June 2022 Favorites

Hi everyone,

Happy Friday! As it’s the last day of the month, I thought it would be the perfect time to do my monthly favorites. I have a pretty good mix of stuff this month, so let’s get into it.

Starting with beauty, I have a couple of favorites from my June BoxyCharm box, and if you haven’t read that yet, I’ll link it below. My first Boxy favorite is the Chella Dual Liquid Eyeliner Pearl. This is a double ended liquid eyeliner, one side is blue, the other is black and they are formulated with pearl pigments to give them a nice shine. I have yet to try the blue, but I’ve been wearing the black and I like it a lot. The pearl doesn’t come through quite as much but I don’t mind. It’s long wearing, doesn’t smudge and because the brush is tapered, it gives you a lot of control over the size and style of the line you’re doing. I definitely recommend.

IMG_1685

My next beauty favorite is the Violet Voss SunKissed Summer Eyeshadow and Pressed Pigment Palette. I am currently working on a Three Recent Looks with this palette, so I won’t say too much, but I do really like it. The formulation and pigmentation of the shadows is top tier. There’s quite a bit of diversity within the colors and you see that once you start swatching, so you have quite a few options when it comes to looks with this palette. I really like Violet Voss as a brand, I have a couple of their other palettes and they’re a mainstay in my eyeshadow palette collection.

IMG_1679

IMG_1680

My second to last beauty favorite is the Yensa Tone Up Primer Essential Glow. I was slightly unsure if my skin would like this when I got it, but I’ve been using it since and I can tell you that both myself and my skin are very happy with it. It has 8 super powered skin loving ingredients, black sesame oil, black seaweed, black tea, shiitake mushroom, black rice, Korean black raspberry, nettle and chia seed. There is no parabens, sulfates, mineral oil, phthalates and it’s animal cruelty free. What this does do is makes your makeup last all day while minimizing the appearance of pores, fine lines and wrinkles while having a satin-sheen finish. I can be kind of picky with what I like in a face primer, but this one has found a way into my makeup bag and I think it will be there for a while.

IMG_1683

And my last beauty favorite is the Volition Beauty Turmeric Brightening Polish. I’ve been using this since I got it and I like it a lot. This is turmeric based and it helps to brighten, smooth, tone and hydrate skin while helping to promote overall skin radiance and give you a natural glow. I think a good scrub is always a good thing to have. I use this on my legs when I shave and I’ve been seeing a definite difference. My legs are even softer than they were before and they are definitely extra hydrated. My only thing is because this is turmeric based, it doesn’t smell the best, but I can definitely overlook that because of the results. If you’re looking for a good body scrub, I would recommend giving this a try.

IMG_1684

Moving on, I have a book favorite and it’s Long Train Runnin’ Our Story of The Doobie Brothers by Tom Johnston and Pat Simmons with Chris Epting. I’ve mentioned before how much I love The Doobie Brothers, they are a band I grew up with, they were a HUGE part of my childhood, and I still love them just as much. So when I saw Pat and Tom where releasing a book I was incredibly excited and this is everything I wanted it to be and more. There were obviously some stories I knew, some I knew parts of and a lot that I didn’t know at all, it was incredibly interesting to read the different perspectives from the guys that were there and not just one long story. There were parts where I laughed, parts where I felt all the emotions, a lot of Tom when he was leaving the band, but I think what I did the most, what this book kind of forced me to do was go back and look at a lot of their songs in a different way. The lyrics, the arrangements, all of it. I guess what I’m trying to say is that it made me really, listen to the music. And I thank Pat and Tom for taking the time to write it down because The Doobie Brothers have such and incredible story and history and I’m honored to know more of it than ever before. If you are a casual or longtime fan of theirs or just love music history I highly recommend giving this book a read. You will learn so much and the pictures they included are fantastic.

IMG_1627

And my last favorite isn’t a music favorite, although there are some songs I am liking right now, that’s for next month’s favorites, but it’s a podcast favorite. My podcast. I mention my podcast The Unlikely Motorsports Duo each month because I feel like we grow so much every time we release an episode. We have a spicy one up at the moment on our Twitch channel from this week, go watch it (please and thank you!). And something else that’s exciting, we now have merch! We currently have mugs, can koozies, stickers and magnets. Also, if you are a driver, brand, company or involved in motorsports in any way and want to be represented on another platform, let’s do a merch swap! I always wear some form of motorsports merchandise during the show so if you have clothes, stickers, mugs, etc, reach out and we’ll do that! My cohost and I are having a ton of fun doing the show and we’re excited to keep growing. We actually have a fun motorsports based game night coming up, so keep an eye on my social media for the time and date of that!

