Three Recent Makeup Looks Winter Edition

Hi everyone,

Today I’m going to be showing and walking through three of my recent makeup looks. I always enjoy doing this type of post, and with that being said, let’s get into it.

The first look we have is from right after Christmas when I was wanting to try out my new makeup, so I had a little look through the Too Faced Christmas Cookie House Party collection. I did do a post on that recently, so I will link that down below. The first thing I did was prime my face with the Make Up For Ever Step 1 Smoothing Primer, I’ve been using this primer for a while and I really like it. It gives me a great base to work with. Then I went in with my foundation, the Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless in 205, Ivory. After that I used the Maybelline Fit Me concealer in 5, Ivory and I put that under my eyes to highlight and a few other places. And I topped that off with the Too Faced Peach Perfect Mattifying Loose Setting Powder in Translucent Peach Whisper. This has quickly become one of my go to setting powders, it gives you a great smooth finish and it smells like peaches which is a nice addition.

For the rest of my face I used the blush, bronzer, highlighter palette from the Christmas Cookie House Party collection. The bronzer, Extra Toasty is a really nice lighter brown and it blends really nicely. The blush, Daydreamer is a lighter to medium pink and it’s very buildable and the highlighter, Get Frosted, is gold with pink undertones and it’s so pretty.

IMG_5014

For my eye look I wanted to do something simple but fun. So the first thing I did was use the Too Faced 24+ Hour Anti Crease Shadow Insurance Eye Shadow Primer. This primer is great, it locks in my eye shadow and it works really well with glitter and shimmer shadows. Then I went in with What A Batch, I used that as my base shadow and because it’s a lighter brown that gives off a nice color, I used a little extra in the crease. Then I used Secret Santa, a deep chocolate brown on the outer corner and brought it in a bit and blended. I then took Easy Bake Lovin’ which is a really pretty, and pigmented, deep sparkly copper and put that over the rest of my eyelid and blended. I used the Kat Von D Beauty Tattoo Liner in Trooper and topped it off with the Smashbox Super Fan Fanned Out mascara. To bring the look together I used the Too Faced Peach Kiss Lipstick in Sex On The Peach. There are a ton of different shades of these lipsticks but they’re all really pigmented, long wearing and smell like peaches.

My second look was from that time between Christmas and New Years when no one really knows what to do with themselves and for the first time in a while, I was bored. So I thought that having fun with makeup would be a great way to use my time. I was right.

For this look, I used the GlamGlow Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer in Nude Glow, then same base as the previous look. Covergirl + Olay Simple Ageless foundation in 205, Ivory. Maybelline Fit Me concealer in 5, Ivory and Too Faced Peach Perfect Mattifying Loose Setting Powder.

IMG_5012

For the rest of my face I used the Too Faced Extra Toasty bronzer, the Seraphine Botanicals Lychee + Gold Healthy Glow Rose-Gold Blush, which is one of my favorites. And the Too Faced Get Frosted highlighter. The rose gold sparkle in the blush goes so well with the tone and sparkle of Get Frosted.

IMG_5015

IMG_5016

For my eyes I went to the smaller palette in the Christmas Cookie House Party collection and after using the Too Faced Shadow Insurance, I first went in with On A Roll which is a light beigey nude and I used that as a base and I put a little extra in the crease. Then I used Can’t Catch Me, which is a dark brown, in the outer corner and I brought that in a little bit. I then picked the glitter shadow that on first glance stood out the most and that is Snow Pink and it’s rose gold. Since this look I’ve worn another glitter shadow and they’re all so good. I went with my go to Kat Von D Beauty Tattoo Liner in Trooper for liner and finished the look with the Lancome Monsieur Big mascara, my favorite of the Lancome mascaras. I wanted a more neutral lip so I used the Too Faced Peach Kiss Lipstick in Sex On The Peach. And spritzed my face with the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.

And the third look we have is from NYE. For this look I wanted to do something fun and play with color.

My base for this look is the same as the previous, GlamGlow Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer in Nude Glow primer, Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless foundation in 205, Ivory, Maybelline Fit Me concealer in 5, Ivory and Too Faced Peach Perfect Mattifying Loose Setting Powder.

IMG_5012

For the rest of my face, I used one of my favorite bronzers, Benefit Hoola, then I used the Model Co blush in Peach Bellini and the Too Faced Get Frosted highlighter.

