Three Recent Looks, Too Faced You Drive Me Glazy Palette

Hi everyone,

As promised, today we have one of my favorite styles of post, a Three Recent Looks, and this time it’s all about the Too Faced You Drive Me Glazy Palette. I’ve really been liking this palette a lot, there’s a lot of versatility and I definitely recommend.

So, for the first look I wanted to do something with the lighter shades, so I went for a champagne sparkle and it’s become one of my favorite subtle sparkly looks.

The first thing I did was prime my face, and you won’t see this in any of the pictures because I had a sample and simply threw it away when I was done without thinking, but I used the YSL Touche Eclat Blur Face Primer. I then applied my Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless Foundation in 205, Ivory, my Item Beauty Air Hug Concealer in 100 and I set it with the Ofra Pressed Banana Powder.

For the rest of my face, I first bronzed and to do that, I used the third shade in the Ace Beaute Bronzed In Paradise Palette. Then I applied the Kiss Miss blush from the Too Faced You Drive Me Glazy palette and used the shade Glowing from the Ace Beaute Glow Essentials Highlighter Palette, to highlight.

When it came to my eyes, the first thing I did was prime them with the Ace Beaute Eyeshadow Amplifying Base in Light. Then I went into the palette and in the crease, I applied a light-ish layer of Drummer Girl. Then, all over my lid, I applied Ho Ho-Nut. I then took Drummer Girl and ran it about 3/4 of the way under my eye and for the rest and the inner corner of my eye, applied Ho Ho-Nut. I lined my eyes with the Seraphine Botanicals Luna Liner and topped it off with the Laura Gellar Lash Boss Mascara. For my lips, I lined them first with the Model Co Illusion Lip Liner and on top of that, applied the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillow Talk. I set everything with the Maven Beauty Rose Water Setting Spray.

For my second look I did something that I do with most every palette, if it’s an option, a brown and gold combo. Now, with this palette there are multiple ways to do brown and gold, but this was the one I was feeling on the day.

The first thing I did was prime my face with the YSL Touche Eclat Blur Face Primer. Then I applied my Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless Foundation in 205, Ivory, my Item Beauty Air Hug Concealer in 100 and I set it with the Ofra Pressed Banana Powder.

For the rest of my face, I went into the Ofra Mini Mix Face Palette in Good To Go and used that for everything. Bronzer is Current, blush is Intentions and highlight is the lightest shade from All Of The Lights.

The first thing I did for my eyes was prime them with the Ace Beaute Eyeshadow Amplifying Base in Light. Then I went into then palette and using Maple Bar, I created a little wing, then brought it about halfway onto my lid. For the rest of my lid I applied Such A Snowflake. I then brought Maple Bar under my eye about halfway and for the rest and the inner corner of my eye, applied more of Such A Snowflake. I wanted a little more depth, but didn’t want to overpower the look with a lot of liner, so I took the NYX Slide On Glide On Eyeliner Pencil in SL15 – Brown Perfection, and did just a little. I topped it off with the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. For my lips, I started to line them with the Beauty Vaulte Kozy Kira liner, but ended up putting it all over my lips, and for a little shine, topped that with a very light layer of the Rare Beauty Stay Vulnerable Glossy Balm in Nearly Neutral. I set everything with the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.

For the third look I wanted to do something more dramatic and use one of the darker shades I had been eyeing because it’s really pretty in the pan and I liked the swatch. I will say, I don’t love how it translated onto the eye, and I had the same problem with this shadow that I did with the shade Jam Packed. I don’t know if it’s just a formulation issue, but by the end of the day, there was only a small line of it left on my eye.

But, as for how I did it, I first primed my face with the YSL Touche Eclat Blur Face Primer. Then I applied my Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless Foundation in 205, Ivory, Item Beauty Air Hug Concealer in 100 and I set it with the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder in Translucent.

For the rest of my face, I first bronzed with the Too Faced Extra Toasty Bronzer. Then I applied the Kiss Miss blush and highlighted with the Too Faced Angel Kisses Highlighter.

For my eyes, the first thing I did was prime them with the Ace Beaute Eyeshadow Amplifying Base in Light. Then I went into the palette, I applied a very light layer of Drummer Girl in the crease. Then all over my lid, I applied Blueberry Blitzen. I didn’t want too dark of an undereye, so I applied Drummer Girl 90% of the way, and for the inner corner of my eye, applied a little bit of the Too Faced Angel Kisses Highlighter. I lined my eyes with the Seraphine Botanicals Luna Liner and topped it off with the Too faced Better Than Sex Mascara. I lined my lips with the Model Co Illusion Lip liner, then filled them in with a light layer of the Sephora Collection #LipStories Lip Balm in Roller Boogie, which I’m really liking, and for a little more shine, I topped that with just a bit of the Nars Afterglow Lip Shine in Orgasm. And I set everything with the Maven Beauty Rose Water Setting Spray.

That about wraps it up for this post, if you have a favorite look let me know which, and if you have this palette, I’d love to know what your favorite look is that you’ve done with it. Like I said, this is one of my favorite styles of post, so look out for more in the future.

Until next time, have fun creating different looks and you can never have too many eyeshadow palettes :).

