2023 Sephora Birthday Gift Review

Hi everyone,

It’s that time again, today I have for you a review of the 2023 Sephora Birthday Gift and not only that, but all of the options that you can choose from this year when your birthday comes around.

So, starting with what I got, I had a more difficult time picking this year, because I liked pretty much everything, but what I selected is the Ouai “The Ouai of Life” Set.

Packaging wise, it has the classic Sephora black polka dots, and on the front is has a gold ribbon, to give it the birthday feel.

On the top of the box it says ‘Happy Birthday’ in light pink. Under that it says ‘Joyeux Anniversaire’ which is Happy Birthday in French and below that it says, ‘Turn It All The Ouai Up!’

So, getting into it. This is a four piece set, which is the most out of all the sets and this set, unless I say otherwise, is available for all Sephora Beauty Insiders. It comes with a detox shampoo, a leave in conditioner, a body cleanser and a perfume.

First up, we have the Leave In Conditioner. This calls itself a multitasking product that will work all day to detangle, soften and smooth your hair. All while protecting against heat/other damage and reducing frizz and flyaways.

Next up we have the Detox Shampoo. This shampoo is made with apple cider vinegar and thus concentrated. It’s supposed to deeply cleanse away oil, dirt and any product buildup. It also has keratin, so while it’s detoxing, it’s helping to strengthen your hair.

The second to last product we have is the St. Bart’s Body Cleanser. This cleanser is exclusive to Sephora. It’s infused with the St. Bart’s scent, so it has notes of dragon fruit, orange blossom, tuberose and Baltic amber. It’s not the typical scent I would go for in a cleanser, but it smells pretty good and definitely has vacation vibes, which is great right now in the middle of winter.

And the last product we have is the Melrose Place Eau de parfum. This describes itself as a velvety rich rose fragrance with notes of bergamot, lychee, cedar wood and white musk. I really struggle with rose sometimes, it either has the perfect balance or it’s just so overpowering, so I was nervous to spray this. However, all of the other scents balance it so well, that it’s not overly rose, in fact it reminds me of another perfume, but it’s definitely a scent I would and will wear.

So, there are four other options you can have that are open to all Sephora Beauty Insiders. The first is the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Skincare Set. With this set you get the Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops. This is a multiuse highlighting serum that visibly reduces the look of hyperpigmentation and hydrates the skin for a reflective, dewy glow. You also get the Watermelon Glow Pore Tight Toner. This is a gentle PHA and BHA infused watermelon toner that minimizes the appearance of pores and hydrates the skin.

Next we have the ILIA Makeup Set. For those that don’t know, ILIA are a clean brand, and I know a lot of people look for that in a makeup brand. This set includes the Limitless Lash Mascara in After Midnight. This mascara is supposed to lift, lengthen, curl and separate lashes without smudging or flaking. You also get the Multi-Stick in At Last which is a mauve rose color. The multi-stick is for cheeks and lips and gives you a buildable wash of color.

Next, you can select 250 Bonus Points. This is a great option for those who like to spend their points on the regular or are saving them up for a specific product because it adds an additional 250 points to your Beauty Insider account.

And the last of the available to all, is the Dior Fragrance Set. This one is a bit tricky though. It pretty much sold out the day it was released, so it is now an In Store Only option. But, from my understanding not all stores had it, that may have changed, but the best thing to do, if you really want it, is to call your Sephora store or the ones in your area if there are multiple, and ask them if they have it. But, this set comes with two fragrances, the Miss Dior eau de parfum, which they say describe as a colorful floral bouquet. It celebrates the sensuality of the centifolia rose, is heightened by fresh lily of the valley along with spicy peony and is enveloped by powdery iris. The second fragrance is Sauvage eau de parfum, which is described as a captivating blend of Calabrian bergamot, nutmeg and vanilla absolute.

