Blogmas Day Eleven: BoxyCharm, A Year In Review

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day Eleven! Today I’m going to be doing a BoxyCharm Year In Review. I got a lot of great boxes this year and had a ton of favorite products, so I thought it would be good to put them all together and share what I really loved.

January:

The January box was a strong start to the year, and my favorite from this box was the Ace Beaute Bronzed In Paradise Palette. It didn’t feature in any of my recent looks posts, but I do like it and I do use it, it tends to fall to the back of my bronzer drawer, so I need to make a spot for it towards the front.

February:

Ace Beaute made a really great impression in BoxyCharm this year, at least for me, and one of the things I loved in February was the Ace Beaute Nostalgia Palette. I use this all the time, I think it’s a super fun and versatile palette, in fact I talked about it in yesterday’s post. The other thing I loved in February was the Wander Beauty Double Date Lip & Cheek in Rendezvous/Swipe. I use Rendezvous solely as a lip product and I like it a lot. It’s a very pretty shade of pink.

March:

The March box had three items in it that I either loved already or have become staples in my makeup collection. The first of which is the Lime Crime Venus III Palette. This palette is super cute, it has some super pretty shadows in it and I love the versatility it affords. Then there’s the Too Faced Damn Girl Mascara which I’ve loved pretty much since it came out, it’s so good and always does my lashes good. The last product is one that I was initially unsure of because I don’t love rose in beauty and skincare products, but it’s turned into one of my favorites and it’s the Maven Beauty Rose Water Setting Spray. This locks in your makeup and you don’t feel sticky. Because of the rose water, it’s actually kinda refreshing.

April:

In April I received the Flirtacious Looks Monarch Lash Pack and these lashes are SO good! It came with two pairs, Baby Girl, an angled lash and Charmer, a round lash. The second thing I loved from the April box is the Eloise Beauty Get Gleaming Body Glow Illuminator in Champagne Rich. I used this a lot during the summer and it gives a great glow but is also buildable so you can have your desired level of glow.

May:

The May box saw me receiving two things that I have since repurchased and have talked about so many times since. The first is the Sophia + Mabelle Hydrating Hybrid Lipstick in Topless. This is a nude lipstick with the hydration of a balm and it’s so, so good. I honestly recommend, especially if you’re a nude lipstick fan. The second is the Murad City Skin Overnight Detox Moisturizer. I mentioned this in my Winter Skincare post and it’s an excellent moisturizer because it not only moisturizes, but it protects against blue light which is perfect for me because I do spend a bit of time on my computer. My skin definitely likes Murad.

June:

The June box had two things that very much screamed summer to me, a bright lipstick and glowy skin. The bright lipstick came in the form of the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Famous Red, which has become a go to of mine in my red lipstick collection. The glowy skin came from the Touch In Sol Pretty Filter Glowdient Palette, I talk about this all the time, you guys know how much I love it.

July:

In July I got a great mix of great makeup and skincare. The Ofra Mini Mix Palette in Good To Go is something I already loved, so when I saw it was a choice item for July I picked it and it turned out to be a great choice because I just hit pan on the bronzer and because these are magnetic pans, I can just swap out the new and old ones. The BellaPierre Cosmetics Liquid Eyeliner in Black has become something I reach for a lot in my eyeliner drawer and I like it a lot, you have a lot of flexibility so you can do the thin precise line or you can do a thick and dramatic wing. On the skincare side, this is when I got the Mudmasky Vitamin Infused Eye Serum, I also talked about this in my Winter Skincare post and I love it, I can see a difference since I started using it.

August:

The August box featured what as become a go to eyeshadow palette for me, the Dito Cosmetics Venus Palette. I used this palette a lot during college football season and when I did my gold eye look for yesterday’s post, this is what I used to do it. I’m also a space nerd, so that made this palette extra fun for me. My second August favorite is the Volition Hibiscus Unspottable Correcting Oil. I have a couple of dark spots on my face, and this has helped tremendously, it’s a great product. Definitely recommend it you’re looking to get rid of any dark spots.

September:

I’m gonna be honest, this was not my favorite box of the year. I did and do like the GlamGlow YouthMud Glow Stimulating Treatment. This is the OG GlamGlow product that made it what it is today and when you use it you can see why. Obviously the more you use it, the more results you see, but when in the 10 or so minutes you have it on, you can tell a difference. The exfoliating properties give you smooth, glowy and soft skin. The other thing I liked in this box is the Half Caked 813, Duo Fiber Brush. I use this for blush, and it gives you an airbrushed finish. It’s also super soft and I like the colors, I don’t have a lot of brushes in this color.

