2023 Sephora Birthday Gift Review

Hi everyone,

It’s that time again, today I have for you a review of the 2023 Sephora Birthday Gift and not only that, but all of the options that you can choose from this year when your birthday comes around.

So, starting with what I got, I had a more difficult time picking this year, because I liked pretty much everything, but what I selected is the Ouai “The Ouai of Life” Set.

Packaging wise, it has the classic Sephora black polka dots, and on the front is has a gold ribbon, to give it the birthday feel.

On the top of the box it says ‘Happy Birthday’ in light pink. Under that it says ‘Joyeux Anniversaire’ which is Happy Birthday in French and below that it says, ‘Turn It All The Ouai Up!’

So, getting into it. This is a four piece set, which is the most out of all the sets and this set, unless I say otherwise, is available for all Sephora Beauty Insiders. It comes with a detox shampoo, a leave in conditioner, a body cleanser and a perfume.

First up, we have the Leave In Conditioner. This calls itself a multitasking product that will work all day to detangle, soften and smooth your hair. All while protecting against heat/other damage and reducing frizz and flyaways.

Next up we have the Detox Shampoo. This shampoo is made with apple cider vinegar and thus concentrated. It’s supposed to deeply cleanse away oil, dirt and any product buildup. It also has keratin, so while it’s detoxing, it’s helping to strengthen your hair.

The second to last product we have is the St. Bart’s Body Cleanser. This cleanser is exclusive to Sephora. It’s infused with the St. Bart’s scent, so it has notes of dragon fruit, orange blossom, tuberose and Baltic amber. It’s not the typical scent I would go for in a cleanser, but it smells pretty good and definitely has vacation vibes, which is great right now in the middle of winter.

And the last product we have is the Melrose Place Eau de parfum. This describes itself as a velvety rich rose fragrance with notes of bergamot, lychee, cedar wood and white musk. I really struggle with rose sometimes, it either has the perfect balance or it’s just so overpowering, so I was nervous to spray this. However, all of the other scents balance it so well, that it’s not overly rose, in fact it reminds me of another perfume, but it’s definitely a scent I would and will wear.

So, there are four other options you can have that are open to all Sephora Beauty Insiders. The first is the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Skincare Set. With this set you get the Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops. This is a multiuse highlighting serum that visibly reduces the look of hyperpigmentation and hydrates the skin for a reflective, dewy glow. You also get the Watermelon Glow Pore Tight Toner. This is a gentle PHA and BHA infused watermelon toner that minimizes the appearance of pores and hydrates the skin.

Next we have the ILIA Makeup Set. For those that don’t know, ILIA are a clean brand, and I know a lot of people look for that in a makeup brand. This set includes the Limitless Lash Mascara in After Midnight. This mascara is supposed to lift, lengthen, curl and separate lashes without smudging or flaking. You also get the Multi-Stick in At Last which is a mauve rose color. The multi-stick is for cheeks and lips and gives you a buildable wash of color.

Next, you can select 250 Bonus Points. This is a great option for those who like to spend their points on the regular or are saving them up for a specific product because it adds an additional 250 points to your Beauty Insider account.

And the last of the available to all, is the Dior Fragrance Set. This one is a bit tricky though. It pretty much sold out the day it was released, so it is now an In Store Only option. But, from my understanding not all stores had it, that may have changed, but the best thing to do, if you really want it, is to call your Sephora store or the ones in your area if there are multiple, and ask them if they have it. But, this set comes with two fragrances, the Miss Dior eau de parfum, which they say describe as a colorful floral bouquet. It celebrates the sensuality of the centifolia rose, is heightened by fresh lily of the valley along with spicy peony and is enveloped by powdery iris. The second fragrance is Sauvage eau de parfum, which is described as a captivating blend of Calabrian bergamot, nutmeg and vanilla absolute.

The last Birthday Gift option we have is for VIB and Rouge members only, and it’s the Farmacy Clean Skincare Set. This set includes the Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm, a face cleanser that gets rid of even the most stubborn makeup, SPF, oil and dirt while leaving your skin hydrated with no residue. The Honey Halo Ultra-Hydrating Ceramide Moisturizer, an intense moisturizer that replenishes distressed, dry skin with lasting hydration while visibly plumping and improving the look of fine lines. And the last thing you get is the Honey Potion Plus Ceramide Hydration Mask. A warming honey mask that intensely hydrates, nourishes and strengthens the skin’s moisture barrier. This is the upgraded formula, so it contains ceramides, upcycled apples and cica.