The last Birthday Gift option we have is for VIB and Rouge members only, and it’s the Farmacy Clean Skincare Set. This set includes the Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm, a face cleanser that gets rid of even the most stubborn makeup, SPF, oil and dirt while leaving your skin hydrated with no residue. The Honey Halo Ultra-Hydrating Ceramide Moisturizer, an intense moisturizer that replenishes distressed, dry skin with lasting hydration while visibly plumping and improving the look of fine lines. And the last thing you get is the Honey Potion Plus Ceramide Hydration Mask. A warming honey mask that intensely hydrates, nourishes and strengthens the skin’s moisture barrier. This is the upgraded formula, so it contains ceramides, upcycled apples and cica.

That about wraps it up for this post, there are a lot of great options this year, and I’m really happy with what I chose.

Until next time, have fun choosing, and I’d love to know what you go for :).

2022 Sephora Birthday Gift Review

Hi everyone,

As it’s January, it’s my birthday month. In fact my birthday was yesterday and one thing I do every year around my birthday is do a little shop at Sephora so I can get my Sephora Birthday Gift. This year I picked up some sheet masks and I also had a look through the Birthday Gifts this year and there’s a great selection. I’m going to show you what I picked, then go through the rest of the options.

So for me when I was looking through the gifts, it was a mix of what do I want/is there anything that I need in my makeup collection, meaning am I running out of anything. And I always like to keep on top of my setting products, so with that in mind I chose the Laura Mercier set. This is a two piece set, and I always think the boxes for these are so cute. You get a preview of the product on the front, on the sides there’s black and white polka dots and on top it says, ‘Joyeux Anniversaire! Happy Birthday!’

IMG_0335

IMG_0336

Like I said, this is a two piece set and it comes with a setting powder and an eyeshadow stick. The setting powder is the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder in Translucent. I used this a while ago, for quite a bit and I really liked it, so I’m happy to have it back in my makeup collection. And this one is a decent size, so that’s a major plus.

IMG_0337

The second part of this the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eyeshadow in Strapless, which is a Sephora exclusive shade.

IMG_0339

IMG_0340

Over the years I’ve tried a couple of the Caviar Sticks and they’re so good. This one is in a super pretty shimmery brown. This would be beautiful as an all over shade but you could also use this to create a more neutral smokey look.

IMG_0341

Next up we have Amika. Amika make some great haircare and all of their products that I’ve tried, I’ve liked. With this set you get three pieces, you get the Perk Up Dry Shampoo, Soulfood Nourishing Mask and a sample of the Flash Instant Shine Mask.

amika - amika Birthday Gift Set

Moving on we have Tatcha. This is also a three piece set, with it you get the Rice Wash Skin Softening Cleanser, Dewy Skin Cream Plumping and Hydrating Moisturizer and a sample of the Liquid Silk Canvas Primer.

Tatcha - Tatcha Birthday Gift Set

There will be four rotating gifts this year and the first is a two piece set from Olaplex. With it you get the No. 3 Hair Perfecter and the No. 8 Bond Intense Moisture Mask.

Olaplex - Olaplex Birthday Gift Set

If you shop from Sephora at Kohl’s or Kohls.com, you will see an exclusive gift and it’s actually the one I picked last year, a Nars set. With this set you get the Nars Laguna Bronzer and the Nars Afterglow Lip Balm in Laguna. You guys know that the Laguna bronzer is my go to and I’ve really been loving the Afterglow Lip Balm, so it’s a great option.

Sephora Birthday Gift 2021

Hi everyone,

Happy Friday! My birthday is coming up, it’s in a week and a half, and to celebrate I bought myself a little gift from Sephora, which will be getting it’s own post, but along with that I got to choose one of the 2021 Sephora Birthday Gifts.

There are a few to choose from, so what I’m going to do is show you what I picked then tell you about the rest of them. So I typically pick a makeup item, unless there’s another option that I really want, but this year the makeup item was something that I immediately wanted when I saw it, and that’s a Nars Laguna set.

IMG_7064

On the top of all Sephora Birthday Gifts it says ‘Happy Birthday!’ and ‘Joyeux Anniversaire!’

IMG_7065

In this set you get a mini Laguna Bronzer and a mini Afterglow Lip Balm in Laguna. I really like the packaging on this lip balm, it’s a nice shiny bronze with Nars written in white.

