Sephora Favorites Holiday Lip Kit Review

Hi everyone,

Since we’re in that weird time between Christmas and New Years and no one has any idea what day it is, I thought that this would be the perfect time for a new post. I have a fun one today, and we’re going to be going through the Sephora Favorites Holiday Lip Kit. Every year Sephora brings out a new version of this kit, and I think it’s great. I don’t always love them, but this one went on my wishlist as soon as it came out.

This kit has seven lip products that include lipstick, lip shine, glossy lip balm and lip plumper. Two of the seven are full size.

The first product we’re going to start with is the Rare Beauty Stay Vulnerable Glossy Lip Balm in Nearly Neutral. This is one is full size. This is what I would call medium brown, almost chocolate, in color. When I swatched it it didn’t seem to be overly sticky and even though it’s a glossy lip balm, it doesn’t seem to be too sheer. You definitely get some decent color payoff. I also really like the packaging on this. Most tubes of lip gloss are just that, round tubes that roll everywhere, but this one is flat on the back and I really like little details like that.

Next up we have the second full size product, the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillow Talk. You guys already know, this lipstick is iconic. The hold that it has on the beauty world is absolutely justified, it’s an incredible lipstick. Goes on smooth, lasts all day and the color is perfect. Plus, the packaging is just beautiful. Pillow Talk will forever be part of my makeup collection.

Moving on we have the Nars Afterglow Lip Shine in Orgasm. This is a high shine, hydrating lip gloss that claims it lasts for up to eight hours (which I can confirm, because I’ve already worn it). This is in the shade Orgasm, which is the iconic Nars shade name and color and in this application it’s a very pretty peachy pink with gold shimmer. I really like this, definitely recommend if you’re looking for a really good lip gloss for your collection.

The fourth product we have is the Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme Lip Plumper in Clear. This is also an iconic lip product, this plumper is the go to for a lot of people, including myself, and has been for ages. This has a high shine finish and is actually pretty hydrating.

Next up we have the Urban Decay Vice Hydrating Lipstick in Backtalk. This is a hydrating, long wearing lipstick in a very pretty mauve/nude pink shade. I’m wearing this today and I’m really liking it. It went on super smooth and it’s very pigmented. I definitely recommend if you haven’t given this lipstick a try. It’s also on sale right now at Sephora and they still have a few good shades left, including this one.

The second to last lipstick we have is the GVXE Anaheim Shine High Performance Satin Lipstick in Original Recipe. For anyone that doesn’t know, GVXE is Gwen Stefani’s makeup line. It made a lot of sense to me why this was in this kit when I saw the color because it’s a true red, and beauty wise, one of the things she’s known for is wearing a red lip. And I can honestly say, based on the swatch, that this is a really good red lipstick. It is high shine, which isn’t typically where I lean for a red, but the color is so nice that it’s piqued my interest and I’m excited to wear it.

And the last lip product we have is the Pat McGrath Labs MatteTrance Lipstick in Vendetta. This lipstick calls itself lightweight and richly pigmented with a modern matte finish. I haven’t worn this yet so I can’t comment on the weight of it, but just from the one swipe swatch I did, I can tell you it’s incredibly pigmented. It’s dark red in color and so pretty. It’s that kind of dark red that is starting to lean into berry but still maintains being red and I’m excited to try it out.

That about wraps it up for this post, I’m excited to wear all of these and I’ll let you guys know what I think when I do!

Until next time, I hope you’ve having a great holiday and I’ll see you in January :).

March 2022 BoxyCharm Unboxing

Hi everyone,

Yesterday I received my March BoxyCharm box and I thought today would be the perfect day to go through it. The theme for this month is Game Changer and it’s celebrating game changers and boss babes in honor of women’s history month and I think it’s a great theme. There’s a ton of incredible women in the beauty industry and it’s great that BoxyCharm chose to shine a light on them.

IMG_0915

The first product we have is the StyleDry Coconut & Fig Hair Mask. This has coconut oil and murumuru butter to deeply nourish and give you hydrated, healthy, glossy hair. Like a lot of hair masks, you gently work through your hair from root to tip and leave for 10 minutes then rinse. I love a good hair mask and this one smells really good, so I’m excited to try it out.

