Mini haul

Hi everyone,

Today I’m going to be doing a mini haul. I’ve picked up a few things over the past couple of weeks and I thought today would be the perfect day to show you guys, so let’s get into it.

To start I’m going to talk about a couple of beauty bits. I was in Sephora last week just browsing, famous last words when in Sephora, and I saw that they had my favorite pore strips so I picked up a couple. They’re the Sephora Charcoal nose strips and in my opinion they are the best. I highly recommend them.

MJH7

The next thing I picked up in Sephora was two of the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Masks. One in Champagne and the other in Natural. I had to order these online because my local Sephora was sold out and I’m not surprised in the least. These have quickly become one of my favorite things to put on my lips. They are incredibly hydrating and they make your lips really soft and smooth.

And the last thing I picked up from Sephora was my Beauty Insider birthday gift. My birthday is in two days, and this was a great first birthday gift to get. There were a couple to choose from and I chose this Bite Beauty set. I love Bite Beauty, I think their lipsticks are fantastic.

MJH1

You get three products in this box and the first is the Matte Crème Lip Crayon in Glace. This is a dusty mauve shade and I love it, it’s really pretty on.

MJH3

The next thing is an Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Chai. This is a brown shade but it’s more of a mauvey brown. The other Amuse Bouche Lipstick I have is a brown and they do brown shades really well.

MJH4

MJH5

And the last thing in this box is a double Agave Lip Balm and Agave Lip Scrub. I have yet to try either of these, but I’m excited to and I’ll let you know what I think.

MJH6

The last beauty related item is a Bath and Body Works fragrance and it’s Fresh Sparkling Snow. I actually picked this up at the end of December, kind of forgot about it and found it when I was organizing a bunch of different beauty products at the beginning of the year. The smell of this is iced pear, frozen melon and frosted musk. It’s a very fresh scent with just the slightest hint of sweetness. I’m not a fan of overly/sickly sweet smells and this is perfect.

MJH8

And the last item in this haul is a pair of workout pants. Usually when I buy workout clothes I go with Nike or Under Armour, but my mom is always raving about Fabletics so I decided to check them out. The leggings I bought are the Salar Printed Powerhold leggings. The design is called blurred floral and they have black flowers with a black, white and bluish/purple background and I really like the way these fit. I definitely recommend Fabletics if you’re shopping for new workout clothes.

MJH9

That about wraps it up for this post, I always like doing hauls so look out for more in the future.

Until next time, I hope you’re having a good January and what fun things have you guys bought this month? 🙂

Too Faced Best Year Ever review

Hi everyone,

I’m back! I really hope you guys had a good New Years and have been having a great 2018. I enjoyed having some time off, but I’m really happy to be back. So, the first topic of 2018 will be the Too Faced Best Year Ever makeup collection. I talked about this briefly in my December Favorites post, but I wanted to get into it a little more.

So this collection features three different palettes, I Believe In Pink, Natural Beauty, Super Fun Night and a mini Better Than Sex mascara. It comes in a zip up case that is gold and pink striped on the outside, black and white striped on the inside, has a little tassel on the zipper and says I Have Way More Makeup At Home on the front.

DF4

DF5

DF6

So, starting with I Believe In Pink, it has six shadows and a blush.

TF1

Starting at the very bottom, we have Snowgirl, it’s a cream shade and makes a great base. Then we have Mink Pink and it’s a very light pink and is great for highlighting, under the eyebrow and in the inner corner of the eye. The next color is Pink Rink, I’ve used this one the most out of these six and it’s a gorgeous rose gold shade. Next to that is Pink Christmas which is very shimmery light pink. The second to last is Spoiled Rotten and it’s a matte mauve. The last shadow is Wish For It and that is a gorgeous eggplant shade. And lastly, Pink Poinsettia, the blush is a brighter pink. It really is a great shade for winter and for those rosier cheeked looks. One thing that’s for sure is that the Too Faced eyeshadows are very pigmented and the color payoff is fantastic.