IMG_7066

The Afterglow Lip Balm is a moisturizing lip balm infused with a blend of antioxidents to protect and condition your lips. Color wise this is a shimmery bronze with gold. I did layer this up for the picture, but if you wanted just a light wash of color then one of two swipes of this would do the trick.

IMG_7067

IMG_7070

The Laguna Bronzer is something I was really excited to see because Nars bronzers are some of my favorites. This is a nice light/medium brown with gold shimmer in it. I also really like this packaging, it’s matte black with Nars written in shiny bronze. You also get a little mirror with this, which is great because this is the perfect size to throw in your handbag.

IMG_7068

IMG_7069

IMG_7071

The other birthday gift options are a Laneige Set that comes with a mini Lip Sleeping Mask, a mini Water Sleeping Mask and a mini Water Bank Moisture Cream. There’s a Moroccanoil Set that comes with a mini Hydrating Styling Cream, a mini Moroccanoil Treatment and a mini Night Body Serum. Something new that Sephora is doing this year is a revolving gift. This gift is available for all levels, Insider, Rouge and VIB, and each month it will be something different, but for this month the gift is a Kerastase Set that includes a mini Nutritive Shampoo and Conditioner.

That about wraps it up for this post, I’m super happy with my choice of gift and I would love to know which gift you would choose.

Until next time, enjoy the Sephora Birthday Gifts and you can never have too many bronzers :).

What I Got For Christmas 2020

Hi everyone,

Today I thought it would be fun to share with you guys what I got for Christmas. I do want to say that I’m in no way bragging, I like to watch and read these types of posts, and I find it fun to write them as well. So this year I didn’t have a real list of what I wanted, so I was happily surprised by a few of these gifts.

The first thing we have is what was in my stocking. Besides a bunch of my favorite candy, there were three other things. The first isn’t pictured because I already put it in my handbag, I have a little kit in my handbag that has all the essentials in it, and it was a mini deodorant. The nex thing was a Jergens Ultra Healing lotion, this has Vitamins C, E and B5 and moisturizes for 48 hours. This is one of my favorite lotions for winter, and I definitely recommend checking it out if you have dry skin or get drier skin during the winter months. And the last thing in my stocking was a Duracell 500 Lumen LED flashlight. This flashlight is stupidly bright, it has four different settings and it’s a mini so you get a great flashlight that fits in your hand and would definitely fit in your handbag if you wanted a handbag flashlight.

IMG_6960

So switching to gifts and starting with beauty, I have a couple of makeup related items. The first is the Too Faced Enchanted Beauty Unbearably Glam Collection. I think that the Too Faced holiday collection is great this year, everything is really pretty, but the Unbearably Glam had the colors that interested me the most. I’m not going to show too much of this because I’m going to do a whole post about it. But I will say that I really like the packaging, it’s got a nice holographic look to it and I like all the detail with the bear. This is a three piece set, so you get an eyeshadow palette, a face palette that has a blush and highlight and a mascara. I used this palette today and so far I’m impressed.

IMG_6956

IMG_6957

The second beauty related item I didn’t take a picture of because it wasn’t in the stack with the other gifts. I think it’s in my wallet though. But it’s a Sephora gift card. There was a couple of holiday things I wanted from Sephora, but they sold out super quick, so I was given a gift card and with my birthday coming up, I’ll be putting it to good use.

Moving on, I have a couple of fashion related items. The first is a USC shirt. I really like the style of this, I don’t have any long sleeved USC gear and it fits great.

IMG_6961

Next we have a green/blue cropped long sleeved shirt. This has lace detail, cute buttons and it came knotted at the bottom. This is like a light sweater, it’s very soft and it’s super cute on. I tried all of these items on, but I haven’t worn any of them yet.

IMG_6962

The second to last clothing item we have is a dark gray cropped Beatles sweatshirt. This says ‘The Beatles’ on the hood in multiple colors, as the Abbey Road album cover on the front with ‘The Beatles’ written below. This is super soft and keeps me nice and warm.

IMG_6963

IMG_6964

The last clothing item we have is a light pink cropped sweater. This is crocheted/knitted so it has a ton of detail and it has three big buttons down the front. This is adorable on and is actually pretty warm.

