Blogmas Day Twelve: Christmas Day Makeup

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day Twelve! I can’t believe we’re already at the end of Blogmas, it truly flew by. For Day Twelve I thought I would share with you guys what my Christmas Day makeup is going to look like. I usually mention it every year, and this year it took me a little while to decide what I wanted to do. I like to do a little glam but not full glam for Christmas Day because we have a very relaxing day and chill in our lounge wear and I’m happy with what I came up with.

The first thing I did for this look was prime my face with the Smashbox The Original Photo Finish Smooth & Blur Primer. Then I applied my Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless Foundation in 205, Ivory, my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 5, Ivory and set everything with the Ofra Pressed Banana Powder.

IMG_0127

For the rest of my face, I first bronzed with the Nars Laguna Bronzer. Then I applied the e.l.f. Bite Size Face Duo Blush in Lychee and highlighted with the Too Faced Angel Kisses Highlighter.

IMG_0130

For my eyes, the first thing I did was prime them with the Ace Beaute Eyeshadow Amplifying Base in Light. Then I went into the Violet Voss Violet Sunset Palette and the first shadow I used was Desert Sand. I took that and put it in the crease. Then I took Amber Sky and also put that in the crease, making sure to blend well. I then took Dusk and packed on the outer corner of my eye. For the rest of my lid I went into the Too Faced Christmas Cookie House Party Palette and applied the shade Snow Fake. I then took Dusk and ran it about halfway under my eye and for the other half and into the inner corner of my eye, I applied Snow Fake. I lined my eyes with the BellaPierre Cosmetics Liquid Eyeliner in Black and topped it off with the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. For my lips, I lined them with the Model Co Lip Enhancer Illusion Lip Liner Pencil and filled them in with the MAC Matte Lipstick in Russian Red. I set the whole look with the Maven Beauty Rose Water Setting Spray

(Note: I do know that the photo formatted slightly weird, but I’m leaving it)

That about wraps it up for this post, I want to thank everyone for reading along this Blogmas, I had such a great time doing it. It’s always one of my favorite things to do. If you guys have figured out your Christmas Day makeup I’d love to know what you’re going to do and if you go makeup free on Christmas Day let me know that too, I’m always interested in what people do.

Until next time, have fun creating different looks and I hope you all have a fantastic Christmas :).

Blogmas Day Eleven: BoxyCharm, A Year In Review

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day Eleven! Today I’m going to be doing a BoxyCharm Year In Review. I got a lot of great boxes this year and had a ton of favorite products, so I thought it would be good to put them all together and share what I really loved.

January:

The January box was a strong start to the year, and my favorite from this box was the Ace Beaute Bronzed In Paradise Palette. It didn’t feature in any of my recent looks posts, but I do like it and I do use it, it tends to fall to the back of my bronzer drawer, so I need to make a spot for it towards the front.

February:

Ace Beaute made a really great impression in BoxyCharm this year, at least for me, and one of the things I loved in February was the Ace Beaute Nostalgia Palette. I use this all the time, I think it’s a super fun and versatile palette, in fact I talked about it in yesterday’s post. The other thing I loved in February was the Wander Beauty Double Date Lip & Cheek in Rendezvous/Swipe. I use Rendezvous solely as a lip product and I like it a lot. It’s a very pretty shade of pink.

March:

The March box had three items in it that I either loved already or have become staples in my makeup collection. The first of which is the Lime Crime Venus III Palette. This palette is super cute, it has some super pretty shadows in it and I love the versatility it affords. Then there’s the Too Faced Damn Girl Mascara which I’ve loved pretty much since it came out, it’s so good and always does my lashes good. The last product is one that I was initially unsure of because I don’t love rose in beauty and skincare products, but it’s turned into one of my favorites and it’s the Maven Beauty Rose Water Setting Spray. This locks in your makeup and you don’t feel sticky. Because of the rose water, it’s actually kinda refreshing.

April:

In April I received the Flirtacious Looks Monarch Lash Pack and these lashes are SO good! It came with two pairs, Baby Girl, an angled lash and Charmer, a round lash. The second thing I loved from the April box is the Eloise Beauty Get Gleaming Body Glow Illuminator in Champagne Rich. I used this a lot during the summer and it gives a great glow but is also buildable so you can have your desired level of glow.

