September favorites

Hi everyone,

Happy October! I’m a couple of days late, but today I’m going to be doing my September favorites. I have a pretty good mix of things to talk about, so let’s get into it.

First up we have beauty, I have a couple favorites from my September Sephora Play Box and I will link that below if you haven’t read it. First up we have the Sephora LashCraft Big Volume Mascara in Black. I really like this mascara, it goes on smooth, doesn’t clump and makes my lashes look really full. I would definitely say to check this out if you’re looking for a new mascara.

SSP2

Next we have the Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer. This has coconut water and other energizing and replenishing ingredients and it holds up to it’s name. Just a little bit gives you a bright and dewy face and a great canvas for your makeup or to just go about your day.

SSP6

My last beauty favorite is the Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner Matte Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner in (Earth)Quake. This is a dark chocolatey brown eyeliner, which I love because it not only will go with a ton of different looks but I have green eyes and browns really make them pop. The first time I wore this was a day when I was doing dirty work because I wanted to see how it would stand up and I was impressed. It’s long lasting and it doesn’t smudge. It definitely rates high with me.

SSP4

SSP5

My next favorite is a food favorite and it’s Pepperidge Farm Pirouettes. If you don’t know what these are, they’re crème filled rolled wafers. I was in the grocery store, saw these and had to get them. I hadn’t had these in at least ten years and I always remember eating them around this time of year with hot chocolate, so I thought why not. And I honestly wanted to see if they were as good as I thought. I bought the French Vanilla and they were so good.

Moving on, I have a TV show favorite and it’s the X Factor UK. Out of all the singing competition shows this one is definitely my favorite. This season they have a new crop of judges, Simon Cowell, Louis Tomlinson, Ayda Williams and Robbie Williams and I’m loving it. Sometimes when a show brings on new people it doesn’t really flow or it takes a while but I think this really works and it was a good choice. If any of you are watching let me know what you think and who you’re loving. There’s a lot of talent this season.

And lastly I have some music favorites. The first is Paul McCartney’s newest album Egypt Station. I talked about this before it came out because I was loving the singles and it did not disappoint. Top to bottom it’s a fantastic album and I can’t choose just one song that’s my favorite.

My second music favorite is Take That Odyssey. Take That is celebrating their 30th anniversary and to celebrate they are going on tour and releasing a new album titled Odyssey . It has some of classic and fan favorite songs, some that have been revamped and a couple new ones. So far they have released the Odyssey version of Pray, which is one of my favorite Take That songs, and it’s absolutely beautiful. Gary Barlow’s vocals are just incredible.

And my last music favorite is Peaches and Diesel by Eric Clapton. This song is from the Slowhand album, which is for sure one of my favorite EC albums. When I heard it it made me stop what I was doing and really listen, you know those songs that just have that effect on you, and I love every minute of it. I would one million percent say to go and listen to it and everything else that I mentioned. They’re all on YouTube and iTunes.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we had any of the same September favorites let me know and if not I’d love to know what your favorites were.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope you all had a great September :).

September Sephora Play unboxing

Hi everyone,

Today I’m going to going through my September Sephora Play Box. I received it on Friday and thought that today would be a great day to share it with you guys. The theme this month is Next Gen Beauty, which means the bags are filled with innovative products. I think it’s a really cool theme. The bag for this month is one that I find to be very unique and I like it a lot. This bag is a reusable plastic bag that you snap to close, it’s like a Ziploc. The front is red and see through with various different designs on it and ‘Play!’ written in the middle. The back is white and it says *Opens bag* *Pours out samples* *High fives self* in red.

SSP1

The first product we have is the Clinique Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly. This is a water based jelly that is supposed to help to lock in moisture, protect you skin from pollutants and leave you with smooth and hydrated skin. I’ve never used a jelly like this before, so I’m interested to see what it’s going to do.

SSP3

Next we have the Olehenriksen Truth Serum. This is a Vitamin C serum with orange and green tea extracts along with aloe juice. You put this on before your moisturizer and it’s supposed to hydrate and brighten you skin. I do like using serums, so I’m excited to try this one and the orange smell reminds me of these vitamin c tablets my parents bought when I was a kid so it’s completely nostalgic.