IMG_9285

IMG_9303

IMG_9314

October:

The October box was fantastic. I feel like as we got closer to the end of the year, the boxes got better and better. I’ve talked about this palette a number of times since getting it, but the October box gave me the Ace Beaute Falling For You Palette and I still love it so much. I used it yesterday and it’s still great, the color range, the mix of mattes and shimmer, the color payoff and the formulation are all top notch. This box gave me something I had never tried before, and that was the Appeal Cosmetics Adhesive Liner. I’ve worn this a few times and I do like it, I find it to be quicker and easier than messing around with lash glue, and we all know how much of a mess that can be. I also received a set of lashes that I love, they’re from Camara Aunique Beauty and they’re the Mary Lash. They do give you volume and that oomph that you want from a false lash, but it’s very natural. The last thing in this box that I love is the Tresluce Beauty Like An Artista 4 Piece Brush Set. I know that at the time I received this set the brand was fairly new, but for a new brand they seriously smashed it with the brushes. They’re all super soft, blend nicely and they’re nice to grip.

November:

In November I genuinely loved everything in the box, and I don’t know if that’s happened in the time I’ve been doing BoxyCharm. It started with the Ace Beaute Eyeshadow Amplifying Base in Light, I talk about this all the time, it makes your shadow last all day and it amplifies both mattes and shimmers without being too sticky and tacky. Then we have the Violet Voss Violet Sunset Palette. For being a smaller palette it has a lot of versatility and the colors are so, so pretty. I’ve been using this a lot recently. The Hanalei Beauty Company Matte Bronzer is one that has quickly made it’s way into the front of my bronzer drawer, I love that it’s on the lighter side so you can build it up as much as you want and you get that nice Hawaiian glow. The Luxie Pautips Por La Noche Brush Set was nice to see because I really like Luxie brushes and this came with a cute little pouch which is currently holding these brushes and all the random single brushes I had. The last product in this box is the Bodyography Makeup Brush Cleanser. I used this recently when I cleaned by brushes and having it in the spray bottle was so much quicker and easier and I feel like it didn’t take as much to clean them as it usually does.

December:

I won’t be revealing my thoughts and favorites from the December box in this post, but I will be doing so in my monthly favorites like I always do.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we had any of the same overall Boxy favorites let me know and if not, I’d love to know what you loved from BoxyCharm this year.

Until next time, enjoy your products, I can’t believe Blogmas is almost over and I can’t wait to see what I get next year in BoxyCharm :).

Blogmas Day Three: Winter Skincare Routine

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day Three! Today I thought it would be fun to share my winter skincare routine with you guys. I used to do a skincare routine post every season because I was changing and trying new products all the time, but my skin got very mad at me for doing that. I had to strip it back to very few things and once that started working I added a few things here and there and that’s where I’m at with it right now.

So the first thing I do is take off my eye makeup and lipstick and to do that I used the Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover for Lids, Lashes and Lips. This is a product I’ve been using for ages and I really like it. It has a gentle formula but it’s super effective so you’re not scrubbing and accidently ripping out your lashes.

CLINIQUE - Take The Day Off Makeup Remover For Lids, Lashes & Lips 4.2 oz/ 125 mL

The next thing I do is take off the rest of my makeup with the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Deep Dive Cleansing Gel. I’ve also been using this for a really long time and I still like it a lot. It takes off all of the long wearing makeup and doesn’t leave anything behind.

tarte - SEA Deep Dive Cleansing Gel 5 oz/ 150 mL Clean at Sephora

From there I move to the Volition Hibiscus Unspottable Correcting Oil. This is to help reduce the appearance of dark spots and discoloration along with hydrating and helping with moisture retention. I have a couple of dark spots and I can honestly say that this has helped tremendously with getting them to go away. I’m a little weary sometimes of correcting oils and such because I have used some that have done nothing, but this is not one of those. This is one I highly recommend.