Too Faced You Drive Me Glazy Review

Hi everyone,

Happy New Year! For my first post of 2023, I have a review and this time it’s a review of the Too Faced You Drive Me Glazy Gift Set. If you’ve been reading for a bit, then you know that around the holidays I typically pick up one of the Too Faced sets. Out of all the ones they released this holiday season I like this one the best and thought that I would get the most use out of it.

So, this set comes with the palette, a mini mascara and an eyeliner. Being called You Drive Me Glazy, it is donut inspired and you can see that with the packaging and the shade names. However, like Too Faced likes to do, it’s supposed to be glazed donut scented and it’s just not. It does have a scent that’s vaguely sweet, but not enough for me to say ‘Oh wow, that smells like donuts.’

So, getting into it, the mascara it comes with is a mini of the Too Faced Better Than Sex. I don’t even have to say anything here, Better Than Sex is a holy grail mascara for so many people, myself included. It has a permanent spot in my makeup collection and it is honestly one of the only mascaras you’ll ever need. So good, so iconic.

One of the things that drew me to this set is that it came with an eyeliner and I hadn’t yet tried a Too Faced liner. The one in here is the Killer Liner Eyeliner Pencil in Killer Black. This says it’s a 36 hour waterproof eyeliner and in the couple of times that I’ve worn it, I can see that. Once you put it on, it’s on and I really like it. I definitely recommend giving it a try if you haven’t.

Moving to the palette, they certainly went big with this one. The packaging is honestly so cute, the outside says ‘Too Faced’ in gold and ‘You Drive Me Glazy’ in white and gold. There’s little stars/snowflakes dotted around that are also gold, there are four different donuts, on the bottom there’s one that’s with white and has a chocolate swirl, next to that is one that’s pink glazed with little round sprinkles. In the top right corner is a classic chocolate glazed donut with multicolored sprinkles and one the left side is a mint glazed donut with chocolate sprinkles. And to top it off, there is a pink and white ribbon like you might see on a box of donuts. Too Faced always does a fantastic job with their packaging and the little details.

Moving to the inside of the palette, they carried over the theme from the cover. The donuts are the same, but smaller with more of them and ‘Too Faced’ is written in the center in gold.

When it comes to the pans for this palette, they kept true to the theme and made them round and compared to holiday palettes of years past, the pan size is pretty good for how many there are. One thing about this palette is it’s not just eyeshadow, it’s eye and face and the face palette comes in the form of four large pans at the bottom.

All of the face products have a nice little shimmer to them and you get a decent shade range. From left to right, the first shade we have is Pink Poinsettia which is a very light pink, that is on the peachy/pink side but because it’s on the lighter side it’s very buildable. Next to that is Drive Me Glazy, which is what I would call a light orange/peachy shade but it’s so pretty. A light dusting of this would add so much to any spring/summer look. Then there’s Kiss Miss and I’ve already worn this and it’s not as bright as it photographs and it blends out really nicely. And the last shade is Fawned Of You, now I did do two layers of this in the swatch because in person it was looking a little light, but it photographed SUPER orange. It’s not that aggressive, but you can definitely tell it’s that orangey/brown and it’s super pigmented.

Now, onto the eyeshadows. There are 20 of them and I swatched them in the rows they appear. The first shadow we have is Son Of A Nutcracker, five points if you know what movie that’s from. But this is a medium nude matte shadow. Next to that is Tinsel In A Twist, a lighter brown shadow. Then there’s Ho Ho-Nut. This one is so pretty, I’ve already worn it and I like it a lot, but it’s a metallic pink champagne/light rose gold. Second to last is Drummer Girl, which is a matte and I would call this somewhere between a blush and pink mauve. And the last shadow in the row is Maple Bar, which is another brown but it’s more chocolate toned than the Tinsel In A Twist.

The second row starts with Bake It Happen which is another matte nude, but this one is more pink based. Next to that is Such A Snowflake, a really pretty metallic light champagne shadow. Then there’s Rum Pah Pum Pum, a brown that tone wise is between the browns in the first row, but this one was slightly patchy when I was swatching it, so I’ll be interested to see how it is on the eye. The second to last shadow is Dough What Fun, which is exactly what it says, it’s somehow that perfect nude/dough color. And the last shadow in the row is Jam-Packed. While it is very pretty and I like it a lot because of the pink/berry shade, I have to say I’m not in love with the performance of this shadow. I wore this the other day and as the day went on it just eroded away, so when I took my makeup off at the end of the night, there was very little of the shadow left on my lid. I am going to wear it again and see if anything changes and I hope it does.

The third row starts with Butter Half, which is a matte yellow, but it’s more of a yellow/orange. Next to that is Chocolate Hunk. This is a deep chocolate brown, I have this on today, and I really like it. It blends well and it’s very buildable. Then there’s Santa Claws, which is a metallic copper, which is a color I always really like. The second to last shadow is O Hole-y Night, which is matte light brown, but it reads like there’s an orange undertone. And the last shadow in the row is Chestnuts Roasting, which is a chestnut brown with gold glitter. This one was also a little patchy on the swatch, so again, I’ll be interested to see what it’s like on the eye.

