What I Got For Christmas 2019

Hi everyone,

Today I thought it would be fun to share with you guys what I got for Christmas. I do want to say that I’m in no way trying to brag, I’m one of those people that enjoy reading and watching this type of post. This year I didn’t have a real list of things I wanted, so I was happily surprised by a few of these gifts.

The first thing we have is what was in my stocking. Besides my favorite candy, there was a Bath and Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar mist and body lotion. It’s my favorite scent from Bath and Body Works. Along with that there was a little flashlight, I love little practical things like this and you can never have too many flashlights. The last two things that were in my stocking were a mini Too Faced Peach Perfect Mattifying Loose Setting Powder infused with peach and sweet fig milk and the Peach Kiss Lipstick in Sex On The Peach.

WIGC1

I used the setting powder yesterday and today and I really like it. Added bonus, it smells like peaches. The lipstick also smells like peaches and it’s a comfort matte, long wearing and also infused with peach and sweet fig milk. Too Faced lipsticks are always really pigmented and this one is no different. I believe there are 13 shades of the Peach Kiss Lipsticks and I’m definitely going to be purchasing a few more.

Continuing on with the beauty theme, the first thing I unwrapped was the Too Faced Christmas Cookie House Party set. I was honestly so, so shocked to see this because I had mentioned it in a text to my mom like right after it came out then didn’t say anything after. I was considering buying this for myself as a Christmas gift but it was sold out on Sephora and Too Faced when I looked but for whatever reason I didn’t check at my local Sephora and they had a couple left which I’m super happy about. I’m going to be doing a separate post on this, so I’m not going to get into it too much, but I will say that yesterday I wore a couple of the shadows and I’m really happy with them. It was a good makeup day.

WIGC14

WIGC15

The second beauty item I got was the Sephora Collection Frosted Kisses Lip Stories Lipstick Set. This is also going to get it’s own post, but I will say that I’ve swatched all of these, wore one on Christmas Day and I’m wearing one now. I’m really liking them and I recommend them.

WIGC13

Next up we have a fashion item and it’s this light powder pink shoulder bag from H&M. I have a few different handbags and clutches but nothing like this. Like I said this is a light powder pink suede with silver hardware and leathery handles. It has a snap closure, one medium sized pocket on the very front, the main compartment and another pocket inside the main. You can adjust the way you wear it, so if the handles are the same length then it’s a shoulder bag, but if you stretch it out you can wear it like a crossbody. I didn’t realize when I was taking the pictures that it was a little crooked but that’s because of the pull on the door and not that bag.

WIGC9

WIGC10

WIGC11

WIGC12

Moving on we have a couple of practical things. The first is a 2020 Erin Condren Planner. I got my first Erin Condren Planner last Christmas and it was an absolute game changer, so I knew I had to have one for the new year. This will be getting it’s own post, but I did go for a different pattern, different colors and I put my first and middle name on it.

WIGC6

WIGC7

The second practical gift I got was a calendar. I have a couple of calendars that I use for different things and sometimes they’re different sizes but this one is my main calendar. There are two or three themes I typically go for when it comes to calendars, this one is jet themed. And has some great pictures.

WIGC4

WIGC5

And the last thing we have is music related, and it’s the Doobie Brothers Live From The Beacon Theatre Blu-Ray and CD Set. I talked about this when it came out, I have it on my phone and they showed a little bit of it on PBS. I like to have a physical copy of music, hence the CD Set and if I can help it I buy all discs in Blu-Ray. So I’m excited to have a music night and watch the full concert.

WIGC8

That about wraps it up for this post, I did also receive some socks, because it’s not Christmas if you don’t get socks, and a mug but it’s currently in the dishwasher because I used it this morning.

Until next time, enjoy your gifts and I hope you all had an amazing Christmas :).

December Favorites and 2018 Wrap Up

Hi everyone,

Today, as there’s only a couple of days left in the month, I’m going to be doing my December favorites and kind of wrapping up 2018. I have quite a few things to talk about, so let’s get into it.

Starting off with beauty, I have a couple of favorites from my December Sephora Play Box. The first is the Too Faced Primed & Peachy Cooling Matte Perfecting Primer- Peaches and Cream Collection. I used this on Christmas Day and I really like it. It blurs any imperfections you have and it helps to brighten your skin. I would definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a primer. And it smells like peaches and cream which is nice bonus. The Peaches and Cream collection is really great.

DSP6

My second favorite is the Trestique Lip Glaze in Paris Pink. I’ve worn this a couple times since getting it and I like it a lot. I would say it’s in between a lipstick and a lip balm. The color is really nice, it’s really long lasting and it’s very hydrating. I’m definitely going to be checking out Trestique to see their other products.