Volition Beauty - Hibiscus Unspottable Correcting Oil 1.1 oz/ 35 mL Clean at Sephora

The next step in my routine is serum and for that I use the Mine Tan. Body. Skin. Hydra Glow Sleep Serum with Triple Action Hyaluronic Acid. This serum is so good! It’s fast absorbing, it’s incredibly lightweight and says it’s anti-inflammatory. Because it’s a triple action Hyaluronic Acid you get the instant hydration but it’s also time release so you get that as you sleep giving you hydrated and glowy skin in the morning.

MineTan Body Skin Hydra Glow Sleep Serum Mine Skincare

After serum comes moisturizer and for that I use the Murad City Skin Overnight Detox Moisturizer. This is more than just your standard moisturizer. It does have nourishing botanicals to moisturize and plump while helping to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, but it also detoxifies the skin by neutralizing daily damage caused by pollutants and blue light. Which I really like because I spend a lot of time on my computer. This is also a slightly thicker consistency, which I like for winter and the colder months.

Murad - City Skin Overnight Detox Moisturizer 1.7 oz

The second to last thing I do is eye cream. I’ve been using two as of late. The first is one that I’ve been using for a while and really like, the Murad Hyrdo-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture for Eyes. This deeply quenches and nourishes the under eye area, seals in moisture to restore smoothness and helps to reduce fine line and wrinkles along with dull and dry skin. The second is the Mudmasky Vitamin Infused Eye Serum. This has Vitamin C which is very refreshing and has an antioxidant effect. This also feeds, nourishes and firms the skin under the eye along with giving a vitamin boost and moisture boost. I like it a lot.

Murad Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture 1.7 oz/ 50 mL

Vitamin-infused Eye Serum

And the last thing I do is apply a lip product. Right now, and for a bit, my go to lip product has been the eos Natural & Organic Lip Balm Stick in Sweet Mint. I find the eos lip balms to be super hydrating and this one smells really good.

Eos Smooth Stick Lip Balm - Sweet Mint

That about wraps it up for this post, if we use any of the same products in our winter skincare routines let me know and if not I’d love to know what products you do use.

Until next time, enjoy doing your skincare routine and I’m glad you’re all liking Blogmas :).

May Favorites

Hi everyone,

As it’s the end of the month I thought it would be the perfect time to do my May favorites. I have a decent mix this month, so let’s get into it.

Starting with Beauty, I have a couple of favorites from my May BoxyCharm box, and I’ll link that post below if you haven’t read it. My first Boxy favorite is the Murad City Skin Overnight Detox Moisturizer. This is a moisturizer that has supercharged antioxidants that neutralize pollutants and blue light, while strengthening your skin’s barrier while you sleep. I spent a lot of time on my computer and I have blue light glasses, so I like that this offers you that same thing for you skin. I’ve only used this a few times since I got it, but I do like it so far.

My last Boxy favorite is the Sophia + Mabelle Hydrating Hybrid in Topless. This is a combo lip balm and lipstick, it has the hydration of a balm with Vitamin E and the full coverage of a satin finish lipstick. This is a light nude/brown and I really like it. It wears pretty well throughout the day as well. This is definitely a product I would recommend if you like a good lipstick.

My last beauty favorite is the Malibu Barbie x ColourPop palette. I did a whole post on this palette and from my initial impressions with swatching to actually using it, I can tell you that it’s a great palette. I’m going to be doing a ‘Three Recent Looks’ with it soon. But for now what I will say is, if you’re a fan of Barbie and good makeup, pick up one of these because it’s a lot of fun to create with.

Moving on I have a food favorite and it’s not just any food, it’s ice cream. To be more specific it’s the Snickers Ice Cream Bars. I always like an ice cream bar and Snickers are one of my favorite candies. These bars are peanut butter ice cream with peanuts and caramel on top and coated in chocolate and they’re just so good.

And my last favorite is a music favorite in the form of the Take That Progress Live album. I’ve been going back and listening to some of my old favorite music recently and really remembering how great this album, and this tour were. It’s full of great songs, some great mashups between Take That and Robbie Williams songs and if you haven’t listened to the album or seen the tour DVD, I definitely recommend doing so.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we had any of the same favorites let me know and if not, I’d love to know what your May favorites were.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope you had a great May :).

May BoxyCharm Unboxing

Hi everyone,

Yesterday I received my May BoxyCharm box and I thought that today would be the perfect day to go through it. The theme for this month is Flourish, which goes perfectly with ‘April showers bring May flowers.’