The fourth and final row starts with S’more To Love, which is a metallic deep brown with multicolored shimmer. Next to that is Fir Sure, another metallic, but this one is a deeper green with brown undertones, think tree if you will and it also has multicolored shimmer. Then there’s Twinkle Sprinkle, I’m wearing this today and I quite like it. It’s a metallic yellow/gold. The second to last shadow we have is Blueberry Blitzen. This is such a pretty and unique shadow. I like it a lot, but it gives me mermaid/peacock vibes and it has pinky/purple shimmer. And the last shadow in the row is To All A Good Night, which is a matte black and honestly it’s something that every palette, especially one of this size, needs so it was a good choice.

That about wraps it up for this post, overall I really do like this palette and I’m excited to do more with it. Be on the lookout for a ‘Three Recent Looks’ post because that will definitely be happening at some point.

Until next time, have fun creating different looks and you can never have too many eyeshadow palettes :).

Sephora Favorites Holiday Lip Kit Review

Hi everyone,

Since we’re in that weird time between Christmas and New Years and no one has any idea what day it is, I thought that this would be the perfect time for a new post. I have a fun one today, and we’re going to be going through the Sephora Favorites Holiday Lip Kit. Every year Sephora brings out a new version of this kit, and I think it’s great. I don’t always love them, but this one went on my wishlist as soon as it came out.

This kit has seven lip products that include lipstick, lip shine, glossy lip balm and lip plumper. Two of the seven are full size.

The first product we’re going to start with is the Rare Beauty Stay Vulnerable Glossy Lip Balm in Nearly Neutral. This is one is full size. This is what I would call medium brown, almost chocolate, in color. When I swatched it it didn’t seem to be overly sticky and even though it’s a glossy lip balm, it doesn’t seem to be too sheer. You definitely get some decent color payoff. I also really like the packaging on this. Most tubes of lip gloss are just that, round tubes that roll everywhere, but this one is flat on the back and I really like little details like that.

Next up we have the second full size product, the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillow Talk. You guys already know, this lipstick is iconic. The hold that it has on the beauty world is absolutely justified, it’s an incredible lipstick. Goes on smooth, lasts all day and the color is perfect. Plus, the packaging is just beautiful. Pillow Talk will forever be part of my makeup collection.

Moving on we have the Nars Afterglow Lip Shine in Orgasm. This is a high shine, hydrating lip gloss that claims it lasts for up to eight hours (which I can confirm, because I’ve already worn it). This is in the shade Orgasm, which is the iconic Nars shade name and color and in this application it’s a very pretty peachy pink with gold shimmer. I really like this, definitely recommend if you’re looking for a really good lip gloss for your collection.

The fourth product we have is the Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme Lip Plumper in Clear. This is also an iconic lip product, this plumper is the go to for a lot of people, including myself, and has been for ages. This has a high shine finish and is actually pretty hydrating.

Next up we have the Urban Decay Vice Hydrating Lipstick in Backtalk. This is a hydrating, long wearing lipstick in a very pretty mauve/nude pink shade. I’m wearing this today and I’m really liking it. It went on super smooth and it’s very pigmented. I definitely recommend if you haven’t given this lipstick a try. It’s also on sale right now at Sephora and they still have a few good shades left, including this one.

The second to last lipstick we have is the GVXE Anaheim Shine High Performance Satin Lipstick in Original Recipe. For anyone that doesn’t know, GVXE is Gwen Stefani’s makeup line. It made a lot of sense to me why this was in this kit when I saw the color because it’s a true red, and beauty wise, one of the things she’s known for is wearing a red lip. And I can honestly say, based on the swatch, that this is a really good red lipstick. It is high shine, which isn’t typically where I lean for a red, but the color is so nice that it’s piqued my interest and I’m excited to wear it.

And the last lip product we have is the Pat McGrath Labs MatteTrance Lipstick in Vendetta. This lipstick calls itself lightweight and richly pigmented with a modern matte finish. I haven’t worn this yet so I can’t comment on the weight of it, but just from the one swipe swatch I did, I can tell you it’s incredibly pigmented. It’s dark red in color and so pretty. It’s that kind of dark red that is starting to lean into berry but still maintains being red and I’m excited to try it out.

That about wraps it up for this post, I’m excited to wear all of these and I’ll let you guys know what I think when I do!

Until next time, I hope you’ve having a great holiday and I’ll see you in January :).

MCoBeauty Burgundy/Nudes Eyeshadow Palette Review

Hi everyone,

It’s been a minute but I’m back and I have a fun one! So, a little backstory, I did a care package swap with one of my close friends who lives in Australia. She sent me a whole box of goodness, and one of the things she included, because she knows me well, was the MCoBeauty Burgundy/Nudes Eyeshadow Palette. From what I understand about MCoBeauty is their whole thing is ‘luxury for less’ and they’re quite popular in Australia. I did find out that they have an international version of their website, so I’ve had a little look and they definitely have some items I would pick up.

But, back to the reason we’re here now, this is the Burgundy/Nudes palette and it is a nine pan palette with a mix of satin and metallic shadows.

I swatched these as they appear and these shadows don’t have names, so the first shadow in the first row is what I would call a light/medium metallic gold. What I noticed about all these shadows as I was swatching is they were all very smooth, seemed to be buildable and for the most part were nicely pigmented and gave you great color payoff. Next to that is a light rose gold satin and the last shadow in the row is what I would call a mix of a light/medium burgundy/a deep dusty rose. I quite like it.