SSP7

The third product we have is the Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer. I’ve mentioned before that I don’t always use primer, but I received a sample of this before with a Too Faced order, so I tried it and I really like it. It has coconut water and other things that help with replenishing and energizing your skin and it really does give you an energized and refreshed face. I would definitely recommend it.

SSP6

Next we have the Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner Matte Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner in (Earth)Quake. I’ve already worn this and I really like it. It’s a dark chocolatey brown, which will go great with any look and it’s long lasting which I always appreciate. They have other shades as well and I’m definitely going to look into those.

SSP4

SSP5

Second to last we have the Sephora LashCraft Big Volume Mascara in Black. I’ve also already worn this, you guys know how much I like trying different mascaras and this one I quite like. My lashes looked big and full and it really didn’t clump. Overall a really good mascara.

SSP2

And the last product we have, this month’s bonus, is the Belif The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb. Besides moisturizing this is supposed to sooth and hydrate your skin for 26 hours. I use other Belif products, they make my favorite eye cream, so I’m excited to try this.

SSP8

That about wraps it up for this post, if you guys got any of the same products in your September Play Boxes let me know and if not I’d love to know what you did get.

Until next time, enjoy your products and I can’t wait to see what I get next month :).

A look into my makeup collection: Blush, bronzer, highlighter edition

Hi everyone,

Today I’m going to be taking you guys through some more of my makeup collection, specifically blushes, bronzers and highlighters. The last time I did one of these it was about nude lipsticks and I really enjoyed it, so I will be linking that post down below if you haven’t read it.

BBB1

I’m going to be doing this in sections, starting with blush, I have more blush than anything, so let’s get into it. First we have a Too Faced blush, it’s from the I Believe In Pink palette from the Best Year Ever Makeup Collection. It’s called Pink Poinsettia and it’s a really bright, really pretty pink. Next we have three blushes from the e.l.f. Blush palette in Light, I have two of these, this one is the older of the two. The first blush is a really light pale pink, the second is a darker more natural pink, and the third is a sparkly coral, it looks great when it hits the light.

BBB4

BBB5

For the second half of that picture on top we have the second e.l.f. Blush palette. This one is also in Light but the colors are different as you can see. The first one is still pale pink, but it has darker undertones. The second is slightly lighter than it’s counterpart but it has more purple in it and the last is still very sparkly, but it’s more pinky coral. And the last blush in this photo is from Model Co and it’s in the shade Peach Bellini. It’s a really nice peachy orange, highly pigmented, and it’s very buildable, which is what I did for the photo.

BBB6

And finally we have the last four blushes. The first is a Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour blush in Feisty. This came across really brown in the photo, but it’s a dusty orange-ish shade. The second is also a Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour blush, but this one is in Paaarty. It’s a nudey pink shade and it’s really pretty on. Next is the Seraphine Botanicals Lychee + Gold Healthy Glow Rose Gold blush. I wear this all the time and I love it, it’s the perfect shade and if you’re looking for a unique blush that will go with pretty much any makeup look I definitely recommend this one. And the last blush we have is a random sample I got and it’s from Coastal Scents. I actually really like it, colorwise it’s similar to the Seraphine Botanicals blush, but slightly darker and without the gold.

BBB7

BBB8

Moving on we have bronzer. I don’t have quite as many bronzers, but I really like what I do have. First up we have from Too Faced, the Natural Beauty palette from the Best Year Ever Makeup Collection. This bronzer is called Warm My Heart and it’s a milk chocolatey brown and it looks great on. The next one is from the e.l.f. Blush palette in Light, the bronzers were the only thing that stayed the same in the two e.l.f. palettes and it’s an orangey brown. The second to last bronzer is from the Coastal Scents blush and bronzer palette and because it’s so light sometimes I’ll put it on top of another bronzer and blend them together. It’s weird but it works. And the last bronzer is an old favorite of mine, the Benefit Hoola bronzer. It’s matte and it gives you that beautiful sunkissed glow, it’s something I’ll recommend over and over again.

