March favorites

Hi everyone,

Today I’m going to be doing my March favorites. It’s crazy how fast March went by but here we are and I think I have a good mix this month, so let’s get into it.

Starting with beauty, I have a couple of favorites from my March Sephora Play Box, which I will link below if you haven’t read yet. The first is the bag itself, It’s blue tie dye and it says ‘Beauty Is My Spirit Animal’ in white lettering and it has dark blue drawstrings. The theme for this month was Festival of Beauty and it really came through with both the design and the products.

MPB1

My next beauty favorite is the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner. This eye liner is absolutely fantastic and I can 100% understand why so many people love it. This is definitely going to be staple in my makeup bag.

MPB5

My second to last beauty favorite is the Amika Nourishing Mask. I used this in my hair two days ago and I’m really happy with it. Not only does it smell amazing, but it has made my hair extra soft. Definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a good hair mask.

MPB7

And my last beauty favorite is the Bobbi Brown Extra Illuminating Moisture Balm. You put this on before you put your makeup on and it gives your skin a little extra oomph and brightness. I didn’t know if I would like this, but I really do.

MPB2

Moving on, I have a couple of food favorites, the first is Tim’s Cascade Chips. I’m not someone who eats chips a lot but if I’m craving them Tim’s is what I go for.  The flavor that’s in my pantry right now is the Original Lightly Salted, but all the flavors are great.

My next food favorite is Kinder Joy. I watch a lot of British YouTubers and I always see them eating Kinder Eggs and Kinder chocolate and I’ve always wanted to try it but I knew the eggs were banned in America. So when I saw Kinder Joy in Albertsons I was really surprised but I picked one up and the chocolate was really good. And in Kinder Eggs you get a little toy, so they would make a great addition to Easter baskets.

And my last food favorite is actually a drink and it’s Sprite Cranberry. Sprite is my favorite soda and I do really like cranberries and the cranberry flavor and this didn’t disappoint. It was refreshing and the cranberry was just right.

My next favorite is Major League Baseball. Yesterday was Opening Day for baseball and I could not be happier that it’s back. It’s my favorite sport and I’m excited to cheer on my Mariners. Game 1 certainly was exciting and I can’t wait for the rest of the remaining 161 games. I think they’re going to have a great season.

I have a TV show favorite this month and it’s The Curse of Civil War Gold on History Channel. It’s along the same vein as The Curse of Oak Island, which is one of my top five favorite shows, but this one is about possible Civil War gold at the bottom of Lake Michigan. I personally do believe that there is gold at the bottom of the lake and I hope Kevin Dykstra and his team are able to find it.

And my last couple of favorites are music favorites. The first is Take Me To The Pilot by Elton John. I came across this song in a very random way, I was on YouTube watching an old episode of the Graham Norton Show, which I love, and Elton was a guest along with Jack Black and they got talking about the song and I knew I had heard the title before but couldn’t remember the song itself. So I looked it up and it’s great, a really fun song.

My next song favorite is Mr. Blue Sky by ELO. I’ve loved this song for a long time, but have come back to it recently because it’s a fantastic spring and summer song. It’s one that you want to play with the windows down.

My last music favorite is Jeff Lynne’s ELO Wembley Or Bust album from their concert at Wembley Stadium in 2017. Top to bottom it’s a fantastic album full of amazing songs, I don’t know that I could pick one favorite but I love All Over The World, Rockaria, Shine A Little Love and When I Was A Boy, that one reminds me of my dad and if I keep listing songs I’ll end up listing the whole album. It’s on iTunes and YouTube so definitely go and give it a listen along with the other songs I mentioned.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we had any of the same favorites this month let me know and if not I’d love to know what you did love during March.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope you had a great March :).

February favorites

Hi everyone,

Today I’m going to be doing my February favorites. This is a short month as it is, but I really feel like February flew by. I have a pretty good mix of things, so let’s get into it.

Starting with beauty, I have a couple of favorites from my February Sephora Play Box, if you haven’t read that post I’ll link it down below. The first is the Belif Moisturizing Eye Bomb. I’ve used a couple different eye creams in the past and this is by far my favorite. I can tell it’s already made a difference and I highly, highly recommend this if you’re looking for an eye cream.

FSP3

Next we have the Sephora Collection Rouge Matte Lipstick in M11 Rebel Chic. I would describe this lipstick as the perfect berry. It’s not too red and it’s not too purple. The next time I wear it I’ll hopefully remember to take a picture because it is gorgeous on.