DSP2

DSP9

And my last Sephora Play favorite is the Sephora Collection Rouge Gel Lip Liner in 02 Nothin’ But Nude. This is a really pretty nudey brown and it goes with so many different lipsticks. I like that it’s really soft on the lips and basically glides on. And it has a matte finish. It’s got everything going for it. You can get this in something like 40 shades and I have a couple sitting in my cart right now that I’ll go and purchase after this.

DSP7

DSP8

Moving on, my next favorite is Christmas and within that what I got for Christmas. Starting with my stocking, my parents are pretty good at nailing stocking stuffers. Besides some of my favorite candy, there was a bottle of  Bath & Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar Body Spray, which is one of my favorite Bath & Body Works scents. A pack of hair ties, which is always needed, and a little loofa. There was also three mini products. I keep a little kit in my handbag that’s full of minis for all situations, so any additions to it I like. So there’s a Crest 3D White toothpaste, a Softsoap Juicy Pomegranate and Mango Infusions Moisturizing Body Wash and a Gold Bond Ultimate Skin Therapy Cream with Aloe.

CP1

Moving on to my actual presents, there were a few things I didn’t take pictures of and those were socks and some black tank tops, the basics. I did get one other clothing item and it’s a Mariners sweatshirt. I have some Mariners gear but I didn’t have any sweatshirts and I didn’t have any gear in the Sunday colors which are navy blue and gold. I wore this yesterday, it’s super comfortable and cozy and I like the way it fits.

CP10

Next I have a couple of beauty presents and each of these are going to get their own posts, so I’m not going to get too in depth about them. The first is the Sephora Collection The New Neutrals. This is a little box that has five different nude/neutral lipsticks and they’re all really pretty. I’ve worn two of them so far and I’m really happy with them. I’m excited to get into the details of this box.

CP2

The second beauty item is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Sultry palette. I’ve been drooling over this palette since I opened it and honestly I still kind of am. I’ve worn three of the colors so far, not at the same time, but I’m so happy with it. It’s a gorgeous palette.

CP3

CP4

I have one music item and it’s Jeff Lynne’s ELO Wembley Or Bust concert. I bought this on iTunes and have been listening to it but I have yet to watch it and this comes with two CDs and one Blu Ray. I’m definitely excited to watch this.

CP6

CP7

CP8

My last two items are lifestyle related. The first is new headphones. Mine were just old and I had gotten a lot of use out of them. And it’s always funny to me when you get new ones to remember what they’re supposed to sound like.

CP5

The second is also getting it’s own post and it’s an Erin Condren Life Planner. The one I got is the teal and platinum, has my name on it and is the vertical layout. I’m so happy with this, I’ve already started writing in things and I can’t wait to use it throughout 2019.

CP9

That about wraps it up for this post, I want to thank each and everyone of you for reading, following, liking, commenting and everything else. It means a lot. I hope you guys had a good year and here’s to an even better 2019.

Until next time, I hope you all had a great December and I appreciate you all :).

Blogmas Day Nine: Friendsmas

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day Nine! I can’t believe there’s only three days left of Blogmas, it’s just flown by. Today I’m going to be talking about Friendsmas. I exchanged gifts with one of my longtime friends recently, like we’ve been doing for years and it was great. I think we both nailed it this year.

So, starting off with what I got her, I went for a theme this year, and if you read my present wrapping post, then you saw me talking about some of these presents and my thought behind how I wrapped them and if you haven’t read that post I’ll link it below. Like I said, I went with a theme, it was cozy, and I think everything went together nicely.

FMS4

FMS2

For the stocking it took me forever to find one that I liked, but I ended up picking this one and I think it’s perfect. The material is kind of shiny, it has the fur on the top and it says It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year. And I filled it with five beauty bits. When it came to the stocking I didn’t want to do candy and I didn’t know how candy would ship, so I went with beauty products because when I’m having a cozy night in I like to pamper myself. So there’s a nail polish, face mask, pore strips and a couple of hair treatments.

FMS3

For the main presents, the big package is a super soft blanket, the red box is a box of tea that she likes and the long blue package is a bookmark. I found this amazing shop on Etsy that makes bookmarks and they are incredible. It’s called The Burlap Butterfly and there are bookmarks for so many different fandoms, they’re so well done and I highly recommend them. I posted a picture of a Harry Potter bookmark I bought myself on my Instagram, if you want to see what they look like.

For the gifts she bought me, I gave her some ideas of things that I wanted but I didn’t know what to expect. We definitely don’t tell each other what we’ve bought in the run up to the opening of the gifts. But she did very well. And it’s not pictured here, but there was a little note in the box as well.