IMG_0919

Next up we have the Aceology Detoxifying Treatment Mask. This is a charcoal mask that draws out impurities and blackheads and clears clogged pores. Because charcoal has antibacterial and purification powers it’s not only one of the best detoxifying ingredients but it will protect your skin and leave a poreless and flawless texture. This is a peel off mask, so you apply, leave for 30 minutes then peel off. I really like the sound of this, so I’m interested to try it out.

IMG_0920

Moving on we have the Earth Harbor Naturals Nymph Nectar Superfruit Radiance Balm. This has sea fruits and tropical super berries along with Vitamins C, A, E and K, amino acids, omegas and other bio-actives to help achieve the best, bounciest and dewiest skin. This balm really ticks all the boxes, it’s plant based, holistic, vegan, cruelty free, sustainable, fair source, no gluten added, no soy added, small batch made, and to fit in with this month’s theme, woman owned. It has incredible reviews, so if you have dull/dehydrated skin, premature skin aging, environmental damage or loss of firmness this sounds like it will help immensely. You can use this as a moisturizer, a sleeping mask or a rescue repair treatment. It also says on the website it’s great for moisturizing lips and cuticles. This has so many good things going for it and honestly sounds incredible, so I’ll definitely be giving it a try.

IMG_0925

The second to last product we have is the Ofra Charm Your Cheeks Mini Mix Blush Palette. This is my Choice item for the month. This is a six pan blush palette made with Ofra’s liquid-to-baked technology and all of the shades are long wearing and incredibly pigmented. Like a lot of their palettes, this one is magnetic and refillable so if you hit pan you can easily pop in a new shade. I really like Ofra blushes, I think the formulation is great, so I was happy to see that this was a Choice option. This gives me very 80’s vibes with the pattern and I think it’s super fun.

IMG_0927

This doesn’t come with a mirror, but I don’t mind. I do like though that they carried the pattern onto the inside of the palette but changed the color from white to gray.

IMG_0928

Like I said, six pan palette in a variety of shades that would probably lend quite well to mixing if you wanted for even more versatility.

IMG_0929

I swatched these exactly how they appear. The first blush we have is Pink Satin, then there’s Mai Tai and the last shade of the row is Candy Apple. Starting off the bottom is Coral Crush, then there’s Fire Orange and the last blush we have is Rendezvous.

IMG_0932

And the last product we have is the Appeal Cosmetics Ultra Creme Liquid Lipstick in Muse (anyone else just think of “I was Josh Safdie’s muse when he wrote Uncut Gems” when they hear the word Muse now?). This is a luxurious creme lipstick in a satin finish with a rich color that lasts all day. I can’t tell exactly what shade this is, it looks to be a medium pink. I have quite a few liquid lipsticks in very similar colors already, so I didn’t swatch this and I’m going to give it to someone, but it is a pretty shade and I quite like Appeal Cosmetics. Everything of theirs that I’ve tried, I’ve liked.

IMG_0930

IMG_0931

That about wraps it up for this post, if you got any of the same products in your March box let me know and if not, I’d love to know what you did get.

Until next time, enjoy your products and I can’t wait to see what I get next month :).

Blogmas Day Eleven: BoxyCharm, A Year In Review

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day Eleven! Today I’m going to be doing a BoxyCharm Year In Review. I got a lot of great boxes this year and had a ton of favorite products, so I thought it would be good to put them all together and share what I really loved.

January:

The January box was a strong start to the year, and my favorite from this box was the Ace Beaute Bronzed In Paradise Palette. It didn’t feature in any of my recent looks posts, but I do like it and I do use it, it tends to fall to the back of my bronzer drawer, so I need to make a spot for it towards the front.

IMG_7176

IMG_7184

IMG_7185

February:

Ace Beaute made a really great impression in BoxyCharm this year, at least for me, and one of the things I loved in February was the Ace Beaute Nostalgia Palette. I use this all the time, I think it’s a super fun and versatile palette, in fact I talked about it in yesterday’s post. The other thing I loved in February was the Wander Beauty Double Date Lip & Cheek in Rendezvous/Swipe. I use Rendezvous solely as a lip product and I like it a lot. It’s a very pretty shade of pink.

