June Favorites

Hi everyone,

Today, as it’s the end of the month I thought it would be the perfect time to do my June favorites. I have quite a few things I loved this month, and a pretty good mix, so let’s get into it.

Starting with beauty, I have a few favorites from my June Sephora Play Box and I will link that post down below if you haven’t read it. My first Sephora Play favorite is the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask in Vanilla. I mentioned that I had never used a lip sleeping mask, so I didn’t quite know what to expect, but I really like this one. You put this on before you go to bed and when you wake up you remove the remaining product and you’re left with really smooth and moisturized lips. This also smells really good and I definitely recommend it.

Next we have the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Quench Hydrating Primer. I’ve been using this primer off and on for a while now and it’s one that I really like. It has marine plant extracts, turmeric and hyaluronic acid which helps to really wake up your skin and it gives you a great base to work with. The Tarte Rainforest of the Sea line has a ton of great products and this is a primer that I always recommend.

JUSP3

And my last Sephora Play favorite is the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair BarriAIR Cream. I’ve been slowly incorporating this into my skincare routine and I’m really liking it. It’s really light, sinks into the skin pretty quickly and I feel very moisturized.

JUSP4

Moving on, I have a jewelry favorite and it’s these earrings. I did a whole post about them and I’ll link that down below. But basically they’re from Earfleek and I like them a lot. They’re simple but I think they add the perfect little bit to a look.

Next I have a racing favorite and it’s the 24 Hours of Le Mans. One of the biggest races of the year, it takes place at the Circuit de le Sarthe, Le Mans, France and this was the 87th running. I watched most of it, like I try to every year, and it was very exciting and there was a lot going on like in any endurance race and then there were some not so great moments. But I would one thousand percent recommend watching it if you never have.

My last kind of random favorite is a TV show, Good Omens on Amazon Prime. I had been seeing ads for Good Omens everywhere and it looked kind of interesting so I decided to give it a go. I’m so glad I did because it’s brilliant and I absolutely loved it. I think the casting was absolutely perfect and I love the humor that it brings. The only thing that I didn’t like is that’s it’s only six episodes because I wanted more, but being based off of a book, I understand. And now I’m going to read the book because I’m interested to see how it translated and because the book has great reviews. I absolutely, 10/10 recommend it.

And my last couple of favorites are music favorites. The first is the song Holy Mountain by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. This song came out of nowhere, it popped up randomly on my Spotify and I’m happy I did it. This was my first Noel Gallagher experience and because I liked this one so much I’ve been having a little look through his music and finding songs I quite like. The song Rattling Rose from his new album Black Star Dancing is a great listen.

My second music favorite is The Doobie Brothers Live from the Beacon Theater. This concert was recorded in November of 2018, the first time in 25 years they had played there and this concert is special because they played their albums Toulouse Street and The Captain and Me. PBS showed a handful of the concert recently and it was great. I know The Captain and Me pretty well but I only knew a couple songs from Toulouse Street so it’s been great to hear some of these songs for the first time. I did preorder the 2CD set and the Blu-ray, the 2CD, DVD and 2CD + DVD is being released on June 28th and the Blu-ray on July 12th. So I’m really excited to watch and listen to the full concert and I highly recommend giving it a watch/listen.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we had any of the same favorites this month let me know and if not I’d love to know what your June favorites were.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope you had a great June :).

Earfleek Review

Hi everyone,

Happy Friday! Today I’m going to be continuing my ‘trying new subscription boxes/services in 2019’ series. This time it’s Earfleek. Earfleek is an earring subscription and each month you get a new pair of earrings. There are two tiers which you can choose from, the first is the normal subscription and it’s $3.49 a month and the second is Premiere which is $9.93 a month but you get free shipping with both. They both have the same four categories you can pick from, Silly & Fun, Minimalist But Groovy, Boho Babe and I Don’t Give A Hoot (which is a mix of all three). With the premiere tier they say you get earrings that have more pop, color and personality but no matter what the earrings are nickel free. I wanted to try this out because I had heard about it and was half interested, because I love a good pair of earrings, and half skeptical of what the quality would be because of the price.

So when I signed up I did the normal subscription and chose I Don’t Give A Hoot because I liked the chance to try everything. It was delivered quickly and I quite like the packaging. It comes in a little envelope that is pop art style. This one has blue polka dots and says “Fashion is more art than art is” – Andy Warhol.

When you open the envelope you pull out a card that is folded in half and has the earrings sitting in it. I think this is a smart thing to do because this card in particular has a bunch of contact information for the brand on it but because it’s pretty sturdy cardstock and the earrings are wrapped in a little sheet of bubble wrap, it eliminates the need for any crazy packaging. It can just be little and cute which totally matches the brand.

EF3

When you take the earrings out of the bubble wrap they’re in a little plastic resealable pouch and the ends of the earrings are stuck in a little piece of rubber so they don’t move around.

EF4

Now, the earrings themselves I absolutely love. They’re rose gold stick style earrings and they’re about an inch and a half long. I love how simple they are but they also bring a little pop to a look without being over the top. I have worn these and they’re really light, which I appreciate. And quality wise they feel solid.

That about wraps it up for this post, overall I enjoyed my Earfleek experience and I would do it again.

Until next time, you can never have too many pairs of earrings and what subscription box should I try next? 🙂