The first item we have is the Beekman 1802 Dewy Eyed Illuminating & Depuffing Eye Serum. This has a mix of goat milk and botanical extracts that are supposed to combine for hydrating revitalization to illuminate eyes and help to fight the appearance of dark circles and puffiness. I’m a little put off by the idea of goat milk in an eye serum, and I’ve seen mixed reviews on this, so we’ll see. I also think that it’s a little bit overpriced for the 0.5 fl oz/15 ml that you get. I do like the packaging though, it comes in a little canvas bag and the serum is inside of it and I think that that very down home/farm feel very much fits in with the vibe of the brand.

The next item we have is the Ciate London Shadow Flip in Ember. This is a liquid eyeshadow that has a shade shifting, color flipping pigment and a multi-chrome effect. This one in particular is predominantly orange/pink with a green-ish shift. I really like the Ciate London liquid shadows, the formula is really nice, they dry down nicely and they’re super pigmented. I’m excited to try this out and see how it looks on the eyes.

Moving on we have the Skin Inc My Daily Dose Of Uplift Serum. This is a serum that has encapsulated Collagen, Coenzyme Q10 and Hyaluronic Acid for what they call an anti aging punch to give you firmer, smoother and younger looking skin. This is such a pretty serum, all the Skin Inc serums are that way, I like the bottle and the little encapsulated pearls give it a lava lamp look. I do love a good serum, so I’m excited to try this one.

The second to last item we have is the Murad City Skin Overnight Detox Moisturizer. This was my choice item for the month and it’s a moisturizer with a breakthrough formula that has supercharged antioxidants that neutralize pollutants and blue light, while strengthening your skin’s barrier while you sleep. This has an interesting way of dispensing the product, instead of just twisting off the top, there’s a circle you press on the top that has a hole in the middle and that’s where the product comes out. Murad makes the eye cream that I use, which is one of my favorites, so when I saw it I knew that I wanted to try it.

And the last item we have is the Sophia + Mabelle Hydrating Hybrid in Topless. This is a hybrid lipstick and lip balm in one. It has Vitamin E to keep your lips hydrated like a lip balm, but the full coverage of a satin finish lipstick. I really like the idea of this, and this one is a light nude/brown shade. It felt really creamy and went on smooth in the swatch, so it seems like it will be nice on the lips.

That about wraps it up for this post, I typically like a more makeup heavy box but this was a decent box. If you guys got any of the same items in your May BoxyCharm box let me know and if not, I’d love to know what you did get.

Until next time, enjoy your products and I can’t wait to see what I get in my June box :).

Blogmas Day Eight: BoxyCharm A Yearish In Review

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day Eight! Today I thought it would be fun to have a look through the BoxyCharm boxes I’ve received this year and talk about my favorites and what I’m still using. I called this a yearish in review because I subscribed at the end of April, after Sephora Play ended. Just a quick refresher, BoxyCharm is a $25 a month subscription box and you get 5 full size items. There are multiple levels of this box so you can upgrade and each month they have great sales if you’re a subscriber.

Like I said, I first subscribed at the end of April, but they were nice enough to send me the April box and that immediately let me know that I had made the right decision in subscribing to them. So the April box was a good intro of what was to come.

The first thing and the thing I use the most from the April box is the Murad Hydra-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture for Eyes. I’ve been using this eye cream since I got it and it’s incredible. The Alamar Cosmetics Colorete Blush Trio in Medium-Tan has become a mainstay in my blush rotation and recently Alamar upgraded the packaging and I think they tweaked the formula a little. These blushes are super pigmented, but they’re also very buildable and easy to work with. The last item in the box that I use a lot is the Vintage By Jessica Liebeskind Cashmere Lip Penchil in Mocha. This is a nice medium brown, as the name would suggest and it works great as a liner and an all over lip color. I do want to give an honorable mention to the Ciate London Eye Lustre Creme Eyeshadow in Cupid. I do like it a lot, but I don’t use it as often as the items I mentioned.

IMG_5507

The May box was, if I’m being honest, not my personal favorite and not very well liked in the Boxy community. But despite that I did have two things that I liked. The first is the Ayam BeautyCare Dead Sea Minerals + Vitamin C Serum Makeup Remover Wipes. I don’t use makeup wipes a lot, but I used these on my face a few times and the rest of them I used to remove swatches and they did an incredible job. This is definitely a good item to have in the skincare cabinet. The other item is the Pretty Vulgar Uncaged Eyeshadow Primer. This is a tackier primer, but it dries down translucent and it really helps your eyeshadow pop.