May:

The May box saw me receiving two things that I have since repurchased and have talked about so many times since. The first is the Sophia + Mabelle Hydrating Hybrid Lipstick in Topless. This is a nude lipstick with the hydration of a balm and it’s so, so good. I honestly recommend, especially if you’re a nude lipstick fan. The second is the Murad City Skin Overnight Detox Moisturizer. I mentioned this in my Winter Skincare post and it’s an excellent moisturizer because it not only moisturizes, but it protects against blue light which is perfect for me because I do spend a bit of time on my computer. My skin definitely likes Murad.

June:

The June box had two things that very much screamed summer to me, a bright lipstick and glowy skin. The bright lipstick came in the form of the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Famous Red, which has become a go to of mine in my red lipstick collection. The glowy skin came from the Touch In Sol Pretty Filter Glowdient Palette, I talk about this all the time, you guys know how much I love it.

July:

In July I got a great mix of great makeup and skincare. The Ofra Mini Mix Palette in Good To Go is something I already loved, so when I saw it was a choice item for July I picked it and it turned out to be a great choice because I just hit pan on the bronzer and because these are magnetic pans, I can just swap out the new and old ones. The BellaPierre Cosmetics Liquid Eyeliner in Black has become something I reach for a lot in my eyeliner drawer and I like it a lot, you have a lot of flexibility so you can do the thin precise line or you can do a thick and dramatic wing. On the skincare side, this is when I got the Mudmasky Vitamin Infused Eye Serum, I also talked about this in my Winter Skincare post and I love it, I can see a difference since I started using it.

August:

The August box featured what as become a go to eyeshadow palette for me, the Dito Cosmetics Venus Palette. I used this palette a lot during college football season and when I did my gold eye look for yesterday’s post, this is what I used to do it. I’m also a space nerd, so that made this palette extra fun for me. My second August favorite is the Volition Hibiscus Unspottable Correcting Oil. I have a couple of dark spots on my face, and this has helped tremendously, it’s a great product. Definitely recommend it you’re looking to get rid of any dark spots.

September:

I’m gonna be honest, this was not my favorite box of the year. I did and do like the GlamGlow YouthMud Glow Stimulating Treatment. This is the OG GlamGlow product that made it what it is today and when you use it you can see why. Obviously the more you use it, the more results you see, but when in the 10 or so minutes you have it on, you can tell a difference. The exfoliating properties give you smooth, glowy and soft skin. The other thing I liked in this box is the Half Caked 813, Duo Fiber Brush. I use this for blush, and it gives you an airbrushed finish. It’s also super soft and I like the colors, I don’t have a lot of brushes in this color.

IMG_9303

IMG_9314

October:

The October box was fantastic. I feel like as we got closer to the end of the year, the boxes got better and better. I’ve talked about this palette a number of times since getting it, but the October box gave me the Ace Beaute Falling For You Palette and I still love it so much. I used it yesterday and it’s still great, the color range, the mix of mattes and shimmer, the color payoff and the formulation are all top notch. This box gave me something I had never tried before, and that was the Appeal Cosmetics Adhesive Liner. I’ve worn this a few times and I do like it, I find it to be quicker and easier than messing around with lash glue, and we all know how much of a mess that can be. I also received a set of lashes that I love, they’re from Camara Aunique Beauty and they’re the Mary Lash. They do give you volume and that oomph that you want from a false lash, but it’s very natural. The last thing in this box that I love is the Tresluce Beauty Like An Artista 4 Piece Brush Set. I know that at the time I received this set the brand was fairly new, but for a new brand they seriously smashed it with the brushes. They’re all super soft, blend nicely and they’re nice to grip.

November:

In November I genuinely loved everything in the box, and I don’t know if that’s happened in the time I’ve been doing BoxyCharm. It started with the Ace Beaute Eyeshadow Amplifying Base in Light, I talk about this all the time, it makes your shadow last all day and it amplifies both mattes and shimmers without being too sticky and tacky. Then we have the Violet Voss Violet Sunset Palette. For being a smaller palette it has a lot of versatility and the colors are so, so pretty. I’ve been using this a lot recently. The Hanalei Beauty Company Matte Bronzer is one that has quickly made it’s way into the front of my bronzer drawer, I love that it’s on the lighter side so you can build it up as much as you want and you get that nice Hawaiian glow. The Luxie Pautips Por La Noche Brush Set was nice to see because I really like Luxie brushes and this came with a cute little pouch which is currently holding these brushes and all the random single brushes I had. The last product in this box is the Bodyography Makeup Brush Cleanser. I used this recently when I cleaned by brushes and having it in the spray bottle was so much quicker and easier and I feel like it didn’t take as much to clean them as it usually does.