IMG_5017

IMG_5018

For my eyes, the first thing I did was apply the Too Faced Shadow Insurance Eye Shadow primer, then I went in with Cream Filling, which is a nude and I used that as a base. Then I used That’s My Jam, a really fun and pretty berry toned purple and I used that on the outer corner of my eye and brought it in about halfway and blended. I wanted something that would add sparkle and go with the purple, so I used Tinsel Town, which is a sparkly purple/white. I then used the Kat Von D Beauty Tattoo Liner in Trooper and brought it together with the Urban Decay Perversion mascara. I wanted a little bit of sparkle on my lips as well so I used the Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Liquid Lipstick in Crush and topped it with 69, Winter Blizzard from the Sephora Collection Frosted Kisses #LipStories set. It’s a metallic white base with pink shimmer and it’s so gorgeous. Then I spritzed my face with the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.

That about wraps it up for this post, like I said, I quite like doing this type of post so look out for more in the future.

Until next time, have fun creating different looks and makeup is always fun :).

Three Recent Makeup Looks, Summer 2019

Hi everyone,

Today I’m going to be doing one of my favorite styles of post and that’s showing you guys three of my recent makeup looks and how I achieved them. These range from May to July and are looks that I had a lot of fun with. There are a few things I want to mention quickly, when I was taking the pictures there were a few things that I forgot to include. For every look I used the Make Up For Ever Step 1 Smoothing Primer and the Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base. And I finished the first and third look with the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray and I finished the second look with the Supergoop Defense Refresh Setting Mist Broad Spectrum SPF 50, I used that because I was outside all day, it was sunny, and I wanted a little SPF. With that being said, let’s get into it.

So the first look is from May, there was a stretch of a week or so where the weather was amazing and I wanted a fun glowy look to match. So for my face, once I primed, I went in with my foundation which is the Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless Foundation in 205, Ivory. Then I used the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 5, Ivory to highlight under my eyes and a few other places. I’ve been using 5 and 10 together but my skin has been so good recently I’ve been using one or the other. And to top that off I used the Kat Von D Beauty Lock-It Setting Powder in Translucent. I put it all over my face, but I always pack a little extra under my eyes to do a little baking.

RML1

For the rest of my face, the first thing I used is my current favorite bronzer, the Nars bronzing powder in Laguna. This is so pretty and when it hits the light it has a beautiful glow. Then I used the Seraphine Botanicals Lychee + Gold Healthy Glow Rose Gold blush. This is a blush I like a lot because it’s the perfect pinky/peachy shade for any time of year and it has a rose gold sparkle to it. And I finished it off with the Too Faced Dashing Through The Glow highlighter. This is from the Super Fun Night palette and there’s not that much of it left. It’s a really nice champagne shade and it blends really nicely. I’m in the market for new highlighters so let me know the ones that you guys are loving.

RML2

RML3

Moving on to eyes, after I primed, because I wanted a glowy look I went with golds and the first that I used is the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Rose Gold and I put it all over the lid. I really like the Caviar Sticks, they’re pretty versatile, nicely pigmented and I like the way they blend. Then I went into the Anastasia Beverly Hills Sultry palette and used Steampunk and Cinder in the crease and the outer lid and blended until I was happy with the look. I then took Steampunk and put in on my lower lash line to bring the look together. I used a little Dashing Through The Glow to highlight under my brow bone and filled in my brows using Dystopian. I then used my trusty Kat Von D Beauty Tattoo Liner and topped it off with the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. Lipstick wise I used the LOC Color Me Confident Vibrant Matte Lipstick, which is one of my favorite reds.

RML4

RML5

RML15

Moving on, the second look we have is from the 4th of July. I always try to be patriotic with my makeup on the 4th and I’m happy with the way this one came out. And overall, even though it was different to how my typical 4th would look it was such a fun day. This is when I used the Supergoop Setting Mist which kept my face protected, I didn’t feel sticky which sometimes can happen with an SPF, and my makeup stayed in place. For my face I used the same base as the first look.

RML1

For the rest of my face I used the Nars bronzing powder in Laguna, the Seraphine Botanicals blush and for my highlight I used the Tini Beauty Barfly Highlighter in Candlelit. I like this one because it’s a really nice pinky shade that is so gorgeous when light hits it you get a lovely glow.