That about wraps it up for this post, there are a lot of great options this year, and I’m really happy with what I chose.

Until next time, have fun choosing, and I’d love to know what you go for :).

March 2022 Favorites

Hi everyone,

As it’s the end of the month, I thought it would be the perfect time to do my monthly favorites. I haven’t done one yet this year, so I have quite a bit to talk. Let’s get into it.

Starting with beauty, I have some favorites from both my February and March BoxyCharm boxes. My first Boxy favorites are from February, and they’re both things I’ve mentioned recently in Three Recent Looks posts. The first is the Wander Beauty Wanderess Escape Palette. This is a universal palette that has a range of colors and finishes and I think is a great option if you’re wanting something that is, universal or you’re someone who is starting their makeup collection. The pigmentation is high, the formula is great and this is definitely a palette I recommend.

My second February Boxy favorite is the Ace Beaute Glow Essentials Highlighter Palette. This is a six pan highlight palette with a range of shades. I’ve really been liking this a lot, all of these are really nicely pigmented and where you just swipe them on or you buff them out, you get a really nice glow. You guys know how much I like Ace Beaute and I think they really nailed it with this one. Plus the packaging is adorable.

Moving to my March Boxy favorites, we’re going to start with the StyleDry Coconut & Fig Hair Mask. This has coconut oil and murumuru butter which deeply nourishes to give you hydrated, healthy and glossy hair. I’ve used this once since I got it and I really like it. It smells incredible and it really did make my hair soft and glossy. I love a good hair mask and this is definitely a good one.

My next Boxy favorite is the Earth Harbor Naturals Nymph Nectar Superfruit Radiance Balm. This balm has sea fruits and tropical super berries along with Vitamins C, A, E and K, amino acids, omegas and other bio-actives to help you achieve the best, bounciest and dewiest skin. I’ve been using this since I got it and I use it specifically after I shower. If I’ve taken a morning shower then I do a light layer like a moisturizer and if I take a night shower I put on a thicker layer and use it like an overnight mask and wash it off in the morning. I’m really liking it and I can see a difference in my skin already. This had really great reviews and I can see why, I definitely recommend it.

My second to last beauty favorite and last Boxy favorite, is the Ofra Charm Your Cheeks Mini Mix Blush Palette. This is a six pan palette with a range of colors and made with Ofra’s liquid-to-baked technology. I really like the Ofra blushes I’ve tried, and am currently using, so I knew this palette was going to be good. The formulation is great, they’re all super pigmented and they mix super well together so you can great any blend you want. Plus this palette is magnetic, so you can easily pop out the pans and replace them.

And my last beauty favorite is the makeup I did for St. Patrick’s Day. I like to do something fun every year for it, I am Irish, so that makes me want to do a little more for it and you guys know I love a festive makeup look. Overall I’m super happy with how it came out.

4C8C78FE-153C-4C6B-AE8B-B09B82ABA4FB

Moving on, I have a food/candy favorite and it’s Life Saver’s Gummies. I really don’t eat candy that often, but when I do I really like these. They’ve been a favorite of mine for a long time and I always go back to them. I think the original are my ultimate favorite, but they have a berry one that’s good too.

And my last favorite, isn’t a music favorite, but a podcast. My podcast in fact. If you guys didn’t know, I do have a podcast, The Unlikely Duo Podcast on Twitch. We recently went through a rebrand and I’m so happy with it now. Myself and my cohost are doing motorsports commentary on the Monday’s after race weekends, you guys may or may not know that I’m a motorsports journalist, and the fact that I can bring that into this project is really fun and something I’m enjoying a lot. So if you’re an avid Twitch viewer or just want a great podcast to watch/listen to, give us a follow. I just put up some merch in our merch store as well, so we have some fun drinkware options to choose from.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we had any of the same favorites this month let me know, and if not I’d love to know what your favorites were.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope you had a great March :).