FMS5

I’ve mentioned before that I really like adult coloring books, I’m a pretty creative person so I enjoy that aspect of it and I also find it to be relaxing. And this one is great because giraffes are my favorite animal.

FMS6

FMS7

The other thing she got me was a set of stemless wine glasses. But these aren’t normal wine glasses, they have a Harry Potter theme. The first one says Accio Wine! And the other says I Solemnly Swear That I Am Up To No Good.

FMS8

FMS9

FMS10

FMS11

That about wraps it up for this post, if you guys hosted or attended any Friendsmas parties I hope you had a great time.

Until next time, have you guys finished your shopping yet and I can’t believe there’s only six days until Christmas :).

Blogmas Day Seven: Eric Clapton Christmas Album Review

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day Seven! Today I’m going to be talking about Eric Clapton’s Christmas album Happy Xmas. I wanted him to do a Christmas album forever and I’m so happy that it happened. I have this album on my phone and I have a physical copy, but I do that with most albums. I’m one of those people who still likes CDs, I bought a few for other people because CDs always make great Christmas presents/stocking stuffers and the art on this album is adorable. I know it was drawn by Eric and it makes it feel that much more Christmassy.

EC1

The track listing for this album is:

  1. White Christmas
  2. Away In a Manger (Once in Royal David’s City)
  3. For Love On Christmas Day
  4. Everyday Will Be Like A Holiday
  5. Christmas Tears
  6. Home For The Holidays
  7. Jingle Bells
  8. Christmas in My Hometown
  9. It’s Christmas
  10. Sentimental Moments
  11. Lonesome Christmas
  12. Silent Night
  13. Merry Christmas Baby
  14. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

I know that if you listen on Spotify then you can hear two bonus tracks, A Little Bit Of Christmas Love and You Always Hurt The Ones You Love. Which are great, just like the rest of the album.

What I like about this album is top to bottom it’s different. It’s that perfect mix of bluesy and classic Christmas with a surprise thrown in. Jingle Bells is dedicated to Avicii, as Eric really liked his style and I think that that’s a beautiful thing to do, especially during this time of year. And it’s a great song.

Overall, this album is everything I wanted it to be and more and I give it a 9.5/10. The classics are so well done, the originals are amazing. I don’t think that I have one song that is my favorite, but I’m not gonna lie, I’ve been listening to this on and off since it came out in October, which I don’t do with Christmas music, and since it’s December it has made it’s way onto my Christmas playlist.

If you haven’t yet listened to this album, I highly, highly recommend that you do. I know it’s on Spotify and YouTube. I bought it from iTunes and got the physical copy from the EC store on his website, but I know that you can buy it other places.

That about wraps it up for this post, if you’ve listened to this album what’s your favorite song or songs?

Until next time, you can never have too many Christmas albums and have fun listening :).

Blogmas Day 10: Stocking stuffers

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day 10! Today I thought I would do a mini gift guide and talk about some ideas for stocking stuffers. When I was growing up and even now my mother does the stockings in my family so over the years I’ve watched what she does and when I started doing Friendsmas with my close friends I took what I had seen her do for so many years and put it into action. If I mention anything specific I will link it down below.

So the first thing I always put in a stocking, no matter who it’s for is candy. This is the time of year for candy and chocolate so it’s a must for me. I do an assortment of different candies but I make sure to put extra of whatever that persons favorite candy.

Next I will at least for the girls is bobby pins and hair ties. It’s one thing that you can never have enough of, they’re either breaking or disappearing or both and it’s always appreciated. Along with that I put in the mini versions, and this works for men and women, of favorite lotions, perfumes/colognes and any other products that person may like or use.

Something that is not only a safe bet but will be definitely appreciated is gift cards. Whether it’s to their favorite store, restaurant or iTunes. A gift card is always a great present.

If you’re looking for something on the tech side there are a couple of things I would recommend. The first is a portable phone charger, I use mine practically every day and it’s such a lifesaver. Mine is Schumacher Electric and I really like them as a brand, the products are top quality. A long charging cable, being able to use your phone while it’s charging is the best and thankfully there are brands that make the long cables.

I have a couple more suggestions and one is for the baker in your life. Last year I did a baking themed stocking for one of my friends and it went down really well. In it I put a bundle of measuring spoons, a mix of mini and full size whisks and spatulas and I even included a candy thermometer and I tied it all together with a ribbon.

For the kids I’ve found that it’s the little things that they like, crayons or markers, stickers, Hot Wheels cars and bracelets/jewelry.

That about wraps it up for this post, if any of you guys are doing a themed stocking for someone let me know what the theme is and how you’re doing it. It may just inspire me.

Until next time, I hope this post was helpful and have fun putting together stockings :).