RML6

RML7

For my eyes, after priming, I went into the Anastasia Beverly Hills Sultry palette and first used Twig in the crease and then Slate a little bit lower and blended. Then I went into the Too Faced Smokey Eye palette and used Smolder on the outer corner, blending and bringing it in a little bit. I then went back to the ABH palette and used Cyborg on the rest of the lid and blended a little. For my liner I used Kat Von D Beauty Tattoo Liner and the Urban Decay Perversion mascara. And I topped it off with the LOC Color Me Confident Vibrant Matte Lipstick.

RML8

RML9

RML16

And the third look we have is from the other day. It was a rainy day and I wanted to have fun with color and create something vibrant. For my face I used the same base as the previous looks.

RML1

For the rest of my face I used the Nars bronzing powder in Laguna, then I switched it up for my blush. I placed an order at Sephora recently and one of the samples I selected was some Buxom Wanderlust blushes because I’ve never tried them. What I ended up doing was mixing them and they created a really nice color. What I used was Dolly, which is a mauve and Mykonos, which is a peachy shade. And for my highlight I used Dashing Through The Glow.

RML10

RML11

For my eyes, after priming, I went into the Colourpop She palette and used Dear in the crease and a little bit lower. Then I went with Missy in the outer corner, making sure to blend and bringing it in a little bit. Then I used Babe on the rest of the lid, blending a little and because I wanted a bit more sparkle I went into the ABH Sultry palette and put a little bit of Pearl on top of Babe. Then I used the Kat Von D Beauty Tattoo Liner and the Urban Decay Perversion mascara. For my lipstick I took two matte liquid lipsticks, Anastasia Beverly Hills Crush and MDMFlow Retro and mixed them together, which I’ve done before and it creates a really pretty pinky shade. And I topped that with the Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme Lip Gloss for a little sparkle/shine and some plumping. What I like about this lip plumper is you can feel and see it working but it’s not so crazy to where it feels like your lips are going to fall off.

RML18

RML13

RML14

RML17

That about wraps it up for this post, like I mentioned, these are some of my favorite posts to write so look out for more in the future and I’d love to know which of the three looks is your favorite. And I am going to link everything that I could find below.

Until next time, have fun creating your looks and you can never take too many makeup of the day pictures :).

April Favorites

Hi everyone,

As it’s the last day of April, I thought today would be the perfect day to do my favorites. I think that I have a pretty good mix this month, so let’s get into it.

Starting with beauty, I have a couple of favorites from my April Sephora Play Box, I’ll leave a link to that down below if you haven’t read it. The first is the Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream. I’ve been using an eye cream that I really liked but I was interested by this because I’m a big Clinique fan. And since I started using it I’ve not been disappointed. It hydrates, brightens and I feel like I look more refreshed. So this now has a permanent spot in my skincare cabinet.

APB9

My second Sephora Play favorite is the Make Up For Ever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primer in Smoothing Primer. I really like this, it smells good and it’s lightweight. It also really locks in my makeup and when I put it on I feel like it really gives me an extra nice surface to work with. If you’re looking for a new primer I would say definitely check this one out.

APB7

My last Sephora Play favorite is the Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Treatment in Dream. I put this on before I go to bed and the next morning I can see/feel the difference. My lips are very moisturized and they have a slight plump to them. This also smells really good and there’s a slight pink tint to it so if you wanted to wear this during the day you’d get a little color.

APB4

APB5

APB6

And my last beauty favorite is hairstyle. I got bored a few weeks ago and wanted to change up my bun a little so after I pulled my hair into a high ponytail I decided to braid it then shape it into the bun and I’m really happy with how it turned out. APRF3

APRF2

Next I have a fashion favorite and it’s this off the shoulder light blue top with little flowers on the sleeves from H&M. I bought this a little while and hadn’t had a chance to wear it yet, so when Easter came around I figured it was a good time. And I finished this look with a pair of white wedges. I don’t know if you can still get this top but they have quite a few other off the shoulder options.

APRF6

Moving on I have a food favorite and it’s Meiji Hello Panda cookies. I was at the grocery store a few weeks ago in the Asian food section looking for Pocky and I saw these next to it on the shelf. And they’re little cream filled cookies that are shaped like pandas and have pandas doing various activities on them. I bought them in strawberry and in the store they also had chocolate, which I want to try and I believe there are other flavors you can get online. But they’re really good and a fun little snack.