March:

The March box had three items in it that I either loved already or have become staples in my makeup collection. The first of which is the Lime Crime Venus III Palette. This palette is super cute, it has some super pretty shadows in it and I love the versatility it affords. Then there’s the Too Faced Damn Girl Mascara which I’ve loved pretty much since it came out, it’s so good and always does my lashes good. The last product is one that I was initially unsure of because I don’t love rose in beauty and skincare products, but it’s turned into one of my favorites and it’s the Maven Beauty Rose Water Setting Spray. This locks in your makeup and you don’t feel sticky. Because of the rose water, it’s actually kinda refreshing.

IMG_7550

April:

In April I received the Flirtacious Looks Monarch Lash Pack and these lashes are SO good! It came with two pairs, Baby Girl, an angled lash and Charmer, a round lash. The second thing I loved from the April box is the Eloise Beauty Get Gleaming Body Glow Illuminator in Champagne Rich. I used this a lot during the summer and it gives a great glow but is also buildable so you can have your desired level of glow.

IMG_7919

IMG_7924

IMG_7927

May:

The May box saw me receiving two things that I have since repurchased and have talked about so many times since. The first is the Sophia + Mabelle Hydrating Hybrid Lipstick in Topless. This is a nude lipstick with the hydration of a balm and it’s so, so good. I honestly recommend, especially if you’re a nude lipstick fan. The second is the Murad City Skin Overnight Detox Moisturizer. I mentioned this in my Winter Skincare post and it’s an excellent moisturizer because it not only moisturizes, but it protects against blue light which is perfect for me because I do spend a bit of time on my computer. My skin definitely likes Murad.

IMG_8209

IMG_8206

June:

The June box had two things that very much screamed summer to me, a bright lipstick and glowy skin. The bright lipstick came in the form of the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Famous Red, which has become a go to of mine in my red lipstick collection. The glowy skin came from the Touch In Sol Pretty Filter Glowdient Palette, I talk about this all the time, you guys know how much I love it.

July:

In July I got a great mix of great makeup and skincare. The Ofra Mini Mix Palette in Good To Go is something I already loved, so when I saw it was a choice item for July I picked it and it turned out to be a great choice because I just hit pan on the bronzer and because these are magnetic pans, I can just swap out the new and old ones. The BellaPierre Cosmetics Liquid Eyeliner in Black has become something I reach for a lot in my eyeliner drawer and I like it a lot, you have a lot of flexibility so you can do the thin precise line or you can do a thick and dramatic wing. On the skincare side, this is when I got the Mudmasky Vitamin Infused Eye Serum, I also talked about this in my Winter Skincare post and I love it, I can see a difference since I started using it.

August:

The August box featured what as become a go to eyeshadow palette for me, the Dito Cosmetics Venus Palette. I used this palette a lot during college football season and when I did my gold eye look for yesterday’s post, this is what I used to do it. I’m also a space nerd, so that made this palette extra fun for me. My second August favorite is the Volition Hibiscus Unspottable Correcting Oil. I have a couple of dark spots on my face, and this has helped tremendously, it’s a great product. Definitely recommend it you’re looking to get rid of any dark spots.

IMG_9037

IMG_9033

September:

I’m gonna be honest, this was not my favorite box of the year. I did and do like the GlamGlow YouthMud Glow Stimulating Treatment. This is the OG GlamGlow product that made it what it is today and when you use it you can see why. Obviously the more you use it, the more results you see, but when in the 10 or so minutes you have it on, you can tell a difference. The exfoliating properties give you smooth, glowy and soft skin. The other thing I liked in this box is the Half Caked 813, Duo Fiber Brush. I use this for blush, and it gives you an airbrushed finish. It’s also super soft and I like the colors, I don’t have a lot of brushes in this color.