IMG_6965

Next we have some practical things. The first is a 2021 Erin Condren planner. The Erin Condren Life Planner has been an absolute game changer for me and I love it. The pattern that I went for this time is the zodiac and it’s customizable, so I went with Capricorn, because I am a Capricorn and my name is on it. It also came with a to do list pad and some gift tags.

IMG_6958

IMG_6959

The second practical thing I got is a calendar. I have a couple of different calendars that I use for different things, but this is my main calendar. I always like a theme for calendars, so I went with a jet theme and there’s so super cool pictures. I also like that this calendar has a ‘on this day in military history’ fact for every day of the month. This is the first time I’ve seen that on a calendar and I love military history, so it’s a win-win.

IMG_6954

IMG_6955

I have two gifts that haven’t come yet, but I’m so excited about both of them. The first is actually a practical thing and it’s a pair of blue light glasses. I’ve wanted a good pair forever and recently I’ve been spending more time on my computer, so these will definitely be great to have. And the other is music related. It’s a Beatles songbook for ukulele. It has 100 songs, lyrics, chord symbols and chord diagrams. I’m always looking for ukulele sheet music for Beatles songs and online it can be hit and miss, so I can’t wait to have a legit book.

The last thing I got for Christmas is also music related and it’s a ukulele. But not just any ukulele, this is an Epiphone Les Paul Acoustic-Electric Concert Ukulele in Vintage Sunburst. I pretty much haven’t been able to stop staring at this since I got it, it’s everything I thought it would be and more. I tuned it yesterday and have played around with it a little bit and it has such an incredible tone. I do want to get an amp to plug it into, so I can use it acoustically and electrically. I also want to get a strap for it, so if you guys have any recommendations for good ukulele straps let me know.

IMG_6923

That about wraps it up for this post, I’d love to know what you guys got for Christmas.

Until next time, enjoy your gifts and I hope you all had a great Christmas :).

Blogmas Day Two: Black Friday Haul

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day Two! Today we’re going to be doing a Black Friday haul. I did a bit of shopping during Black Friday and Cyber Monday and most of it was Christmas gifts for others, so the few things that I bought for myself is what I’m going to be showing you today.

IMG_6722

You’ll notice that I included the e.l.f. Haute Chocolate Eyes Sugar Cookie palette in this picture and that’s because I did buy it during a pre-Black Friday sale and originally this post was supposed to be the first one of Blogmas, but I was still waiting for a few things to be delivered so I swapped the posts. I will link yesterday’s post below if you haven’t read it.

IMG_6715

IMG_6716

Sticking with the theme of makeup, I picked up one of the Too Faced Twinkle Twinkle Liquid Glitter Eyeshadows. This one is in the shade Candied Rose. These are high shine, multi-dimensional liquid glitter eyeshadows that give you great color payoff, but they dry down really quickly and are really long lasting. These are on sale right now on the Too Faced website for $5.50, so get them now if you want one. I know I’m going to be getting a few more.

IMG_6728

IMG_6727

IMG_6729

Moving to skincare, I picked up a few things from Sephora and the Sephora Collection. I really like the SC face masks, so I picked up a trio.

IMG_6723

The first one I got is the Watermelon After Sun Mask. This comes with a face mask and a decollete mask and is for quenching and tan perfecting. This one isn’t exactly a winter mask, but I do like to keep the after sun masks in face mask drawer just to have them.

IMG_6724

The next mask is a Lychee face mask that is Ultra Moisturizing and Brightening. I haven’t tried the lychee SC face mask before, but I do love a brightening and moisturizing mask, especially in the winter so I’m excited to try this one.

IMG_6725

And the last one I got is a Charcoal Nose Strip. I don’t actually do nose strips that often, but I do like the charcoal ones. They’re really purifying and I think they work the best.

IMG_6726

And the last thing I bought is a blanket, but not just any blanket, a super plush and oversized blanket. I got this at Kohl’s and they had a huge selection in terms of pattern and I picked this geometric blue one.

IMG_6730

They weren’t wrong when they said super plush and oversized. This is probably the softest blanket I own and it’s the perfect thickness for a blanket this cozy.

