October Favorites

Hi everyone,

Happy November and happy Friday! I’m a day late with this post, but today I’m going to be doing my October favorites. October was a busy month for me but I managed to get a good mix of favorites together. With that being said, let’s get into it.

Starting with beauty, I have two favorites from my October Sephora Play Box and I’ll link that below for anyone that hasn’t read it. The first is the Tarte Rainforest Of The Sea Quench Hydrating Primer. I have put this in a favorites before but it’s just so good. It has marine plant extracts, which really hydrate and give you a great base to work with. And it does a great job of locking in your makeup.

OCTSP5

My last Sephora Play favorite is the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray. This is the holy grail of setting sprays. This is very cooling and helps to lower the temperature of your makeup so it doesn’t melt. And once it dries your makeup is set for up to 16 hours. It’s just the best, I will always recommend this.

OCTSP6

My second to last beauty favorite is the makeup I did for a Halloween party I went to. I took to Pinterest to try and find a look that would fit perfectly with my costume and I ended up taking my favorite elements from a few different looks to make this. I’m very happy with the way it came out.

OCTF1

And my last beauty favorite is the Halloween makeup I did yesterday. I wanted something fun and wearable but with a little Halloween twist. So I came up with this and I’m super happy with it.

OCTF5

Moving on my next favorite is my costume from the Halloween party I went to. I don’t know if you could really tell from the first picture, but this year I was a flapper and it was a fun time.

OCTF2

My second to last favorite is pumpkin carving. I always love carving pumpkins and letting my creative side come out. Normally I go for a big pumpkin but this one was more on the medium sized side but it ended up being perfect.

OCTF3

OCTF4

OCTF6

And my last favorite is a music favorite and it’s Ringo Starr’s new album What’s My Name. I haven’t sat down and listened to every single song yet but I have heard most of them and it’s a solid album. Grow Old With Me absolutely makes me cry every time I listen to it, especially knowing the story behind it but I definitely recommend giving it a listen if you haven’t yet.

That about wraps it up for this post. If we had any of the same favorites this month let me know and if not I’d love to know what your favorites were.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope you had a great October :).

October favorites

Hi everyone,

Happy Halloween! Today as it’s the last day of the month I’m going to be doing my October favorites, and yes I’m listening to my Halloween playlist while I do this and I’ll link that down below for anyone that wants to have a listen. I have some fun favorites this month, so let’s get into it.

Starting with beauty, I have one favorite from my October Sephora Play Box. I ended up getting it really late, so I haven’t had a lot of time to test things out. But I have been using one thing, I actually used it this morning, and it’s the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Quench Hydrating Primer. This primer has hyaluronic acid, marine plant and algae extracts and I can tell a difference with my skin. It feels softer and smoother and I’m really liking it. I will definitely be purchasing a full size version.

OSP4

My next beauty favorite is some lipsticks and not just any lipsticks, these are Givenchy Le Rouge Liquide lipsticks. I got a sample of three with a Sephora order and I really liked them so I ordered them and I’m looking at which ones to buy next. The three that I have are 202 Rose Flanelle, 309 L’ Interdit and 410 Rouge Suedine. I don’t have a picture wearing 309, but the next time I wear it I’ll post one to my social medias. These lipsticks are a velvet matte, they’re long lasting and the color payoff is great. I definitely recommend these.

My next favorite is baseball related, and speaking of which, I want to congratulate the Boston Red Sox on winning the World Series! They were stellar and it was so much fun to watch. But my baseball related favorite has to do with the Seattle Mariners. Towards the end of the season they always do a fan appreciation night and give away prizes and fun experiences. The Mariners team store also does giveaways and on Twitter they said that if you retweeted a certain tweet of theirs and followed them then you could win a Nelson Cruz jersey. I was already following them and I think contests like that are a bit of fun, so I retweeted and I was one of the five winners! I was really surprised and happy that I decided to do it. I love Nelson Cruz and the jersey is great, so it’s a win win.

OCF3

My second to last favorites are music favorites. The first is Eric Clapton’s new Christmas album Happy Xmas. I won’t go into it too much because I’m going to be doing a full review of it in December. But what I will say is that I wanted him to do a Christmas album for the longest time and I’m so happy that it finally happened. It’s everything I wanted it to be and more, definitely go and give it a listen.

My second music favorite is Take That’s new song Out Of Our Heads from their forthcoming album Odyssey. This song is really, really fun. It’s different but at the same time it’s very Take That. It’s very bouncy and old school, the work with the horns is fantastic. Like something you would hear in a club in the old days.

And my last favorite is Halloween. I like to do something fun with my makeup and today I tried something that I hadn’t done before and I’m not a makeup artist by any means but I’m really pleased with how it came out. And I always carve a pumpkin, which I did yesterday. I went for the more sinister/scary vibe and I think it turned out great and once I light it up I’ll be posting pictures to my social medias.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we had any of the same favorites let me know and if not I’d love to know what your favorites were this month.