March 2022 BoxyCharm Unboxing

Hi everyone,

Yesterday I received my March BoxyCharm box and I thought today would be the perfect day to go through it. The theme for this month is Game Changer and it’s celebrating game changers and boss babes in honor of women’s history month and I think it’s a great theme. There’s a ton of incredible women in the beauty industry and it’s great that BoxyCharm chose to shine a light on them.

IMG_0915

The first product we have is the StyleDry Coconut & Fig Hair Mask. This has coconut oil and murumuru butter to deeply nourish and give you hydrated, healthy, glossy hair. Like a lot of hair masks, you gently work through your hair from root to tip and leave for 10 minutes then rinse. I love a good hair mask and this one smells really good, so I’m excited to try it out.

IMG_0919

Next up we have the Aceology Detoxifying Treatment Mask. This is a charcoal mask that draws out impurities and blackheads and clears clogged pores. Because charcoal has antibacterial and purification powers it’s not only one of the best detoxifying ingredients but it will protect your skin and leave a poreless and flawless texture. This is a peel off mask, so you apply, leave for 30 minutes then peel off. I really like the sound of this, so I’m interested to try it out.

IMG_0920

Moving on we have the Earth Harbor Naturals Nymph Nectar Superfruit Radiance Balm. This has sea fruits and tropical super berries along with Vitamins C, A, E and K, amino acids, omegas and other bio-actives to help achieve the best, bounciest and dewiest skin. This balm really ticks all the boxes, it’s plant based, holistic, vegan, cruelty free, sustainable, fair source, no gluten added, no soy added, small batch made, and to fit in with this month’s theme, woman owned. It has incredible reviews, so if you have dull/dehydrated skin, premature skin aging, environmental damage or loss of firmness this sounds like it will help immensely. You can use this as a moisturizer, a sleeping mask or a rescue repair treatment. It also says on the website it’s great for moisturizing lips and cuticles. This has so many good things going for it and honestly sounds incredible, so I’ll definitely be giving it a try.

IMG_0925

The second to last product we have is the Ofra Charm Your Cheeks Mini Mix Blush Palette. This is my Choice item for the month. This is a six pan blush palette made with Ofra’s liquid-to-baked technology and all of the shades are long wearing and incredibly pigmented. Like a lot of their palettes, this one is magnetic and refillable so if you hit pan you can easily pop in a new shade. I really like Ofra blushes, I think the formulation is great, so I was happy to see that this was a Choice option. This gives me very 80’s vibes with the pattern and I think it’s super fun.

IMG_0927

This doesn’t come with a mirror, but I don’t mind. I do like though that they carried the pattern onto the inside of the palette but changed the color from white to gray.

IMG_0928

Like I said, six pan palette in a variety of shades that would probably lend quite well to mixing if you wanted for even more versatility.

IMG_0929

I swatched these exactly how they appear. The first blush we have is Pink Satin, then there’s Mai Tai and the last shade of the row is Candy Apple. Starting off the bottom is Coral Crush, then there’s Fire Orange and the last blush we have is Rendezvous.

IMG_0932

And the last product we have is the Appeal Cosmetics Ultra Creme Liquid Lipstick in Muse (anyone else just think of “I was Josh Safdie’s muse when he wrote Uncut Gems” when they hear the word Muse now?). This is a luxurious creme lipstick in a satin finish with a rich color that lasts all day. I can’t tell exactly what shade this is, it looks to be a medium pink. I have quite a few liquid lipsticks in very similar colors already, so I didn’t swatch this and I’m going to give it to someone, but it is a pretty shade and I quite like Appeal Cosmetics. Everything of theirs that I’ve tried, I’ve liked.

IMG_0930

IMG_0931

That about wraps it up for this post, if you got any of the same products in your March box let me know and if not, I’d love to know what you did get.

Until next time, enjoy your products and I can’t wait to see what I get next month :).