DF7

Next up we have the Natural Beauty palette, which has six eyeshadows and a bronzer.

TF2

Starting at the very bottom is Angelic which is a beige shade. Next to that is 5 Golden Rings, which is a lighter gold and one of the shades I’ve used the most in this palette. The next shade is Oh, Deer! It’s a matte brown almost cocoa powder color. Next to that is Pretty Pecan which is a rich chocolately brown. The second to last shadow is Sleigh My Name which I would describe as a gray brown and it looks great on. And the last eyeshadow is BAEthoven and it’s deep matte brown. And the bronzer, Warm My Heart, is a shade or two darker than Oh Deer! And it has a nice shimmer to it.

DF8

And lastly we have the Super Fun Night Palette. It has six eyeshadows and a highlighter.

TF3

Starting at the bottom, we have Lucky Star which is a very, very light shimmery gold. Next to that is Cozy Cashmere and that is a bubblegum-ish pink. The next eyeshadow is Tipsy, which is a gray shade, but the shimmer is pink so it really gives  it a complexity and when it hits the light it looks fantastic. Next to that is Oh What Fun and that is a light matte brown. The second to last eyeshadow is Sleighhh Girl which is a dirty gold and it’s probably one of my favorites from any palette. And the last shadow is No Peeking and it’s a really dark charcoaly black. And lastly the highlighter, Dashing Through The Glow, is a yellowy gold. I have quite a few highlighters and this is one of my favorites, when it hits the light the glow is really nice.

DF9

The last thing I want to mention quickly is the Better Than Sex mascara. I’ve used this many times before and I love it. If for some reason you haven’t tried it before I highly, highly recommend it. It will change your lash game.

That about wraps it up for this post, I quite like doing this type of post so look for more in the future.

Until next time, you can never have too many eyeshadow palettes and I’m happy to be back :).

December favorites/2017 wrap up

Hi everyone,

Today, as we are in the last couple days of December and of 2017, I thought it would be the perfect day to do my December favorites and wrap up this year. So, starting with beauty and I have a couple of favorites from my December Glam Bag, if you haven’t read that post I’ll link it below, and the first is the bag itself. It’s silver with a band of silver sparkles around the top and the inside as well as the zipper is aqua and I love it. Not only is it wintery, but it’s so my colors.

DF13

My next Glam Bag favorite is the Essence Cosmetics I Love Crazy Volume Mascara in Deep Black. I’ve worn this a couple of times and I really like it. It does give my lashes volume and thickness.

DGB3

And my last Glam Bag favorite is the Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Legendary. I’ve always liked the Smashbox lipsticks and this one is no different. It’s a gorgeous red, it’s long lasting and it doesn’t dry out your lips like some red lipsticks can do. I definitely recommend it.

DGB6

I want to make a note quickly and say that I haven’t yet had a chance to try out the Purlisse sheet masks, but I will let you know what I think once I have.

Next up I’m going to talk about a few of the things that I got for Christmas and for that I’ll start with my stocking. The first thing I pulled out of my stocking was a set of four gold rings from H&M. I love rings and these are the perfect simple accessory.

DF1

The next thing was a full sized Bath and Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar 24 hour moisture Ultra Shea body cream. This is one of my favorite scents from Bath and Body Works and probably my favorite lotion.

DF2

The rest of my stocking was full of a loofa, some toiletries (toothpaste, makeup wipes, etc) and candy.

Moving on to some of my presents, there are a few that I wanted to mention and the first is a curling iron. I was in desperate need of a medium sized curling iron, I have one with a small barrel and one with a really big barrel, but I was lacking some middle ground so this is perfect. It’s a Conair Instant Heat curling iron with a 1 1/4 barrel. I’ve always liked  Conair because I have a lot of hair and it’s thick and these get really hot and create nice curls.

DF3

Next up is one of my favorite gifts I received and it’s the Too Faced Best Year Ever collection. You guys know how much I love Too Faced and I’m so in love with this. It comes in a little zip up case that is gold with pink stripes on the outside and it says “I have way more makeup at home” on the front.

