March Favorites

Hi everyone,

As it’s the end of the month, I thought that today would be the perfect day to do my March favorites. I have a pretty good and fun mix of favorites this month, so let’s get into it.

Starting with beauty, I have a couple of favorites from my March BoxyCharm box, and if you haven’t read that post I’ll link it down below. My first Boxy favorite is the Too Faced Damn Girl Mascara. This is one of those holy grail makeup items for me, it has a really nice and creamy formula that doesn’t smudge, run, transfer or flake. The brush is on the fluffier side and it really does a great job of coating all of your lashes. Plus you get a ton of volume and length without your lashes feeling heavy. This is a mascara I always recommend.

My next favorite is the Lime Crime Venus 3 Eyeshadow Palette. I wanted this palette when I saw the spoilers for the box and I’m so happy that I got it. This is an 8 pan palette with a shade range of lilac, rose gold, mauve and brown. There are also five different finishes, matte, foil, sparkly matte, sparkly metallic and metallic. I’ve been using this palette quite a bit and I have a 3 recent looks post coming on it. I don’t want to give away too much of my thoughts on it right now, but I will say that I definitely recommend giving this palette a try.

And my last beauty favorite is the Maven Beauty Rose Water Setting Spray. This is a product that I was slightly unsure about when I saw it because I really don’t like the essence of rose in beauty and skincare products, but I do love a good setting spray. After a few times of using it I can tell you that I do really like it. Once you spray it the smell dissipates pretty quickly and what you’re left with is makeup that it locked into place for up to 16 hours and won’t smudge.

Moving on to more random favorites, I first have a fashion favorite and it’s a pair of shoes. It’s not just any pair of shoes though, these are the Hoka One One Cavu 3’s. I’ve been looking for a good workout/running shoe for a long time and hands down these are the best ones I’ve tried. They’re comfortable, supportive and they don’t give me shin splints, which is huge. These are a little more expensive, but the quality and comfort is worth every penny. I also have to thank Tony Kanaan for recommending Hoka, because I might not have found them otherwise.

My next favorite is a candy favorite and it’s the Hershey’s Cookies and Creme bar. Cookies and creme is one of my favorite flavor combos, and I’ve always liked the Hershey bars but they’ve been revamped and now have more cookie pieces which make it that much better. Definitely recommend.

My second to last favorite is a racing favorite and it’s an event that took place last weekend, Funny Car Chaos. I watched the live stream of the race and it was so fun to see so many Funny Cars show up to qualify and race, every round was great, the races were close and it was a great event to watch.

And my last favorite is a music favorite. This month it’s Eric Clapton, in March I spend a lot of time listening to Eric because it’s his birthday month and while I listen to him regularly in general, but it’s definitely more in March.

That abut wraps it up for this post, if we had any of the same favorites let me know and if not I’d love to know what your March favorites were.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope you had a great March :).

March Favorites

Hi everyone,

Happy Friday! Today, as it’s the end of the month, I thought I would do my March Favorites. I have a pretty good mix this month, so let’s get into it.

Starting with beauty, I have a couple of favorites from my March Sephora Play Box. If you haven’t read that there will be a link down below. My first Sephora Play favorite is the Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo. I’ve mentioned a few times that Amika is one of my favorite brands when it comes to hair products and this dry shampoo didn’t disappoint. It not only made my hair feel refreshed but it was soft and it gave me nice volume. And this didn’t leave any residue like some dry shampoos can.

MRSP5

My next favorite is the Nars Bronzing Powder in Laguna. I knew as soon as I swatched this I would love it and I have been. I’ve been using this most days since I got it and now it’s got a permanent spot in my makeup bag. It’s got a great glow when the light hits it, the amount of sparkle is perfect and I love the color. It’s perfect for spring/summer and like I thought originally, very buildable. If you haven’t checked out Nars Bronzers I definitely recommend doing so.

MRSP8

MRSP7

MRSP6

My last Sephora Play favorite is the Maison Margiela Replica By The Fireplace fragrance. This not only smells good but it wears really well. When I first smelled it I was immediately brought to sitting around the fire and roasting marshmallows with friends. It’s woody and spicy but also sweet and vanillay. This is a fragrance that you can definitely wear all year long because it’s so well balanced.

MRSP9

My last beauty favorite is my makeup look from St. Patrick’s Day. I wanted to do something fun and festive but I don’t have a lot of green eyeshadow, I am going to order the ColourPop Just My Luck Palette though. So I did a gold eye, I used three golds, blended for 100 years until I liked it, and did an emerald shade on my lower lash line. I’m overall really happy with how it came out.

MRF4

Moving on, I have a fashion favorite and that is the Crystabel Sneakers from JustFab. I was browsing through their website recently and found myself looking at sneakers which is something I don’t have a lot of. One thing I’m never opposed to is expanding my shoe collection. I was looking at a few different pairs, but I feel in love with these and because I’m a popular size, I bought them immediately. They come in three different colors, white, black and rose gold and I bought the rose gold. They have white stars, white on the back and white laces. I’ve worn these once since getting them and not only are they super comfortable, but they go with pretty much everything.

MRF2

MRF3

I have two kind of random favorites, the first is puzzles. I’ve always loved doing puzzles, I grew up doing them and recently I got back into it. I completed this puzzle in a few days, mostly working on it before I went to bed, and I was so happy when it was done. This is a 1,000 piece Dowdle Folk Art London puzzle and every time I looked at it I discovered something new. I really like the style of the Dowdle Folk Art puzzles, so I’m going to look and see what else they have.

MRF1

My next kind of random favorite is baseball. Yesterday was Opening Day and baseball is officially back. The Mariners had a little bit of a different start because they played their first two official games in Japan, which was cool. But they were able to start this season at home yesterday and win! Which was super exciting and really fun. This year it’s basically a whole new team, but I’m excited to see how this season is going to play out.

