July Favorites

Hi everyone,

As it’s the end of the month, I thought today would be the perfect day to talk about my July favorites. I have an interesting mix this month, so let’s get into it.

Starting with beauty, I have a couple of favorites from my July Sephora Play Box, I’ll of course link that post below if you haven’t read it. And my Play favorite is the Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover for Lids, Lashes and Lips. You guys know how much I love this. I’ve been using it for ages and it not only takes off every stay proof, waterproof, long lasting bit of makeup, but it does so with a gentle formula so there’s no scrubbing or irritation.

Next up we have the Bite Beauty Matte Crème Lip Crayon in Glace. Again, this is something I’ve been using for a little while and it’s just so good. This particular shade is like a dusty mauve and it’s so pretty. These lip crayons are super pigmented and really long wearing. I have quite a few Bite Beauty products and honestly they’re all great. If you’ve never checked them out then I highly recommend doing so.

My last Play favorite is the Marc Jacobs Fragrances Daisy Love Eau So Sweet. This is a scent that I would describe as very summery. It’s floral, fruity and just a little bit sugary, which is perfect. This isn’t one of those perfumes that you have to worry about being completely faded by the end of the day, it wears well and lasts a long time. I definitely recommend smelling this if you haven’t and you get the chance.

JLSP9

My second to last beauty favorite is the Pantene Intense Rescue Shots. I received this first in my Walmart Beauty Box, link below, and in my Target Beauty Box later, link below. So I figured I would give it a try. I take pretty good care of my hair so I didn’t know if it would really do a lot, but I have to say that I’m impressed. You use this after you’ve shampooed and conditioned and you apply it from the middle of your hair to the ends. It’s purpose is to target any damage you may have and to help prevent split ends, what I’ve noticed is that the portion of my hair I applied it has been softer than normal and I quite like that.

And my last beauty favorite is Aloe Vera. Earlier this month I was doing something I’m going to talk about later in this post, outside in the heat of the day, for a long period of time, and I got the worst sunburn I’ve had in a really long time. It was so red and so painful and using aloe absolutely saved me. It ended up not peeling and actually turned into a nice little tan.

My next favorite is a book and it’s Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. I talked about the show adaptation in my favorites last month and after watching and loving that I decided that I had to read the book. I absolutely loved it, it was so funny and now I fully understand why so many people have loved this book for so long. It’s just fantastic. I 1000% recommend reading it if you haven’t and watching the show because David Tennant and Michael Sheen are incredible and do an outstanding job of bringing the characters to life.

Moving on, my next favorite is my sunflowers and the planter box I built for them, aka the thing that caused my sunburn. Back in June a neighbor of mine told me she had some extra sunflower starts that she didn’t have a use for and I very happily took them off her hands. I knew that sunflowers like to root pretty deep and have space to grow so I decided to build my own planter box. It came out so good, I’m super happy with it and the sunflowers have been thriving since I put them in there. I have to give a shout out to my dad for helping me with this because my woodworking experience is limited.

And my last favorite is a music favorite. It’s the song Superstitious by Europe. I feel like Europe is a band that gets forgotten about/people don’t know has more songs than Final Countdown. But my discovering this song was totally random, it popped up in my recommended on YouTube and I’m glad I clicked because I really like it. I listen to a lot of music and this song has one of, in my opinion, the best guitar solos. It’s just so good. And I would definitely say to give this song a listen if you haven’t, it’s pretty great.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we had any of the same favorites this month let me know and if not I’d love to know what your July favorites were.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope you had a great July :).

Target Beauty Box Review

Hi everyone,

Today I’m going to be doing a post that I wanted to do for a little while and that is a Target Beauty Box review. I mentioned in my review of the Target Men’s Box that I was sent that by mistake instead of what I actually ordered, but that was sorted quickly and now here we are. I had been hearing about the Target Beauty Box for a bit but I hadn’t tried it, and now that I subscribe to the Walmart Beauty Box I thought it would be interesting to compare the two. So before we get into it I want to mention that the box that I purchased is from June. When I made the purchase the July box was available, but after looking at the two I decided that this one had more items that I would end up using, so that’s what I went with. The box itself is white and the lid is bright and multicolored with birds and some landscape elements. In the middle is the Target logo with ‘beauty’ next to it in black. On the inside surrounding the products is light pink tissue paper.

So the first product we have is the Pantene Intense Rescue Shots. This is supposed to treat any damage you have and help to prevent split ends. I actually received this in my most recent Walmart box, and I have been trying it out. I won’t say too much because I want to talk about it in an upcoming post, but I have noticed that the ends of my hair have been extra soft.

TBB3

Next up we have the Herbal Essences Bio Renew Revitalize Cucumber and Green Tea Dry Shampoo. This is a dry shampoo that has no parabens, gluten or colorants. It’s pH-balanced and is color safe. Herbal Essences is a brand I have only briefly used but not for many years and I have a couple of dry shampoos that I really love, so we’ll see how this one stands up.

TBB4

Moving on, we have another dry shampoo but this one is the TRESemme Between Washes Volumizing Dry Shampoo. This has mineral clay and citrus, doesn’t leave behind any residue like some dry shampoos can and you’re supposed to be left with what looks like day one, fresh, volumized hair. I also received this in my Walmart box and I have yet to try it but I will and I’ll let you guys know what I think.

TBB5

The second to last product we have is the Pixi T-Zone Peel Off Mask. This has a superfood blend that is supposed to get rid of oil and impurities and leave you with healthy glowing skin. You apply it in an even layer, wait for it to dry and once it has you peel it off. I really like Pixi and I love products like this so I’m excited to try it out.

TBB6

And the last product we have is the CND Vinylux Mini Duo in Romantique. This is a nail polish in a really pretty light pink shade and it comes with a top coat that is supposed to help it resist chips and last for seven days. I’m always buying new polishes, I’ve never used this brand before but I looked into them and it seems like they have a great range of colors. I’m interested to put this to the test and see how well it holds up. I’ll definitely let you guys know what I think.

TBB7

TBB8

That about wraps it up for this post, I did mention that I wanted to compare it to the Walmart box and overall I think they’re very similar. You get pretty much the same amount of products and sometimes the exact same products. With the Walmart box you get a bag and with this you don’t. This is a monthly box and Walmart does it quarterly, so you get four boxes a year, one box per season. And the price is different, this Target box is $7.00, you do get free shipping and free returns. The Walmart box is $5.00 and all you’re paying for there is shipping. And I will leave a link down below for the Target box.

Until next time, you can never subscribe to too many beauty boxes and I’d love to know what your favorite subscription/beauty box is :).