Limited Edition Halloween Walmart Beauty Box Unboxing

Hi everyone,

Today I have a different unboxing, a Halloween beauty box. I haven’t done a holiday beauty box unboxing before so when I saw this I knew I had to buy it. This box comes from Walmart Beauty and you may or may not know that after the spring Walmart Beauty Box they decided to take off the summer to revamp the box. So I guess this is the intro to that relaunch, although I did get an email a few days ago saying that this week I’m going to charged for the fall box, so the fall boxes are coming. This box in particular cost me $10.00, which is double the price of the normal WBB, and came with a little pamphlet that gave a description of each of the items. I got to choose between two, both had the same base items but one came with an eyeliner and the other with a lipstick. I chose the eyeliner option because I knew I would get more use out of it and I haven’t worn a drugstore eyeliner in years so I wanted to try one out.

The box itself is all white with a white Walmart logo on the top and it’s white on the inside as well. Because this is the Halloween box I was hoping for a pop of orange, black or purple or even some festive tissue paper.

IMG_6479

IMG_6480 (1)

The first item we have in this box is the Splat Hair Chalk in Midnight Blue. This is basically hair dye but not, you take pieces of hair, lightly spray with hair spray, open the color compact, close it around the hair and slide it down your hair. Depending on how dark you want the color to be you can go over the already colored pieces of hair. And to set it just spray more hair spray. I haven’t used anything like this since I was a kid, but it’s a quick and easy way to get color into your hair, the Splat Hair Chalks come in a variety of colors, and once you’re over the color it washes out easily.

IMG_6481

The next item we have is a Neutrogena Makeup Remover Towelette. This is a single, but you can get this individually wrapped towelettes in a bag of 20. I always keep these on hand, the fact that they’re individually wrapped makes it easy to keep in your handbag, which I do, and I also really like these for taking off swatches because they get all the makeup off.

IMG_6483

Moving on we have a Revlon ColorStay 16 Hour Eyeshadow quad. This is the product that confused me when I saw it. On the website and in the pamphlet it shows a purple quad, to me it looks like 510, Precocious, but what I actually received was 500, Addictive, a neutral/brown quad. If this is a Halloween box the purple makes perfect sense, but I’m not sure how you would get the same effect with neutrals/browns. I also haven’t worn Revlon eyeshadow since I was in junior high, so I couldn’t tell you now how these shadows are going to perform. Normally I would do some swatches, but I’m going to give this to someone and I want it to be fresh for them.

IMG_6484

Next up we have the Hard Candy Stroke of Gorgeous Liquid Eyeliner in 1807, Black To Basic. This is a matte eyeliner that says it’s easy to apply, mess free and dries down quickly. I’ve only tried Hard Candy lipsticks and nail polishes, so I’m interested to try this out and see how it performs. This has a nice tip on it and it seems like you could easily do thick or thin liner. I saw that this liner comes in different colors, so if I like it I might look into the other shades.

IMG_6488

IMG_6489

Moving on we have the Milani Strobelight Liquid Highlighter in 06, 24K Gold. When they say gold, they mean gold. I do like liquid highlighters and when I saw this I was interested because I haven’t tried one from Milani. I think for me this might be a little too gold, but the formula seems nice and when the light hits it it is quite pretty.

IMG_6491

IMG_6492

IMG_6500

The second to last item we have is the NYX Shout Loud Satin Lipstick in Red Haute. I’ve heard great things about the NYX Satin Lipsticks and based on the swatch I can see why. This is a really pretty shade of red and seems to be nicely pigmented. It claims to deliver up to four hours of hydration in one swipe, which I’ll be looking for when I wear it. All of the Shout Out Loud satins are infused with mango and shea butter and have a heart stamped into them which I think is adorable.

IMG_6493

IMG_6494

IMG_6495

IMG_6501

And the last item we have is a Sinful Colors nail polish. This is the second thing that I saw that confused me. On the website and in the pamphlet it shows what looks to be a deeper sparkly red polish, maybe Sugar Sugar, and that’s one of the things that drew me in. But the polish I got was 852, Gogo Girl. I do like this polish, in fact I own this polish and it’s on my nails right now. It’s a nice shade of red and like the other Sinful Colors polishes it wears well.

IMG_6499

IMG_6497

That about wraps it up for this post, overall I think it was alright. I was disappointed by a few things, but I’m really interested to see what the revamped seasonal boxes look like.

Until next time, enjoy your products and have fun creating Halloween looks :).