FSP6

FSP7

And my last beauty favorite is another lipstick and it’s the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in 5855 Let’s Go Crazy. I had an interesting reaction when I initially unboxed this, I thought it was great because I love NARS then I swatched it and saw the color and I got a little nervous. It’s very bright and very pink but all of that went away when I put it on. It’s not as bright on and it’s a gorgeous shade of pink. Like the Sephora lipstick, the next time I wear this I’ll have to remember to take a picture.

FSP8

FSP9

Moving on I have a food favorite. The first is Noosa yogurt. I may or may not have mentioned this yogurt before, but I have two new favorite flavors. The first is key lime. It’s a flavor of yogurt I’ve always loved and when I saw that they had it I had to try it and I love it. And the second is coconut. As a flavor I generally like coconut, I really like Almond Joys, but I don’t ever buy coconut yogurt. I’m glad that I did because it’s so good, I definitely recommend it.

My next favorite will be a shock to no one and it’s NHRA drag racing. The season started earlier this month, we are two races in and it’s already been absolutely insane. Drag racing is my favorite motorsport, it goes NHRA IMSA and IndyCar. I don’t really watch Formula 1 anymore, I’ll catch a race or two during the season but I don’t keep up with it. But back to drag racing, I’m so happy it’s back and I’m back to writing about it and I’ll do so for the rest of the season. So if you’re interested keep an eye out for those posts.

Second to last we have a TV show and it’s season two of The Grand Tour. I love this show, I’ve always loved Clarkson, Hammond and May and I was excited when they decided to do a second season. Considering how much time they collectively spent in the hospital it’s great that they were able to make a full season and I hope they do many more, without the hospital visits of course.

And lastly I have a couple of music favorites. Three songs to be specific. The first is You Got It by Roy Orbison. This song randomly came on my Pandora and it made me smile because I hadn’t heard it in so long. I’m pretty sure they use the chorus of this song for a commercial or two, but the song as a whole is great.

The next song is Love Is For Me by Joe Cocker. I’ve never been a hardcore Joe Cocker fan, but he does have a few songs that I do really like and this is one of them. It’s bluesy, you guys know how much I love the blues and it’s a really fun song to sing.

And my last song favorite is Club At The End Of The Street by Elton John. Sir Elton John has always been one of my favorites, The Grammy’s are doing a salute to Elton later this year and I’m excited to see it. When I came across this song I was shocked because I had never heard it but it’s a really fun song. If you haven’t heard this, or the other two songs definitely look them up on YouTube.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we had any of the same favorites this month let me know and if not I’d love to know what your favorites were.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope you had a great February :).

January favorites

Hi everyone,

As today is January 30th, I thought it would be the perfect time to do my January favorites. I have a pretty good range of items so lets get into it.

Starting with beauty, I didn’t really try out a whole lot of new products this month so I only have two things, one actual product and one honorable mention. The actual item is the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask. I ordered two of these, one in Champagne and the other in Natural, and the one I’m using right now is Champagne. But these are probably one of my favorite lip products I’ve ever used. Not only do they smell good, but they are incredibly moisturizing and they make my lips so soft. I highly recommend them. And my honorable mention is the Bite Beauty Sephora Insider birthday gift. I talked about that recently so I’ll leave a link to that post down below.

MJH1

Moving on to fashion, we have a pair of Fabletics leggings. I bought these recently and have since worn them a couple of times and I really like them. The fit is great and I love the pattern.

MJH9

Next up I have an app favorite and it’s Homescapes. I’ve been seeing this app everywhere for a while and a few of my friends have it so the other night when I couldn’t fall asleep I downloaded it and I love it. It didn’t help me with falling asleep because I was hooked and now I understand why it’s so popular.

Since I’m on the subject of apps, I know I mentioned Poshmark a little while ago, still loving it, and yesterday I added a bunch of new items to my closet. I’m KyraSage18 for anyone interested :).

From apps we go to TV shows, I don’t watch a whole lot of TV but this month I’ve really been loving season two of Better Late Than Never. If you’ve never watched it stars William Shatner, Henry Winkler, Terry Bradshaw, George Foreman and Jeff Dye and they go on adventures all over the world. In my opinion it’s one of the funniest shows, nothing makes me cry laugh like this show but there are also some really endearing moments. And I definitely recommend checking it out.

My second to last favorite is IMSA. Their season just started with the 24 of Daytona, one of my favorite races, and it was a great race. Besides drag racing, IMSA is my favorite series so I’m happy it’s back.