BBB2

BBB3

And lastly we have highlighter, like bronzers I only have a few, but I may or may not have just ordered a new highlighter palette. The first one is Too Faced and from the Super Fun Night palette and Best Year Ever Makeup Collection. It’s called Dashing Through The Glow and it’s a really pretty champagne color and it’s the one that I use pretty much everyday, which is why it looks the way it does. The next one is Manna Kadar Beauty and it’s a three in one bronzer, highlighter, and eyeshadow in Fantasy. I only ever used this as highlighter and it was my go to before Dashing Through The Glow. Third is the Pixi By Petra Beauty Blush Duo in Peach Honey. I dropped this one in my bathroom which is why it looks like this. But I always use this for highlighter, I mix the colors together and it creates a really pretty glow. But on their own they’re just as good. Second to last is the Urban Decay Afterglow 8 hour powder highlighter in Sin. I found this one at the back of my highlighter drawer, I thought I had tossed it because it was basically empty. I had ordered a full size when I saw this one was at the end and when it came it was the wrong color, so I had to send it back and I haven’t received the new one yet. But it happens and I’m excited for it to come because it is really pretty and gives a great shine. And the last highlighter is the Tini Beauty Barfly Highlighter in Candlelit. This is a cream highlighter and it’s in a really pretty light pink. It’s one of my favorites.

BBB9

BBB10

That about wraps it up for this post, I really like doing posts like this so definitely look out for more in the future.

Until next time, you can never have too many blushes, bronzers or highlighters and what’s your favorite brand? 🙂

August favorites

Hi everyone,

Today I’m going to be doing my August favorites. I can’t believe how quickly this month and summer in general has gone. I am ready for fall and everything that comes with it, but this summer has been nice. That being said, let’s get into it.

Starting with beauty, I have a couple of favorites from my August Sephora Play Box and I’ll link that down below if you haven’t read it. My first favorite is the MoroccanOil Dry Texture Spray. I really like this, I’ve used it a couple times since getting it, including today. I put my hair in a bun and wanted a little more volume, which it gave me and I’m happy with it. I would definitely recommend it.

AGSP8

My next beauty favorite is the Nars Pro Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base. I don’t always wear an eyeshadow primer, but I’ve been wearing this since I got it and I really like it. It stops my eyeshadow from creasing and it locks in my look all day.

AGSP2

And my last beauty favorite is the Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick in C211, Rose Wood. I really like this lipstick, the color is great, it’s highly pigmented and it has a great satin finish. I would definitely recommend it and I’m for sure going to be buying more of these lipsticks.

AGSP4

AGSP5

AGFA1

My next favorite is a food favorite and it’s the Noosa Yogurt single serves and specifically the Vanilla Bean. Noosa Yogurt is one of my favorites and I love that they have them in the little singles now, it’s the perfect amount.

AGFA2

AGFA3

And my last couple favorites are music favorites. The first is something that I’m really excited about and it’s Eric Clapton’s forthcoming Christmas album Happy Xmas. I’ve been saying for 10 years how great it would be if he brought out a Christmas album and I can’t wait to hear it.

My last music favorite is the Beatles song I’ve Just Seen A Face. I’ve always like this song and I recently decided to try and learn it on ukulele and it’s going well. It’s a fast song, but it’s really fun to play.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we had any of the same favorites this month let me know and if not I’d love to know what your favorites were.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope you all had a great August :).

August Sephora Play unboxing

Hi everyone,

Over the weekend I received my August Sephora Play Box and I thought today would be a good time to go through it. The theme this month is Beauty Schooled, meaning this box is filled with products that are well loved or have earned high marks. The bag itself is adorable. It’s a white canvas bag with pink drawstrings, it has a pink and yellow design on the front that consists of two makeup brushes, a mascara wand and a pencil and ruler. It also says ‘Back To Beauty School’ in pink and yellow.

AGSP1

The first product we have is the MoroccanOil Dry Texture Spray. This is a finishing texture spray that gives you volume and helps to lock in your look all day. Since my hair is long right now I’m styling it a lot, so I’m excited to give this a try.

AGSP8

The second product we have is the Dr. Dennis Gross C+ Collagen Deep Cream. This is a quick absorbing cream that is supposed to hydrate your skin and give you a bright and dewy complexion. I’m always trying out new creams, so I’ll let you guys know what I think of this.

AGSP9

Moving on we have the Nars Pro Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base. You put this on your eyelids before you put on your eyeshadow and it’s supposed to set your eyeshadow all day and prevent it from creasing. I don’t use an eyeshadow primer all the time and when I do it’s usually the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion and I like it, so I’m interested to try this.

