The many faces of pumpkin carving

Hi everyone,

I can’t believe that Halloween is tomorrow..That being said, I spent Wednesday night pumpkin carving. I decided for the first time to carve two and it went pretty much how I thought that it would. It was time consuming and tedious at times, but that’s all part of the fun right? I initially wanted one large pumpkin and one small one, but the only small pumpkins I was able to find were the miniatures and you can’t carve on those. So, I ended up with two pretty good size pumpkins and endless design options.

I did end up deciding on two patterns. One Seahawks and the other more traditional Halloween.

The Seahawks pattern was incredibly intricate and admittedly I did mess it up, but I was able to fix it make it look like it was supposed to. And after that I wanted my other pattern to be simple and I did find one that I liked, but the problem with that one was the way the pattern worked it had to traced with a marker opposed to punched in. So there was marker all over my hands and really no way to take a picture, but I do have one of the finished product.

What I liked about this is it’s still a skull, but a different version of it.

Overall it took me a little over three hours and I’m really, really happy with how they turned out and I can’t wait to see what they look like once I put lights in them :).

Until next time, designs are always fixable and Happy Halloween! 🙂