The second row starts with a metallic copper and this one I did have to build up quite a bit to get the swatch that I did, so I’m interested to see this one on the eye. Next to that is a shadow that was in EVERY palette for a while. It’s that deep burgundy shade that has the gold undertones and I still think it’s a very nice shade. And the last shadow in this row is a deep rose gold metallic.

The last row starts with another metallic and this time it’s what I would call a light/medium rose gold but with more pink in it. It’s super pretty. Next to that is metallic that is very similar to the one in the row right above it with the gold undertone, but a few shades lighter and the last shadow in the row and in the palette is a deep purple satin. This would be the perfect shadow to use an eyeliner or to use if you want to create a smokey eye with this palette.

That about wraps it up for this post, overall I’m excited by this palette and can’t wait to give it a try. I’ll probably do a ‘Three Recent Looks’ with it at some point for look out for that.

Until next time, I hope you’re having a great holiday season and you can never have too many eyeshadow palettes :).

Halloween Inspired Makeup Looks

Hi everyone,

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted, but now that it’s getting into the holiday season I wanted to start posting again. I find the content comes a little bit easier during this time of the year, and to that end, today I have a Halloween inspired makeup looks post for you guys. I love this style of post, so I’m excited to be doing it again.

I have two different looks to talk about today, both of which I really love. I think the first one I like a little bit more, but it’s a purple and silver look.

So, the first thing I did was prime my face, and to do that I applied the GlamGlow Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer in Nude Glow. Then I applied my Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless Foundation in 205, Ivory, my Item Beauty Air Hug Concealer in 100 and I set everything with the Ofra Pressed Banana Powder.

For the rest of my face, I first bronzed with the Hanalei Beauty Company Matte Bronzer, then I dropped it on my bathroom floor so it’s currently a little broken and I’m sad about it. Then I went into the Ofra Charm Your Cheeks Mini Blush Palette and applied a mix of Pink Satin and Candy Apple. And I highlighted using a mix of Icy and Poppin’ from the Ace Beaute Glow Essentials Highlighter Palette.

For my eyes, the first thing I did was prime them with the Ace Beaute Eyeshadow Amplifying Base in Light. Then I went into the Ace Beaute Nostalgia Palette and taking the shade Carnival, applied it in the crease. Next I went to the Ace Beaute Falling For You Palette and took the shade Chestnut, applied it in the crease lightly, making sure to really blend it. Then I brought it down and packed it on the outer corner of my eye. For the rest of my eye, I applied the shade Cyborg from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Sultry Palette. I then took a mix of Carnival and Chestnut and put that under my eye about 3/4 of the way and for the inner corner of my eye, applied Poppin’ from the Ace Beaute Glow Essentials Highlighter Palette. I lined my eyes with the BellaPierre Cosmetics Liquid Eyeliner in Black. Because this is a specialized look and I had a specific vision in mind, I decided to put some lashes on and specifically the Flirtacious Looks Cosmetics Baby Girl lashes. For my lips I wanted a shade I didn’t have, so I made it by mixing the Sephora Collection #LipStories Lipstick in 31 and the Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick in Muse. And I set everything with the Maven Beauty Rose Water Setting Spray.

The second look I did is an orange and green, pumpkin inspired look. So the first thing I did was prime my face with the GlamGlow Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer in Nude Glow. Then I applied my Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless Foundation in 205, Ivory, my Item Beauty Air Hug Concealer in 100 and I set it with the Ofra Pressed Banana Powder.

For the rest of my face, I first bronzed with the Hanalei Beauty Company Matte Bronzer, then I applied the e.l.f. Bite Size Face Duo in Lychee and I highlighted with the Too Faced Angel Kisses Highlighter.

For my eyes, the first thing I did was prime them with the Ace Beaute Eyeshadow Amplifying Base in Light. Then I went into the Beauty Bakerie Sour Ya Doin’? Palette and in the crease, applied a mix of Bellini Me and Choctails. I then applied Refresher across my entire eyelid and to add a little dimension, I applied, and blended, just a little bit of Vacation from the Ace Beaute Nostalgia Palette, into the top of the Bellini Me and Choctails mix. I didn’t line my eyes this time, I just went straight to lashes and again, applied the Flirtacious Looks Cosmetics Baby Girl lashes. Then, for the green aspect I took Theme Park from the Nostalgia Palette and mixed that with Silico from the PowerPuff Girls x ColourPop Palette and in the inner corner of my eye, I applied a little bit of the Too Faced Angel Kisses Highlighter. For my lips I first lined them with the Model Co Illusion Lip Liner and filled them in with the Sophia + Mabelle Hydrating Hybrid Lipstick in Topless. I set the whole look with the Maven Beauty Rose Water Setting Spray.

That about wraps it up for this post, let me know which of the two looks is your favorite and if you’re doing a fun look for Halloween, I’d love to know what it is!

Until next time, have fun creating different looks and have a Happy Halloween :).

July 2022 BoxyCharm Unboxing

Hi everyone,

Yesterday I received my July BoxyCharm box and I thought that today would be the perfect day to go through it. We’re in the middle of summer, so the theme for this month is Out Of Office, which makes sense for a lot of people. It is vacation season.