IMG_9285

IMG_9303

IMG_9314

October:

The October box was fantastic. I feel like as we got closer to the end of the year, the boxes got better and better. I’ve talked about this palette a number of times since getting it, but the October box gave me the Ace Beaute Falling For You Palette and I still love it so much. I used it yesterday and it’s still great, the color range, the mix of mattes and shimmer, the color payoff and the formulation are all top notch. This box gave me something I had never tried before, and that was the Appeal Cosmetics Adhesive Liner. I’ve worn this a few times and I do like it, I find it to be quicker and easier than messing around with lash glue, and we all know how much of a mess that can be. I also received a set of lashes that I love, they’re from Camara Aunique Beauty and they’re the Mary Lash. They do give you volume and that oomph that you want from a false lash, but it’s very natural. The last thing in this box that I love is the Tresluce Beauty Like An Artista 4 Piece Brush Set. I know that at the time I received this set the brand was fairly new, but for a new brand they seriously smashed it with the brushes. They’re all super soft, blend nicely and they’re nice to grip.

November:

In November I genuinely loved everything in the box, and I don’t know if that’s happened in the time I’ve been doing BoxyCharm. It started with the Ace Beaute Eyeshadow Amplifying Base in Light, I talk about this all the time, it makes your shadow last all day and it amplifies both mattes and shimmers without being too sticky and tacky. Then we have the Violet Voss Violet Sunset Palette. For being a smaller palette it has a lot of versatility and the colors are so, so pretty. I’ve been using this a lot recently. The Hanalei Beauty Company Matte Bronzer is one that has quickly made it’s way into the front of my bronzer drawer, I love that it’s on the lighter side so you can build it up as much as you want and you get that nice Hawaiian glow. The Luxie Pautips Por La Noche Brush Set was nice to see because I really like Luxie brushes and this came with a cute little pouch which is currently holding these brushes and all the random single brushes I had. The last product in this box is the Bodyography Makeup Brush Cleanser. I used this recently when I cleaned by brushes and having it in the spray bottle was so much quicker and easier and I feel like it didn’t take as much to clean them as it usually does.

December:

I won’t be revealing my thoughts and favorites from the December box in this post, but I will be doing so in my monthly favorites like I always do.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we had any of the same overall Boxy favorites let me know and if not, I’d love to know what you loved from BoxyCharm this year.

Until next time, enjoy your products, I can’t believe Blogmas is almost over and I can’t wait to see what I get next year in BoxyCharm :).

July Favorites

Hi everyone,

As it’s the end of the month, I thought it would be the perfect time do my July Favorites. This month was so busy for me and I feel like it flew by, but I did manage to put together a pretty good mix of favorites.

Starting with beauty, I have a couple of favorites from my July BoxyCharm box, and I’ll link that post below if you haven’t read it. My first Boxy favorite is the BellaPierre Cosmetics Liquid Eyeliner in Black. I’ve been using this quite a bit and I like it a lot. It has a tapered and flexible tip so you can easily do a really bold or a really thin line. It has great staying power, once it dries down it’s there all day and I definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a new liner.

IMG_8798

IMG_8799

My last Boxy favorite is the Mudmasky Vitamin-Infused Eye Serum. This is a Vitamin C serum for your under eye that nourishes, moisturizes, and firms the skin along with helping to reduce dark circles. I’ve been using this pretty much since I got it because I was intrigued by it and I’ve been seeing Mudmasky everywhere recently, and I can honestly say that I’m really liking it. I’m starting to be able to see a slight difference from before I started using it to now and that’s a very good thing. This is a product I would definitely recommend giving a try.

IMG_8803

And my last beauty favorite is the lip liner and lipstick combo I wore yesterday for National Lipstick Day. I looked back at some of my pictures from National Lipstick Day from the past couple years and found it funny that without realizing it, I’ve been doing very different colors every year. What I wanted to do yesterday, because I already had my eyeshadow look done when I realized and was going to do it anyway, it something in the nude/brown area. So what I went with is the Model Co Lip Enhancer Illusion Nude Lip Liner and the Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick in Bombshell. It’s one of my favorite combos for a nude/brown lip and I love the Huda liquid lipsticks, the formula is really nice and you get incredible pigmentation and color payoff.