IMG_1553

That about wraps it up for this month, if we have any of the same favorites let me know and if not, I’d love to know what your June favorites were.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope you had a great June :).

June 2022 BoxyCharm Unboxing

Hi everyone,

I received my June BoxyCharm box yesterday and I thought that today would be the perfect time to go through it. The theme this month, as it’s Pride Month, is express yourself.

IMG_1669

The first item we have is the DryBar Liquid Glass Miracle Smoothing Sealant. This is a heat activated spray that wraps an invisible shield around your hair to provide frizz resistance and leave you with silky, super glossy hair. It’s lightweight, lasts through 3 washes and protects from heat up to 450 degrees F/232 degrees C. I love things like this, my hair does get a little frizzy sometimes when I apply heat to it, so I’m excited to try this out.

IMG_1675

Next up we have the Chella Dual Liquid Eyeliner Pearl. This is a double ended liquid eyeliner with an icy blue liner and a black liner. These say they are longwearing, smudge proof and glide on effortlessly. The brush is tapered, it does give you a lot of control on the size and style of line that you want, which is always really nice. What makes these pearl liners is the fact that thy are formulated with pearl pigments, which you’ll see in the swatch, does give them a nice bit of shimmer. Based on the swatch alone, these look a little bit runny and the blue wasn’t as pigmented as I was thinking it was going to be, but that might change once it’s on the eye. I also think that this liner is a bit overpriced, I get that it’s a dual liner, but I think that $35.00 is a bit much.

IMG_1677

IMG_1678

IMG_1685

Moving on, we have my Choice item for the month, the Violet Voss SunKissed Summer Eyeshadow and Pressed Pigment Palette. This palette has universally flattering shades to help you create the most iconic summer looks, year round with it’s blend of matte and metallic shadows. I do really like the outer packaging, it had great summer vibes.

IMG_1679

This is a 10 pan palette and though it’s a summer and sun focused palette, I think there’s a lot of room to create different looks.

IMG_1680

You do get a nice little mirror with this palette, which I always like, because you don’t always get that with palettes this size.

IMG_1681

Just from looking at it, I could tell these shades were going to be gorgeous. Violet Voss always does a fantastic job of formulating their shadows. The mattes are always very smooth and the metallics are incredibly pigmented.

IMG_1682

I swatched these in the rows they appear. The first shadow we have is Sandbar, which is a matte sandy shade. Next to that is Sunkissed, a metallic light gold that leans more towards the yellow gold area. Then there’s Sunsation, a light matte shade that I would say is like a mix of gold and a light caramel. Next to that is Gold Coast, another metallic gold, but this one is a deep gold. And the last shadow in the row is Heatwave, a really pretty metallic bronzey shade.

IMG_1686

The second row starts with Glow On, a really pretty metallic that I would say is a light peachy/gold. Next to that is Cool Down, a matte shadow that I think is kinda unique. It’s a mix of what I would say is rose and maybe mauve, it’s quite nice. Then there’s Sunnies Out, a metallic rose gold, which is always a great shade to have in any palette, especially one for summer. Next to that is Berry Hot, which is a shadow I like a lot. I would say it’s a deep cranberry in shade, but it’s a glitter, and when I swatched it the glitter didn’t fall everywhere, always a huge plus, but it was so pretty when it hit the light. I’m excited to wear this one. And the last shadow in the row is Tan Lines, a matte medium brown, which might seem a little boring in a palette like this, but most of the time when I do a gold look, I balance it with a matte brown shadow of some sort, so I was really happy to see it included.

IMG_1687

The second to last item we have is the Yensa Tone Up Primer Essential Glow. This isn’t just your average primer. This is infused with 8 super powered skin loving ingredients to help with minimizing the appearance of pores, fine lines and wrinkles. It has a lightweight satin-sheen formula to create an invisible skin perfecting finish. The 8 ingredients it uses to help with this are black sesame oil, black seaweed, black tea, shiitake mushroom, black rice, Korean black raspberry, nettle and chia seed. What it doesn’t have is parabens, sulfates, mineral oil, phthalates and it’s animal cruelty free. I have this on right now, and so far I’m liking it. I’ll keep using it and let you guys know what I think after putting it to the test.

IMG_1683

And the last item we have is the Volition Beauty Turmeric Brightening Polish. This is an indulgent polishing scrub, powered by turmeric to visibly brighten and smooth, tone and hydrate and promote overall skin radiance to give you a natural looking glow. I do like a good scrub, and a nice, natural glow is always wanted, especially heading into summer, so I’m interested to try this out.

