Recently I’ve been wanting to expand the color range of my eyeshadow palette collection, so I had a little look around the Sephora website and came across the Huda Beauty Obsessions palettes. While they all look incredible and I will definitely be going back and purchasing more, the first one I saw and the one I picked up is the Ruby Obsessions palette.
This is a 9 pan palette with mattes, one shimmer and glitters. The is also a pretty nice mirror attached to this palette.
I think I have two or three palettes in total that have one red or reddish shade in them, so seeing this palette was exciting to me because I do wear the reds I have and I like them quite a bit. I swatched this on my arm and I did the swatches row by row. The first shadow we have is a really light peachy/pink matte, the mattes are really smooth and the entire palette is very nicely pigmented. Next to that is a pinky/red glitter and a rose gold glitter. The glittery shades are quite smooth as well.
The second row starts with a matte maroon. Next to that is an interesting shadow, it’s one of the glitters and in the pan it looks like it has purple undertones and in the swatch you can see the purple and red tones but it also has a bit of a duo chrome effect and you can see gold. I’m intrigued to see how that looks on the eye. The last shadow in this row is a glitter and it’s a really dark shadow, black undertones with purple glitter and when it hits the light it’s super pretty.
The last row starts with the one shimmer I mentioned and it’s an orangey/red. There’s a shadow very similar to this in a e.l.f. palette I have that I’ve finally figured out how to make work for me, so I’m interested to see how this one looks on me. Next to that is a matte light peach that would be a great transition shade. And the last shadow is what I would call a matte raspberry.
That about wraps it up for this post, overall I think this is a great palette that I will get a lot of use out of and I can’t wait to wear these shadows.
Until next time, have fun creating different looks and you can never have too many eyeshadow palettes :).