IMG_8944

IMG_8945

Moving on to a more random favorite, there is a squirrel that’s been hanging around my backyard for a while, getting more and more bold as he does, and recently he’s been coming up on my deck and chilling, so I’ve started feeding him and I think it’s adorable. He’s a cute little guy and to his credit has only tried to come in house once. And the funny thing is multiple of my neighbors have had similar instances with squirrels over the years, so I’m not surprised this happened.

IMG_8950

And my last favorite is a music favorite, actually it’s a couple of songs. This month a lot of good songs came out that I’m enjoying. Little Mix and Anne-Marie’s song is a bop. Bonamassa’s new song is great, I hope that the rest of the album, assuming there will be an album, will follow along the same vibe because that would be nice to hear. And Eric Clapton has released a couple of songs from his 50th anniversary album and I’m liking them a lot. There’s a lot of songs on there that I either don’t know if I’ve listened to, haven’t heard in ages, or just really like and am enjoying like always. If you haven’t given any of these a listen, I definitely recommend doing so.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we had any of the same favorites let me know and if not, I’d love to know what your July favorites were.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope you had a great July :).

May Favorites

Hi everyone,

As it’s the end of the month I thought it would be the perfect time to do my May favorites. I have a decent mix this month, so let’s get into it.

Starting with Beauty, I have a couple of favorites from my May BoxyCharm box, and I’ll link that post below if you haven’t read it. My first Boxy favorite is the Murad City Skin Overnight Detox Moisturizer. This is a moisturizer that has supercharged antioxidants that neutralize pollutants and blue light, while strengthening your skin’s barrier while you sleep. I spent a lot of time on my computer and I have blue light glasses, so I like that this offers you that same thing for you skin. I’ve only used this a few times since I got it, but I do like it so far.

My last Boxy favorite is the Sophia + Mabelle Hydrating Hybrid in Topless. This is a combo lip balm and lipstick, it has the hydration of a balm with Vitamin E and the full coverage of a satin finish lipstick. This is a light nude/brown and I really like it. It wears pretty well throughout the day as well. This is definitely a product I would recommend if you like a good lipstick.

My last beauty favorite is the Malibu Barbie x ColourPop palette. I did a whole post on this palette and from my initial impressions with swatching to actually using it, I can tell you that it’s a great palette. I’m going to be doing a ‘Three Recent Looks’ with it soon. But for now what I will say is, if you’re a fan of Barbie and good makeup, pick up one of these because it’s a lot of fun to create with.

Moving on I have a food favorite and it’s not just any food, it’s ice cream. To be more specific it’s the Snickers Ice Cream Bars. I always like an ice cream bar and Snickers are one of my favorite candies. These bars are peanut butter ice cream with peanuts and caramel on top and coated in chocolate and they’re just so good.

And my last favorite is a music favorite in the form of the Take That Progress Live album. I’ve been going back and listening to some of my old favorite music recently and really remembering how great this album, and this tour were. It’s full of great songs, some great mashups between Take That and Robbie Williams songs and if you haven’t listened to the album or seen the tour DVD, I definitely recommend doing so.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we had any of the same favorites let me know and if not, I’d love to know what your May favorites were.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope you had a great May :).

May BoxyCharm Unboxing

Hi everyone,

Yesterday I received my May BoxyCharm box and I thought that today would be the perfect day to go through it. The theme for this month is Flourish, which goes perfectly with ‘April showers bring May flowers.’

The first item we have is the Beekman 1802 Dewy Eyed Illuminating & Depuffing Eye Serum. This has a mix of goat milk and botanical extracts that are supposed to combine for hydrating revitalization to illuminate eyes and help to fight the appearance of dark circles and puffiness. I’m a little put off by the idea of goat milk in an eye serum, and I’ve seen mixed reviews on this, so we’ll see. I also think that it’s a little bit overpriced for the 0.5 fl oz/15 ml that you get. I do like the packaging though, it comes in a little canvas bag and the serum is inside of it and I think that that very down home/farm feel very much fits in with the vibe of the brand.