IMG_1684

That about wraps it up for this post, I do generally like a more makeup heavy box, but there are some good things in here. If you got any of the same items in your June BoxyCharm box let me know and if not, I’d love to know what you did get.

Until next time, enjoy your products and I can’t wait to see what I get next month :).

Blogmas Day Eleven: BoxyCharm, A Year In Review

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day Eleven! Today I’m going to be doing a BoxyCharm Year In Review. I got a lot of great boxes this year and had a ton of favorite products, so I thought it would be good to put them all together and share what I really loved.

January:

The January box was a strong start to the year, and my favorite from this box was the Ace Beaute Bronzed In Paradise Palette. It didn’t feature in any of my recent looks posts, but I do like it and I do use it, it tends to fall to the back of my bronzer drawer, so I need to make a spot for it towards the front.

IMG_7176

IMG_7184

IMG_7185

February:

Ace Beaute made a really great impression in BoxyCharm this year, at least for me, and one of the things I loved in February was the Ace Beaute Nostalgia Palette. I use this all the time, I think it’s a super fun and versatile palette, in fact I talked about it in yesterday’s post. The other thing I loved in February was the Wander Beauty Double Date Lip & Cheek in Rendezvous/Swipe. I use Rendezvous solely as a lip product and I like it a lot. It’s a very pretty shade of pink.

IMG_7323

IMG_7328

March:

The March box had three items in it that I either loved already or have become staples in my makeup collection. The first of which is the Lime Crime Venus III Palette. This palette is super cute, it has some super pretty shadows in it and I love the versatility it affords. Then there’s the Too Faced Damn Girl Mascara which I’ve loved pretty much since it came out, it’s so good and always does my lashes good. The last product is one that I was initially unsure of because I don’t love rose in beauty and skincare products, but it’s turned into one of my favorites and it’s the Maven Beauty Rose Water Setting Spray. This locks in your makeup and you don’t feel sticky. Because of the rose water, it’s actually kinda refreshing.

IMG_7544

IMG_7547

IMG_7550

April:

In April I received the Flirtacious Looks Monarch Lash Pack and these lashes are SO good! It came with two pairs, Baby Girl, an angled lash and Charmer, a round lash. The second thing I loved from the April box is the Eloise Beauty Get Gleaming Body Glow Illuminator in Champagne Rich. I used this a lot during the summer and it gives a great glow but is also buildable so you can have your desired level of glow.

IMG_7919

IMG_7924

IMG_7927

May:

The May box saw me receiving two things that I have since repurchased and have talked about so many times since. The first is the Sophia + Mabelle Hydrating Hybrid Lipstick in Topless. This is a nude lipstick with the hydration of a balm and it’s so, so good. I honestly recommend, especially if you’re a nude lipstick fan. The second is the Murad City Skin Overnight Detox Moisturizer. I mentioned this in my Winter Skincare post and it’s an excellent moisturizer because it not only moisturizes, but it protects against blue light which is perfect for me because I do spend a bit of time on my computer. My skin definitely likes Murad.

IMG_8187

IMG_8209

IMG_8206

June:

The June box had two things that very much screamed summer to me, a bright lipstick and glowy skin. The bright lipstick came in the form of the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Famous Red, which has become a go to of mine in my red lipstick collection. The glowy skin came from the Touch In Sol Pretty Filter Glowdient Palette, I talk about this all the time, you guys know how much I love it.

July:

In July I got a great mix of great makeup and skincare. The Ofra Mini Mix Palette in Good To Go is something I already loved, so when I saw it was a choice item for July I picked it and it turned out to be a great choice because I just hit pan on the bronzer and because these are magnetic pans, I can just swap out the new and old ones. The BellaPierre Cosmetics Liquid Eyeliner in Black has become something I reach for a lot in my eyeliner drawer and I like it a lot, you have a lot of flexibility so you can do the thin precise line or you can do a thick and dramatic wing. On the skincare side, this is when I got the Mudmasky Vitamin Infused Eye Serum, I also talked about this in my Winter Skincare post and I love it, I can see a difference since I started using it.

IMG_8808

IMG_8803

August:

The August box featured what as become a go to eyeshadow palette for me, the Dito Cosmetics Venus Palette. I used this palette a lot during college football season and when I did my gold eye look for yesterday’s post, this is what I used to do it. I’m also a space nerd, so that made this palette extra fun for me. My second August favorite is the Volition Hibiscus Unspottable Correcting Oil. I have a couple of dark spots on my face, and this has helped tremendously, it’s a great product. Definitely recommend it you’re looking to get rid of any dark spots.