DF4

When you open it you see black and white stripes and the three palettes are stacked on one another and there is a mini Better Than Sex mascara on the top. It also comes with a little booklet that has four different looks and how to create them.

DF5

Like I said, there’s three palettes and they are I Believe in Pink, Natural Beauty and Super Fun Night.

DF6

I Believe in Pink has six eyeshadows ranging from super light pink to purple with a blush in the shade Pink Poinsettia. I have over the last three days worn at least one color from each palette and these shadows are very pigmented and look fantastic on.

DF7

Natural Beauty has six eyeshadows in the gold and brown shades and a bronzer in Warm My Heart.

DF8

And Super Fun Night has six eyeshadows in a mix of different colors and a highlighter in Dashing Through The Glow.

DF9

I will be doing a more in depth post on the Best Year Ever in the new year, so look out for that.

And the last beauty related thing is actually a sample that I got with the Too Faced collection. It was a small bottle of the Atelier Mandarine Glaciale perfume. I’m going to be honest with you guys, the second I smelled it I was in love. It has mandarin, ginger and vetiver and is a really fresh and warming scent. It also reminds me of something from when I younger, but I can’t remember what it is. I did order a full size bottle of this and it is on the pricier side but Sephora offers it in at least two sets that I’ve seen that have other Atelier scents.

I have a couple of clothing favorites, this Christmas was very sports heavy for my family and none of us were mad about it. When it comes to college football USC is my team and I was lacking in things to wear on game day but now that’s not the case. First up is a racerback ombre tank top. Ignore the wrinkles, I had it folded. But I love a tank top and can’t wait to wear this.

DF10

Next we have a white V-neck t-shirt that says Fight On! which is the name of the USC fight song. What I like about this shirt is it’s incredibly soft and it’s slightly on the baggy side, not overly but I tried it on and it looks great tucked into jeans.

DF11

And finally we have a black and gray hoodie. I don’t think I’ve taken this off since I got it, it’s fleece lined on the inside and it does a great job keeping me warm.

DF12

USC plays Ohio State tomorrow in the Cotton Bowl and I think it’s going to be a great game. Go Trojans!

And my last couple of favorites are music favorites. The first is the Ed Sheeran song Perfect. Everyone has been talking about this song recently and with good reason, it’s fantastic. If you somehow haven’t heard it yet, go and listen to it.

The last two are from Robbie Williams Under The Radar Vol. 2 album, which came out recently and my two favorites from this album are Bambi and 9 To 5. Bambi is one of my favorite songs of 2017, it’s a fun and very Robbie Williams. And I love the fact that he covered 9 to 5, if you like the original version of the song then you’ll like this one.

That about wraps it up for this post and I want to take a minute and thank you guys for reading, liking and commenting this year. 2017 was a crazy year and I can’t wait to see what 2018 will bring.

Until next time, I hope you all had a great December and 2017 and I appreciate every one of you :).

Blogmas Day 23: Festive nail art

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day 23! I can’t believe it’s the second to last day, this has truly gone by so quickly. Today I’m going to be showing you guys my festive manicures from this month and how I achieved them.

I can say for sure that this year it was definitely more difficult for me to decide on the designs I wanted than in previous years, but ultimately I like what I came up with. For this first one I wanted to do something I hadn’t done before so I did Christmas lights.

CNA1

To do this I used Sinful Colors 101, Snow Me White for the base, for the string I used LA Colors Color Last in CNP31, Onyx and for the lights I used Sinful Colors 852, Gogo Girl, Salon Perfect 207, Blue Ribbon and Pure Ice 303CP, Free Spirit. And to top it off I used the Pure Ice High Shine Top Coat and that’s the top coat I used for all of these manicures.

CNA5

The second manicure I did was snowflakes, but I didn’t want it to be the normal blue and white snowflakes that I do every year so I changed it up a bit.

CNA2

This one was simple, only two colors. The silver base is p2 Techno Chrome polish in 010, Steel Drama and the snowflakes themselves are the Sally Hansen I Heart Nail Art pen, with a fine tip, in 380, Red.