IMG_6732

In terms of size, it’s 5ft by 6ft and you can comfortably use the short side of it. 10/10 recommend if you’re looking for a blanket for yourself or as a gift for someone.

IMG_6731

That about wraps it up for this post, if you guys picked up anything during Black Friday, I’d love to know what you got.

Until next time, have fun shopping and I hope you’re enjoying Blogmas so far :).

Sephora Haul; Too Faced, KVD And More

Hi everyone,

Recently I placed a little Sephora order and because I just got everything delivered, I thought it would be the perfect time to go through it and show you what I bought with a little review thrown in.

The first thing I picked up is the Too Faced Pretty Rich Diamond Light Eyeshadow palette. I’ve been wanting this for a while, I think it’s a gorgeous palette and it was on sale, so it was the perfect time to get it.

IMG_5634

This palette is a diamond shape with 16 shadows and a cute little mirror on the top.

IMG_5635

Within these 16 shadows you get 4 gel pressed glitters and those are the ones that are shaped like diamonds. I really like the way this palette is laid out and the color story is quite nice.

IMG_5636

I swatched this on my arm row by row like it shows in the palette. The first row is more like lighter to medium neutrals. The first shadow we have is the glitter and it’s Diamonds For Breakfast. This is a silvery glitter with a little bit of red and brown glitter mixed in. Next to that is It’s Designer, a really light matte nude, then there’s Fancy That, a matte taupey shade. And the last shade in the row is Filthy Rich, a shimmery lighter brown with gold shimmer. I can tell this is going to be one of my go to shadows.

IMG_5637

The second row is all about pinks. The first shadow we have is Clutch Your Pearls. In the pan this looks like a nice white with maybe a little pink/purple, but when this hits the light it’s incredible. It has that duo chrome effect so when it is in the light you really see that pinky purple. It’s so pretty. Next to that is Princess Cut, this is a super pretty goldy/pink. It is on the lighter side but it does have some bigger glitter flecks in it that really pump up the shadow. Then there’s the glitter, Diamond Glitterati. This is a deeper pink and when I look at this it makes me think Barbie. The last shadow in this row is Highly Selective and that is a shimmery rose gold.

IMG_5638

The third row is golds and browns and starts with the glitter, Fluent In Diamonds. This is a medium gold and if you were wanting a straight up gold glitter, this would be the one to pick. Next to that is It’s Cashmere, a matte cashmere brown, this would be a great transition shade. Then there’s Don’t Carat All, which is a shimmery gold that is somewhere between light and medium, it doesn’t have as yellow of an undertone as Fluent In Diamonds. And the last shadow in this row is Oh, That’s Rich! and that is a deep chocolate matte brown.

IMG_5639

And the last row is the deeper shades, silvers, blues and black. The first shadow we have is Coal Under Pressure. This is what I would call somewhere between a medium and deep black, you can see a little bit of maybe blue when you swatch it and it has these big flecks of silver glitter. Next to that is Silver Spoon, which is deeper shimmery silver and it looks like it has some blue undertones as well. It’s unlike any other silver shadow I have. Then there’s Set The Jewel Tone, which is a shadow I’m super excited about. This is an absolutely gorgeous shimmery blue, it’s almost sapphire blue. And the last shadow in this row is the glitter, Diamond Life. This is going to be a great topper for a number of looks. It has a mix of white, blue, black and a darker silver glitter. It’s a very well thought out glitter in my opinion.

IMG_5640

I’m honestly so impressed with this palette, if these shadows are as good on the eye as they were in the swatches, then I can see this becoming one of my most used palettes.

The next thing I picked up is a KVD Vegan Beauty Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in the shade Muneca. I have a few of the Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks and they’re some of my favorites. The formulas are great and they have fantastic staying power. This one in particular is a peachy/salmony pink which is a shade I really like and it’s absolutely perfect for summer.

IMG_5632

IMG_5633

The last thing I want to talk about is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Lash Brag Mascara. I had been really wanting to try this out before committing to buy the full size or even the mini, and I was able to get one of the deluxe samples. I was initially excited to try this because I had been hearing good things and with this you do get a good size wand, but honestly, at least for me, it’s just alright. It’s not the worst mascara I’ve ever used but it’s certainly not the best. It just didn’t give me as much volume or length as I was hoping for.