IMG_9035

IMG_9037

IMG_9033

September:

I’m gonna be honest, this was not my favorite box of the year. I did and do like the GlamGlow YouthMud Glow Stimulating Treatment. This is the OG GlamGlow product that made it what it is today and when you use it you can see why. Obviously the more you use it, the more results you see, but when in the 10 or so minutes you have it on, you can tell a difference. The exfoliating properties give you smooth, glowy and soft skin. The other thing I liked in this box is the Half Caked 813, Duo Fiber Brush. I use this for blush, and it gives you an airbrushed finish. It’s also super soft and I like the colors, I don’t have a lot of brushes in this color.

IMG_9285

IMG_9303

IMG_9314

October:

The October box was fantastic. I feel like as we got closer to the end of the year, the boxes got better and better. I’ve talked about this palette a number of times since getting it, but the October box gave me the Ace Beaute Falling For You Palette and I still love it so much. I used it yesterday and it’s still great, the color range, the mix of mattes and shimmer, the color payoff and the formulation are all top notch. This box gave me something I had never tried before, and that was the Appeal Cosmetics Adhesive Liner. I’ve worn this a few times and I do like it, I find it to be quicker and easier than messing around with lash glue, and we all know how much of a mess that can be. I also received a set of lashes that I love, they’re from Camara Aunique Beauty and they’re the Mary Lash. They do give you volume and that oomph that you want from a false lash, but it’s very natural. The last thing in this box that I love is the Tresluce Beauty Like An Artista 4 Piece Brush Set. I know that at the time I received this set the brand was fairly new, but for a new brand they seriously smashed it with the brushes. They’re all super soft, blend nicely and they’re nice to grip.

November:

In November I genuinely loved everything in the box, and I don’t know if that’s happened in the time I’ve been doing BoxyCharm. It started with the Ace Beaute Eyeshadow Amplifying Base in Light, I talk about this all the time, it makes your shadow last all day and it amplifies both mattes and shimmers without being too sticky and tacky. Then we have the Violet Voss Violet Sunset Palette. For being a smaller palette it has a lot of versatility and the colors are so, so pretty. I’ve been using this a lot recently. The Hanalei Beauty Company Matte Bronzer is one that has quickly made it’s way into the front of my bronzer drawer, I love that it’s on the lighter side so you can build it up as much as you want and you get that nice Hawaiian glow. The Luxie Pautips Por La Noche Brush Set was nice to see because I really like Luxie brushes and this came with a cute little pouch which is currently holding these brushes and all the random single brushes I had. The last product in this box is the Bodyography Makeup Brush Cleanser. I used this recently when I cleaned by brushes and having it in the spray bottle was so much quicker and easier and I feel like it didn’t take as much to clean them as it usually does.

December:

I won’t be revealing my thoughts and favorites from the December box in this post, but I will be doing so in my monthly favorites like I always do.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we had any of the same overall Boxy favorites let me know and if not, I’d love to know what you loved from BoxyCharm this year.

Until next time, enjoy your products, I can’t believe Blogmas is almost over and I can’t wait to see what I get next year in BoxyCharm :).

October Favorites

Hi everyone,

I know it’s a day late, but today I’m going to be doing my October Favorites. It’s late because I went to a Halloween party on the 30th and wanted to include my costume in this post. I think I have a pretty good mix of favorites this month, so let’s get into it.

Starting with beauty, I have a couple of favorites from my October BoxyCharm box, and I’ll link that below if you haven’t read it. My first Boxy favorite is the Appeal Cosmetics Adhesive Liquid Liner in Jet Black. This is the first adhesive liner I’ve tried and I really do like it. It’s so much easier than messing with a tube of glue, all you do is apply, wait for it to get tacky, then put your lashes on. Easy peasy. On the liner side of this, it’s ultra fine and you can easily do a thin or thick line. I definitely recommend giving this a try if you’re wanting to ditch the lash glue.

IMG_9448

IMG_9449

My next Boxy favorite is the Camara Aunique Beauty Mary Lash. These are faux mink and the most natural in their collection. They give you a nice, softness to your look while still giving you a good amount of volume. I’ve worn these a couple different times and I like them a lot. I’m definitely going to be picking up some more lashes from Camara Aunique in the future.

IMG_9451

IMG_9512

IMG_9513

My last Boxy favorite is the Ace Beaute Falling For You Palette. I’m not going to say too much about this palette because I’m going to be doing a Three Recent Looks post with it, but what I will say is that I like it a lot. I think it’s super versatile, perfect for this time of year but you could wear it during the warmer months as well and the shadows are fantastic. Definitely recommend giving it a try if you’re looking for a great fall palette.