AGSP2

Next we have the Benefit Hoola Matte Bronzer. I used this bronzer forever ago and I loved it. It gives you a natural just been in the sun look and I’m excited to use this again.

AGSP6

AGSP7

The second to last product is the Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick in C211, Rose Wood. I’m wearing this lipstick today and I really like it. The color is great, it’s a beautiful rose shade that’s highly pigmented and it has a really nice satin finish.

AGSP4

AGSP5

And the last product, this month’s bonus product, is the DryBar Southern Belle Volume Boosting Shampoo and Conditioner. This is supposed to give your hair volume and help to protect your hair from dryness. I really like the shampoo and conditioner I’m using now, so I’m interested to see how this stacks up.

AGSP3

That about wraps it up for this post, if you guys got any of the same products in your August Play Boxes let me know and if not I’d love to know what you did get.

Until next time, enjoy your products and I can’t wait to see what I get next month :).

Summer skincare routine

Hi everyone,

Today I’m going to be doing my summer skincare routine, I did one of these during the winter and I enjoyed it so I figured I would do another. If you never read the winter one, I will link it down below. Before I get into this I’m going to be completely honest with you guys, I spent time yesterday taking some photos for this and it was great. I had the perfect lighting and I was really excited to post these pictures. However, when I went to look at the pictures on my laptop they were gone. I don’t know what happened or how it happened, but I’m not thrilled with it, so I’ll be using the existing pictures I have of these products. But if at any point in the future I’m able to recover the photos I will come back and insert them. I will be linking all the products down below, and with that said, let’s get into it.

I’ve been using a few different products this summer. Because I do subscribe to Sephora Play, I’m always getting new products and incorporating them into my routine, so I now have two routines that I switch between. At the very start of the summer, this is what it looked like. To take off my makeup I would use the Tarte Rainforest Of The Sea Deep Dive Cleansing Gel. One pump of this goes into my hand and I rub my hands together until it gets foamy then I put it on my face. I’ve been able to get away with just using this and not a secondary cleanser because I haven’t been wearing as much makeup/ not as heavy coverage wise, this summer.

JLGB9

The next thing I do is take the Caudalie Vine Activ Glow Activating Anti-Wrinkle Serum and put a couple drops of that into my moisturizer, which is the Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet. On it’s own the Moisturizing Sorbet is amazing and I absolutely love it, but the addition of the Serum gives your skin that extra boost.

SSK1

JLGB4

And the final thing I do is take my favorite eye cream, the Belif Moisturizing Eye Bomb and apply that. It really is one of the best eye creams I’ve ever used.

FSP3

The last thing I do is put something on my lips. I have three products that I use and I rotate through them. I’ll put all the pictures in the second routine so it’s not to repetitive.

The second routine I have is to start I’ve been using the Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover for Lids, Lashes and Lips. I really like this because it has a gentle formula and it doesn’t sting or irritate my skin and to apply I put this on a cotton pad.

JNSP4

Then to remove the rest of my makeup, I’ll use the Tarte Rainforest Of The Sea Deep Dive Cleansing Gel.

JLGB9

The next thing I do is use the Caudalie Vinoperfect Concentrated Brightening Essence. I put this on a cotton pad and rub it over my entire face and it removes your dead skin cells so whatever serums and moisturizers you’re using can really sink in and do what they’re supposed to do. And since getting this, I use it with my other routine to complete the Caudalie trifecta.

JSP5

Next I use the Murad Nutrient Charged Water Gel to moisturize my face and I honestly love this. It leaves my skin feeling incredibly moisturized.

JNSP3

The second to last thing I do is apply the Belif Moisturizing Eye Bomb.

FSP3

And the last thing I do, is put something on my lips. I rotate between Vanilla Softlips, SKYN Iceland Berry Lip Fix with Wintered Red Algae and Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask. I wear a lot of lipsticks and other lip products, so I’ve always taken extra steps to make sure I moisturize my lips. I’ve been using Vanilla Softlips for ages and it never does me wrong, plus it has an SPF in it. The SKYN Iceland Berry Lip Fix is a favorite of mine from the winter and it does a great job of preventing lips cracking and it was great when I got sunburnt. And the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask is a product I love to pieces and I’ve loved for a while. It makes my lips feel so smooth and hydrated.