Spring 2020 Walmart Beauty Box Review

Hi everyone,

Today I’m back with another unboxing, this time of the Spring 2020 Walmart Beauty Box. I always say that the Walmart Beauty Box is a little off with their timing and this box is no different. I got this on Friday so one day before the official start of summer. The theme for this month is Spring Beauty Sensations. The box itself is white with the Walmart logo in the center and that is made of lipstick swatches in various pinks and reds. Sometimes they will make the inside of the box a different color to more match the season, but this time it’s plain white inside.

IMG_5705

IMG_5706

So the first thing we have is the Suave Curl Defining Cream For Naturally Curly and Coily Hair. This is part of the Suave Professionals for Natural Hair collection. It has natural shea butter and pure coconut oil along with no parabens, dyes and is color safe. This is supposed to add shine, moisture and help bring your curls back to life while enhancing your natural curl pattern.

IMG_5707

The second product we have is the Biore Rose Quartz + Charcoal Daily Purifying Cleanser. This says that the charcoal deep cleans and the rose quartz radiates self love. Biore as far as I know is a well liked drugstore skincare brand and based on the research I did, people seem to really like this cleanser and how it made their skin feel.

IMG_5711

Moving on we have one of two things from the brand Hello. This is a charcoal infused, tapered bristle toothbrush, with bristles made from bamboo, that is natural and bpa free. I know a lot of people like the charcoal toothpastes and such, but personally I’m not the biggest fan. I think this is a cool idea though.

IMG_5709

The second item from Hello is an antiplaque + whitening, fluoride free, natural peppermint with tea tree and coconut oil toothpaste. I’m 50/50 about natural toothpastes and I have a whitening toothpaste that I really like, but I’ll give this one a try and see what I think.

IMG_5712

The second to last product we have is Natural Vitality Calm in Raspberry-Lemon. This is a magnesium supplement that you stir into cold or warm water and drink. It’s supposed to help balance your calcium intake and promote healthy magnesium levels along with helping you feel more relaxed and less stressed. I take my vitamins and things like that but I’m not really into things like this on this level. My mom is though, so I’ll give this to her and see if she likes it.

IMG_5708

And the last product we have is the Salon Perfect Design Nail Set. This is a set of fake nails with a grey marble and gold stripe pattern and an almond shape. In this kit you get 24 nails, a nail file and professional nail glue. I haven’t worn glue on fake nails in many years and I don’t typically pick this shape, but these are pretty cute and something I could have fun with.

IMG_5710

Overall I feel like this is one of the worst Walmart Beauty Boxes I’ve received, it almost feels like they forgot they had to do a box. There’s nothing in here that feels super springy and I feel like there was a few cases where they definitely didn’t look at my profile preferences. Hopefully the summer box will be better. If any of you guys are subscribed to the Walmart Beauty Box, I’m interested to know what you thought of your spring box.

Until next time, enjoy your products and I can’t wait to see what’s in the summer box :).

May 2020 BoxyCharm Unboxing

Hi everyone,

The other day I received my May BoxyCharm Box and I thought today would be the perfect day to go through it. From what I understand there’s typically supposed to be a little card that says a theme and has prices for all the products, but I didn’t get one in this box so I don’t know what the theme is for this month.

IMG_5545

IMG_5532

So the first product we have is the Daily Concepts Shampoo Bar. This has aloe, which helps to moisturize and balance along with soothing hair and scalp. Nopal Cactus, which helps to protect and nourish hair. And avocado oil to help with natural shine and elasticity. I could smell this through the box and it has that very natural, health food store smell. I’m pretty selective with what I put on my hair, but I’m interested by this.

IMG_5549

IMG_5550

The next product we have is the Ayam BeautyCare Dead Sea Minerals + Vitamin C Serum Makeup Remover Wipes. These are cruelty free with no artificial dyes, no parabens and no phthalates. These say that they remove everything, kiss proof, long lasting, waterproof, etc and leave the skin brightened and moisturized. I don’t use makeup wipes a lot on my face, I typically use them for removing swatches, and that’s the test that I did on these. They did get all the makeup off my arm and they smell really good. This is not an ad or a sponsored post, but Ayam BeautyCare reached out to me on Instagram and gave me a discount code. So if you go to their website and use BOXYFAM you’ll get 30% off your order.