December:

I won’t be revealing my thoughts and favorites from the December box in this post, but I will be doing so in my monthly favorites like I always do.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we had any of the same overall Boxy favorites let me know and if not, I’d love to know what you loved from BoxyCharm this year.

Until next time, enjoy your products, I can’t believe Blogmas is almost over and I can’t wait to see what I get next year in BoxyCharm :).

Blogmas Day Ten: Holiday Makeup Looks

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day Ten! Today I thought it would be fun to share some festive makeup looks that I’ve done during December. This is in the style of my Recent Looks posts and you know I always love to do those. For these looks I wanted a theme, so I went with festive colors and decided on green, red, gold and silver.

The first look I did was the green one and this has very Christmas tree/Grinch vibes depending on how you want to look at it, but I really love how this came out and it was fun to play around with green because I don’t always do that. The first thing I did was prime my face and to do that I used the Smashbox The Original Photo Finish Smooth & Blur Primer. Then I applied my Covergirl & Olay Simply Ageless Foundation in 205, Ivory, my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 5, Ivory and I set everything with the Ofra Pressed Banana Powder.

IMG_0096

For the rest of my face, the first thing I did was bronze using the Hanalei Beauty Company Matte Bronzer. I then used the e.l.f. Bite Size Face Duo Blush in Lychee and highlighted with a mix of the first two shades from the Touch In Sol Pretty Filter Glowdient Palette

IMG_0098

IMG_0105

For my eyes, the first thing I did was prime using the Ace Beaute Eyeshadow Amplifying Base in Light. Then I went into the Anastasia Beverly Hills/Norvina Mini Pro Pigment Vol 2 Palette and put the light green shadow from the top row, middle, in the crease. Then I went into the Ace Beaute Nostalgia Palette and packed the shade Theme Park on the outer corner of my eye, into the crease a little, and onto the lid a little more than I normally would. I then went back to the Vol 2 palette and took the green shimmer from the bottom row, middle, putting it on the rest of my lid. I then took Theme Park and ran it about 3/4 of the way under my eye, putting the green shimmer the other 1/4 of the way and into the inner corner of my eye. I lined my eyes with the KVD Tattoo Liner in Trooper and topped it off with the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. For my lips I lined them with the Model Co Lip Enhancer Illusion Lip Liner Pencil and filled them in with the MAC Matte Lipstick in Russian Red. I set the whole look with the Maven Beauty Rose Water Setting Spray

For the red look I went for candy cane vibes without being super candy cane and I really like how it turned out. The first thing I did was prime my face with the Smashbox The Original Photo Finish Smooth & Blur Primer. Then I applied my Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless Primer in 205, Ivory, my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 5, Ivory and I set everything with the Ofra Pressed Banana Powder.

IMG_0096

For the rest of my face, I used the Ofra Mini Mix Palette in Good To Go. I first bronzed with the Current Bronzer. I then applied the Intentions Blush and highlighted with a mix of the top and bottom shades from the All of the Lights Highlighter.

IMG_0100

IMG_0107

For my eyes, the first thing I did was prime using the Ace Beaute Eyeshadow Amplifying Base in Light. Then I went into the Ace Beaute Nostalgia Palette and took the shade Camping and packed it onto the outer corner of my eye and the inner corner of my eye, bringing it into the crease in both cases, and left a space in the middle of my lid. To fill that middle space I went into the Zoeva Cocoa Blend Palette and used the shade Bitter Start. I then took Camping and brought it about 3/4 of the way under my eye and for the rest and in the inner corner I applied Bitter Start. I lined my eyes with the BellaPierre Cosmetics Liquid Eyeliner in Black and topped it off with the Sephora Collection LashCraft Big Volume Mascara. For my lips, I lined them with the Model Co Lip Enhancer Illusion Lip Liner Pencil and filled them in with a mix of the MAC Matte Lipstick in Red Rock and the Sephora Collection #LipStories Lipstick in 23 Cabin Fever/After Hours. I set the whole look with the Maven Beauty Rose Water Setting Spray.