IMG_5630

IMG_5631

That about wraps it up for this post, overall I’m super happy with everything and I can’t wait to use the palette and the lipstick.

Until next time, have fun shopping and you can never have too many eyeshadow palettes, or liquid lipsticks :).

Sephora Birthday Gift 2020

Hi everyone,

Today I’m going to be talking about the 2020 Sephora birthday gift. January has been so busy for me that I totally forgot about it until I opened my Sephora app the other day and got the reminder. So there is a couple of different options with the birthday gift, for those who are Beauty Insiders you can choose from the Milk Makeup Mascara and Lip + Cheek Set, which includes the Kush Mascara, Lip + Cheek stick which is a dusty rose color that doubles as a blush and lip color and a Hydro Grip Primer packet. The Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Cream and Coco Cabana Cream Set and the Briogeo Mini Charcoal + Coconut Oil Shampoo and Mini Deep Conditioning Mask Set. Those who are VIB and Rouge can choose from those three along with an exclusive of a Jo Malone Mini Wood Sage and Sea Salt Cologne.

I chose the Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Cream and Coco Cabana Cream Set. The Bum Bum cream is one of my favorites so this was an easy choice for me. On the top of the box it says Happy Birthday! Joyeux Anniversaire! Feliz Aniversario! Which I think is a nice little detail.

IMG_5033

IMG_5034

So I have used, and am currently using, the Bum Bum cream. It’s one of my favorite lotions and scents. This is quick absorbing and really does help to smooth the skin. It has guarana, a native Amazonian plant, cupuacu butter, acai and coconut oil.

IMG_5036

IMG_5035

The Coco Cabana cream is one that I haven’t tried but I’ve heard a ton of great things about it and now I can tell you that it smells amazing. They call it a moisture rich oil-in-water cream that instantly soothes and hydrates the skin. I did do a little test and it feels really moisturizing. It has a blend of CocoSugar which is supposed to draw moisture from the air when it’s applied, coconut oil and cupuacu butter which is helps to lock in moisture and heighten the hydration of the skin.

IMG_5037

IMG_5038

That about wraps it up for this post, overall I’m super happy with my choice of birthday gift and excited to incorporate these creams into my bodycare routine. If you guys use these creams I’d love to know which scent is your favorite.

Until next time, enjoy the Sephora birthday gifts and you can never have too many body lotions :).

Sephora Collection Frosted Kisses Review

Hi everyone,

Today I’m going to be reviewing the Sephora Collection Frosted Kisses #Lipstories set. This is a winter themed lipstick set and Sephora has a ton of individual #Lipstories lipsticks and this set in particular is six of their most popular shades wrapped in holiday packaging. The six lipsticks come in three different finishes, so there’s one cream, two metals and three mattes.

IMG_4934

IMG_4782

The first lipstick we have is 36, Ice Dancing. This is the cream and it’s a really pretty pink. It’s a deeper pink that I would say is almost a dusty rose, but for a cream lipstick it has great staying power and stands up well to eating and drinking.

IMG_4935

IMG_4936

IMG_4947

Next we have one of the mattes, 31, Sweater Weather. I really like the formulation on these mattes, they feel light on the lips and they don’t dry out my lips like some matte lipsticks can. This one in particular is berry toned and it’s like the perfect berry. It’s so pretty and adds a lot of depth to any look.

IMG_4937

IMG_4938

IMG_4948

Moving on, we have the first of the metals, 71, Campfire Cutie. This is straight up gold lipstick. When I swatched it I didn’t know what to even think because I don’t own a gold lipstick and I’ve never worn one but it’s so pretty and the metals make for great toppers.

IMG_4939

IMG_4940

IMG_4949

Next we have another matte, 23, Cabin Fever. This is a really nice red, it is a deeper red but not too deep that it starts to get berry-ish.

IMG_4941

IMG_4942

IMG_4950

The second to last lipstick we have is 69, Winter Blizzard. This is the other metal and it is so, so gorgeous. It’s a metallic white base with pink shimmer and when it hits the light it gives off this iridescent shimmer. It makes a great topper and I have it on today.

