a brush for foundation, I like a sponge, but I like brushes like this for highlight so I’ll definitely get use out of it.

And speaking of sponges, the other tool we have is a Quick Beat sponge. This is a latex free, foam beauty sponge with a sharp tip and flat edge for smooth application. This sponge seems a little bit on the harder side, and I’m surprised it’s latex free based on how it feels, but I’m sure once you get it wet it softens up nicely. I really like the Real Techniques sponges and that’s what I’m using right now, so I’ll be comparing the two and I’ll let you know what I think.

That about wraps it up for this post, if you got any of the same products in your April BoxyCharm box let me know and if not I’d love to know what you did get.

Until next time, enjoy your products and I can’t wait to see what I get next month :).

April BoxyCharm Unboxing

Hi everyone,

Yesterday I received my April BoxyCharm box and I thought that today would be the perfect day to go through it. The theme for this month is Sweet Treats, which is perfect because Easter was this month.

So the first item we have is my choice item for the month and it’s the Studio Makeup Tinted Moisturizer in Oat. I don’t wear tinted moisturizer a lot, but I thought it would be a fun thing to try out. This says it will give a light to medium coverage and it’s formulated with hyaluronic acid to hydrate and give you a glowy look. This bottle is 1.5 fl oz/42 ml, so you get a good amount.

Next we have the Natasha Denona Ayana palette. This is an exclusive, 5 pan palette made for BoxyCharm. This is a cool toned palette and it has 3 mattes and 2 shimmers. I really like Natasha Denona palettes, I think the shadows are formulated really well, they blend out nicely, the shimmers are creamy and very pigmented.

The first shadow we have is 277CP Harlow, which is a matte light taupe shade, next to that is 327CM Lash Line, a matte, very deep cool toned brown. Then there’s 75P Satin Skin, a warm toned light brown shimmer, next to that is 323Cm Crease, a matte medium taupey brown and the last shadow is 18M Glam Green, which is a gorgeous dark pewter shimmer.

Moving on we have the Flirtacious Looks Cosmetics Monarch Lash Pack. I was honestly so excited when I saw these because I pretty much never get lashes in subscription boxes and I really like getting them.

The top set is Baby Girl, which are an angled lash to give you the cat eye effect. The bottom set is Charmer which are a more rounded lash to give you a doll eye effect. These do come with a lash applicator, but they don’t come with lash glue, so if that’s not something you keep in your makeup bag, you’ll have to get some. These lashes are both cruelty free and 100% silk. I set these on my eyes just to see what they’re gonna look like and I really like them both. And if you use the code BOXY then you get 25% off the entire site.

The second to last item we have is the Terre De Mars 008 Reddition Body Cleanser. This cleanser has coffee and rosemary extracts and verbena oil to tone and purify and aloe vera to soften and nourish skin. This says it’s suitable for all skin types and I think it smells really nice. I really like the body cleanser I’m currently using, but I’m really interested to give this a try.

And the last item we have is the Eloise Beauty Get Gleaming Body Glow in Champagne Rich. This is a lightweight, non sticky luminizer for face and body. This says it’s a transfer proof formula and you can build it up for your desired glow. I think this is really pretty and definitely something I’ll be using as we get into warmer weather.

That about wraps it up for this post, if you got any of the same items in your April box let me know and if not, I’d love to know what you did get.

Until next time, enjoy your products and I can’t wait to see what I get in my May box :).

May 2020 BoxyCharm Unboxing

Hi everyone,

The other day I received my May BoxyCharm Box and I thought today would be the perfect day to go through it. From what I understand there’s typically supposed to be a little card that says a theme and has prices for all the products, but I didn’t get one in this box so I don’t know what the theme is for this month.

So the first product we have is the Daily Concepts Shampoo Bar. This has aloe, which helps to moisturize and balance along with soothing hair and scalp. Nopal Cactus, which helps to protect and nourish hair. And avocado oil to help with natural shine and elasticity. I could smell this through the box and it has that very natural, health food store smell. I’m pretty selective with what I put on my hair, but I’m interested by this.

The next product we have is the Ayam BeautyCare Dead Sea Minerals + Vitamin C Serum Makeup Remover Wipes. These are cruelty free with no artificial dyes, no parabens and no phthalates. These say that they remove everything, kiss proof, long lasting, waterproof, etc and leave the skin brightened and moisturized. I don’t use makeup wipes a lot on my face, I typically use them for removing swatches, and that’s the test that I did on these. They did get all the makeup off my arm and they smell really good. This is not an ad or a sponsored post, but Ayam BeautyCare reached out to me on Instagram and gave me a discount code. So if you go to their website and use BOXYFAM you’ll get 30% off your order.

Moving on we have the GlamGlow BerryGlow Probiotic Recovery Mask. This mask has a bunch of incredible things in it. Jojoba Oil, hyaluronic acid and shea butter for hydrating and protecting your skin’s moisture barrier. A blend of blueberry, cranberry and goji berry extracts along with vitamins to nurture the skin. And Lactobacillus ferment probiotic to support and help balance your skin’s microbiome. I really like GlamGlow masks and this one smells really good, so I’m excited to try it out.

The second to last product we have is the Pretty Vulgar Uncaged Eyeshadow Primer. This primer is infused with mineral rich clay to absorb any excess oil and has a fade proof, crease proof translucent finish that will make your eyeshadow more long wearing and vibrant. I’m always interested in a good eyeshadow primer and I have yet to try out anything from Pretty Vulgar, so I’ll let you guys know what I think.

And the last product we have is the Studio Makeup Ease-To-Wear Eyeshadow Palette. This is a 9 pan, neutral palette with a mix of mattes and shimmers. This palette is similar to and reminds me of the Urban Decay Naked Reloaded Palette in tone and color story. I wouldn’t call it a dupe, but I think it would be a good alternative. The UD Naked Reloaded is 12 pans and $44.00 and this one is 9 pans and $35.00. I did swatch this on my arm and at first the mattes were a little powdery, but they definitely seem workable and I think the shimmery shades are nicely pigmented. The first fives shadows we have are Sheen, which is a light almost champagney color. Then we have Flaxen, a medium brown shimmer, next to that is Bare, a light almost gray/brown matte. Gilded is next and that is a light shimmery brown and Wicked, a dark chocolatey brown shimmer.

The next four starts with Lace, a matte really light almost nudey brown. Then we have Dusk which is a very pretty pink that falls between light and medium and has just a bit of shine. Next to that is Blush and that is a light matte mauve and the last shadow is Fate, a very deep matte chocolate brown.

That about wraps it up for this post, if you got any of the same products in your May BoxyCharm Box let me know and if not I’d love to know what you did get.

Until next time, enjoy your products and I can’t wait to see what I get in my June BoxyCharm box :).