The second to last look, the gold look, is one that if you red my Dito Cosmetics post or follow me on Instagram you would have seen because I did it quite a bit during college football season. The first thing I did was prime my face using the Smashbox The Original Photo Finish Smooth & Blur Primer. Then I applied the Covergirl & Olay Simply Ageless Foundation in 205, Ivory, my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 5, Ivory and I set everything with the Ofra Pressed Banana Powder.

IMG_0096

For the rest of my face, I first bronzed with the Too Faced Extra Toasty Bronzer. I then applied the Too Faced Daydreamer Blush and the Too Faced Angel Kisses Highlighter.

IMG_0109

For my eyes, the first thing I did was prime them using the Ace Beaute Eyeshadow Amplifying Base in Light. Then I went into the Dito Cosmetics Venus Palette and took Phobos and put it in the crease, making sure to blend it. For the rest of my lid I applied the shade Jupiter. I then took Phobos and put it about 3/4 of the way under my eye and for other 1/4 and in the inner corner of my eye I applied Jupiter. I lined my eyes with the KVD Tattoo Liner in Trooper and topped it off with the Too Faced Damn Girl Mascara. For my lips, I lined them with the Model Co Lip Enhancer Illusion Lip Liner Pencil and filled them in with the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Famous Red. I set the whole look with the Maven Beauty Rose Water Setting Spray.

For the last look, the silver look, I wore this for a neighborhood Christmas party so I wanted to be more glam and I love this one. It’s so cute. The first thing I did was prime my face with the Smashbox The Original Photo Finish Smooth & Blur Primer. Then I applied the Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless Foundation in 205, Ivory, my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 5, Ivory and I set everything with the Too Faced Peach Perfect Mattifying Loose Setting Powder in Translucent Peach

IMG_0097

For the rest of my face, I first bronzed with the Hanalei Beauty Company Matte Bronzer. Then I applied the e.l.f. Bite Size Face Duo Blush in Lychee and highlighted with a mix of the first two shades in the Touch In Sol Pretty Filter Glowdient Palette.

IMG_0105 (1)

For my eyes, the first thing I did was prime them with the Ace Beaute Eyeshadow Amplifying Base in Light. Then I went into the Anastasia Beverly Hills Sultry Palette. I took the shade Slate and put that in the crease, then I took Noir and packed that onto the outer corner of my eye, bringing it into the crease just a little bit. For the rest of my lid I applied Cyborg. I then took Noir and put it about halfway under my eye, then I took Cyborg and put it the rest of the way. For the inner corner of my eye I wanted a little bit of brightness, so I applied the shade Pearl. I lined my eyes with the KVD Tattoo Liner in Trooper and topped it off with the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. For my lips, I lined them with the Model Co Lip Enhancer Illusion Lip Liner Pencil and filled them in with the MAC Matte lipstick in Russian Red. I set the whole look with the Maven Beauty Rose Water Setting Spray.

Blogmas Day Seven: What Makes This Movie Great, It’s A Wonderful Life

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day Seven! Today we’re going to be talking about Christmas movies and more specifically It’s A Wonderful Life.

It's a Wonderful Life - Where to Watch and Stream - TV Guide

If you’re unfamiliar with it, it’s a 1946 film with Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed, directed by Frank Capra. The basis of the movie is George Bailey (Stewart) gives up his personal dreams to help his community, comes upon some issues and hard times and jumps off a bridge. He’s saved by an angel, his guardian angel, who is trying to get his wings and that angel, Clarence, then shows George what the town and the lives of his friends and family would be like if he hadn’t been born at all and didn’t exist. George seeing this, realizes that he wants things to go back to normal and that things are pretty damn great.

It’s such an incredible movie overall. It’s tradition in my family that on Christmas Eve we all go to my parents house, have dinner and watch this movie, so I’ve been watching it since before I can remember.

There’s so many quotable moments from it and it truly never gets old. They do have both black and white and color versions of it available now, but having watched both, I can tell you that the black and white is so much better. It really brings home the classic and nostalgic feel.