IMG_1950

The first item we have is the The Beauty Crop Liquid Eyeshadow Duo in Ginger and Prosecco. This is a double ended, long wearing liquid eyeshadow. One side, Ginger in this case, is a creamy velvet pigmented matte shadow and the other side, Prosecco, is what they call a dazzling liquid glitter. They say these are easy to blend, and they can be layered, mixed or matched. They have 6 of these double ended shadows in total, in a range of fun colors, which I appreciate. While I do like these colors, I don’t really wear liquid eyeshadow a lot and I didn’t swatch these because I’m going to give this to a friend who loves liquid shadows. I did get a code from The Beauty Crop and if you use BFA25 at checkout, you receive 25% off orders over $30 on their website and this is valid until the end of July.

IMG_1956

Next we have the Beauty For Certain Whole Lotta Mascara. This is a volume boosting, lash doubling, insta enhancing mascara. This is a brand that’s new to BoxyCharm and looks to be newer in general as they don’t have that many products on their website, but what they do have is looks like it might be good. I like the general shape of this brush and if I like this mascara, I’ll try more from their website and let you know what I think.

IMG_1957

IMG_1958

Moving on, we have the Byroe Fig Renewal Oil. This is a nourishing dry oil that offers complete skin renewal that results in silky soft and effortlessly ageless skin. This has fresh fig, jojoba oil, pro floral concentrate and omega rich superfoods to revitalize and nourish. It’s lightweight and absorbs quickly into skin. So here’s my thing with this, it looks and sounds really nice, but I’m really thrown off by the fact that it says ‘Salad Infused Beauty’ on top of the box, that doesn’t sound very nice. Although, when you smell it, instead of it smelling like fig or something light and floral like you would think, it smell has that ‘lettuce with dirt on it’ smell, which might be where the whole salad thing comes in, but it’s weird to me. You also get 0.67 FL OZ/20 ML for $72, which is just outrageous to me. But I’ll use it a couple times and see what I think. I hope for all this, it’s incredible. The bottle is gorgeous though, so it has that going for it.

IMG_1960

IMG_1959

The second to last item we have is the Alleyoop Stack The Odds in Sassy Pants. This was my Choice item for the month. This is a 3 in 1 stackable compact with a cream blush, bronzer and highlighter. This has jojoba and sunflower seed oil for a natural glow and when I swatched them they were smooth, creamy and seemed to be very pigmented. On the inside of the box it says ‘$10 on us, meetalleyoop.com/gift’ and if you go to the website, you put in your email and you get a $10 credit.

I think the idea of a stackable compact is super cute and perfect for traveling/throwing in your purse on the daily and this one does have a little mirror.

And the last item we have is the Eloise Beauty Prism Luxury Eye Shadow Brush Set. This set has four brushes made with synthetic fibers that seem very soft to me and a holographic prism handle. There’s no actual description of the brushes you get, but it looks like an angled eyeshadow brush, two flat eyeshadow brushes, and a really small eyeshadow brush, the type I like to use for putting shadow under my eyes.

That about wraps it up for this post, if you got any of the same items in your July BoxyCharm box let me know and if not, I’d love to know what you did get.

Until next time, enjoy your items and I can’t wait to see what I get next month :).

Three Recent Looks, Violet Voss SunKissed Summer Palette

Hi everyone,

Today I have one of my favorite styles of post, a Three Recent Looks. And this time it’s with the Violet Voss SunKissed Summer Palette. I received this in BoxyCharm in June and I really like it. It really is a fantastic palette for summer because you have those gold tones, but there’s a lot of versatility within it. That being said, let’s get into it.

For the first look I did, I wanted to play with one of the shadows that wasn’t gold, so I went to the bronzey/rose gold side and I like this look a lot. The first thing I did was prime my face with the Yensa Tone Up Primer Essential Glow. Then I applied my Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless Foundation in 205, Ivory, my Item Beauty Air Hug Concealer in 100 and I set it with the Ofra Pressed Banana Powder.

IMG_1867

For the rest of my face, I first bronzed and for that I used the Too Faced Extra Toasty bronzer. I applied the Too Faced Daydreamer blush and highlighted with a mix of Glowing and Gleaming from the Ace Beaute Essential Glow Highlighter Palette

IMG_1868

IMG_1875

For my eyes, the first thing I did was prime them with the Ace Beaute Eyeshadow Amplifying Base in Light. Then I went into the palette. I took Cool Down and put that in the crease, then I took Sunnies Out and applied that over my entire eyelid. I then took Cool Down and ran that about 3/4 of the way under my eye and for the the other 1/4 and the inner corner of my eye, I applied Sunnies Out. I lined my eyes with the Seraphine Botanicals Luna Liner and topped it off with the Too Faced Damn Girl Mascara. For my lips, I first lined them with the Model Co Lip Enhancer Illusion Lip Liner, then filled them in with the Sophia + Mabelle Hydrating Hybrid Lipstick in Topless and I set the whole look with the Maven Beauty Rose Water Setting Spray

IMG_1869

IMG_1876

IMG_1696

IMG_1697

For the second look, this is where I tried one of the gold shadows and a lot of the time when I do a gold look I like to have a brown shadow to balance, and this palette has the perfect brown, so that’s exactly what I did. I love this look and I’m so happy with how it turned out. So the first thing I did was prime my face with the Yensa Tone Up Primer Essential Glow. Then I applied my Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless Foundation in 205, Ivory, my Item Beauty Air Hug Concealer in 100 and I set everything with the Ofra Pressed Banana Powder.