IMG_9445

IMG_9447

And my last beauty favorite is the look I did to go with my Halloween costume. It’s very similar to the one I did for the 4th of July, with a few changes, but I like it a lot and it really added to the whole overall look.

IMG_9572

Moving on to more random favorites, we have my Halloween costume itself. This year I wanted something really fun and sparkly so that’s exactly what I got. Sparkly sailor. I think this is one of my favorite costumes I’ve done in a while, I had a lot of fun with it and it’s super cute. And honestly for being 90% sequins it wasn’t itchy which sequined things sometimes can be.

IMG_9578

IMG_9580

And my last favorite is a music favorite and it’s the Doobie Brothers new album Liberte. You guys, I honestly can’t say enough good things about this album. From top to bottom it’s incredible, I genuinely really like every song, I don’t listen to Amen Old Friend as much because it makes emotional every time I do, which isn’t a bad thing, but ya know. But I genuinely can’t pick a favorite song, they’re all so great. The only thing I don’t love is the fact that I preordered it and they’ve had delays in getting them out so I haven’t gotten a physical copy yet, but I know they were supposed to start shipping end of October so I’m excited to get my hands on it. If you haven’t listened to Liberte yet I highly, highly recommend doing so.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we have any of the same favorites let me know and if not I’d love to know what your October favorites were.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope you had a great October :).

October BoxyCharm Unboxing

Hi everyone,

Yesterday I received my October BoxyCharm box and I thought that today would be the perfect day to go through it. The theme this month is Spellbound, which is obviously the perfect theme with Halloween and there are definitely some products in here that fit the theme well.

IMG_9433

So the first product we have is the Tarte Wink of H2O Vegan Collagen Eye Cream. They say that this is like an espresso shot for your under eyes. It’s supposed to reduce the appearance of dark circles and puffiness, has a light water based formula that gives 24 hour hydration and helps to firm and fight signs of aging with what they call hydroflex technology. This has a mix of marine plants, peptides, SEA surge complex, avocado oil, shea butter, caffeine and a vegan collagen complex. What it doesn’t have is parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, triclosan, sodium lauryl sulfate and gluten. I do really like the eye cream I’m using right now, and my skin is 50/50 on Tarte skincare so I think I’ll give this a try and if my under eyes like it then I’ll definitely incorporate it into my routine.

IMG_9442

The next product we have is the Ace Beaute Falling For You Eyeshadow Palette. When I saw this palette in the spoilers for the October box I was excited and was hoping I would get it because it looked so pretty and like the embodiment of fall. I have another Ace Beaute palette that I love and use all the time, so I knew what the quality of the palette would be. I love what they did with the outside of this palette, I like the use of the orange, gold and the fall leaves.

IMG_9445

You do get a decent size mirror with this palette and it has a nice gold boarder around it.

IMG_9446

This is a 12 pan palette with a mix of matte and metallic shadows that they say have been carefully milled and packed so you get the easiest application and excellent color payoff.

IMG_9447

I swatched these in the rows they appear in in the palette. So the first shadow we have is Apple, a really pretty metallic rose gold. Next to that is Squash, which is a matte lighter pink. Then we have Pumpkin Pie, which is a unique color, it’s a matte reddish/orange brown and the last shadow in the row is Autumn, which is a matte deep apricot.

IMG_9460

The first shadow in the second row is Pine Cone which is a matte, darker sienna brown. Next to that is Cherry Pie, a metallic pinky red with some purple glitter. Then there’s Spice, a metallic taupe shade but it’s a deep taupe and it’s actually really nice. And the last shadow in the row is Cranberry, a matte berry shade that I like a lot.

IMG_9461

The first shadow in the third row is Chestnut, a matte deeper purple. Almost like a raisin tone. Next to that is Persimmon, a matte yellow/orange. Then there’s Cider, which is an almost green/gold metallic and the last shadow in the row is Candy Corn, which is a very bright, matte blood orange. What I can tell so far about these shadows is they’re all very pigmented and have a really nice formula. I’m excited to play around with them.

IMG_9462

Moving on we have the Appeal Cosmetics Adhesive Liquid Liner in Jet Black. This is ultra fine liner that will have you ditching the tubes of glue to apply your false lashes. Prior to this I hadn’t tried an adhesive liner so I was excited to and I’m testing it today. So far I really like it. It’s simple and easy to use, all you do is wait for it to get tacky, then apply your lashes. If you’re someone who wants easier application or is just over lash glue in general, I would say to give this a try.