I mentioned that it’s tradition in my family to watch this movie on Christmas Eve, but the thing to that is no one watches it any other time. It does come on TV around this time but we all hold off so we can watch it together and have it truly be a once a year thing. Also the commentary that inevitably happens is more fun and funny if it’s the first time in a year that everyone has seen it.

There are obviously a ton of great movies to watch during the season, but this one, for me, really makes it feel like Christmas and gives me all the cozy feels.

That about wraps it up for this post, if you guys have any similar movie traditions let me know what you watch and if not I’d love to know what your Christmas Eve traditions are.

Until next time, have fun watching movies, I’m glad you’re enjoying Blogmas and invest in the plastics George :).

Blogmas Day Six: Winter Bodycare Routine

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day Six! I can’t believe that we’re already halfway through, it truly has been flying by. Today I thought it would be fun, because I just did my winter skincare routine, to share my winter bodycare routine.

For winter I really ramp it up because winter can be so drying for the skin and let’s be honest, that’s the worst. So the first thing I use, is something that I’ve been using for a really long time, and it’s the Bath and Body Works Ultimate Hydration Body Cream in Warm Vanilla Sugar. It’s one of my favorite Bath and Body Works scents and has been for a while. This has Hyaluronic Acid and Shea Butter, Hyaluronic Acid attracts water which brings in moisture and Shea Butter is also super hydrating. This has a really creamy and slightly thicker consistency which I like for winter. It also says it delivers 24 hour hydration. I definitely recommend the Ultimate Hydration Creams.

Warm Vanilla Sugar Ultimate Hydration Body Cream

The next thing I use for body is the Sol de Janeiro Coco Cabana Intense Hydration Body Cream. The Sol de Janeiro creams are some of my absolute favorite. This one is has a really nice feel, it sinks in super quick and leaves your skin feeling super soft. It has a mix of Coconut Oil, Cupuacu Butter and a CocoSugar Blend. It also smells incredible, it does have that tropical coconut scent but it also has really warm and toasty notes. It’s so good.

Sol de Janeiro - Coco Cabana Intense Hydration Body Cream 8.1 oz/ 240 mL

The next product I use, I use for my hands and my feet and it’s the Jergens Ultra Healing Lotion. This one I’ve also been using for a while and I really like it. I feel like people always forget that feet need to be moisturized too but they definitely do. I also use this for my hands because my hands so tend to get dry during the winter and this has Vitamins C, E and B5 so it’s super hydrating and does a great job of combating any dryness.

Jergens Ultra Healing Lotion - image 1 of 8

The last product I use for bodycare I also use for my hands and it’s the Mario Badescu Hydrating Hand Cream. I got a little sample of this with an order I placed and I liked it so I bought a little bottle that I keep in my handbag. It has Hyaluronic Acid as well as a mix of Peppermint, Thyme and Yarrow Extract which helps to revitalize the skin. It also has a super lightweight formula and sinks into the skin super quick. I definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a good hand cream.

Amazon.com: Mario Badescu Hydrating Hand Cream, 4 Fl Oz : Beauty & Personal Care

That about wraps it up for this post, if we use any of the same products for bodycare let me know and if not I’d love to know what you do use.

Until next time, have fun with your bodycare routine and I can’t believe we’re halfway through Blogmas :).

Blogmas Day Five: Christmas Tree and Decoration Spotlight

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day Five! Today I thought it would be fun to show you guys my tree this year and to talk about decorating.

I think you guys know this, but if you don’t, I have a real tree. There’s a local tree fam that I go to that I love. I found it a couple years ago after the one that I used to go to stopped being in the Christmas tree game and since then I haven’t gotten a tree that I didn’t absolutely love. The care they take and the way they shape their trees is top notch. I really like the tree I got this year, it’s the perfect fit and it smells amazing.

IMG_9908

I don’t have any new ornaments this year, and I can’t remember if I mentioned it last year, but I got a new tree topper. The other star I had quit working, so I found this one and I like it a lot. It adds a nice little pop of color to the top and it ties in perfectly with the lights, because as you guys know, I do my tree in multicolored lights. I also have to get a new tree skirt because mine ripped when I was putting it away, so if you have any recommendations of a good place to get one, let me know!