IMG_1867

For the rest of my face, I used the Ofra Mini Mix Face Palette in Good To Go. So the bronzer is in the shade Current, I applied the Intentions blush and highlighted with a mix of the top and bottom shades from the All of the Lights highlighter.

For my eyes, the first thing I did was prime them with the Ace Beaute Eyeshadow Amplifying Base in Light. Then I went into the palette and the first thing I did was apply a light layer of Sandbar in the crease. Next I took Tan Lines and packed it on the outer corner of my eye, bringing it up into the crease just a little bit. For the rest of my lid I applied Gold Coast. I then took Tan Lines and ran it under my eye about halfway, for the other half and the inner corner of my eye, I applied Gold Coast. I lined my eyes with the Chella Dual Liquid Eyeliner Pen in Black and topped it off with the Too Faced Damn Girl Mascara. For my lips, I took the Dominique Cosmetics Creamy Fill & Define Lip Liner in Crush and used it as an all over lip color, topping it with the Nars Afterglow Lip Balm in Laguna. I set the whole look with the Maven Beauty Rose Water Setting Spray.

When it came to the third look, I really wanted to play with the darker cranberry shade that’s in the palette and I’m glad I did because it’s so good and I like this look a lot. The first thing I did was prime my face with the Yensa Tone Up Primer Essential Glow. Then I applied my Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless Foundation in 205, Ivory, my Item Beauty Air Hug Concealer in 100 and I set everything with the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder in Translucent

IMG_1872

For the rest of my face, I first bronzed with the Hanalei Beauty Company Matte Bronzer, then I went to the Ofra Mini Mix Face Palette in Charm Your Cheeks and applied a mix of the Pink Satin and Candy Apple blushes. And I highlighted with Radiant from the Ace Beaute Essential Glow Highlighter Palette.

IMG_1873

IMG_1879

For my eyes, I first primed them with the Ace Beaute Eyeshadow Amplifying Base in Light. Then I went into the palette, and the first thing I did was apply Cool Down in the crease. Then I took Berry Hot, that gorgeous dark cranberry glitter, and applied that on my entire eyelid. Even though it is a glitter, there wasn’t a ton of fallout like there can be with other glitter shadows, and I really appreciate that. I lined my eyes with the Chella Dual Liquid Eyeliner Pen in Black and topped it off with the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. For my lips, I first lined them with the Model Co Lip Enhancer Illusion Lip Liner and filled them in with the V Kosmetik Creamy Liquid Velvet Lipstick in Bubbly. I set the whole look with the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray

That about wraps it up for this post, like I said, this is always one of my favorite styles of post, so look out for more in the future. If any of you guys have this palette, I’d love to know what your favorite look is that you’ve done with it and if you don’t let me know which of these three is your favorite.

Until next time, have fun creating different looks and you can never have too many eyeshadow palettes :).

June 2022 Favorites

Hi everyone,

Happy Friday! As it’s the last day of the month, I thought it would be the perfect time to do my monthly favorites. I have a pretty good mix of stuff this month, so let’s get into it.

Starting with beauty, I have a couple of favorites from my June BoxyCharm box, and if you haven’t read that yet, I’ll link it below. My first Boxy favorite is the Chella Dual Liquid Eyeliner Pearl. This is a double ended liquid eyeliner, one side is blue, the other is black and they are formulated with pearl pigments to give them a nice shine. I have yet to try the blue, but I’ve been wearing the black and I like it a lot. The pearl doesn’t come through quite as much but I don’t mind. It’s long wearing, doesn’t smudge and because the brush is tapered, it gives you a lot of control over the size and style of the line you’re doing. I definitely recommend.

My next beauty favorite is the Violet Voss SunKissed Summer Eyeshadow and Pressed Pigment Palette. I am currently working on a Three Recent Looks with this palette, so I won’t say too much, but I do really like it. The formulation and pigmentation of the shadows is top tier. There’s quite a bit of diversity within the colors and you see that once you start swatching, so you have quite a few options when it comes to looks with this palette. I really like Violet Voss as a brand, I have a couple of their other palettes and they’re a mainstay in my eyeshadow palette collection.

IMG_1679

IMG_1680

My second to last beauty favorite is the Yensa Tone Up Primer Essential Glow. I was slightly unsure if my skin would like this when I got it, but I’ve been using it since and I can tell you that both myself and my skin are very happy with it. It has 8 super powered skin loving ingredients, black sesame oil, black seaweed, black tea, shiitake mushroom, black rice, Korean black raspberry, nettle and chia seed. There is no parabens, sulfates, mineral oil, phthalates and it’s animal cruelty free. What this does do is makes your makeup last all day while minimizing the appearance of pores, fine lines and wrinkles while having a satin-sheen finish. I can be kind of picky with what I like in a face primer, but this one has found a way into my makeup bag and I think it will be there for a while.