IMG_4943

IMG_4944

IMG_4951

And the last lipstick we have is 58, Snow Day. This is a really deep, rich, matte chocolate brown. I haven’t worn this one yet but I don’t have any brown lipsticks that are quite this dark so it makes a nice addition to my lipstick drawer.

IMG_4945

IMG_4946

IMG_4952

That about wraps it up for this post, if any of you guys have this set let me know which shade is your favorite and if not I’d love to know what your current favorite lipstick is.

Until next time, have fun creating different looks and you can never have too many lipsticks :).

Blogmas Day Ten: Sephora Play, A Year In Review

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day Ten! Today I thought it would be fun to go through the Sephora Play Boxes I’ve received this year and let you guys know what I’m still loving and what I’ve repurchased. I do a monthly favorites, so I won’t be going super in depth for each box. And full disclosure, I haven’t received my December Play Box yet, but I will be doing an unboxing. That being said, let’s get into it.

The first bag I received was February.

FBSP1

This was a great first bag of the year and I genuinely like everything in this bag. The Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Maple has become one of my go to red lipsticks. I will leave a link down below to each post if you guys want more info on each of the products.

MRSP1

March brought a little bit of everything, which I always appreciate. The products that I use the most now out of this bag are the Amika Dry Shampoo, the Nars Bronzer and the Sephora Collection Mascara. I do really like that IT Cosmetics Cleanser, but I used the one I had and just haven’t repurchased yet.

With the April Box came a change in color of the bag and some great products. The Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment in Dream secured itself a place on my nightstand, I actually need to repurchase because mine is almost empty. You guys know how much I love the Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream and the Make Up For Ever Primer is great.

MYSP1

The May Box reunited me with a skincare favorite, the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Deep Dive Cleansing Gel. Gave me a summer skincare favorite, the KORA Organics Noni Glow Face Oil and I got a backup for one of my all time favorite mascaras, Benefit BADgal BANG!

JUSP1

June was another differently colored bag and it was very skincare heavy. The Sephora Collection All Day Hydrator-Hydrate and Glow was one of my absolute favorites during the summer. The Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Quench Hydrating Primer made itself back into the front of my primer drawer and since June you guys have seen how much I love the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask in Vanilla.

JLSP1

In July I added to my always growing Bite Beauty collection in my lipstick drawer with the Matte Cream Lip Crayon in Glace, when I received this I already had this exact one but it was basically empty so I was happy to see this because this is one of my favorite shades. The Marc Jacobs Daisy Love Eau So Sweet made it’s way onto my fragrance shelf, the OG Daisy is one of my all time favorite scents, but the whole Daisy collection is so nice.

AUSP1

The August Box was great, I loved the color of the bag and it was full of great products. Most of which I’m still using.

SPSP1

September was another fantastic bag. This is yet another month where I’m still using and loving everything in the bag. And it was a good mix of skincare and makeup products.

OCTSP1

In October I received a mini of one of my all time favorite, holy grail products, the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray. I keep this one in my handbag makeup bag and it’s a great size to carry around. I was given another of the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Quench Hydrating Primer, also kept in my handbag makeup bag. And I think this is one of the first times this Sephora Play year that I’ve had genuine product disappointment. I was so excited to try the WASO: Clear Mega-Hydrating Moisturizer and I did really like the feel of it when I put it on initially but there was something in there my skin did not like and it broke me out. But one good thing about Sephora Play is along with finding things you love, you get to try new products and not like them without paying full price for them.

NVSP5

The November box was honestly amazing. I so love everything in here and the bag itself is a lovely purple. I’m wearing three of these products right now actually, the Glamglow Glamstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer, Lancôme Hypnose Drama Instant Full Body Mascara and Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium perfume. It’s all so good.

That about wraps it up for this post, Sephora has sent me a ton of amazing products this year. I love how they switched up the color of the bags and I’m excited to see what’s in my December Box. If any of you guys were doing Play this year I’d love to know what your favorites were.

