As it is the last week of July I thought it would be a good time to talk about my favorites and what I’ve been loving this month. Starting with beauty, I have a few favorites from my July Glam Bag, and I’ll link that post down below if you haven’t read it. My first favorite is the bag itself, I don’t think they could’ve chosen a more adorable mascot than Gudetama and I love that the bag has a 360 design.
Next up we have the Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet. I have loved this since the minute I put it on and it’s become an important part of my nightly routine. It’s light, smells good and my face feels so good. I have since ordered a full size version of this. Definitely recommend it.
My next beauty favorite is the Ciate London Wonderwand Gel-Kohl Hybrid liner in Black. Like I mentioned before I really like Ciate London, I think they’re a great brand with great products. Since joining Ipsy my collection of eyeliner has grown and I love it. This one goes on smooth and it’s long lasting. It’s also double ended so one end is the pencil and the other end is a smudging and blending brush.
My last Glam Bag favorite is the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea deep dive cleansing gel. I’ve been using this to take off my makeup and cleanse my face and I love it. The whole Rainforest of the Sea collection is brilliant and if you want a good cleansing product I recommend this. Like the Caudalie moisturizer, I’ve ordered a full size of this.
And my last beauty favorite is the LOC Vibrant Matte Lipstick in Color Me Confident. LOC stands for Love Of Color and it’s a Birchbox brand. My mom is subscribed to Birchbox and she told me about this brand so I ordered one of these lipsticks just to try out and I really like it. This particular one is a cranberry red shade, which is usually the red I wear and I quite like it. I always love a matte lipstick, this one is highly pigmented and will last you all day without feeling like you’re wearing a matte lipstick because they can leave you with a heavy feeling. I definitely recommend it.
Next I have a book favorite and that’s Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly. I mentioned this book in my summer reading list post and if you haven’t read that I’ll link it below as well. But this book is about the African American women who were part of some of NASA’s biggest successes. I have loved every bit of this book so far, being the huge history nerd I am I’m so intrigued by this and I’m almost finished with it. It has been turned into a movie with the same name, and I wanted to wait until I’d read the book to see the movie but everyone has told me how great it was, so I can’t wait to watch it.
My next favorite is the Royal International Air Tattoo, or RIAT and it’s an international airshow, the world’s largest, held every year in England. This is an airshow that I’ve always wanted to go to and hopefully within the next few years I will, but I’ve been watching videos of it on YouTube and I think it’s really cool to see how many aircraft show up and how many countries take part.
My last couple of favorites are music related and the first is the song Grand Illusion from Barry Gibb’s 2016 album In The Now. The album is full of great songs, but Grand Illusion is definitely my favorite. I’ve loved Barry Gibb forever, I love the Bee Gees and I was happy to see that he had released another album. I’ve said this before but I honestly love to sing with Barry Gibb.
Next up we have the song Shame by Gary Barlow and Robbie Williams. I’ve thought this was a great song since it came out and it popped up recently when I put my phone on shuffle. This was the first song the two worked on after they resolved their issues and fixed their friendship and that’s what the song is about. The video is kind of ridiculous, but in a good way and I love it.
And my last favorite is Face To Face by Gary Barlow and Elton John. I think I’ve mentioned before how much I love Elton John and I love that he and Gary did this song. You can tell that this song is special and I think the meaning behind it is really sweet. Not a lot of people stuck by Gary when he went through his rough patch, but Elton did and this was his way of saying thank you. It’s a brilliant song and I 100% recommend looking it up on YouTube, just like the other songs I mentioned, if you haven’t heard them.
That about wraps it up for this post, if we have any of the same favorites let me know and if not let me know what you loved this month.
Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope you had a great July :).