APRF4

APRF5

My second to last favorite is a puzzle I did at the beginning of the month. You guys know how much I love puzzles. This one is 1,000 pieces and it took me a little longer to complete than the last one I did but most of the pieces are similar color, which in the grand scheme of things I appreciate. But this is a Thomas Kinkade and it’s a winter scene. Thomas Kinkade puzzles are always so pretty and I have a few sitting in my Amazon cart right now.

APRF1

And my last favorite is a music favorite. It’s the Doobie Brothers Brotherhood album. This album falls into that time period of the band’s music that I didn’t previously know a lot about and I only recently got into. And let me tell you, this album in my opinion, is super underrated. I mean top to bottom it’s full of fantastic, well written, well produced songs. If you haven’t ever listened to it, I would 100% recommend doing so.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we had any of the same favorites let me know and if not I’d love to know what you favorites were.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope you had a great April :).

April Sephora Play Unboxing

Hi everyone,

The other day I received my April Play Box from Sephora and I thought that today would be the perfect day to go through it. The theme this month is Winning Beauty, meaning that these products rate highly with the people. The bag this month is the same style as the previous months in the fact that it’s plastic and has a snap and lock closure, but this one is a really nice dark pink shade. So the front is see through pink with various lifestyle and beauty products and Play! By Sephora in the middle. The back is white and says ‘Player. A beauty connoisseur with a keen sense of *adventure* #SephoraPlay’ written in pink.

APB1

The first product we have is the Sephora Collection Triple Action Cleansing Water. You put this on a cotton ball/cotton pad and it’s supposed to not only remove your makeup but any dirt and impurities. This is soap free so there’s no need to rinse after using it and it has Matcha Green Tea extract which is great for the skin. I don’t use anything like this in my current skincare routine, so I’m interested to try this out.

APB8

The next product we have is the Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream. This eye cream is lightweight and is supposed to hydrate and brighten your skin while helping to depuff so you’re left looking refreshed. I always talk about how much I love my current eye cream, but I’m big Clinique fan, so I’m excited to try this. I’ll let you guys know what I think.

APB9

Moving on, we have the Make Up For Ever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primer in Smoothing Primer. I’ve been using this since I got it and I really like it. It’s lightweight, I know that when I put this on my makeup is going to stay in place and I feel hydrated while using it. Plus it smells good. If you’re looking for a new primer I would definitely recommend this one.

APB7

Next up we have the Urban Decay Perversion Mascara in Black. This is a mascara that I use all the time and I love it. It has a nice big brush that gets to all of your lashes so you get that full bodied and volumized look. And it doesn’t clump.

APB2

The second to last product we have is the Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment in Dream. I’ve also been using this since I got it and I have to say I’m really liking it. It has sugar, sea fennel and orange extract and the combination of the three is doing wonders for my lips. I put this on before I go to bed and my lips always feel moisturized the next day. I can also see that they’re plumper after using this. Plus it smells good. This has a slight pink tint to it so you can wear it on it’s own and get a little color. But it also comes in translucent.

APB4

APB5

APB6

And the last product we have, this month’s bonus, is the Christophe Robin Cleansing Volumizing Paste with Pure Rassoul Clay and Rose Extracts. This is a shampoo that has clay and it transforms from a paste into a foam. It’s supposed to absorb oil and impurities, help to create volume that comes from the roots and help to lock in your color. I’ve never used anything like this before so I’m intrigued by it.

APB3

That about wraps it up for this post, if you guys got any of the same products in your April Play Boxes let me know and if not I’d love to know what you did get.

Until next time, enjoy your products and I can’t wait to see what I get next month :).

March Sephora Play Unboxing

Hi everyone,

Yesterday I received my March Play Box from Sephora and I thought that today would be the perfect day to go through it. The theme for this month is Beauty in Bloom. Now that it’s officially Spring, these products, a bouquet of beauty is what they’re calling it, are here to help you with your spring looks. The bag this month is similar to the previous months, plastic with a snap closure, see through red on the front with various beauty and lifestyle objects and Play! By Sephora in the middle. The back of the bag is white with ‘Your once-a-month, squeal-inducing bag of amazingness is here #SephoraPlay’ written in red.

MRSP1

The first product we have is the Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo. This is supposed to leave your hair feeling soft, refreshed and give you volume. I absolutely love Amika, so when I saw this I was excited. I use their dry conditioner and hair mask and it does wonders for my hair. If you’ve never checked them out, I would definitely recommend doing so.