IMG_1683

And my last beauty favorite is the Volition Beauty Turmeric Brightening Polish. I’ve been using this since I got it and I like it a lot. This is turmeric based and it helps to brighten, smooth, tone and hydrate skin while helping to promote overall skin radiance and give you a natural glow. I think a good scrub is always a good thing to have. I use this on my legs when I shave and I’ve been seeing a definite difference. My legs are even softer than they were before and they are definitely extra hydrated. My only thing is because this is turmeric based, it doesn’t smell the best, but I can definitely overlook that because of the results. If you’re looking for a good body scrub, I would recommend giving this a try.

IMG_1684

Moving on, I have a book favorite and it’s Long Train Runnin’ Our Story of The Doobie Brothers by Tom Johnston and Pat Simmons with Chris Epting. I’ve mentioned before how much I love The Doobie Brothers, they are a band I grew up with, they were a HUGE part of my childhood, and I still love them just as much. So when I saw Pat and Tom where releasing a book I was incredibly excited and this is everything I wanted it to be and more. There were obviously some stories I knew, some I knew parts of and a lot that I didn’t know at all, it was incredibly interesting to read the different perspectives from the guys that were there and not just one long story. There were parts where I laughed, parts where I felt all the emotions, a lot of Tom when he was leaving the band, but I think what I did the most, what this book kind of forced me to do was go back and look at a lot of their songs in a different way. The lyrics, the arrangements, all of it. I guess what I’m trying to say is that it made me really, listen to the music. And I thank Pat and Tom for taking the time to write it down because The Doobie Brothers have such and incredible story and history and I’m honored to know more of it than ever before. If you are a casual or longtime fan of theirs or just love music history I highly recommend giving this book a read. You will learn so much and the pictures they included are fantastic.

IMG_1627

And my last favorite isn’t a music favorite, although there are some songs I am liking right now, that’s for next month’s favorites, but it’s a podcast favorite. My podcast. I mention my podcast The Unlikely Motorsports Duo each month because I feel like we grow so much every time we release an episode. We have a spicy one up at the moment on our Twitch channel from this week, go watch it (please and thank you!). And something else that’s exciting, we now have merch! We currently have mugs, can koozies, stickers and magnets. Also, if you are a driver, brand, company or involved in motorsports in any way and want to be represented on another platform, let’s do a merch swap! I always wear some form of motorsports merchandise during the show so if you have clothes, stickers, mugs, etc, reach out and we’ll do that! My cohost and I are having a ton of fun doing the show and we’re excited to keep growing. We actually have a fun motorsports based game night coming up, so keep an eye on my social media for the time and date of that!

IMG_1553

That about wraps it up for this month, if we have any of the same favorites let me know and if not, I’d love to know what your June favorites were.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope you had a great June :).

June 2022 BoxyCharm Unboxing

Hi everyone,

I received my June BoxyCharm box yesterday and I thought that today would be the perfect time to go through it. The theme this month, as it’s Pride Month, is express yourself.

IMG_1669

The first item we have is the DryBar Liquid Glass Miracle Smoothing Sealant. This is a heat activated spray that wraps an invisible shield around your hair to provide frizz resistance and leave you with silky, super glossy hair. It’s lightweight, lasts through 3 washes and protects from heat up to 450 degrees F/232 degrees C. I love things like this, my hair does get a little frizzy sometimes when I apply heat to it, so I’m excited to try this out.

IMG_1675

Next up we have the Chella Dual Liquid Eyeliner Pearl. This is a double ended liquid eyeliner with an icy blue liner and a black liner. These say they are longwearing, smudge proof and glide on effortlessly. The brush is tapered, it does give you a lot of control on the size and style of line that you want, which is always really nice. What makes these pearl liners is the fact that thy are formulated with pearl pigments, which you’ll see in the swatch, does give them a nice bit of shimmer. Based on the swatch alone, these look a little bit runny and the blue wasn’t as pigmented as I was thinking it was going to be, but that might change once it’s on the eye. I also think that this liner is a bit overpriced, I get that it’s a dual liner, but I think that $35.00 is a bit much.

IMG_1677

IMG_1678

IMG_1685

Moving on, we have my Choice item for the month, the Violet Voss SunKissed Summer Eyeshadow and Pressed Pigment Palette. This palette has universally flattering shades to help you create the most iconic summer looks, year round with it’s blend of matte and metallic shadows. I do really like the outer packaging, it had great summer vibes.

IMG_1679

This is a 10 pan palette and though it’s a summer and sun focused palette, I think there’s a lot of room to create different looks.

IMG_1680

You do get a nice little mirror with this palette, which I always like, because you don’t always get that with palettes this size.

IMG_1681

Just from looking at it, I could tell these shades were going to be gorgeous. Violet Voss always does a fantastic job of formulating their shadows. The mattes are always very smooth and the metallics are incredibly pigmented.

IMG_1682

I swatched these in the rows they appear. The first shadow we have is Sandbar, which is a matte sandy shade. Next to that is Sunkissed, a metallic light gold that leans more towards the yellow gold area. Then there’s Sunsation, a light matte shade that I would say is like a mix of gold and a light caramel. Next to that is Gold Coast, another metallic gold, but this one is a deep gold. And the last shadow in the row is Heatwave, a really pretty metallic bronzey shade.