IMG_5552

IMG_5553

Moving on we have the GlamGlow BerryGlow Probiotic Recovery Mask. This mask has a bunch of incredible things in it. Jojoba Oil, hyaluronic acid and shea butter for hydrating and protecting your skin’s moisture barrier. A blend of blueberry, cranberry and goji berry extracts along with vitamins to nurture the skin. And Lactobacillus ferment probiotic to support and help balance your skin’s microbiome. I really like GlamGlow masks and this one smells really good, so I’m excited to try it out.

IMG_5546

IMG_5547

IMG_5548

The second to last product we have is the Pretty Vulgar Uncaged Eyeshadow Primer. This primer is infused with mineral rich clay to absorb any excess oil and has a fade proof, crease proof translucent finish that will make your eyeshadow more long wearing and vibrant. I’m always interested in a good eyeshadow primer and I have yet to try out anything from Pretty Vulgar, so I’ll let you guys know what I think.

IMG_5551

And the last product we have is the Studio Makeup Ease-To-Wear Eyeshadow Palette. This is a 9 pan, neutral palette with a mix of mattes and shimmers. This palette is similar to and reminds me of the Urban Decay Naked Reloaded Palette in tone and color story. I wouldn’t call it a dupe, but I think it would be a good alternative. The UD Naked Reloaded is 12 pans and $44.00 and this one is 9 pans and $35.00. I did swatch this on my arm and at first the mattes were a little powdery, but they definitely seem workable and I think the shimmery shades are nicely pigmented. The first fives shadows we have are Sheen, which is a light almost champagney color. Then we have Flaxen, a medium brown shimmer, next to that is Bare, a light almost gray/brown matte. Gilded is next and that is a light shimmery brown and Wicked, a dark chocolatey brown shimmer.

IMG_5556

The next four starts with Lace, a matte really light almost nudey brown. Then we have Dusk which is a very pretty pink that falls between light and medium and has just a bit of shine. Next to that is Blush and that is a light matte mauve and the last shadow is Fate, a very deep matte chocolate brown.

IMG_5557

That about wraps it up for this post, if you got any of the same products in your May BoxyCharm Box let me know and if not I’d love to know what you did get.

Until next time, enjoy your products and I can’t wait to see what I get in my June BoxyCharm box :).

April 2020 Sephora Play Unboxing

Hi everyone,

Today I’m going to be unboxing my April Play Box from Sephora, but this isn’t a regular Play Box, this is actually the last one. Sephora has decided to end Play and they’re going to be rolling out something different coming soon. The theme for this month is Best-For-Last Beauty, which are some favorites products from the Play team. The bag itself is plastic with a snap and lock closure, the front is a see through red with various beauty and lifestyle products and ‘Play! By Sephora’ in the middle. The back is white with ‘Thank you for PLAY!ing’ with two hearts, written in red. I also received a thank you note for being a long time subscriber and it let me know that there is an extra product in the bag and a set of ten beauty and Play themed stickers.

IMG_5430

IMG_5426

So the first product we have is the Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real! Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara in Black. This is supposed to have a super creamy formula that gives length and buildable volume for up to 24 hours. I’m wearing this mascara today and so far I really like it. The formula is actually really creamy and it went on without any clumping and there’s no transfer. I quite like the brush, it’s nice and big with the plasticy bristles and it has a spikey bit on the end that makes sure you can get all your lashes.

IMG_5431

IMG_5432

The next product we have is the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray. This is a holy grail product for me and my absolute go to for setting sprays. It’s light, dries down quickly and once it has dried then your makeup is locked in. The box says for up to 16 hours and it delivers.

IMG_5433

Moving on we have the Belif Moisturizing Eye Bomb. This is one of my favorite eye creams, I pretty much swear by it. It’s super lightweight and sinks in quickly along with helping with the elasticity of the skin. It has tiger grass which soothes and comfrey leaf which detoxifies. This is a product I always recommend.

IMG_5434

Next we have the Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins Mega-Mushroom Relief & Resilience Soothing Treatment Lotion. This is a lightweight mushroom infused lotion that is supposed to calm your skin and help to reduce any redness you may have. I don’t really have any redness, but I’m going to give this to someone I know who already uses and loves it.