Until next time, Sephora Play was and is definitely worth it and I’m excited to continue next year :).

Sephora Favorites Lashstash Review

Hi everyone,

Today I have a fun post for you, it was my birthday last Friday and one of the presents I received was the Sephora Favorites Lashstash. This is a set of ten mascaras, two of which are full size. I love trying different mascaras, so this was a great gift. I really like this packaging, the box is in a sleeve that has a picture of all of the mascaras and a description of them on the back. Once you take that off you see a nice pinky purple box with what I would describe as up close images of glitter and sparkles. On the inside it says Love, Sephora #sephorafavorites and all the mascaras are lined up.

The first mascara we have is full size and it’s the Urban Decay Perversion Bigger, Blacker, Badder in Black. I haven’t tried all of them yet, but this one I have worn and I quite like it. Prior to this I hadn’t worn Urban Decay mascara, so I was excited to try it. It not only gave my lashes volume, but they looked longer and it went on really smooth. The brush is more of a big and fluffy-ish brush and when I saw it I expected there would be some clumping but there really wasn’t.

sfl6

The second mascara we have is the Milk Makeup Kush Mascara in Boom. I am a Milk Makeup newbie, I haven’t tried any of their products. So I’m interested to try this and see what it does for my lashes, I have heard good things. And this is supposed to give you long lasting high volume.

Next we have the Hourglass Caution Extreme Lash Mascara in Ultra Black. As a brand, I really like Hourglass. Their Ambient Lighting Powders are incredible and their foundation sticks are really nice. So, when I saw this mascara I was excited by it. I have worn this and it gave me really nice, full lashes. One coat probably would have done it, but I never do just one coat, and I was happily surprised at not only how buildable this is, but at how light it felt after layering. And this brush is cool in the fact that the end isn’t pointed, I guess I would call it tapered, and I was able to get all of my lashes successfully.

sfl10

sfl11

Moving on, we have the Smashbox Super Fan Fanned-Out Mascara in Black. This is the first mascara that I tried when I got this box and it definitely does what it says on the tin. My lashes were lengthened and fanned out and I really liked the look. This has a silicone brush and it’s a 360 design, so no matter how you turn it, you’re getting the mascara. I know some people don’t like the silicone brushes, but I’ve never had a problem and this one is nice, the bristles are the perfect length.

sfl12

sfl13

There are three mascaras in this box that I use regularly and love, and this is one of them. It’s the Sephora Collection LashCraft Big Volume Mascara in Black. This mascara really does give you big volume and it has jojoba oil so it doesn’t flake or clump. The brush is curved in the middle so you get maximum coverage.

sfl14

sfl15

The next mascara that I use and love has been my go-to holy grail mascara forever and it’s Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. I always get full, defined and luscious lashes and this has a permanent spot in my makeup bag.

sfl16

sfl17

Moving on, we have the second full size mascara, Lancôme Hypnose Drama Instant Full Body Volume Mascara in 01 Excessive Black. I’ve never worn a Lancôme mascara before, but I was intrigued by this one. The brush has a pretty serious curve in it and it’s supposed to give you big lashes in one coat, so I’ll let you guys know what I think.

sfl18

sfl19

sfl20

The third mascara that I use and love is the Marc Jacobs Beauty Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara in Noir. You really do get major volume from this and it has a nice big brush.

sfl21

sfl22

The second to last mascara isn’t a mascara, it’s the Dior Diorshow Maximizer 3D/ Triple Volume Plumping Lash Primer. I’ve never worn a lash primer, but my mom really likes them, so I’ll give this a try and see what I think.

sfl24

sfl23

sfl25

And the last mascara we have is the Benefit BAD gal BANG! Mascara in Black. There was a lot of hype when this came out and now I fully understand why. The length and volume you get from this is insane. I was really impressed and this will for sure have a place in my makeup bag. The brush is a long, skinnier silicone brush that has a lot of flex in it, so you can get all of your lashes.

sfl26

sfl27

That about wraps it up for this post, if you guys have tried/use any of these regularly let me know which one and if you have this box, I’d love to know which is your favorite.

Until next time, you can never have too many mascaras and may your lashes always be full :).