AF3

NGB3

JSP4

That about wraps it up for this post, if you guys use any of the same products in your summer skincare routine let me know and if not I’d love to know what products you do use.

Until next time, you can never have too many skincare products and I hope you’re having a great summer :).

Summer 2018 OOTD’s and makeup looks

Hi everyone,

Today I’m going to be doing one of my favorite posts, OOTD’s and makeup looks, and this one is for summer. I have three different looks I’m going to be featuring, so let’s get into it.

The first look we have is one that I’ve been going for a lot more when I can, no makeup. In Washington, and pretty much everywhere else, a lot of this summer has been a ridiculous heat wave. So putting on makeup hasn’t been my first choice. As for my outfit, I went with a plain black tank top and a pair of floral shorts from Forever 21, I’ll link them down below if I can find the link, and a gold chain necklace.

SO1

SO4

This particular existence, I had showered and was feeling the natural look. I did use two products though, after I showered I used the Peter Thomas Roth FIRMx Peeling Gel, which I love and one hundred percent recommend. It clears your pores and removes dead skin and it leaves my skin feeling so soft and smooth. And I also used the SKYN Iceland Berry Lip Fix with Wintered Red Algae, I’ve talked about this before, you guys know how much I love this. It’s super hydrating and that’s always important, especially during incredible cold or incredible hot.

My second look is from the Fourth of July and I always like to have fun with my look.

SO2

SO6

Starting with my face, and after my morning routine, the first thing I do is put on my foundation which is the L’Oreal Paris True Match super-blendable foundation in N2, Classic Ivory. I then apply my concealer which is the matching True Match concealer in N 1-2-3, Fair/Light and for the spots I want a little heavier coverage I use the YADAH Silky Fit Concealer BB Power Brightening in Light Beige and I blend that in with a Micro Mini Beauty Blender, which I know is really dirty, but I ordered some new ones so they should be here soon. And I topped that off with the Tarte Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder which I apply with an e.l.f. powder brush. Bronzer and blush wise, I went with my classic e.l.f. combo from the two palettes in the top corner. The bronzer I apply with my favorite Firma Beauty 103 Angled Contour brush and I use a big fluffy brush to apply my blush. The final thing I do is highlighter and for that I used the Too Faced Super Fun Night palette from the Too Faced Best Year Ever makeup collection. It’s called Dashing Through The Glow and it’s a gorgeous champagne color.

SO7

For my eyes I used one of my go to palettes, the Too Faced Smokey Eye and I used Smolder, which is blue and I used a Bare Escentuals eye shadow brush to apply and blend a little and I put White Lie in the inner corner of my eye and under my brows. I did a little winged liner and for that I used the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper and Mascara was Essence Cosmetics I Love Crazy Volume in Deep Black. As always I used an angled brush and filled in my brows with Up In Smoke and finished the look off with the LOC Vibrant Matte Lipstick in Color Me Confident, it’s a really pretty cranberry red and it has great staying power.

For the third look, I was feeling a little extra girly and this was the result. This dress, which is one of the most comfortable I own, is from H&M and again, if I can find a link I’ll put it down below.

SO3

SO5

I pretty much used the same products for this look, except I used the Seraphine Botanicals Lychee + Gold Healthy Glow Rose-Gold Blush. It gives you a really pretty glow and I really like the way the sparkle in it works with the sparkle and shine of the highlighter. And I used the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Pressed Airbrush Silk Pressed Anti-Aging Finishing Powder. I really love this powder, it really sets my makeup and I would definitely recommend it if you’re in the market for a new powder.

SO8

For the rest of my look, starting with my eyes, I used the e.l.f. Everyday Smoky palette. The eye shadow I used is the second to last gray shade, it has a little bit of sparkle to it and it blends nicely. In the inner corner of my eye and under my brows I used the third color in, it’s really nice pale sparkly pink. I used the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion for my eye liner, the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara in Noir. I love this mascara it really does give major volume. I filled in my brows with Up In Smoke and I finished it off with one of my favorite lipsticks, Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Let’s Go Crazy.

That about wraps it up for this post, I always enjoy doing these, so look out for more in the future.

Until next time, have fun with your looks and take as many OOTD pictures as possible :).