IMG_5435

The second to last regular product we have is the Shiseido Urban Environment Oil-Free UV Protector Broad Spectrum Face Sunscreen SPF 42. This is a super light sunscreen that can also acts as a primer along with absorbing any oil you may have and giving a matte finish. I don’t always use an SPF under my makeup, I typically do a setting spray that is an SPF as well but that can get a little tacky, so I’m interested to try this out.

IMG_5436

And what would be the last product, this month’s bonus, is the Amika Soulfood Nourishing Mask. This is one of my all time favorite hair masks and I’m actually running low on the one I have so this is perfect timing. You put this all the way through your hair, leave for two to five minutes and rinse. It leaves your hair feeling really soft and healthy and I definitely recommend giving it a try if you haven’t.

IMG_5437

The extra product that I received as a thank you is the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dance Fever. I’m wearing this today and it’s a really nice medium brown shade. It went on smooth and it’s lasting well through the eating and drinking I’m doing. I have a couple of this is a range of different colors and I think they’re great.

IMG_5438

That about wraps it up for this post, if you got any of the same products in your April Play Box let me know and if not I’d love to know what you did get. I’d also love to know what your favorite product is that you’ve received from Sephora Play in general.

Until next time, enjoy your products and thank you Sephora Play for all the great products :).

March 2020 Sephora Play Unboxing

Hi everyone,

The other day I received my March Play Box from Sephora and I thought that today would be the perfect day to go through it. The theme for this month is Wild Beauty. These are must have products that will be great and work for you no matter what you’re doing. The bag itself is plastic with a snap and lock closure on top. The front is a see through minty green that is perfect for spring, with various beauty and lifestyle products and ‘Play! By Sephora’ in the middle. The back is white with ‘Excitement level 100’ written in the same minty green.

The first product we have is the Drybar Detox Clear Invisible Dry Shampoo. I’ve tried Drybar dry shampoos before and I do like them. I think they work well and they always smell good. Of course the worst thing about some dry shampoos is they can leave a residue behind so I really like the sound of a clear and invisible dry shampoo.

IMG_5318

Next we have something that I’m very familiar with, the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Quench Hydrating Primer. I use this primer all the time, it hydrates the skin and gives you a great base to work with.

IMG_5319

Moving on we have the GlamGlow Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer in Nude Glow. This is a moisturizer that you can wear on it’s own, under your foundation or you can even use as a highlighter. I have one of these and I really like it. It smells great and it gives a nice subtle glow under foundation. I definitely recommend giving this a try if you haven’t.

IMG_5320

The next product we have is the Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Moisturizer with Ceramides. This is a rich moisturizer with a luxe texture that is supposed to leave you feeling super hydrated. I haven’t tried a Drunk Elephant moisturizer but sounds like it’s right up my alley and I’m excited to try it out.

IMG_5322

The second to last product we have is the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Intense Black. I’ve used this liner, it was forever ago, but I really liked it. It has a precise tip so you have a lot of maneuverability, glides on smooth and once it dries it’s not going anywhere. Definitely an eyeliner I recommend.

IMG_5323

And the last product, this month’s bonus, is the Versace Bright Crystal perfume. I can’t even tell you how good this smells. It’s got the perfect mix of floral and fruity but it’s also got some freshness. If you haven’t smelled this and you get a chance, I recommend it. This is a great scent for spring and summer.

IMG_5324

That about wraps it up for this post, if you guys got any of the same products in your March Play Box let me know and if not I’d love to know what you did get.

Until next time, enjoy your products and I can’t wait to see what I get next month :).

Winter 2020 Walmart Beauty Box Review

Hi everyone,

Today I’m back with another review and this time it’s of the Winter 2020 Walmart Beauty Box. It is a little hard to call this a winter box when I received it on March 12th, but I’m happy that it came nonetheless. The theme for this box is Winter Wonders. The box itself is white with a Walmart logo in the center that is made of lipstick swatches in various reds and pinks and the inside of the box is blue.

IMG_5232

The first product we have is the Herbal Essences bio:renew Birch Bark Extract shampoo and conditioner. These have 0% sulfates, parabens, gluten and colorants and are supposed to have gentle color protection. I haven’t used Herbal Essences in a very long time, but I’m going to give this to a friend that I know loves it.