And my last favorite is a music favorite. It’s Jeff Lynne’s ELO Alone in the Universe album. This isn’t an album that I listened to a lot when it came out, but recently Spotify has been playing me a lot of the songs and I’ve really been enjoying it. Top to bottom it’s a great album, I don’t think I could pick one song that’s my favorite but When I Was A Boy and All My Life have been playing a lot. If you haven’t heard it, I would definitely recommend giving it a listen.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we had any of the same favorites this month let me know and if not I’d love to know what your favorites were.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope you had a great March :).

Blogmas Day Eight: Winter Fashion

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day Eight! Today I’m going to be talking about winter fashion. The weather around here has been pretty cold and recently there was a stretch of about a week/week and a half where it was absolutely freezing. So I wanted to share with you guys an example of how I’ve been dressing this winter. I have four different looks, so let’s get into it.

The first is for the days when it’s absolutely freezing and bundling up is the only option.

WF1

Here I’ve gone for a hat, scarf (which is tucked into my jacket), winter jacket (this jacket is a bomber style jacket and I love that it keeps me so warm but isn’t too bulky) and warm boots. Normally I’ll wear a pair of gloves, either black or silver, but I keep those in my handbag all winter anyway.

This second look is for those days when it’s a little bit cold but not so much that you need a massive jacket. And really if you wanted to not wear a massive jacket during winter you probably could get away with it with the right layers.

WF3

So I went with a long sleeve gray sweater, it’s not a super thick material so you can wear it for multiple seasons and not just winter. Then I have a black vest with a faux fur collar, this vest is a little bit puffy so it keeps you warm. And I paired it with a these over the knee boots from JustFab. These are the Lyrica boots in black and they’re actually quite comfortable. JustFab and ShoeDazzle are two of my favorite places to shop for boots because they have such a great selection, so I’ll leave some links down below.

My third look is the cozy look. For the time in the day/weekend when you want to get cozy and just chill.

WF2

This one is pretty basic. I’ll go for a sweatshirt, the one I choose depends on how cold I am because they’re all vary in thickness. A pair of leggings, again, how cold I am will depend on the length of the leggings. And my slippers, these are from Deerfoam and they’re the best, so warm and comfy. Plus they have tread on the bottom so I can wear them outside if I need to without worrying about ruining them.

And my last winter look is the dressed up look. This or a version of this is what I’ll be wearing to Christmas parties/on Christmas Eve this year.

WF4

I love this outfit. I’m calling this a sweater dress, on me it’s long enough to be, and it’s a really nice dark blue with gold and cowl neck with three gold buttons. It’s so soft and keeps me warm. I paired that with some black leggings that have a leather strip down the side and a pair of peep toe pumps that are embellished with little gems. Definitely one of my favorite pairs of heels, they add a little extra to any outfit.

That about wraps it up for this post, what are your fashion go-tos during winter?

Until next time, have fun planning your outfits and stay warm this winter :).

A look into my shoe closet: Sandals and flip flops

Hi everyone,

Today I’m going to be doing a look into my shoe closet, sandals and flip flops edition. I did something similar to this a while ago with a look into my makeup collection and really liked it so I thought I would do another one. Being that we are in the heart of summer and these are the shoes I’m grabbing the most, I figured it was the perfect time to do this. If I can find links to any of these shoes I will put it down below.

Starting sandals, we have the Desii Flat Sandal from Shoe Dazzle. I’ve been looking for a good gladiator sandal for a while and when I came across these I was quite happy. What originally drew me to these opposed to other pairs was that it was laced with ribbon, I thought it was a great touch. Now I’ve only worn these twice since I bought them and while they are super cute and actually pretty comfortable, they take a minute to put on but once you’ve put them on a few times it’s not so bad. I bought these in black and I love the gold hardware but these do come in two other colors, taupe and blush and I might actually go back and buy the taupe because they are super cute and like the black, they’ll go with most outfits.

SS5

Next is a pair of Simply Vera Vera Wang sandals. These are gray and have three gray stones and silver hardware. They’re great for when you need to slip on something quick, but want a step up from a flip flop.

SS6

SS7

The second to last sandal is one I think I’ve talked about before, a while ago, and these are white with white and silver flowers.

SS8

SS9

The last sandal we have are flowered and I bought in two colors, silver and gold, because they are insanely comfortable and you can’t go wrong with adding a little extra color to an outfit. These are from Kohls, like the shoes above.

SS10

SS11

SS12

SS13

Moving on to the flip flop section of this post, the first pair I talked about in my Summer and Other Bits Haul post, they’re white with black polka dots and they are from Forever 21. These also come in black and red.

SS14

The next pair are gold with a gold glitter on the top and they are from Target. I will admit that I am not an active Target shopper, I’ve bought throw pillows and little things there, but that’s about it. Although after finding these, I might be doing more shopping at Target.

SS15

Now to Old Navy, I love Old Navy flip flops I find them to be super comfortable and they have a great selection of colors. That being said, this first group isn’t very colorful but I always like to have the basic colors. These I’ve had since last summer and these are the ones I just grab if I’m going to the store or running errands. I also have a green pair that are my outside work flip flops and I didn’t include them because they’re dirty.

SS16

This next group I bought this summer, because who doesn’t love a flip flop sale, and I wanted a little more color. Plus I needed another black pair, black is my go to and they’re starting to wear down a little.

SS17

That about wraps it up for this post, I really like doing posts like this so look out for more in the future. And I’d love to know, are you a sandal person or a flip flop person? Or do you like both or neither?

Until next time, you can never have too many summer shoe options and I hope you’re all having a great summer :).