The next item we have is the Ciate London Shadow Flip in Ember. This is a liquid eyeshadow that has a shade shifting, color flipping pigment and a multi-chrome effect. This one in particular is predominantly orange/pink with a green-ish shift. I really like the Ciate London liquid shadows, the formula is really nice, they dry down nicely and they’re super pigmented. I’m excited to try this out and see how it looks on the eyes.

Moving on we have the Skin Inc My Daily Dose Of Uplift Serum. This is a serum that has encapsulated Collagen, Coenzyme Q10 and Hyaluronic Acid for what they call an anti aging punch to give you firmer, smoother and younger looking skin. This is such a pretty serum, all the Skin Inc serums are that way, I like the bottle and the little encapsulated pearls give it a lava lamp look. I do love a good serum, so I’m excited to try this one.

The second to last item we have is the Murad City Skin Overnight Detox Moisturizer. This was my choice item for the month and it’s a moisturizer with a breakthrough formula that has supercharged antioxidants that neutralize pollutants and blue light, while strengthening your skin’s barrier while you sleep. This has an interesting way of dispensing the product, instead of just twisting off the top, there’s a circle you press on the top that has a hole in the middle and that’s where the product comes out. Murad makes the eye cream that I use, which is one of my favorites, so when I saw it I knew that I wanted to try it.

And the last item we have is the Sophia + Mabelle Hydrating Hybrid in Topless. This is a hybrid lipstick and lip balm in one. It has Vitamin E to keep your lips hydrated like a lip balm, but the full coverage of a satin finish lipstick. I really like the idea of this, and this one is a light nude/brown shade. It felt really creamy and went on smooth in the swatch, so it seems like it will be nice on the lips.

That about wraps it up for this post, I typically like a more makeup heavy box but this was a decent box. If you guys got any of the same items in your May BoxyCharm box let me know and if not, I’d love to know what you did get.

Until next time, enjoy your products and I can’t wait to see what I get in my June box :).

Five Pink/Red Looks of February

Hi everyone,

Today I have a fun post, that I really like doing. Last March I did a series of festive looks leading up to St. Patrick’s Day, and I thought it would be fun to do the same with Valentine’s Day. I had a lot of fun doing these, so I think this is a trend I’ll be continuing.

For the first look I wanted to do something simple, but still fun. The first thing I did was prime my face and for that I used the GlamGlow GlowStarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer in Nude Glow. Then I applied my Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless Foundation in 205, Ivory, my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 5, Ivory and set everything using the Ofra Pressed Banana Powder.

IMG_7422

For the rest of my face I first applied my Nars bronzer in Laguna, then I used the blush, Makeup & Be Merry, and highlighter, Angel Kisses, from the Too Faced Unbearably Glam Collection.

IMG_7423

IMG_7425

For my eyes, the first thing I did as prime my eyes using the Pretty Vulgar Uncaged Eyeshadow Primer. I then went into the Too Faced Unbearably Glam Palette and first put Boxes And Bows in the crease, then took a mixture of Christmas Dreams and Lords A Leapin’ all over my lid. I wanted to do a fun liner, so I sprayed an angled brush with setting spray and went into the ABH/Norvina Mini Vol 1 palette. I picked the first shadow in the second row because it’s really bright and fun. I topped off the eyes with the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. For my lips I first took the Sephora Collection Lip Liner To Go in 09, Fuchsia and filled my lips in lightly, then I put the Trestique Mini Lip Glaze in Paris Pink, on top. And I set the whole look with the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.

IMG_7424

IMG_7426

IMG_7292

For the second look I wanted to play with color and shimmer. The first thing I did was prime my face using the Touch In Sol Pretty Filter Glassy Skin Balm. I then applied my Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless Foundation in 205, Ivory, Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 5, Ivory and I set everything with the Ofra Pressed Banana Powder.