IMG_5532 (1)

The June Box had quite a few good things in it, starting with the Touch In Sol Pretty Filter Glassy Skin Balm. This is a super hydrating primer that comes from a Korean skincare brand and Korean skincare is pretty incredible. This smells really good, sinks into the skin quickly and gives you a nice glow. Then we have the Artist Couture Diamond Glow Powder in Coco Bling. This is a light silver and it has a really pretty glow. I like to use this on my face, but it’s also great for all over the body. My last favorite from the June box is the Beauty Vaulte Circadian Lip Liner Trio. This has three liners, a true brown, a rusty brown and a red. These are all really creamy, long lasting and are great as liners and all over lip colors.

IMG_5648 (1)

The July box really felt like summer to me. It featured one of my favorite beauty tools that I literally use every day, the Lavish Quick Color Switch Dry Brush Cleaner. This is a sponge that you swirl your brush on and it removes the pigment. This is also super easy to clean and I appreciate that. One of my favorite products this summer came from this box and it’s the Ciate London Everyday Vacay Coconut Setting Spray. Not only does this smell incredible, but it gives you a glowy and dewy finish. 10/10 setting spray. My last July favorite is the Pur Cosmetics Festival 2.0 Eyeshadow Palette. This is something I wanted from the minute I saw the pictures and since then I’ve used it a ton and created some really fun looks. This has 6 shimmers/glitters shadows, 4 mattes and 2 satins. The color range is really nice, so I find it to be a versatile palette.

IMG_5842 (1)

August was another really good box. It featured what has become a staple in my skincare routine, the Minetan Body Skin Hydra Glow Sleep Serum. This does wonders for the skin, it works in time release, so as you’re asleep it continues to hydrate. The second item I love and use often is the Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later Eye Primer. This does a great job of not only enhancing your eyeshadow, but it also locks it in. The Trestique Summer Glow + Go Set is something that I’ve been using a ton since I got it. It is a four piece set with a cream blush, cream highlight, eyeshadow and brow pencil. Out of the four, I use the highlighter which is in the shade Maldives, a gorgeous champagney shade that has the perfect amount of shimmer and the eyeshadow, which is in the shade Tahitian Shimmer, a brown/gold/bronze color, the most. The last item I love from the August box is the Clarins Velvet Lip Perfector in 03, Velvet Red. This quickly became one of my favorite red lipsticks and I wear it all the time.

892AEC5B-6C9A-4959-BF71-C7FE90F9976B (1)

My favorites from the September box came in the form of two eye products. The first is Huda Beauty Matte & Metal Melted Shadows in Private Jet & Shimmering Sunset. Private Jet is a light pink with a lot of warmth and Shimmering Sunset is an amber/rose gold glitter. The matte has a doe foot applicator and shimmer has a pointed brush. My other favorite is the Alamar Cosmetics Spanglish Pressed Pigment Palette. This has 8 shadows, 4 mattes and 4 shimmers. It does have a lot of fun colors, but it also has some more neutral shades so you can create a number of different looks.

752A01FE-F2A1-44AA-8255-5F28B69F2DC9 (1)

The October box had a few things that I still use, but my favorites from the box were the Ciate London New England Editor Palette. This is an 18 pan palette and has a great mix of metallics, glitters and mattes. There is a wide color range and I find this to be a very versatile palette. My other favorite is the RealHer Ultimate Glow Getter Cheek Trio. This has a blush, bronzer and highlighter that are all very nicely pigmented, blendable, buildable and the packaging with the marbling and rose gold lettering is super cute.

BBFD2F26-306C-4FDB-BDF8-BFF3A2A3FB06 (1)

The November box gave me my first Natasha Denona experience in an exclusive palette for BoxyCharm, the Natasha Denona Peak Palette. This is a 5 pan palette that has all the colors of fall in it. I really like these mini ND palettes and I’m definitely going to be picking up a few more. The other item I really liked is the Bodyography Eye Pencil Duo. This came with two eye pencils in Black Walnut and Onyx. These are infused with coconut oil so they glide on but you can also get a crisp line and if you’re going for a smoky look, they smudge easily.

IMG_6587 (1)

I’m not going to talk about the December box because I’m going to be mentioning my favorites from it in my December Favorites post.