And my last favorite is a music favorite and it’s the song The Core by Eric Clapton. You guys know how much I love EC, he’s one of my favorites. This song is one that I heard a long time ago, really liked and then never really did anything about, didn’t buy it from iTunes or anything like that. Then last week I saw a video of Clapton playing it during a concert and it reminded me just how much I love it. It’s from the Slowhand album, which is an album I think people tend to forget about because it’s an earlier album but it has some of my favorite songs on it. Definitely check out the song and the album if you haven’t listened to either.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we had any of the same favorites let me know and if not I’d love to know what you guys loved this month.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope you had a great January :).

December favorites/2017 wrap up

Hi everyone,

Today, as we are in the last couple days of December and of 2017, I thought it would be the perfect day to do my December favorites and wrap up this year. So, starting with beauty and I have a couple of favorites from my December Glam Bag, if you haven’t read that post I’ll link it below, and the first is the bag itself. It’s silver with a band of silver sparkles around the top and the inside as well as the zipper is aqua and I love it. Not only is it wintery, but it’s so my colors.

DF13

My next Glam Bag favorite is the Essence Cosmetics I Love Crazy Volume Mascara in Deep Black. I’ve worn this a couple of times and I really like it. It does give my lashes volume and thickness.

DGB3

And my last Glam Bag favorite is the Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Legendary. I’ve always liked the Smashbox lipsticks and this one is no different. It’s a gorgeous red, it’s long lasting and it doesn’t dry out your lips like some red lipsticks can do. I definitely recommend it.

DGB6

I want to make a note quickly and say that I haven’t yet had a chance to try out the Purlisse sheet masks, but I will let you know what I think once I have.

Next up I’m going to talk about a few of the things that I got for Christmas and for that I’ll start with my stocking. The first thing I pulled out of my stocking was a set of four gold rings from H&M. I love rings and these are the perfect simple accessory.

DF1

The next thing was a full sized Bath and Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar 24 hour moisture Ultra Shea body cream. This is one of my favorite scents from Bath and Body Works and probably my favorite lotion.

DF2

The rest of my stocking was full of a loofa, some toiletries (toothpaste, makeup wipes, etc) and candy.

Moving on to some of my presents, there are a few that I wanted to mention and the first is a curling iron. I was in desperate need of a medium sized curling iron, I have one with a small barrel and one with a really big barrel, but I was lacking some middle ground so this is perfect. It’s a Conair Instant Heat curling iron with a 1 1/4 barrel. I’ve always liked  Conair because I have a lot of hair and it’s thick and these get really hot and create nice curls.

DF3

Next up is one of my favorite gifts I received and it’s the Too Faced Best Year Ever collection. You guys know how much I love Too Faced and I’m so in love with this. It comes in a little zip up case that is gold with pink stripes on the outside and it says “I have way more makeup at home” on the front.

DF4

When you open it you see black and white stripes and the three palettes are stacked on one another and there is a mini Better Than Sex mascara on the top. It also comes with a little booklet that has four different looks and how to create them.

DF5

Like I said, there’s three palettes and they are I Believe in Pink, Natural Beauty and Super Fun Night.

DF6

I Believe in Pink has six eyeshadows ranging from super light pink to purple with a blush in the shade Pink Poinsettia. I have over the last three days worn at least one color from each palette and these shadows are very pigmented and look fantastic on.

DF7

Natural Beauty has six eyeshadows in the gold and brown shades and a bronzer in Warm My Heart.

DF8

And Super Fun Night has six eyeshadows in a mix of different colors and a highlighter in Dashing Through The Glow.

DF9

I will be doing a more in depth post on the Best Year Ever in the new year, so look out for that.

And the last beauty related thing is actually a sample that I got with the Too Faced collection. It was a small bottle of the Atelier Mandarine Glaciale perfume. I’m going to be honest with you guys, the second I smelled it I was in love. It has mandarin, ginger and vetiver and is a really fresh and warming scent. It also reminds me of something from when I younger, but I can’t remember what it is. I did order a full size bottle of this and it is on the pricier side but Sephora offers it in at least two sets that I’ve seen that have other Atelier scents.

I have a couple of clothing favorites, this Christmas was very sports heavy for my family and none of us were mad about it. When it comes to college football USC is my team and I was lacking in things to wear on game day but now that’s not the case. First up is a racerback ombre tank top. Ignore the wrinkles, I had it folded. But I love a tank top and can’t wait to wear this.

DF10

Next we have a white V-neck t-shirt that says Fight On! which is the name of the USC fight song. What I like about this shirt is it’s incredibly soft and it’s slightly on the baggy side, not overly but I tried it on and it looks great tucked into jeans.

DF11

And finally we have a black and gray hoodie. I don’t think I’ve taken this off since I got it, it’s fleece lined on the inside and it does a great job keeping me warm.