IMG_7427

For the rest of my face, the first thing I did was bronze using the Too Faced Extra Toasty bronzer, then I applied the Too Faced Daydreamer blush and the Maybelline Master Chrome highlighter in Molten Rose Gold

IMG_7428

IMG_7436

For my eyes, the first thing I did was prime, using the Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later Primer. I then went into the ABH/Norvina Mini Vol 1 Palette and took the lighter of the purples, first shadow third row, and put that lightly in the crease. I then took the darker purple next to it and packed that into the inner corner and outer corner of my lid, leaving space in the middle. For a little bit of shimmer, I took the pinky/gold shadow, middle of the second row, and packed the on the middle of my lid. I lined my eyes using the KVD Tattoo Liner in Trooper and topped off the eyes using the Too Faced Damn Girl Mascara. For my lips I applied the Trestique Mini Lip Glaze in Paris Pink. And I set the whole look using the Ciate London Everyday Vacay Coconut Setting Spray

KVD Vegan Beauty Legendary Icons Review

Hi everyone,

Happy 2021! For my first post of the year, I thought it would be fun to do a review of something I picked up during at Sephora after Christmas, the KVD Vegan Beauty Legendary Icons Set.

IMG_7042

This set comes with three items, two of which are full size and one is a mini.

IMG_7043

The first product we have is the Tattoo Liner Waterproof Liquid Liner in Trooper. This is one of my favorite eyeliners. It has a fine tip so you can get a precise line, but you can also get a thicker line if that’s what you’re looking for. This dries down quickly, stays in place and lasts all day.

IMG_7044

Next we have the Go Big Or Go Home Volumizing Mascara in Trooper. This is a long wearing, smudge resistant mascara that is supposed to give you extreme volume. This has a pretty decent wand on it that looks like it will coat all of your lashes. I’ve heard really good things about this mascara, so I’m excited to try it.

IMG_7045

And the last product in this set is a mini Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita. I really like the formulation of the Everlasting Liquid lipsticks. They’re light on the lips and don’t make your lips feel dry, they’re nicely pigmented and are long lasting. This shade in particular is a brown with pink undertones and the color range of these lipsticks is pretty big.

IMG_7046

IMG_7047

That about wraps it up for this post, if you have this set let me know which product is your favorite and if not I’d love to know what your favorite KVD product is.

Until next time, have fun creating different looks and you have never have too many makeup sets :).

December Favorites

Hi everyone,

As it’s the end of the month, I thought it would be the perfect time to do my December favorites. This month as been really busy, but I still managed to find a good group of favorites.

Starting with beauty, I have a couple of BoxyCharm favorites, I’ll link that post down below if you haven’t read it. My first Boxy favorite is the Tarte Maneater mascara. I was a little but unsure about this mascara when I opened it because it has a spiky plastic brush and those tend to not be my favorite, but I really like this one. It says that the wand is custom made and it has over 500 bristles to coat every lash, and I feel like it does. The formula is nice and buildable and I haven’t experienced any clumping or transferring. Definitely recommend giving this mascara a try if you want your lashes to stand out.

My next beauty favorite is the Ofra Cosmetics Pressed Banana Brightening Powder. This does have a light banana scent, reminds me of the banana flavored Laffy Taffy. I really like this powder, I use it to set my foundation/concealer and brighten the under eye area.

And my last beauty favorite is the MAC Matte Lipstick in 612, Russian Red. This is a super pigmented lipstick and it’s a nice deeper red, but it’s not too deep.

Moving on to more random things, I have a fashion favorite and it’s a pair of camo leggings. I was doing some last minute Christmas shopping online and I came across these leggings. I’m of the school of thought that you can never have too many pairs of leggings and I didn’t actually have any camo ones prior to this, so I had to pick these up. They’re super comfy and they fit great.

And my last couple of favorites are music favorites. The first is my new Epiphone Les Paul Acoustic-Electric Concert Ukulele. Since I tuned this I’ve been playing around with it and I’m loving it. Not only is it beautiful, but it sounds incredible. I can’t wait to get an amp so I can see what it sounds like electrically.

IMG_6923

My second music favorite is my 2020 Spotify Wrapped playlist. This has some of my favorites on it and I’ve been playing it quite a bit over the past couple weeks, it’s a great mix of music.