For my second to last festive manicure I went with a Christmas tree with lights and garland.

CNA3

For this I used a Dermelect polish in Verdure as the base, for the garland I used Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in 485, Golden-I and for the lights I used two Sally Hansen I Heart Nail Art pens. One in 380, Red with a fine tip and the other in 360, Pearly White, also with a fine tip.

CNA7

And finally for my last festive manicure, the one I have on my nails now, a present.

CNA4

To do this I used Pure Ice 1026, Hit The Floor, Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in 485, Golden-I and for the ribbon on the present, Sally Hansen I Heart Nail Art pen, with a fine tip, in 380, Red.

That about wraps it up for this post, I always enjoy doing these posts so look out for more in the future.

Until next time, enjoy your festive manicures and Merry Christmas Eve Eve :).

Blogmas Day 20: A year of Glam Bags

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day 20! I can’t believe it’s already the 20th and we’re near the end of Blogmas, it’s gone by so quickly. Today I’m going to be talking about the Glam Bags I received this year from Ipsy. I got a lot of great products this year and a lot of cool bags, so let’s get into it.

YGB1

I think as the months went on the bag designs got more fun and I found myself liking more and more of the products.

jgb1

From the January Glam Bag, my favorites were the blush, the nail polish and Manna Kadar 3 in 1 bronzer, highlighter, eyeshadow.

fgb1

In the February Glam Bag, I really liked the design of the bag with the denim and the orange zipper that was in the shape of lips. When it came to what was in the bag, I liked everything but my favorites were the face masks, nail polish, lipstick and eyeshadow.

MGB2

I loved the March bag. The design was great, I loved the colors and I loved that it gave you more space. Product wise, I loved everything and with the exception of the brush and the blush I have repurchased and been happily using those products.

AGB1

The April bag had a really fun design, the fair ticket was a great idea. The EM Cosmetics eyeliner was one of my favorite things from any bag that I got and I use it all the time. I love the nail polish, two colors I didn’t have and I’m glad I do now. And the same with the eyeshadow, I didn’t really wear a lot of pink shadows before, but this has a good amount of sparkle to it and I’ve figured out a couple of fun looks with it. And I couldn’t not mention the Glamour Dolls x Lisa Frank brush, it’s adorable.

MYGB1

The May bag was a great way to get people in the summery mood, the different ice creams and the fact that to me at least, it smelled like pool floaties. Again, this was a bag where I loved everything but my favorites were the liquid lipstick, which smells like cake batter, the eyeshadow duo, the eyeliner pencil, and the highlighter.

JNGB1

I thought the June bag with the kind of pop art lips was a great choice design wise. I really loved the face masks, the nail polish and the blush from this bag.

JLGB1

The July bag had the cutest design of all with Gudetama gracing the front and back. From this bag my favorites were the cleanser, the moisturizer and the eyeliner. I have repurchased all of them.

AGGB1

On to August, I loved the color of this bag, I know there were a couple of different ones you could get but I liked this one the best and it says Peace, Love and Lipstick on it which is a great motto. I genuinely loved and use everything in this bag.

SGB1

The theme for September was one of my favorites, it was Ipsy Boss. Which was all about channeling your inner boss and owning it. I loved the design of the bag with the black,  the gold zip, the purple/midnight blue fabric on the inside and the little spikes on the outside. I have this in my handbag now as my makeup bag. This was another month where I loved everything and use them all.

OGB1

The October bag had a Halloween flair. It was crimson with a lace overlay and a little bat on the zipper. My favorites from that bag were the nail polish, eyeliner, the liquid lipstick and the hand cream.

NGB9

The second to last bag, from November was very autumnal. And I absolutely loved everything in it.

DGB1

And finally we have the December bag. I won’t say too much about it because I haven’t done my monthly favorites yet. But I will say that I’m a big fan of this bag.