IMG_9973

Another thing I wanted to share is a new decoration I got this year. I’m always looking to add more or update decorations and this year I was really looking at window lights. I found the cutest light and let’s be honest, most perfect for me. I love all the little details. The snow on the tires, the ‘Happy Holidays’ on the tree. So cute!

IMG_9856

That about wraps it up for this post, if you guys got any new decorations this year I’d love to know what and I’d love to see what your trees look this year.

Until next time, have fun decorating and I hope you’re enjoying Blogmas :).

Blogmas Day Four: Christmas Nails

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day Four! Today I’m going to talking about my Christmas nails but this year it’s a little different. If you’ve read Blogmas in the past then you know that typically when I talk about Christmas nails it’s because I’ve done a different festive manicure each week throughout the month, but this year that’s not the case.

I was doing a different manicure every week/two weeks throughout the year in general and it was really starting to take a toll on my nails. So for about 6-ish months I didn’t do anything with my nails except let them grow and maintain them and it really helped. They’re much healthier and back to looking how they should.

What I’ve been doing now that I’m back to polish is doing one for the whole month. If it chips I do fix it, but beyond that it’s one for the month and I can see the difference in my nails. They’re still super healthy and look great which I’m happy about.

When it came to deciding what I wanted to do for my Christmas nails this year I went and looked at the designs I had done in the past and drew inspiration from that.

What I did was red with silver sparkles. To do that I used the Sinful Colors 852, GoGo Girl red on all but one finger. For the silver I used the Sinful Colors 923, Queen of Beauty and put that on the remaining finger. I sealed it with the Pure Ice High Shine Top Coat 1025.

IMG_9963

IMG_9964

I haven’t done nails with the one that’s different in so long, so it was kinda fun to do it again. I always like the extra pop it brings and overall I’m really happy that I went with this look.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we did similar Christmas nail designs let me know and if not I’d love to know what you Christmas nails look like.

Until next time, have fun doing your nails and I’m glad you’re enjoying Blogmas :).

Blogmas Day Three: Winter Skincare Routine

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day Three! Today I thought it would be fun to share my winter skincare routine with you guys. I used to do a skincare routine post every season because I was changing and trying new products all the time, but my skin got very mad at me for doing that. I had to strip it back to very few things and once that started working I added a few things here and there and that’s where I’m at with it right now.

So the first thing I do is take off my eye makeup and lipstick and to do that I used the Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover for Lids, Lashes and Lips. This is a product I’ve been using for ages and I really like it. It has a gentle formula but it’s super effective so you’re not scrubbing and accidently ripping out your lashes.

CLINIQUE - Take The Day Off Makeup Remover For Lids, Lashes & Lips 4.2 oz/ 125 mL

The next thing I do is take off the rest of my makeup with the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Deep Dive Cleansing Gel. I’ve also been using this for a really long time and I still like it a lot. It takes off all of the long wearing makeup and doesn’t leave anything behind.

tarte - SEA Deep Dive Cleansing Gel 5 oz/ 150 mL Clean at Sephora

From there I move to the Volition Hibiscus Unspottable Correcting Oil. This is to help reduce the appearance of dark spots and discoloration along with hydrating and helping with moisture retention. I have a couple of dark spots and I can honestly say that this has helped tremendously with getting them to go away. I’m a little weary sometimes of correcting oils and such because I have used some that have done nothing, but this is not one of those. This is one I highly recommend.

Volition Beauty - Hibiscus Unspottable Correcting Oil 1.1 oz/ 35 mL Clean at Sephora

The next step in my routine is serum and for that I use the Mine Tan. Body. Skin. Hydra Glow Sleep Serum with Triple Action Hyaluronic Acid. This serum is so good! It’s fast absorbing, it’s incredibly lightweight and says it’s anti-inflammatory. Because it’s a triple action Hyaluronic Acid you get the instant hydration but it’s also time release so you get that as you sleep giving you hydrated and glowy skin in the morning.

MineTan Body Skin Hydra Glow Sleep Serum Mine Skincare

After serum comes moisturizer and for that I use the Murad City Skin Overnight Detox Moisturizer. This is more than just your standard moisturizer. It does have nourishing botanicals to moisturize and plump while helping to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, but it also detoxifies the skin by neutralizing daily damage caused by pollutants and blue light. Which I really like because I spend a lot of time on my computer. This is also a slightly thicker consistency, which I like for winter and the colder months.