IMG_5235

Next we have the Colgate Optic White Renewal toothpaste. This says it’s high impact white, removes 10 years of yellow stains and is 3% hydrogen peroxide. It’s also sugar free, enamel safe, gluten free and vegan. I have a little kit I carry in my handbag that has little things like this in it so that’s exactly where this is going to go.

IMG_5236

IMG_5237

Moving on we have the Curel Dry Skin Therapy Hydra Skin Moisturizer with Ceramide Complex. This says it immediately absorbs and delivers long lasting non greasy moisture. I use the Curel Wet Skin Moisturizer and I really like that. I don’t have particularly dry skin, but extra moisture is always a plus so I’ll let you guys know what I think of this.

IMG_5238

The second to last product we have is the NYX Makeup Crew 2 piece set. You get two lipsticks in this set. One is a soft matte lip cream and the other is a soft matte metallic lip cream and they’re both in the shade California. I have a couple of the NYX soft matte lip creams and I like them. They have a whipped texture, they’re light on the lips and they have a pretty long wear time. I am mildly concerned to wear the metallic just because the swatch, while gorgeous, was really metallic. But we’ll see.

And the last product we have is the Color Club Nail Lacquer in 1198, It’s Complicated. Color Club is a brand I know of, but haven’t tried anything from. This is a really pretty magenta shade. I do have this on my nails now and it’s as pretty on as it is in the bottle. I put this on my nails on Friday, it’s now Monday and it’s holding up well. This went on great and it seems to have a nice formula.

That about wraps it up for this post, if you guys got any of the same products in your Winter Box let me know and if not I’d love to know what you did get.

Until next time, enjoy your products and I can’t wait to see what I get next season :).

February 2020 Sephora Play Unboxing

Hi everyone,

Over the weekend I received my February Sephora Play Box and I thought today would be the perfect day to go through it. The theme for this month is Beauty Soul Mates, which means these are products that you will fall for. The bag itself is plastic with a snap and lock closure. The front is a see through tealy blue with various beauty and lifestyle products and Play! By Sephora in the middle. The back is white with ‘How to PLAY! 1. Open 2. Heart eyes emoji 3. Repeat #SephoraPlay’ written in that same tealy blue.

IMG_5146

The first product we have is the Tarte SEA Water Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15 in 15N Fair-Light-Neutral. This is a weightless, buildable foundation that is supposed to reduce the look of wrinkles and fine lines. I’ve never used a Tarte foundation before but I’m intrigued by this and I’ll let you guys know what I think.

IMG_5152

Next we have the Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Moisturizer. This has Lotus Root extract and Maca Root extract which are supposed to help with uneven texture, dryness and dullness all while leaving your skin with a nice glow. I have used this before and it’s not my absolute favorite moisturizer but it is really good and I would recommend it.

IMG_5153

Moving on we have the Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream. This is an ultra moisturizing cream that is supposed to keep your skin moisturized and feeling like it’s on cloud nine for up to 72 hours. I really like Peter Thomas Roth as a brand, they make some amazing skincare, so I’m excited to try this.

IMG_5154

The next product we have is the KVD Vegan Beauty Lock-It Setting Powder. This is one of my favorite setting powders and has been for a while. It’s weightless, takes away unwanted shine and it’s not bad for baking either.

IMG_5155

IMG_5156

The second to last product we have is the Yves Saint Laurent Tatouage Couture Liquid Matte Lip Stain in 5 Rosewood Gang. I haven’t worn any of the YSL lip products but they’re supposed to be lightweight, long wearing and very pigmented. I really like the color of this one when I swatched it, it’s a really pretty deep pinky mauve and I’ll definitely let you guys know what I think.

IMG_5157

IMG_5148

And the last product, this month’s bonus, is the Drybar Blonde Ale Brightening Shampoo and Conditioner. This is supposed to keep your blonde looking blonde and your hair healthy. I got one of these in a Play Box a few months ago and I haven’t gotten around to trying it yet but they have great reviews.

IMG_5158

That about wraps it up for this post, if you guys got any of the same products in your February Play Box let me know and if not I’d love to know what you did get.

Until next time, enjoy your products and I can’t wait to see what I get next month :).