IMG_9448

IMG_9449

The second to last product we have is the Camara Aunique Beauty Mary Lash. These are faux mink lashes that they say are the most natural in their collection, is perfect for any woman who wants to keep it real with her beauty. These are a soft and light whisper lash that look perfect on any eye shape. I’m not the type to wear lashes everyday, but I do love a good set of lashes and these look like a good set so I’m excited to try them out and see how they look.

IMG_9450

IMG_9451

And the last product we have is the Tresluce Beauty Like An Artista Brush Set. Tresluce Beauty is a newer brand from Becky G and this is four piece brush set. These brushes are vegan mixed texture fibers so they make it easy to blend and create your ideal eye look. I really like the packaging on these and the fact that the brushes themselves are that same matte blue. They’re also really nice to grip.

IMG_9452

IMG_9454

One thing that I appreciate about the way they packaged these brushes is that each brush in the box has it’s own individual packaging. I can’t tell you how many times I take brushes out of a box and they’re smashed in some way.

IMG_9453

So with this set you get four brushes. The first is the B100 Deluxe Blending Brush. This brush, and all of them, are really soft. This one seems like a nice blender.

IMG_9456

Next is the B101 Classic Blending Brush. This is very similar to the Deluxe, but it’s shorter and slightly less fluffy.

IMG_9459

Then we have the B102 Angled Blending Brush. I don’t always use an angled blending brush, but they’re really nice to have.

IMG_9457

And the last brush we have is the B121 Rounded Pencil Brush. This is a great brush for applying color to your lower lash line.

IMG_9455

That about wraps it up for this post, if you got any of the same products in your October BoxyCharm box let me know and if not I’d love to know what you did get.

Until next time, enjoy your products and I can’t wait to see what I get in my November box :).

July Favorites

Hi everyone,

As it’s the end of the month, I thought it would be the perfect time do my July Favorites. This month was so busy for me and I feel like it flew by, but I did manage to put together a pretty good mix of favorites.

Starting with beauty, I have a couple of favorites from my July BoxyCharm box, and I’ll link that post below if you haven’t read it. My first Boxy favorite is the BellaPierre Cosmetics Liquid Eyeliner in Black. I’ve been using this quite a bit and I like it a lot. It has a tapered and flexible tip so you can easily do a really bold or a really thin line. It has great staying power, once it dries down it’s there all day and I definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a new liner.

My last Boxy favorite is the Mudmasky Vitamin-Infused Eye Serum. This is a Vitamin C serum for your under eye that nourishes, moisturizes, and firms the skin along with helping to reduce dark circles. I’ve been using this pretty much since I got it because I was intrigued by it and I’ve been seeing Mudmasky everywhere recently, and I can honestly say that I’m really liking it. I’m starting to be able to see a slight difference from before I started using it to now and that’s a very good thing. This is a product I would definitely recommend giving a try.

And my last beauty favorite is the lip liner and lipstick combo I wore yesterday for National Lipstick Day. I looked back at some of my pictures from National Lipstick Day from the past couple years and found it funny that without realizing it, I’ve been doing very different colors every year. What I wanted to do yesterday, because I already had my eyeshadow look done when I realized and was going to do it anyway, it something in the nude/brown area. So what I went with is the Model Co Lip Enhancer Illusion Nude Lip Liner and the Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick in Bombshell. It’s one of my favorite combos for a nude/brown lip and I love the Huda liquid lipsticks, the formula is really nice and you get incredible pigmentation and color payoff.

Moving on to a more random favorite, there is a squirrel that’s been hanging around my backyard for a while, getting more and more bold as he does, and recently he’s been coming up on my deck and chilling, so I’ve started feeding him and I think it’s adorable. He’s a cute little guy and to his credit has only tried to come in house once. And the funny thing is multiple of my neighbors have had similar instances with squirrels over the years, so I’m not surprised this happened.

And my last favorite is a music favorite, actually it’s a couple of songs. This month a lot of good songs came out that I’m enjoying. Little Mix and Anne-Marie’s song is a bop. Bonamassa’s new song is great, I hope that the rest of the album, assuming there will be an album, will follow along the same vibe because that would be nice to hear. And Eric Clapton has released a couple of songs from his 50th anniversary album and I’m liking them a lot. There’s a lot of songs on there that I either don’t know if I’ve listened to, haven’t heard in ages, or just really like and am enjoying like always. If you haven’t given any of these a listen, I definitely recommend doing so.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we had any of the same favorites let me know and if not, I’d love to know what your July favorites were.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope you had a great July :).