DF12

USC plays Ohio State tomorrow in the Cotton Bowl and I think it’s going to be a great game. Go Trojans!

And my last couple of favorites are music favorites. The first is the Ed Sheeran song Perfect. Everyone has been talking about this song recently and with good reason, it’s fantastic. If you somehow haven’t heard it yet, go and listen to it.

The last two are from Robbie Williams Under The Radar Vol. 2 album, which came out recently and my two favorites from this album are Bambi and 9 To 5. Bambi is one of my favorite songs of 2017, it’s a fun and very Robbie Williams. And I love the fact that he covered 9 to 5, if you like the original version of the song then you’ll like this one.

That about wraps it up for this post and I want to take a minute and thank you guys for reading, liking and commenting this year. 2017 was a crazy year and I can’t wait to see what 2018 will bring.

Until next time, I hope you all had a great December and 2017 and I appreciate every one of you :).

Blogmas Day 18: Christmas playlist

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day 18! Today I’m going to be talking about my Christmas playlist. There’s only a week until Christmas, which I can’t believe, and I’ve been putting the finishing touches on my Christmas Day playlist. And I’m happy with what I’ve got.

  •  To start off I’ve got the Michael Buble Christmas album. I love Buble, especially during this time and hands down my favorite song from the album is Cold December Night. If you haven’t ever heard that song look it up, it’s fantastic.
  •  Next we have the album it would not be Christmas without, Merry Christmas by Mariah Carey.
  •  Once Upon A Christmas, Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton. I love a bit of Kenny and Dolly and I’m not ashamed that I know all the words to all the songs.
  •  The Sinatra Christmas Album, Frank Sinatra. An absolute classic, you can’t have a playlist without Frank.
  • The Andy Williams Christmas Album. Just like Sinatra, Andy Williams is one of those voices I love to hear during the holidays.
  • White Christmas, Bing Crosby. If you like Bing’s voice, then this is a great album for you and it’s full of Christmas classics.

Now on to the song portion of the playlist.

  • Wonderful Christmastime, Paul McCartney. I’ve mentioned that this is one of my favorite Christmas songs and it makes me smile every time I hear it.
  • Step Into Christmas, Elton John. This song is super fun and one of those songs that instantly makes you want to sing along.
  • Happy Xmas (War is Over), John Lennon. This is classic Christmas to me, I listened to this song growing up and sang it once for a school Christmas concert so I have a special place for it in my heart.
  • Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town, Bruce Springsteen. You guys may have noticed there’s a theme here. I really like the Christmas songs of the artists I listen to normally.
  • Merry Christmas Everyone, Shakin’ Stevens. This is a song I only discovered last year through watching Zoe Sugg’s Vlogmas. And it’s become one of my favorite Christmas songs. Definitely give it a listen if you don’t know it already.
  • And lastly we have Joy To The World by Three Dog Night. I’ve said before, not strictly a Christmas song but one of my all time favorites.

That about wraps it up for this post, if any of you guys have the same songs or albums on your Christmas playlist let me know and if not let me know what songs you do have on your playlist.

Until next time, have fun listening to your Christmas playlists and I hope you’re enjoying Blogmas :).

Blogmas Day 7: Favorite Christmas songs, piano and ukulele edition

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day 7! Today I thought it would be fun to talk about some of my favorite Christmas songs to play on piano and ukulele since so many people, especially this time of year, enjoy playing.

Starting off with piano, I have this book that my dad gave me ages ago, I think it’s from Hal Leonard, and it has 91 songs in it. The goal is one day to be able to play through all of them but I’m not there yet. This book has some of my favorite songs in it so it’s always the one I turn to first.

  • Christmas Time Is Here, from A Charlie Brown Christmas. When I was a kid I loved the Charlie Brown Christmas and I’ll still watch it when it comes on but this song was always one of my favorite things about it. And it just makes me smile when I play it.
  • Happy Holiday. Originally from the classic movie Holiday Inn, if you’ve never seen it and you like White Christmas you will like it because they are very similar. This one of those songs that really fun and it’s simple to play.
  • Jingle Bells. Simply because you can’t have Christmas without some variation of it.
  • Joy To The World, both versions. The traditional Christmas and the Three Dog Night song. Three Dog Night is and has always been one of my favorites, they were my first concert, so why not play their song at Christmas, it is called Joy To The World after all.
  • The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year. This one is fun for me because it’s one of those songs that everyone knows and they just start singing along when you’re playing.
  • Wonderful Christmastime. I said the other day that this is one of my favorite Christmas songs and it’s also one of my favorites to play. Although to be fair anything by Paul McCartney I love playing.