The second to last thing I do is eye cream. I’ve been using two as of late. The first is one that I’ve been using for a while and really like, the Murad Hyrdo-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture for Eyes. This deeply quenches and nourishes the under eye area, seals in moisture to restore smoothness and helps to reduce fine line and wrinkles along with dull and dry skin. The second is the Mudmasky Vitamin Infused Eye Serum. This has Vitamin C which is very refreshing and has an antioxidant effect. This also feeds, nourishes and firms the skin under the eye along with giving a vitamin boost and moisture boost. I like it a lot.

And the last thing I do is apply a lip product. Right now, and for a bit, my go to lip product has been the eos Natural & Organic Lip Balm Stick in Sweet Mint. I find the eos lip balms to be super hydrating and this one smells really good.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we use any of the same products in our winter skincare routines let me know and if not I’d love to know what products you do use.

Until next time, enjoy doing your skincare routine and I’m glad you’re all liking Blogmas :).

Blogmas Day Two: Gary Barlow Christmas Album Review

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day Two! Today we’re going to be taking a look, doing a little review of a new Christmas album, The Dream of Christmas by Gary Barlow.

I really like the album cover, it’s got that very Gary Barlow mix of being classy and in this case obviously Christmas without being over the top. This came out at the end of November, so I’ve had the chance to listen to it fully a couple of times. The track listing reads as such;

1). The Dream of Christmas

2). Sleigh Ride

3). Wonderful Christmastime

4). How Christmas is supposed to be (featuring Sheridan Smith)

5). This Christmas

6). Come on Christmas

7). My Dear Acquaintance

8). Winter Wonderland (featuring the Puppini Sisters)

9). The Colder It Feels (featuring Sheku Kanneh-Mason)

10). Merry Christmas Everyone

11). A Child’s Christmas in Wales (featuring Aled Jones)

The deluxe version has the following five songs as well;

12). I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm

13). I Believe in Father Christmas

14). In the Bleak Midwinter

15). It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

16). Christmas Sweater

With this album Gary does a great job of not falling into what some artists do when they do Christmas which is to do the songs with just a little bit of their personality attached to it. This is very much a Gary Barlow Christmas album. The arrangements are unique and give some of these songs a new perspective. The arrangement he did on Merry Christmas Everyone is incredible, it’s so soulful and beautiful.

The original songs are brilliant in my opinion. I think Christmas Sweater is my favorite, it’s really fun and so far everyone I’ve played it for has liked it a lot. I think there’s also something to be said for How Christmas Is Supposed to Be, the video is super cute and it really touches on how stressful the holidays can be and to remember to enjoy it and have fun.

Overall I’m glad Gary decided to do this album. If you are a fan of Take That and haven’t listened to much of his solo music you will like this and if you’re a fan of his in general you’ll really like this. I definitely recommend giving it a listen if you haven’t, it will make you feel super festive.

That about wraps it up for this post, if you’ve listened to this album I’d love to know what your thoughts are and what your favorite song/songs are.

Until next time, have fun listening to Christmas music and I’m glad you’re all enjoying Blogmas :).

Blogmas Day One: Three Recent Looks, Violet Voss Violet Sunset Palette

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Day One of the Twelve Days of Blogmas! I’m super excited to be doing Blogmas again, it’s one of my favorite things to do during December and I’m glad you guys like it too. So we’re going to start off with one of my favorite types of post, a Three Recent Looks and we’re doing it with the Violet Voss Violet Sunset Palette. Though this isn’t a super Christmassy palette, I figured it a good thing to start with because the sunsets you get during winter and the Christmas season can be pretty spectacular and this palette embodies that.

A little info, this is a 10 pan palette with a mix of mattes, shimmers and metallics. It’s a very versatile palette with a great formulation and excellent color payoff. I’m having a lot of fun playing around with it.

For the first look, I went with something very simple. When I first got it and I was looking for some info I went to the Violet Voss website and saw some of the sample looks they had done and wanted to recreate one. Overall I’m happy with how it turned out. The first thing I did was prime my face using the GlamGlow Glowstarter in Nude Glow. Then I applied my Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless Foundation in 205, Ivory, my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 5, Ivory and I set everything with the Too Faced Peach Perfect Mattifying Loose Setting Powder in Translucent Peach Whisper.