July BoxyCharm Unboxing

Hi everyone,

Yesterday I received my July BoxyCharm box and I thought that today would be the perfect day to go through it. The theme this month is FantaSEA. It’s supposed to be like all of your makeup and skincare fantasies coming true, but the FantaSEA element creates a perfect tie in with summer.

IMG_8792

So the first product we have is the BellaPierre Cosmetics Liquid Eyeliner in Black. This is a jet black liner with a tapered and flexible tip so you can create a bold or thin line. This says it has a long lasting formula that dries down quickly and has a matte finish. I don’t actually have any eyeliners like this right now, and you can never have to many different styles of eyeliner, so I’m happy to see this in this box.

The next product we have is the AlleyOop Makeup Pen in Make A Mauve. Does anyone remember those pens from childhood that had the multiple colors in them and to select the color you slid down the little tab? Well, this pen is that in makeup form and my inner child can’t get over it. This pen has four different makeup products in it, a coffee brown eyebrow pencil, a black eyeliner, a champagne highlighter and a mauve lip pencil. This is also vegan, cruelty free, paraben free, phthalate free and lead free. I think this pen is adorable, on one side it says ‘I like your face (with a heart emoji).’ There are two other versions of this pen, a lighter one and a dark one, and I’m excited to try this out. I also think that having four of the makeup essentials in one little pen you can just throw in your bag is super handy and I like it a lot.

Moving on we have the Mudmasky Vitamin-Infused Eye Serum. This is a Vitamin C eye serum that is supposed to give your skin a moisture boost and vitamin boost while feeding, nourishing and firming. It’s also supposed to help in reducing dark circles and can be used on all skin types. I’ve been seeing Mudmasky everywhere lately and hearing good things about them, so I’m interested to try this out.

IMG_8803

The second to last item we have is the Dermelect Cosmeceuticals Outcrease Retinol Trifecta Serum. This serum has retinol, retinyl acetate, retinyl palmitate, ceramides and Vitamins C and E and is supposed to do a whole host of things. It’s supposed to target the signs of aging, wrinkles, fine lines, uneven skin tone and enlarged pores, promote increased cell turnover and improve the look of UV damaged and congested skin. Giving you brighter, smoother, firmer and rejuvenated skin, it’s also suitable for all skin types. I have two serums that I’m using right now that I really like, but this sounds really nice and I’m definitely going to give this one a try. I do have to say, if you’re got this in your box or are planning on just buying one, because it has so much retinol in it, be careful because it can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight.

IMG_8805

And the last item we have was my choice item for the month, the Ofra Cosmetics Good To Go Mini Mix Palette. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while then you might be thinking you’ve seen this palette before and that’s because you have. During the January BoxyCharm Add-On I picked this up and I’ve been using it a ton since then. I got this one because the pans are magnetic and you can switch them out and I’ve hit pan on the bronzer and one of the highlight shades. I’ll link the post where I talked all about it and included swatches, but this is a great palette and I definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a multifunctional palette.

That about wraps it up for this post, if you got any of the same items in your July BoxyCharm box let me know and if not I’d love to know what you did get.

Until next time, enjoy your products and I can’t wait to see what I get in my August box :).

April Favorites

Hi everyone,

As it’s the end of the month I thought it would be the perfect time to do my April favorites. I have a pretty good mix this month, so let’s get into it.

Starting with beauty, I have a couple of favorites from my April BoxyCharm box, and if you haven’t read that I’ll link it below. My first Boxy favorite is the Eloise Beauty Get Gleaming Body Glow in Champagne Rich. This is a lightweight, non sticky luminizer for face and body. This says it has a transfer proof formula and it appears to be very buildable, so you could build it up for your desired glow. Based on the swatch and the little test I did, it’s super pretty and definitely something I’m going to be using a lot during the summer months.

My last Boxy favorite is the Natasha Denona Ayana palette. This is a 5 pan, cool toned palette made exclusively for BoxyCharm and it has 3 mattes and 2 shimmers.

I’ve done one look with this palette since I’ve had it and I think this palette is a classic example of how great ND shadows are. The formulation is great, the mattes are smooth and blend out nicely, the shimmers are creamy and everything is really pigmented. If you’re looking to try out Natasha Denona shadows and don’t want to commit to one of the larger palettes, I definitely recommend the smaller 5 pan palettes.

And my last beauty favorite is the ColourPop Fresh Cut BFF Creme Gel Liner Kit. I did a whole post about these, so I’ll link that below as well. I really like this kit. I like the range of colors, they’re super long lasting and they’re comfortable to put in the waterline. If you’re looking for a set of spring colored eyeliners, I definitely recommend this one.