MRSP5

The next product we have is the IT Cosmetics Confidence in a Cleanser Skin Transforming Hydrating Cleansing Serum. This is a one step cleanser that is supposed to not only remove all of your makeup, but hydrate your skin. I’ve never used any of the IT Cosmetics skincare, but I like them as a brand. I’m interested to try this and I’ll let you guys know what I think.

MRSP2

Moving on, we have the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation in Y245- Soft Sand. I’ve tried a couple of the Make Up For Ever foundations in the past and I like them. This one is a medium coverage, while being lightweight and buildable. And it’s supposed to leave you with a natural finish.

MRSP3

Next up we have the Sephora Collection LashCraft Big Volume Mascara in Noir. This is a mascara that I’ve talked about before and am currently using. I like the brush that you get with this, it’s big and curved so you really get all of your lashes. And it’s has Jojoba Seed oil so it really doesn’t clump or flake.

MRSP4

The second to last product is the Nars Bronzing Powder in Laguna. I’m a big fan of Nars and I actually haven’t used any of their bronzers. The first thing I did when I opened this was swatch it and it’s honestly so pretty. It’s got the perfect amount of shimmer and the glow when the light hits it was amazing. It also seems to be really buildable and I’m looking forward to incorporating this into my makeup routine.

MRSP8

MRSP7

MRSP6

And the last product we have, this month’s bonus, is the Maison Margiela Replica By The Fireplace fragrance. This smells so good, it’s woody and spicy but also a little vanillay and sweet. But not in an overpowering way, it’s very well balanced. It reminds me of sitting around the fire with friends roasting marshmallows. If you ever get the chance to smell it, I would definitely recommend doing so.

MRSP9

That about wraps it up for this post, if you guys got any of the same products in your March Play Boxes let me know and if not I’d love to know what you did get.

Until next time, enjoy your products and I can’t wait to see what I get next month :).

October Sephora Play unboxing

Hi everyone,

Happy Sunday! Today I’m going to be doing my October Sephora Play unboxing. Normally I would have done this days ago, but delays and mistakes at my local post office had me getting this in the mail yesterday, so I apologize for the delay. The theme for this month is Scary Good Beauty. Basically products that are fantastic all around. The bag is the same as last month, it’s plastic and closes in the snap and lock Ziploc fashion. The front is a clear red that has ‘Play! By Sephora’ written on the front with various beauty and lifestyle things surrounding it and the back is white and says ‘Open here to start your next beauty adventure #SephoraPlay’ written in red with an arrow pointing at the opening. I’ve been using the bag from last month to store extra Q-tips and little cotton pads in my bathroom and it’s been great.

The first product we have is the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser. This cleanser has amino acids, soy protein and cucumber extract and it’s supposed to remove makeup and basically wash the day away without drying out your skin. As a brand I like Fresh, so I’m interested to use this and see how it works for my skin.

Next we have the Caudalie Vinoperfect Radience Serum. This is supposed to brighten and even your skin tone all while being quick absorbing. I love Caudalie and I use quite a few of their products, so I’m excited to add this into my skincare routine.

The third product is the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Quench Hydrating Primer. This primer has marine plant and algae extracts along with hyaluronic acid that is supposed to help smooth and soften skin. I love the Rainforest of the Sea collection and I’ve been using primers more often so I’ll let you guys know what I think.

Moving on we have the Make Up For Ever Matte Velvet Skin 24 Hour Foundation in Y245. I really like Make Up For Ever and they make great foundations. This one says it’s full coverage, long lasting and helps to blur imperfections and control shine, so I’m excited to try this out.

Second to last we have the Benefit Gimme Brow+ Volumizing Eyebrow Gel in 01- Cool Light Blonde. I really like Benefit and I’ve used this in the past and really liked it. This one isn’t in my shade, it’s too light, but it reminded me how much I like this product.

And the last product we have, this months bonus product, is the Maison Margiela ‘Replica’ Sailing Day scent. This is a male and female fragrance. It’s very fresh, has red seaweed essence and smells like a sea fragrance, something you would wear in the summer or out boating. It’s not a scent that I would wear, but it smells really good.

That about wraps it up for this post, if you guys got any of the same products in your October Sephora Play boxes let me know and if not I’d love to know what you did get.

Until next time, enjoy your products and I can’t wait to see what I get next month :).