For the rest of my face the first thing I did was bronze using the Hanalei Beauty Company Matte Bronzer, this really has come one of my go to products since receiving it. Then I applied the Too Faced Makeup & Be Merry Blush and Too Faced Angel Kisses Highlighter.

For my eyes the first thing I did was prime them using the Ace Beaute Eyeshadow Amplifying Base in Light. Then I went into the palette and took Lilac and applied it all over my lid and that was it. I rarely do just one shadow on my eyes these days, but I wanted to really test it out. I then took a little bit of Lilac and put it under my eye as well 3/4 of the way and for the rest and the inner corner of my eye I applied Vanilla. I lined my eyes with the BellaPierre Cosmetics Liquid Eyeliner in Black and topped it off with the Sephora Collection LashCraft Big Volume Mascara. For my lips I applied the Sephora Collection #LipStories Lipstick in 36 Spring Break and I set the whole look with the Maven Beauty Rose Water Setting Spray

For the second look I wanted to play with the neutrals in the palette and I think this might be my favorite look that I’ve done with it. I’ve recreated it a couple times since and you might be able to tell that between the first picture and the second I got a new phone so the photo quality is better. The first thing I did was prime my face with the GlamGlow Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer in Nude Glow. Then I applied my Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless Foundation in 250, Ivory, my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 5, Ivory and I set everything with the Ofra Pressed Banana Powder

For the rest of my face the first thing I did was bronze using the Nars Laguna Bronzer, then I applied blush from the e.l.f. Bite Size Face Duo in Lychee and I highlighted with a combination of the first two shades from the Touch In Sol Pretty Filter Glowdient Palette

For my eyes the first thing I did was prime them using the Ace Beaute Eyeshadow Amplifying Base in Light. Then I went into the palette and took Desert Sand, putting it in the crease. Then I took Amber Sky and did a light layer of that in the crease as well, making sure to blend it well. I then took Dusk and packed that on the outer corner of my eye and took it into the crease just a bit. For the rest of my lid I applied Champagne and mixed it with a little bit of Peach. I took Dusk and put that under my eye about halfway and for the other half and in the inner corner of my eye, I applied a mix of Champagne and Peach. I lined my eyes with the BellaPierre Cosmetics Liquid Eyeliner in Black and topped it off with the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. For my lips, I lined them with the Model Co Lip Enhancer Illusion Lip Liner Pencil and filled them in with the Sophia + Mabelle Hydrating Hybrid Lipstick in Topless. I set the whole look with the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray

For the third look I wanted to do something really fun and sparkly so that’s what I did and I think it’s a fun look. The first thing I did was prime my face with the Smashbox The Original Photo Finish Smooth and Blur Primer. I got a sample of this in a Sephora order recently and forgot how much I like it. I’m definitely going to have to repurchase. Then I applied my Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless Foundation in 205, Ivory, my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 5, Ivory and I set it with the Too Faced Peach Perfect Mattifying Loose Setting Powder in Translucent Peach Whisper.

For the rest of my face I bronzed with the Hanalei Beauty Company Matte Bronzer, then I applied the blush from the e.l.f. Bite Size Face Duo in Lychee and highlighted with a combination of the first and third shades from the Touch In Sol Glowdient Palette.

For my eyes the first thing I did was prime them with the Ace Beaute Eyeshadow Amplifying Base in Light. Then I went into the palette and took Sunset and put that in the crease. I then took Blush and put that in the crease as well, making sure to blend them. For the rest of my lid I applied Violet Sunset. I took a mix of Sunset and Blush and put that about 3/4 of the way under my eye and for the rest and in the inner corner of my eye, applied Violet Sunset. I lined my eyes with the KVD Tattoo Liner and topped it off with the Sephora Collection LashCraft Big Volume Mascara. For my lips I applied the Wander Beauty Double Date Lip & Cheek in Rendezvous and I set the whole look with the Maven Beauty Rose Water Setting Spray.

Excuse the fact that there’s no picture. It was formatting really weird for some reason but there is one on my Instagram.

That about wraps it up for this post, I always really like doing this type of post so look out for more in the future.

Until next time, you can never have too many eyeshadow palettes and welcome to Blogmas :).
