Easter Decor

Hi everyone,

As Easter is this weekend and I’ve pretty much finished decorating, I thought it would be fun to show you guys my decorations. I basically revamped my decorations this year and a lot of it is new and I’m really pleased with how it turned out. And with that being said, let’s get into it.

The first thing we have is a couple of signs. This first one has a wood background and it says Hippity Hoppity Easter’s On Its Way in various colors and glitters. And it’s hanging on a piece of rope.

Next we have a felt baby chick with a green boarder that has little eggs in it. And it’s hanging on a green ribbon.

I really like this third one, it has three parts. The top says Happy in pink and it has a green background with a purple boarder. The middle says Easter in white with a purple background, polka dots and a pink boarder. The bottom is a green egg with pink, purple and white polka dots. And it’s hanging on a dark pink ribbon.

Next up is a wooden sign that is shaped like a wreath. The green when you get a good look at it is grass and it’s covered in eggs covered in various patterns and it says Happy Easter in the middle in purple and it’s hanging on a light pink ribbon.

The second to last sign is one of my favorites and it’s another stacked sign. One the top there’s a little bunny with a small egg and it says Happy Easter. And underneath is four eggs in various colors and patterns.

And this last sign is on my screen door facing out, hence the slight glare. It has a big bunny in the middle with flowers around it, Happy Easter on top, a really pretty blue background and a pink and yellow boarder.

Next up I have some lights. Around Christmas I bought extra boxes of multicolored lights so I could have them for any time of the year I wanted. I put up a couple strings of those in my dining room and in my living room. Then I accented with these specialty lights. The first string are carrots and the second string are eggs.

On my little drink cart I have this big plastic egg filled with smaller little glitter eggs. And I did just buy some Easter basket filling to add so it has more color and dimension.

And lastly I have these two bunnies that I’m going to stick in my garden. I bought purple and blue and I think they add the perfect little Easter touch without being too over the top.

The things that I still have to do are hang up two banners, I don’t know where they’re going yet, put on a festive tablecloth and I bought two packs of those gel window clings. I’ll probably put those on some mirrors instead of the windows though.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we have any of the same decorations let me know which ones and if not I’d love to know what your favorite decoration of yours is.

Until next time, have fun decorating and have a happy Easter :).

Blogmas Day Three: My Christmas Tree and Holiday Stories

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Day Three of Blogmas! Today I’m going to be showing you guys my Christmas tree and talking about some of my favorite Christmas stories to read as a child. And I’m going to start with my tree.

I’m really happy with my tree this year, I’m not entirely sure what it is, I think it’s a Noble or some variation of Noble. I went to a tree farm I’d never been to before but is really popular and I was impressed. It’s a huge area and they have beautiful trees. Already having my tree and having it decorated makes it feel so much more Christmassy and makes me even more excited for Christmas.

Moving on, we have some Christmas stories. When I was a kid these were stories that I loved to read or when I was really little have read to me and they just embody the holiday season to me. And now my mom has kept the tradition going by reading these stories to my niece and nephew. There are two version of The Night Before Christmas because I would keep one on my little bookshelf to read whenever I wanted and my mom would keep the hardback version. And besides The Night Before Christmas by Clement C. Moore, we have The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg, Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer by Robert L. May and Rudolph Shines Again by Robert L. May, which is the sequel to Rudolph.

That about wraps it up for this post, if you guys read any of these books/if any of these books are part of your Christmas traditions or if you read something different during the holidays I’d love to know.

Until next time, enjoy your books and have fun decorating your trees :).

Blogmas Day 3: Outdoor Christmas decorations

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day 3! Today I thought would be a good day to talk about and show you guys my outdoor decorations. I’m nowhere near done with my decorating in the house, but I always put up my outdoor lights the day after Thanksgiving. There are quite a few so it can be time consuming, but it’s so worth it when it’s done. So let’s get into it.

The first thing that goes up are the lights on the house, that takes the most time but it ends up looking amazing and I don’t use the LED lights. I use the clear incandescent lights, C9’s, I think they’re much prettier and a lot brighter.

Next we have the lights I use to line the steps going up to the front door. I can’t remember where either are from but they’ve lasted for quite a while.

The ones I use on the front of the steps are little trees, there are five in the string and they blink when they’re on but it’s not obnoxious blinking.

The others are penguins and those line the back of the steps. There are four in a string, which doesn’t seem like a lot but it works out.

I have a couple of big light up decorations and they are both from Costco. One I’ve had forever and the other is only a couple years old but these things will last forever if you let them.

The only unfortunate thing about Frosty is he lost an eye this year, I literally have no idea where it went. But I can replace it and the rest of him works.

I love this tree, it’s almost 5 feet tall and it kind of reminds me of a tree from The Grinch. The only downside is it’s caked in glitter that comes off if you so much as stand near it. But it is quite pretty and adds a lot to the overall look.

Moving on, we have one of my favorite features and that’s my front door.

The front door is something I only started putting lights around a few years ago and it’s made such a difference. It’s so much more warm and inviting now.

The second to last thing is a couple of things, window lights. There are a few more than this, but last night when I was taking pictures it was pouring rain and I didn’t get all of the pictures I wanted. So after I go out later and take the rest I’ll insert them so it’s complete. (Update, last two pictures have been added).

And lastly, I have a star. This is at the peak of my garage roof and it really ties everything together.

That about wraps it up for this post. Have you guys done your outdoor decorating yet? If so, which decoration is your favorite?

Until next time, have fun decorating and don’t fall off any ladders :).