That about wraps it up for this post, Ipsy has sent me a lot of great products this year. What has been the favorite or favorites that you guys have received from Ipsy this year?

Until next time, I hope you guys have had a great year of Glam Bags and I can’t believe it’s almost Christmas :).

Blogmas Day 14: December Glam Bag unboxing

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day 14! Today I’m going to be showing you guys what I got in my December Glam Bag from Ipsy. The theme this month is Ipsy Snow Globe and besides being wintery it’s all about sharing who you are and your ideas and inspiring one another. The bag itself is, in my opinion, one of the best they’ve done this year. It’s silver and has a sparkly band that wraps around the top and the inside is lined in an aqua fabric. It’s fantastic, so my colors.

DGB1

So first up we have two Purlisse sheet masks. The first is a Green Tea and Ginger Rejuvenating mask for moisturizing and detoxifying. The second is Coconut and Rice Nourishing mask for moisturizing and soothing. I haven’t used any of the Purlisse masks, but I’ve only heard amazing things about them so I can’t wait to put them on.

DGB2

Next up we have the Essence Cosmetics I Love Crazy Volume Mascara in Deep Black. I put this on this morning and I was really surprised. With one coat my lashes looked thick and were definitely defined. I’m usually quite picky with my mascara and I like this one.

DGB3

Moving on we have the NYX Slide on Pencil in Brown Perfection. I don’t own any brown eyeliner, but I have green eyes so I’m interested to see what looks I can create.

DGB4

Second to last we have the Seraphine Botanicals Orange and Cream Lip Polish. This smells like creamsicle, which is a delicious smell. I don’t typically use lip scrubs or polishes but I’m definitely willing to give this a try.

DGB5

And lastly we have the Smashbox lipstick I mentioned yesterday. It’s the Be Legendary Lipstick in Legendary. It’s a gorgeous red and I can’t wait to wear it.

DGB6

RLC3

That about wraps it up for this post, if you guys got any of the same products in your December Glam Bag let me know and if not I’d love to know what you did get.

Until next time, enjoy your products and I can’t wait to see what I get next month :).

Blogmas Day 12: Red lips for Christmas

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day 12! I know that I’m a day late with this post, so I apologize for that and day 13 will also be going up today so it will be back on track. So, for todays post I’m going to be talking about red lipstick. Red lipstick is incredibly popular this time of year and there are so many different ones, but I’m going to go over five of my favorites so let’s get into it.

RLC1

The first is actually new, it came in my December Glam Bag yesterday (that post will be up in a few days), and I haven’t had a chance to wear it yet. And it’s the Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Legendary. I’ve always really like Smashbox as a brand and I think their lipsticks are great. This particular one is a nice fire engine red and I can’t wait to wear it.

RLC2

RLC3

Next we have a favorite of mine that I’ve mentioned many times, the e.l.f. Moisturizing Lipstick in Red Carpet. It actually is red carpet color, it’s very moisturizing and like always when I talk about this lipstick, I highly recommend it.

RLC4

RLC6

Moving on, we have the LOC Vibrant Matte Lipstick in Color Me Confident. This lipstick is a gorgeous cranberry shade and it’s definitely been a go to for me since I got it and it’s the lipstick I wore in the Christmas Day Makeup post I did the other day.

RLC5

RLC11

CDM3

Second to last we have a lipstick that doesn’t look red on first glance but it is a brick shade, and that is the Caked Makeup Lip Fondant in Low Key. It’s a matte liquid lipstick and I love it. Not only is it a lovely shade that goes with a ton of different looks, but it smells like cake batter which is great always but it’s fun during the holidays.

RLC7

RLC8

And lastly, we have hands down one of the best red lipsticks, the Too Faced Melted Matte Lipstick in Lady Balls. This lipstick is a bold red, which I really like, and it lasts forever. I highly, highly recommend it if you’re in the market for a good red.

RLC9

RLC10

That about wraps it up for this post, what red lipsticks are you guys loving this holiday season?

Until next time, I hope you guys are enjoying Blogmas and you can never have too many lipsticks :).
