Blogmas Day 8: Holiday cocktails

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day 8! Today I’m going to be talking about some holiday cocktails. These are simple enough and quite good. Large party or small night in with friends, these will be a hit.

The first is an incredibly simple Christmas Sangria.

What you need:

  • 2 bottles of Chardonnay or Pinot Grigio
  • 3/4 cup of sparkling apple cider
  • 1/4 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 cup of halved cranberries
  • 3/4 cup of whole cranberries
  • 1 chopped Granny Smith apple
  • 3 sprigs of rosemary

What you do:

  • Combine all the ingredients in a large pitcher and stir with a wooden spoon, it helps the sugar dissolve
  • Put in the fridge for at least 4 hours
  • Serve and enjoy!

Next up we have easy Cranberry Mimosas. The perfect holiday drink.

What you need:

  • Cranberry juice cocktail
  • Orange Liqueur, Triple Sec
  • Champagne, whichever is your favorite
  • Fresh cranberries and fresh rosemary for garnish, this optional

What you do:

  • Fill your champagne flutes 1/3 of the way full with the cranberry juice cocktail and add in a splash of the orange liqueur. Then fill the remaining 2/3 of your glass with champagne.
  • To finish it off garnish with the fresh cranberries and rosemary sprigs
  • Serve and enjoy!

Moving on we have a drink with an adorably kitsch name, that I love, and they are Santa Claus-Mopolitans. There are two versions of this recipe, one for a party and one for a single drink, and I’m going to put them both in because this drink is that good.

What you need:

  • 64 ounces of Cranberry Juice, one bottle
  • 64 ounces of White Cranberry-Peach Juice, one bottle
  • 16 ounces of Triple Sec
  • 8 ounces of Vodka

What you do:

  • Combine ingredients and chill in the fridge for at least 3 hours
  • Pour into rimmed glass and garnish with fresh cranberries
  • Serve and enjoy!

What you need:

Single drink

  • 1/2 cup of Cranberry Juice
  • 1/2 cup of White Cranberry-Peach Juice
  • 1 ounce of Triple Sec
  • 1/2 ounce of Vodka

What you do:

  • Combine ingredients and shake with ice
  • Pour into rimmed glass and garnish with fresh cranberries
  • Serve and enjoy!

To rim the glasses

  • Put lime juice and clear corn syrup around the outside of the glasses
  • Dip glasses in a mixture of white sanding sugar and sweetened flake coconut

And lastly we have Apple Cider Moscow Mules.

What you need:

  • 4 ounces of Hard Apple Cider
  • 4 ounces of Ginger Beer
  • 1/2 ounce of Absolut Citron Vodka
  • The juice of half a lime
  • A dash of ground cinnamon

What you do:

  • In a cocktail shaker, add ice cubes and combine the hard cider, ginger beer, vodka, lime juice and cinnamon and shake
  • Pour the mixture into a copper Moscow mule mug filled with crushed ice
  • For the garnish top with a lime wedge, an apple slice and a cinnamon stick
  • Serve and enjoy!

That about wraps it up for this post, if you guys make any of these drinks tweet me a picture or tag me on Instagram. And if there are any cocktails that you guys like to make during the holidays let me know, I’d love to try them.

Until next time, have fun at your holiday parties and happy drinking :).