IMG_1686

The second row starts with Glow On, a really pretty metallic that I would say is a light peachy/gold. Next to that is Cool Down, a matte shadow that I think is kinda unique. It’s a mix of what I would say is rose and maybe mauve, it’s quite nice. Then there’s Sunnies Out, a metallic rose gold, which is always a great shade to have in any palette, especially one for summer. Next to that is Berry Hot, which is a shadow I like a lot. I would say it’s a deep cranberry in shade, but it’s a glitter, and when I swatched it the glitter didn’t fall everywhere, always a huge plus, but it was so pretty when it hit the light. I’m excited to wear this one. And the last shadow in the row is Tan Lines, a matte medium brown, which might seem a little boring in a palette like this, but most of the time when I do a gold look, I balance it with a matte brown shadow of some sort, so I was really happy to see it included.

IMG_1687

The second to last item we have is the Yensa Tone Up Primer Essential Glow. This isn’t just your average primer. This is infused with 8 super powered skin loving ingredients to help with minimizing the appearance of pores, fine lines and wrinkles. It has a lightweight satin-sheen formula to create an invisible skin perfecting finish. The 8 ingredients it uses to help with this are black sesame oil, black seaweed, black tea, shiitake mushroom, black rice, Korean black raspberry, nettle and chia seed. What it doesn’t have is parabens, sulfates, mineral oil, phthalates and it’s animal cruelty free. I have this on right now, and so far I’m liking it. I’ll keep using it and let you guys know what I think after putting it to the test.

IMG_1683

And the last item we have is the Volition Beauty Turmeric Brightening Polish. This is an indulgent polishing scrub, powered by turmeric to visibly brighten and smooth, tone and hydrate and promote overall skin radiance to give you a natural looking glow. I do like a good scrub, and a nice, natural glow is always wanted, especially heading into summer, so I’m interested to try this out.

IMG_1684

That about wraps it up for this post, I do generally like a more makeup heavy box, but there are some good things in here. If you got any of the same items in your June BoxyCharm box let me know and if not, I’d love to know what you did get.

Until next time, enjoy your products and I can’t wait to see what I get next month :).

May 2022 Favorites

Hi everyone,

As it’s the last day of the month, I thought it would be the perfect time to do my May favorites. I had a busy month with a lot going on, so I didn’t try a whole lot of new/different things, but I think I have a nice little list so let’s get into it.

Starting with beauty, I have three favorites from my May BoxyCharm box and if you haven’t read that, I’ll link it below. My first Boxy favorite is the Item Beauty by Addison Rae Air Hug Concealer in 100. This is a medium to full coverage concealer with a lightweight formula. I was worried when I saw this because we’ve seen before that a lot of “influencer” or “celebrity” makeup lines, aren’t great but honestly I’m so impressed with this. The formulation is really nice, so when you apply it it basically glides on and blends into the skin without creasing. It also has a really nice, big doe foot applicator and I think that helps with the easy application. This now has a permanent spot in my makeup bag and I 100% recommend giving it a try if you haven’t.

My next beauty favorite is the V Kosmetik Creamy Liquid Velvet Lipstick in Bubbly. I really, really like this lipstick. It has a lightweight formula, it’s creamy and very longwearing. The color is also a major plus. It’s a gorgeous berry tone that I think is quite versatile. It would be nice in the fall/winter months but it also plays well to the spring/summer months. This my first introduction to V Kosmetik as it’s a new brand to BoxyCharm, but I’m really interested to see what other lipsticks and products in general, they have.

IMG_1395

And my last beauty favorite is the Yensa Skin On Skin Beauty Sponge. This is a multi-functional sponge that guarantees skin like, streak free, full coverage. It’s paraben, sulfate, latex, phthalate and animal cruelty free. I thought that it felt a little bit harder than what I typically go for, but once it was wet, it softened up and was nice to use.

IMG_1424 (1)

IMG_1425 (1)

Moving on, I have a racing favorite and it’s not just any race, it’s the Greatest Spectacle in Racing, the Indy 500. Once you have friends that are race car drivers it automatically makes all races more stressful but also more fun and exciting. And this year was incredible exciting. The USAF Thunderbirds did an incredible job, as always, with the flyover, Roger Penske and the Penske Corporation did a fantastic job putting on the first 500 with an almost full capacity crowd since the pandemic. The racing was top tier, everyone was on their game and the last couple laps were some of the most stressful I’ve watched in a while, but in a good way. I obviously have to congratulate Marcus Ericsson and Chip Ganassi Racing on their win, that’s so exciting. And I also want to say that I’m super proud of Tony Kanaan for his third place finish. If you guys watched the 500 this year I’d love to know what your favorite moment was.

And my last favorite isn’t a music favorite, but a podcast favorite. My podcast to be exact. I have talked about my podcast before, but we just rebranded! This will be the last name change, I promise, but we are now The Unlikely Motorsports Duo. This is the best, most representative name we’ve had and I’m so happy with it. We will at some point be changing our logo, we don’t know what we’re changing it to yet, but leave me comment with your thoughts and don’t forget to join us at https://www.twitch.tv/theunlikelymotorsportsduo for motorsports commentary!

IMG_1553

That about wraps it up for this post, if we had any of the same favorites this month let me know and if not, I’d love to know what your May favorites were.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope you had a great May :).
