Blogmas Day 2: Christmas favorites, YouTube edition

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day 2! Today I wanted to talk about a favorite of mine and that’s Vlogmas, if I ever start a YouTube channel it’s definitely something that I would do, but until then there a few peoples that I really enjoy watching.  I will leave the links to all the channels I mention below.

So the first is Zoe Sugg, she does Vlogmas on her second channel MoreZoella. Zoe is one of the first people I subscribed to when I started watching YouTube and she is basically the queen of Christmas so I always look forward to seeing the content on her channel during December.

Next up is Joe Sugg, Zoe’s brother. Every year Joe does an attempt to do Vlogmas, but I think this year he might actually do it. In my opinion Joe is one of the funniest people on YouTube. The content on each of his channels and ideas he has are incredible and he never fails to make me laugh. The way he is with his friends reminds me of how some of my friend groups are and that makes me laugh even more. The Suggs are very relatable and down to earth and I think that’s why they have so much success and so many subscribers. They do it right.

Second to last we have Dan and Phil Games. They don’t do the traditional Vlogmas, they do Gamingmas on their gaming channel and it’s up there with one of the funniest things on the Internet. These days it’s hard to find someone who doesn’t watch or at least know who Dan and Phil are and it’s so easy to see why.

And lastly we have the SacconeJolys. They don’t do traditional Vlogmas either because they are daily volggers, but they are my favorite family to watch on YouTube. This year they are doing #SJXMAS which is a really cool idea. Basically you have the opportunity each day to win a prize by using the hashtag and tweeting the company or brand involved with that day.

That about wraps it up for this post, I watch these channels all year, along with many others, and besides the fact that I think they all do Christmas time really well they all make me laugh a lot and I think that’s so important. If you guys like watching any of these YouTubers during December let me know and if not let me know who you do like to watch.

Until next time, have fun watching YouTube and I hope you’re enjoying Blogmas :).

Father’s Day gift guide 2017

Hi everyone,

This week because Father’s Day is coming up I thought I would do a gift guide. I have always found it really easy to buy presents for my dad. But I know it’s not that way for a lot of people. And whether it’s that way for you or you’re just stuck for an idea this Father’s Day, I hope this post is helpful for you. I have a number of categories, and I will have a link down below to the things that I mention.

So the first thing is a Father’s Day classic and that’s anything in the area of grilling. I don’t think there’s a dad that doesn’t love to grill during a sunny summer weekend, or even during a rainy weekend. A set of grilling implements, an apron and anything like that is always a solid and probably safe bet. My dad is more into smoking than grilling right now, and most times when we have family get togethers he’s smoking some sort of meat and it’s delicious. If you’re going to go that route Masterbuillt is the best brand. Their products are top quality.

Next we have the personal care. I’ve always found that pretty much most men need and use a razor, so that’s always a good present. Along that same vein, cologne, lotions and products like that are good.

Pretty much one thing that never misses, doesn’t matter the event is gift cards. Everyone loves them and it takes the stress away of having to buy the perfect present.

One thing that pretty much everyone uses is some sort of streaming service. Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, etc. Subscriptions to services like that are like gift cards. They have something for everyone.

Next up is a dad classic, tools. There is always a need for tools, in every household. Screw drivers, saws, drills. All always needed.

One of my favorite things to do with my dad is watch sports and talk (occasionally argue) about it. I, like my dad, am a huge Mariners and Seahawks fan so anytime either of us see anything Seahawks or Mariners related that the other would like we buy it. So if your dad is a sports fan any kind of jersey or knick knack type thing will be a hit. Especially if you can find anything signed by his favorite player or players.

I have two things left on my list and the second to last is anything related to technology. I know that technology isn’t everyone’s forte, but for the technology lover, Bluetooth speakers, drones, you can’t go wrong. I personally really want a drone, but haven’t bought one yet. Maybe I’ll buy one for my dad and “borrow it”.

And lastly, anything personalized is always a hit on Father’s Day. Cups, plaques, anything you can think of you can personalize. I’ve found that a personalized gift usually draws a couple of tears. And is always appreciated.

That about wraps it up for this post. Like I mentioned at the beginning of this, hopefully this post is helpful to you guys and you find something that your dad will love.

Until next time, I hope you find something and have a Happy Father’s Day :).

February favorites

Hi everyone,

As today is the first of March, I figured it was time to do my February favorites. I don’t have a ton of different favorites this month, but I think there is a good mix. Starting with beauty, we have, from NYX a lipstick. It’s a NYX Butter Lipstick in the shade Ripe Berry. This is from my February Glam Bag and if you haven’t read that post, I’ll link it below. When I unboxed this lipstick I was excited to wear it and when I put it on it was instant love. It looked different on my lips than it had when I tested it on my hand and in a it was way better. It’s about as dark as I’ve gone with berry toned lipsticks but it’s pretty much perfect. I would definitely recommend it.

My next favorite is an eye shadow. This is a cream pigment from Hikari Cosmetics in the shade Latte. I’m so in love with this shadow. It’s honestly so pretty, the color payoff is great and it blends really well. I will definitely be doing more looks with this shadow.

And my last beauty favorite is a nail polish by Trust Fund Beauty in the shade I Give Good Tweet. It’s in a periwinkle shade, which isn’t a color I already have in my polish collection, so I was excited it try it. I loved this shade in the bottle, and when I put it on it was just as pretty. The formulation is great and it had good staying power. I usually keep a manicure for about a week or so and it stayed looking good for that time. That’s one nail polish I know I will be going back to come spring and summer.

Moving on, my next two favorites are songs. The first is Bell Bottom Blues by Eric Clapton. This is one of those classic Clapton songs, but it had been forever and a day since I’d heard it, so when I put my phone on shuffle and it played it reminded me of how much I loved it. Besides the original Derek and The Dominos, my favorite version of the song is live from the One More Car One More Rider concert Eric did in 2001, but I know it’s a song he’s played since.

My last song favorite is also by Eric Clapton and it’s Lovin’ You Lovin’ Me. This is an old song of his, it’s from his 1970 self titled album and I’m not entirely sure if it’s on any others. I heard this song on one of my Pandora stations and there’s just something about it that made me smile. I knew that I had heard it before, ages and ages ago, but it was nice to hear it again. And if you haven’t heard either of these songs definitely look them up on YouTube.

And speaking of YouTube, my last favorite is a YouTube channel. You guys know that I love the US Navy Blue Angels, I did a post about them last summer, which I will link below. And right now they are doing their winter training in El Centro, California. I really like to watch videos of them practicing and seeing how, if at all they have changed some of the maneuvers. And really seeing how the team is after getting some new additions in the off season. There are a few channels on YouTube where people post this type of video, but my favorite is MKBLUES1. My brother actually told me about their channel and I’m glad he did. I think besides the camera work and how well edited their videos are they have what I’m assuming is a radio scanner and know what frequencies the Blues talk on so you can hear Boss talking and calling out maneuvers, the diamond pilots responding and the solos doing their thing. When I was a kid my brother had a scanner of his own and he knew the channels they talked on, so during Seafair he would turn it on so we could hear the pilots as we were seeing them and people would always come over to us and listen. It was quite fun. So I definitely recommend their channel if you are in to things like that.

That about wraps it up for this post. If you guys have any of the same favorites as me let me know and if not let me know what your favorites were for February.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope you had a great February :).