Until next time, I hope you all had a great October and Happy Halloween! 🙂

October favorites

Hi everyone,

First off I want to say happy November. I can’t believe this year has gone by so fast, but as it is the first of the month I thought it would be a good time to do my October favorites. Starting with beauty, I have a couple of favorites from my October Glam Bag. If you haven’t yet read that post I will link it down below. The first is the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream. I’ve been using this everyday since I got it and I absolutely love it. I don’t have particularly dry skin, but it is getting colder and the cold can be harsh on your skin and this is the perfect thing to combat that. I definitely recommend it.

OGB2

My next favorite is the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion. This is one of my favorite pencil liners that I’ve used. It glides on smooth and once it’s on it doesn’t smudge. However, I am the type that if I’m going to mess up my liner it’s going to be with a pencil opposed to a liquid, so if you do happen to mess this up or smudge while applying it can get a little messy. And definitely don’t be like me and try to do eyeliner in the car. But besides that, I love it.

OGB3

Next up we have the MDMflow Liquid Matte Lipstick in Retro. I can’t express how much I love this lipstick. I absolutely love the color and the formulation and staying power are amazing. It’s a very well made product and I want to wear all of the MDMflow lipsticks. Definitely check them out.

OGB5

And here’s a picture of me wearing the Urban Decay liner and this MDMflow lipstick.

OF9

And my last favorite is a Pretty Woman NYC nail polish in the shade Wine With Ice, Garçon. I’ve mentioned how much I love the Pretty Woman NYC nail polishes, they last and the formulation is really nice. And this one in particular, it being a deep wine color, is the perfect shade for fall.

OGB7

OF10

Moving on, I have a food favorite. And it’s the Yoplait French style Oui yogurt. These yogurts are thick, creamy and only made with a few ingredients and I really like them. They come in these little glass pots and I think they’re the perfect size. There are a couple of different flavors, but my favorites are the Vanilla, Black Cherry and Lemon.

OF1

My second to last favorite is Halloween. Halloween kicks off the holiday season and it’s always been one of my favorites. I love to dress up and be festive. I went to a Halloween party like I do every year and I honestly changed my mind on my costume like four times, but I ended up going as a cowgirl and I had a lot of fun.

OF2

OF3

OF4

It is worth noting that my lipstick is the Too Faced Melted Matte lipstick in Lady Balls, it’s one of my favorite red lipsticks, and my boots are from Just Fab.

I also carved a pumpkin because you can’t have Halloween without pumpkins and I went with a bat design this year.

OF6

OF7

OF8

And my last favorite is a music favorite. And it’s two songs from Eric Clapton’s Behind The Sun album. Behind The Sun has always been an album that I liked and it has some fantastic songs on it. The first is It All Depends and the second is Something’s Happening. These two songs are so different but they’re both amazing and if you haven’t heard them or any other songs from the album definitely give them a listen. It’s so worth it.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we had any of the same favorites in October let me know and if not I’d love to know what your favorites were.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope everyone had a great October :).

Pumpkins and Halloween playlist

Hi everyone,

As today is Halloween, I wanted to do a post that is purely fun. And to start I wanted to talk about music. Whether you are having/ going to a party tonight or just want a fun soundtrack to have on in the background, I’ve complied a list of some of my favorite songs for Halloween. So on the top of my list are the classic Halloween songs: I Put A Spell On You; there are so many versions of this song, but my favorites are by John Fogerty, Joe Cocker, and of course the one Better Midler sang in Hocus Pocus, my favorite Halloween movie. Next we have Time Warp from the Rocky Horror Picture Show, Monster Mash, I think the best version is by Don Hinson, next we have Ghostbusters from the movie Ghostbusters, and finally we have Thriller by Michael Jackson because it’s not Halloween without a little MJ. Moving along, we have songs that weren’t made specifically for Halloween, but definitely have that vibe. First up is Werewolves of London by Warren Zevon, such a fun song. Next is Superstition by Stevie Wonder. The third song is Bat Out of Hell by Meat Loaf, I wasn’t sure initially about including this one, but I like it, it’s fun. Next we have Black Magic by Little Mix, one of my recent favorites for sure. This next one could go either way with the Halloween theme, but I figured I’d put it in anyway and it’s Highway to Hell by AC/DC. The last two are moon themed. The first is Bad Moon Rising by Creedence Clearwater Revival, CCR, or if you like John Fogerty has his own solo version with his band. And the last song is one of my absolute favorites and that is Cajun Moon by Eric Clapton. This is from the album Eric Clapton & Friends: The Breeze, An Appreciation of JJ Cale. So this is one of JJ’s songs and I think it’s great. Definitely check out all of these songs if you haven’t heard them before because they are all really great :).

Now on to the next part of the blog, the pumpkin part :). So last week I went and got a pumpkin and yesterday I finally got the chance to carve it. I always tend to go for bigger pumpkins because there is more surface area for whichever design I choose. But this one was big, 21 pounds big.

img_4829

It didn’t take me as long as I thought it would to scrape it out, but it was definitely an arm workout.

img_4832

I’m honestly so, so pleased with the way it came out and I can’t wait to see what it looks like when it’s lit up.

That about wraps it up for this post. I hope you guys like the playlist I put together and maybe you’ll find a new favorite song, who knows?

Until next time, enjoy your night, whatever you may be doing and Happy Halloween!