Moving on, I have a food favorite and it’s the Popcorners chips. These are triangle shaped popcorn chips and they’re delicious. They have a few flavors but I’ve tried the Sea Salt and Kettle Corn and I would recommend both. What I like about these is they’re light and a lot less messy than eating from a bowl of popcorn. Definitely a great snack.

Moving on, I have a couple of fashion favorites. I’ve been doing a little bit of online shopping recently with a focus on things for spring and summer, and so far I’ve picked up some really cute pieces. The first is a white tank top from Macy’s. I like this because the material is lightweight, but it’s not totally see through. It has a thicker strap, a scoop neck, a cute little pocket on the left side and it ties at the bottom.

My second fashion favorite is a dress from Nordstrom. I’m always trying to add more spring and summer dresses to my wardrobe and when I came across this one I thought it was super cute. It’s coral with a white floral print, spaghetti straps, a ruffle at the top and a ruffled bottom. Once I wear it I’ll post pictures on my social media.

And my last favorite is a music favorite and this time it’s a song. So a little bit of background, the US Navy Blue Angels just started their 2021 show season and the airshow they were at did a live stream of the whole weekend, and one of the things that I’m always interested in is the music they pick for the show and how the songs go with each maneuver. I think that they have a pretty good song list, some I like more than others, and I know that it might change as the season goes on. But there were a few songs in particular that stuck out to me and one of them is American Style by Old Dominion. Not only do I think this is a really fun song, but they use it towards the end of the show when they’re in the Delta and I think it’s super fitting. Definitely a song I would recommend listening to if you haven’t.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we have any of the same favorites let me know and if not I’d love to know what your April favorites were.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope you had a great April :).

ColourPop Fresh Cut BFF Creme Gel Liner Kit Unboxing

Hi everyone,

Today I have a fun unboxing post. Recently I placed a ColourPop order and when it came I decided that each item would get it’s own post. So today I’m going to be doing the first of three posts.

One thing I haven’t tried from ColourPop is their eyeliner and I really wanted some fun liners for spring, and I came across the Fresh Cut BFF Creme Gel Liner Kit. This has six liners in it in a range of spring colors.

IMG_7845

Starting at the top we have Exit, which is a pure white liner. I have a few looks in mind for a couple of these liners, this one included, but it’s going to be fun to create new and fun looks with all of them.

IMG_7846

IMG_7853

Next we have Extra Frosting, which is what I would call a butter yellow.

IMG_7847

IMG_7855

Then we have Peach Fuzz, which is as it says on the tin, a peach shade.

IMG_7848

IMG_7856

The next liner we have is Ice Breaker. This is a shade I like a lot and it’s a really pretty mint shade.

IMG_7849

IMG_7857

The second to last liner we have is Big Splash, which is a really nice sky blue.

And the last liner we have is Amethyst Hour, a really pretty lilac shade.

That about wraps it up for this post, if you have any of these liners I’d love to know which and what looks you’ve done with it/them. You can buy these liners individually if you don’t want the entire kit and they’re $7.00.

Until next time, have fun creating different looks and you can never have too many liners :).

KVD Vegan Beauty Legendary Icons Review

Hi everyone,

Happy 2021! For my first post of the year, I thought it would be fun to do a review of something I picked up during at Sephora after Christmas, the KVD Vegan Beauty Legendary Icons Set.

IMG_7042

This set comes with three items, two of which are full size and one is a mini.

IMG_7043

The first product we have is the Tattoo Liner Waterproof Liquid Liner in Trooper. This is one of my favorite eyeliners. It has a fine tip so you can get a precise line, but you can also get a thicker line if that’s what you’re looking for. This dries down quickly, stays in place and lasts all day.

IMG_7044

Next we have the Go Big Or Go Home Volumizing Mascara in Trooper. This is a long wearing, smudge resistant mascara that is supposed to give you extreme volume. This has a pretty decent wand on it that looks like it will coat all of your lashes. I’ve heard really good things about this mascara, so I’m excited to try it.

IMG_7045

And the last product in this set is a mini Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita. I really like the formulation of the Everlasting Liquid lipsticks. They’re light on the lips and don’t make your lips feel dry, they’re nicely pigmented and are long lasting. This shade in particular is a brown with pink undertones and the color range of these lipsticks is pretty big.

IMG_7046

IMG_7047

That about wraps it up for this post, if you have this set let me know which product is your favorite and if not I’d love to know what your favorite KVD product is.

Until next time, have fun creating different looks and you have never have too many makeup sets :).