That about wraps it up for this post, this is definitely the best beauty subscription I’ve had and I’m excited to see what products I’ll get in 2021. If you guys are Boxy subscribers, I’d love to know what your favorite box was this year.

Until next time, I can’t wait to see what’s in my January box and I hope you’re enjoying Blogmas :).

Blogmas Day Five: Winter Skincare Routine

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day Five! Today I’m going to be talking about my winter skincare routine. In the past year I’ve been on a journey with my skincare routine for all seasons, basically I tried too many new products back to back and my skin hated me for it. So I scaled it way back and now I’ve found a routine that my skin really likes and I’m super happy about it.

So the first thing I do is use the Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover for Lids, Lashes and Lips and take off my eye makeup and whatever is on my lips. This has a really gentle, but effective formula so you don’t have to scrub. I’ve been using this for a while and I really like it, plus it takes off every kiss proof, waterproof, long wearing product you might have on.

IMG_6785

Then I take the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Deep Dive Cleansing Gel and take the rest of my makeup off. This does a fantastic job of taking off all of my makeup while getting rid of any excess oil and not drying out my skin. This has Marine Plants, which reduce the look of wrinkles and fine lines, Allantoin, which softens and protects the skin. Vitamin B5 to moisturize and hydrate, Indian Gooseberry to help brighten the skin and Lavender for toning and soothing skin.

IMG_6786

From there I use the MineTan Body Skin Hydra Glow Sleep Serum with triple action hyaluronic acid. I got this in a BoxyCharm box months ago and I’ve been using it every day since. This absorbs into the skin instantly and because it’s time release, as you sleep it continues to hydrate so you have glowing skin.

IMG_6787

Moving on, the next thing I do is moisturize my entire face using the Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream Hydrating Moisturizer. This is a 30 percent hyaluronic acid complex cream that helps lock in hydration for up to 72 hours. This is good for normal, combination, oily and dry skin and if you have wrinkles/fine lines, dryness or uneven texture then this is the perfect cream for you. This is incredibly lightweight and it sinks in really quickly. I used to only use thicker creams during the winter, but this one is so moisturizing that I don’t feel the need to use a thicker cream.

IMG_6788

The second to last thing I do is apply my eye cream and for that I use the Murad Hyrdo-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture for eyes. This is also a product I received in a BoxyCharm box and have been using every day since. This helps to seal in moisture and restore smoothness, while deeply quenching and nourishing the eye area.

IMG_6789

And the last thing I do is apply a lip product and right now I’m using, and loving, the eos Sweet Mint Lip Balm. This does come in the ball and stick forms, but I like the sticks. This is free of gluten, parabens and phthalates and made from 100% natural ingredients. There are a variety of flavors, but I like the Sweet Mint the best, it’s nicely minty but it’s not over the top. These are incredibly moisturizing and all of them smell really good.

IMG_6790

That about wraps it up for this post, if you use any of the same products in your winter skincare routine let me know and if not I’d love to know what your routine consists of.

Until next time, you can never be too moisturized and I hope you’re enjoying Blogmas :).

May Favorites

Hi everyone,

As it’s the end of the month I thought it would be a good time to do my May favorites. I tried quite a few new things this month, so I have a good mix. That being said, let’s get into it.

Starting with beauty, I started BoxyCharm and because I subscribed at the very end of April I got my April box in May along with my May box, meaning I have favorites from both. I will of course link both of those posts down below if you haven’t read them. The first is the Pretty Vulgar Uncaged Eyeshadow Primer. My go to eyeshadow primer is the Too Faced Shadow Insurance, but this one is now up there as a go to. It’s on the thicker side and has a fade proof and crease proof translucent finish that really does make my shadow last all day and brings out the vibrance.

My second beauty favorite is the Murad Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture for eyes. This has hyaluronic acid and algae extract for smoothness, to seal in moisture and help in reducing the look of fine lines and wrinkles. This has quickly become a favorite of mine. I’ve been using this since I got it and I do feel like I can see a difference. I’ve used a few different Murad products and they’re honestly all great. I definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a new eye cream.

My second to last BoxyCharm favorite is the Alamar Cosmetics Colorete Blush Trio in Medium-Tan. In this palette you get three blushes, hence blush trio, but you have Seclusion which is an orangey/peach shade, Isla which is a coral and Toasted, a rosey pink. These blushes are all very pretty. They’re buildable, blend out nicely and are quite  pigmented without being too much.