On to ukulele, I’ve only been playing since January and thankfully I picked it up quickly. And it’s become one of my favorite things.

  • White Christmas. I really like the different sound the traditional songs take on when played on a ukulele and this is a great example of that. There is this guy on YouTube, I believe his name is Ukulele Mike and he has tutorials for a ton of different songs and is really great to learn from.
  • Mele Kalikimaka. The Hawaiian Christmas song, so it only makes sense to play it on the ukulele.
  • Feliz Navidad. Not the best song on piano, but really fun on ukulele and guitar.

As you can see I don’t play a whole lot of Christmas songs on the ukulele, but I enjoy the ones I do play and look forward to adding more in the future.

That about wraps it up for this post, if you guys play either instrument let me know what you like to play.

Until next time, enjoy the music and have fun playing :).

November favorites

Hi everyone,

Today, as November is nearly over, I thought that I would do my November favorites. But before I get into that I want to mention something exciting, this year I’m doing Blogmas. So every day up until Christmas, starting December 1st, there will be a new Christmassy blog post, this is something I’ve wanted to do since I started blogging and I’m excited about it. But back to this month, starting with beauty I have a couple of favorites from my November Glam Bag from Ipsy and as always I’ll link that post down below if you haven’t read it. First we have the ColourPop Pressed Shadow in Come And Get It. I’ve worn this a couple of times since talking about it and I bloody love it. It’s a gorgeous shade, very versatile and the color payoff is fantastic. ColourPop eyeshadows are where it’s at.

NGB7

NGB8

Next up we have the Tarte Deluxe Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush is Feisty. There are a couple of things I love about this blush, first being the color. It’s a dusty rose and that’s a shade that I think is great all year round. The formulation is really nice and it’s very blendable/buildable. All good things if you ask me.

NGB5

Continuing with the beauty favorites we have the EM Cosmetics Infinite Lip Cloud in Rose Nude. I highly recommend EM Cosmetics lipsticks. The formulation is really nice, they’re long lasting, feel great and light on the lips, and it smells really good.

NGB2

My last Glam Bag favorite is the SKYN ICELAND Berry Lip Fix with Wintered Red Algae. I put this in my skincare routine after I got it just to see and I can honestly tell you that I love it. It’s always been part of my routine to put something on my lips right before I go to bed, I wear a lot of lipsticks and different products and want to keep my lips healthy and soft. I normally use the Vanilla Softlips, and I love it, but I started alternating between that and this and my lips have never been softer. And if that wasn’t enough for you, it smells incredible. I will definitely be delving more into SKYN ICELAND.

NGB3

Moving right along, I have a couple of app favorites. The first is Poshmark. I was going through my closet recently and found some pieces that I either hadn’t worn, don’t know why I bought them to begin with, or had worn once or twice but didn’t have a real place in my wardrobe anymore and I wanted to do something with them and found that Poshmark was the best app for the job. I made my first sale a couple of weeks ago and it was a really easy process. I highly recommend it and I have a couple of really cute shirts in my Posh closet right now, @kyrasage18 if you guys are interested. Let’s do some business :).

My second app favorite is the Design Home app. I’m one of those people that quite likes interior design and I have a couple of house flipping shows that I absolutely love. I will admit that when I first saw the ad for this app I was skeptical, but I downloaded it and I love it, it’s a lot of fun.

Next up I have a website favorite and that’s Etsy. I recently started my Christmas shopping and was looking for something specific for a friend of mine, I won’t say what on the off chance she reads this, but I found it, beautifully made and reasonably priced and I’m really happy with it.

My next favorite is something I discovered randomly, the other week I was scrolling through YouTube late at night looking for something to watch and I came across this segment from Michael McIntyre’s Big Show called Send To All. Basically what he does is takes the phone of a celebrity guest on the show, sends out a crazy text to all the contacts in that persons phone and reads out the replies. It is one of the funniest things and I think that Michael McIntyre is one of the funniest people, really makes me laugh.

My second to last favorite is Thanksgiving. I love Thanksgiving, the food, the fun and the ridiculous amount of laughter that comes with my family getting together. I made apple pie like always do and I was really pleased with the way it turned out, it was delicious. I really should make this pie more throughout the year.

NFA1

NFA2

And my last favorite is a song and it’s Hard To Say Sorry by Chicago. I listened to Chicago growing up, thanks Dad, and they have a ton of great songs, but this is probably my favorite song of theirs. It’s just one of those songs that I will belt out and I have no shame. If you haven’t heard it definitely  give it a listen.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we had any of the same favorites this month let me know and if not I’d love to know what you loved during November.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope you had a great November :).