That about wraps it up for this post, I want to thank everyone for reading, following, commenting and everything else. It means a lot and I always appreciate it.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope you had a great December :).

Blogmas Day Six: December BoxyCharm Unboxing

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day Six! Before we get into it I want to say that because I didn’t post on Friday one day this week I will be double posting, so one day there will be two posts and once that happens we’ll be all caught up. So, for today’s post I’m going to be unboxing the December BoxyCharm box. The theme this month is Bubbles and Glitz, which is perfect for the end of the year.

IMG_6795

The first product we have is the Artist Couture Caliente palette. This is an eight pan palette with five mattes, two metallics and one multidimensional high pearl shade.

IMG_6803

For the size of this palette, it has a nice mirror and the pans are a good size.

IMG_6806

I normally use a palette before talking about it, but I used this yesterday and so far I do really like it. Of the shades that I used, I found that the mattes were really smooth and blended out nicely, along with being very pigmented, and the high pearl shade is not only gorgeous, but very shimmery.

IMG_6805

I swatched these as they appear in the palette. The first shade we have is Mangorita, a matte yellow shadow. Yellows can sometimes be hard to formulate, but this one wasn’t too patchy when I swatched it, so I’m interested to see how it will perform on the eye. Next to that is Vibras, a vibrant matte, red/orange. Then there’s Fuego, a matte, hot pink shade. And the last shadow in the row is Cultura, an orangey/gold metallic.

IMG_6820

The second row starts with Sensual, a super pigmented metallic orange. The color payoff you get from this is next level. Next to that is Mamacita, the pearl shade. This is a light peachy/orange, and it’s so, so pretty. The way it looks on the arm is how it looks on the eye like ten. It’s an incredible shadow. Then there’s Brillo, a matte magenta. It’s very similar to Fuego, but deeper and on the eye the two of them together are great. And the last shadow in the row is Rumba, a matte brown with orange undertones. This one didn’t swatch the best, but like the yellow shade, I’m interested to see how this performs on the eye.

IMG_6821

The next product we have is the Eloise Beauty Get Lit Metallic Foiled Liquid Eyeshadow in Pure Gold. This is a long wearing, metallic foiled shadow with a blend of metallic and glitter reflects. This looks pretty in the bottle, but when I swatched it I was seriously impressed, not only is it the perfect gold tone, but it’s perfectly shimmery. This would be the perfect shadow for a New Years Eve look. On the top of the box, inside it has a code so if you use code BOXYCHARM on the Eloise Beauty website you get 20% off everything.

IMG_6808

IMG_6817

Moving on we have the Tarte Maneater Mascara in Black. This has vitamin E, carnauba wax and jojoba, which are all great for lashes. This mascara is supposed to give you dramatic volume, length and curl without flaking or clumping.

IMG_6809

It has one of the spiky plastic brushes, but this one says it’s custom and has over 500 bristles to bring out every lash. I don’t typically like this style of brush as much, but I’m intrigued by this one and I’ve heard great things about this mascara so I’m excited to try it.

IMG_6810

The second to last product we have is the Ofra Cosmetics Pressed Banana Brightening and Setting Powder. This is a multi use powder that you can use to set foundation and concealer, matte eyeshadow, conceal under eye circles and highlight the under eye, brow bone, bridge of the nose, middle of the forehead and the chin.

IMG_6811

You get a nice sized mirror with this powder as well.

IMG_6812

As it’s banana powder, it does have a light banana scent and it reminds me of the banana Laffy Taffy.

IMG_6813

And the last product we have is a MAC matte lipstick in the shade 612, Russian Red. I did a red lipstick post the other day and I mentioned how no one does a red lipstick like MAC. This is a super pigmented, deeper red, but it’s not too deep. It’s really nice and I’m excited to add it to my collection.

IMG_6814

IMG_6815

IMG_6818

That about wraps it up for this post, if you got any of the same products in your December BoxyCharm box let me know and if not I’d love to know what you did get.

Until next time, enjoy your products and I can’t wait to see what I get in my January box :).