My last BoxyCharm favorite is the Vintage By Jessica Liebeskind Cashmere Lip Pencil in Mocha. This is honestly a great lip pencil. It’s in a really nice medium brown that goes super well with most of my current nudey/brown lipsticks. I’ve also worn this on it’s own all over my lips, it goes on really smooth and has great staying power.

And my last, non Boxy favorite is the e.l.f. Bite Size eyeshadow palette in Truffles. This palette is a mix of darker neutrals, browns and blacks. There is a lot of versatility in this palette and I’ve worn it a few times since talking about it. I also ordered the rest of the Bite Size palettes I was missing and got them yesterday, so look for part four of the Bite Size series soon.

Moving on, I have a food favorite and it’s the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos Popcorn. Flamin’ Hot Cheetos are one of my favorite snacks and I love popcorn, so when I saw these I was intrigued. These don’t have as much of that vinegar pop that you get with the Cheetos, but they have a good heat and will leave your fingers that bright red-orange.

And my last favorite, a music favorite, is the 20th Anniversary Edition of B.B. King and Eric Clapton’s Riding With The King album. This comes out on June 26th, but it’s available for pre-order now on CD, 2 LP and Digital. Along with being remastered, this album has also been expanded. So you get two unreleased tracks, Rollin’ and Tumblin’ and Let Me Love You Baby. I have the original CD, but I’ve pre-ordered this. Rollin’ and Tumblin’ has been released on Spotify and I think it’s great. Eric has done a few versions of this song over the years and this one fits in perfectly with the rest of the album and I’m glad they decided to add it in now.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we had any of the same favorites let me know and if not I’d love to know what your May favorites were.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope you had a great May :).

April 2020 BoxyCharm Unboxing

Hi everyone,

Today I have something that I’m really excited about, the start of a new series, and that’s monthly BoxyCharm unboxings. I’ve wanted to do BoxyCharm for a while and after the end of Sephora Play, I subscribed. For those who don’t know, BoxyCharm is a $25.00 a month beauty subscription box and in each box you get 5 full size products. There are upgrades you can do and different boxes you can get, but this is the standard box.

I subscribed at the end of April, so my first box is the April box. When I was going through and setting my preferences, I selected a makeup heavy box with a little bit of skincare, and this box is exactly that.

The first product we have is the Murad Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture for eyes. This cream has algae extract and hyaluronic acid so it’s supposed to restore smoothness, seal in moisture and help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I’ve tried a few different Murad products before and really liked them but I’ve never tried any of their eye creams, so I’m excited to try this out and I’ll let you know what I think.

Next we have the Ciate London Eye Lustre Creme Eyshadow in Cupid. This is a lightweight shadow with color shifting pigments that is supposed to be fall out free. This is honestly one of the prettiest shadows I’ve owned. When you look at it in the tube it’s a really pretty purpley/pink, but when it hits the light it shifts to gold. I’m honestly excited to wear this.

Moving on we have the Alamar Cosmetics Colorete Blush Trio in Medium-Tan. As this is a blush trio, you get 3 blushes. The first blush is Seclusion, which is a peachy/orange, then there’s Isla, which is a coral shade and Toasted, which is a rosey pink. I’m wearing Isla today and it’s quite pretty. These blushes have a good amount of pigmentation without being over the top and they blend out nicely.

The second to last product we have is the Vintage By Jessica Liebeskind Cashmere Lip Pencil in Mocha. This is a nice medium brown and it goes on really smooth. I’m wearing it today all over my lips with and I really like the way it looks and how long it wears. About halfway through today I put a Too Faced gloss on top and I still really like how it’s looking. This is a lip pencil I would recommend.

And the last product we have is the Steve Laurant Lip Gloss in Posh. This is a lightweight, high shine lip gloss with opacity but also gives a great color payoff. When I swatched this it came off as an orangey/brown and my first thought was that it would probably look good with the Vintage Cosmetics lip pencil. I don’t always reach for a gloss when I’m doing my lips, but I’ll give this one a try and see what I think.

That about wraps it up for this post, if you guys got any of the same products in your April BoxyCharm box let me know and if not I’d love to know what you did get.

Until next time, enjoy your products and I can’t wait to see what I get in my May BoxyCharm box :).
